Hey everyone!

How's life? I hope everyone's doing okay. Sorry I haven't been able to visit. I usually try to get to a couple sites every once in a while, but I'll try to get to more today.

This weekend is one of the two 3-day weekends I have all year! It's Parents' Weekend. Everyone's parents come up and followed them to class on Friday. Then the rest of the weekend we have off just in case your parents want to take you out of town or, for the people who live close, home.

My parents couldn't come up so I spent the whole weekend doing nothing pretty much, which isn't a totally bad thing.

Saturday literally all I did was sit in bed and read Harry Potter while my friend sat and did homework in my room. I bet you can tell how exciting our lives are.

Almost nobody was on campus because their parents took them places. If I had gone to Boston, I probably would've seen more of my classmates there than on campus.

Sunday I went on a school-sponsored trip to the mall. Usually the mall the school takes us to is this really horrible mall with only like one store I would actually buy from. This weekend though, they took the people whose parents couldn't come up to this really nice mall.

It was great. Did more shopping than I got to do all summer. I had to beg my dad for the money though. I guess I shouldn't tell him I spent most of it on clothes and not on all the things I actually need XD

After shopping, we went to another place to go see a movie. There's not really any movies I want to see right now so I ended up just following my friends to Resident Evil 3. Even though I didn't see the first 2, I think I got the gist of it. To me, the whole movie was overdramatic. People were just dying for the sake of blood at some point. Overall, it was okay though.

Rather than that, I have one more day left of my 3-day weekend and I'll probably spend it doing homework and getting to things I put off all week. Maybe work on a new layout... I hope at least.

Hey everybody! Hope everyone's well.

I have my first 2-day weekend of the year! See, at my school we have half days on Wednesdays and half days on Saturdays, but this week we don't have any classes this Saturday because most seniors have to take the SATs. Sucks for them XD

Actually I'm taking the PSATs in 2 weeks, which seems so weird to me. I feel so old even though I'm younger than most people on here, I know.

But when I think of anything SAT-ish, I think of those episodes about the characters taking the SATs on Disney channel of Boy Meets World or Sister, Sister that I used to watch when I was like 8. Judging by how bad they made it seem, I'm surprised I'm as calm as I am.

Anyway, I got my first paycheck yesterday. $26.20! I should've gotten more but someone said they only pay you for a weeks worth at a time. I really should have double that, but I'll survive. The less money I have at a time, the less likely I am to spend it all on something stupid.

Life's been pretty good lately. A couple years ago my mom lost her job because she hadn't taken one of her required doctor board exams. So she's been sitting at home for a long time just studying. This whole time the only income we were getting was child support from my dad. With 3 kids at huge prep schools and 3 others at home that you have to take care of that doesn't really hold up.

We all told her to try to get another job while she was studying, but for some reason she wouldn't. So for the past few years we've pretty much been in financial ruin.

The week before I came back to school, she took it again and a couple of days ago she got her results back and she finally passed after 2 years. She was crying and everything. As a middle-aged woman, the last thing you want to do is put your life on hold, especially when you have 6 kids to raise.

So she's going to apply for her old job back and in the meantime, she finally took our advice and got a side job too. She's working as a substitute teacher for the school district. So finally I don't have to worry about my home situation. For a while, I thought we were going to lose our house. It's really nice to know that everything's going to be fine after 2 years of being worried.

Life at school is boring. You really can't have any fun at boarding school. Well anymore fun than sitting in a friend's room and watching a DVD or sitting in the student center and talking. It's a very monotonous place I've come to realize.

Hopefully something will happen to liven up my year because I have 2 months before I'm going home XD

Yeah this post is kind of late in the day, but I guess it's better than nothing.

First off, I will give Vicky a.k.a. Burningdeamon a humungous thank you. Long story short, she got me a copy of HP7, so I can finally read it.

We all know how I'm going to spend my night =]

I'm trying to save up money so I won't have to be begging my parents every 10 minutes. So I got a job. I sit in the student center's game room (it has pool, air hockey, foosball, and stuff like that) and monitor people to make sure everything stays calm.

I started on Sunday and the whole entire time I was there, only 2 people came in. So I just did homework. Haha, sounds like a good deal if you ask me. $6.50 an hour for pretty much just sitting.

Unfortunately I can only work 4 hours a week, but I guess it's better than nothing. I'm not sure how often I'm going to get a paycheck.

Hopefully soon because I have friend's birthdays coming up...

Speaking of birthday, happy birthday to Shanny. Hope it was a good one ^____^

Short post, but I guess short and sweet is always best. I'll stop by soon and hopefully find time to change the layout soon because I'm getting sick of it XD As usual...

Hey MyO!! How is everyone? Hope you're well.

Anyway, this time I actually have time to type out a real post and comment too. How exciting.

Well the first few weeks have been okay. Just an extention of last year I've realized. Just with a few new faces around.

On Monday we had a day off classes to have dorm bonding activities. Some went to the beach, some went shopping, stuff like that.

Well my dorm faculty decided to be lame and make us go apple-picking. It wasn't that apple-picking itself is lame, it was just that instead of actually getting to pick apples, we helped out and picked all the rotten apples off the ground. Yeah, I know, it was helpful, but you can only imagine how gross.

You see all those cute, little cartoons with the worm crawling out of the apple. Yeah, if you only realized how disgusting that looks in real life...

After that, our proctors (or prefects as they're known in like Harry Potter and stuff XD) organized a game for us to play. That was fun. We went back to campus and did a town/school scavenger hunt.

That was a lot of fun. We were running around like crazy and doing the most ridiculous things. One was to find "the hottest guy in town" so we flagged down some random guy on a bike and scared him half to death taking pictures of him. It was embarrassing... but fun at the same time.

Afterwards we tallied up scores (sadly my team didn't win) and some people made pies and other baked goods with the apples we picked. Oh yeah, after picking up rotten ones for an hour we got about 5 minutes to get ones for ourselves.

Overall, it was a fun day. After I washed the grossness of rotting fruit from my hands.

Not much else to say. Only had 2 classes today (My school has a kinda college-like schedule. Some days you'll have lots of classes and days like today I'll have only 2) so I'll have to time to visit!! Yay!

Hey everyone!! First week of school down, only like a bajillion more to go.

I hope everyone is doing well. I'm trying to get on at least every other day and visit a few sites and then get to the people I miss later.

I don't want to have to go on a huge long hiatus like I did last year!! And loads of people are quitting and I don't want to do that either =[

Anyway, the first week was okay. Got to reunite with people. Truthfully there were only about 3 people I was excited to see. Some people I completely forgot about actually XD

There's a bunch of new freshmen/sophomores in my dorm and I still haven't gotten the chance to get to know them actually. Need to get working on that.

Well I have class in about 5 minutes so I gotta get going!! I'll stop by later today!

Almost that time of the year again...

Yep, school's starting! Ahh! One more day of freedom and then I'm back on a plane to New Hampshire (boarding school, ugh).

You would think boarding school would be fun. Away from parents. Our time completely to ourselves once classes our out. Away from our parents! In other words, college with a curfew.

But nope, everyone's too boring!!

I'm hoping it's going to change this year now that we're not freshmen anymore, but my sister says that it doesn't -___-

Summer was fine. Got to see almost everyone I wanted to see. Got out of the house, got to shop! It was good. It's sad to see it go, but it's about time.

All my friends from home are back in school and so are most of my friends on myO. Everyone's complaining about homework and teachers and I'm still sitting around in front of the television. For the first time, I want to have homework too!

Rather than that, this week has been busy, busy, busy trying to get all together. Going tomorrow to get my driver's permit! Going to the hair salon, going to use a gift certificate I found while I was cleaning my room, and have to pack all of my things!

Then on Thursday, I'm back in smalltown New Hampshire. I might have to disappear from myO for months at a time again!! Nooo...

Let's hope the homework isn't that bad and I get to sneak by here at least once a week even if only to visit.

Well we have one more day to worry about that. So for now I'm going to enjoy my last day of freedom!!

Heyyy everyone!

What's up? Hope everyone is doing alright.

I really don't have much to talk about. Sunday was my mom's birthday! So after church, where I saw like a jillion old middle school buddies (well more like 4 actually), we went to lunch. My little sister, she actually used to be a member on here too (shippo323 if any of you guys remember that from way back in the day), is applying for boarding school this year. Pretty much the whole lunch conversation revolved around that.

My family is really big on good grades. For most of my sisters, it's no big deal. Shippo323 though had this huge math issue for the past 2 years until she finally decided to drop down a level in math. But that time she spent in the higher class brought down her GPA a lot so all the boarding school's are going to see that.

And to top it all off, she's a social butterfly. Friends with everyone, ready and willing to get into all that nonsense middle school drama and whatnot. Don't get me wrong, it's good to have close friends, but I think once you get past 20 close friends, you've gone too far.

All of last year, she was partying and not studying and when I would tell her, she would just shrug it off as me trying to "bring down her fun." Now she's stressing about getting into boarding school and even trying to get me to write her admissions essays -__-

If only she had listened to the voice of reason...

Anyway, back to my own drama. Well I was watching... don't laugh boy meets world today (if you don't know that show... all I can say is wow. It was a 90s classic. You missed out) and the episode in a nutshell was about losing friends. and in the past year, as a lot of you may know, since I spend most of my time away at boarding school instead of home, I've lost a lot of friends.

At one point, I got into the mentality of contacting them when i got back in town and leaving it in their hands, thinking I "shouldn't have to fight to keep my friends". But I realized something from that dumb little 90s sitcom. If they're you're good friends, you should be willing to fight. We had some good times back in the day (well, more like a year ago) and it sucks that we haven't really gotten to reconnect.

From now on i'm going to take the initiative. It's kinda late at night though, so I guess it'll have to wait until tomorrow. A phone call never killed anyone.

Too bad I didn't realize this until a week before i have to leave!

Anyway, there's Vanessa's life lesson of the week: friends are important!

I think I may be watching too much sitcoms these days...

[ edit ]

Now I feel like I'm contradicting myself... saying my sister's stupid for being too into the whole friend thing and then thinking I'm stupid for not XD

Wow, how life can be confusing.

New layout boys and girls!!

Yeah I know, I only posted twice with the old one. A few people told me it was messing up for them in Mozilla and for some reason, whatever I did with the codes, it wouldn't let me change any of the font colors! Just for that, I had to get rid of it XD

No worries though. I've been wanting to make a Cowboy Bebop layout for... ever pretty much and I finally got the chance. I'm in love with it. I've realized the only layouts I've made lately that I've actually liked were the Trigun and now this Cowboy Bebop one. I really have no clue why... maybe just because those animes will forever be my two favorites.

Anyway, nothing much going on with me. School starts in my town tomorrow for everybody, except me of course. I go to a boarding prep school in New Hampshire so I don't start for another 2 weeks. This time of the summer is definitely the most depressing.

Sometimes it's hard to realize that while I'm gone, all my friends' lives are going on and most of them have pretty much completely wiped me from their memories except when I tell them I'm back in town. Last year it was really horrible. Luckily on their first day of school, my laptop came in the mail so that brightened my bad mood. This year I don't think I have any surprises on the way so I'll just be sitting in front of the tv.

Oh well, I'm used to it now so it won't be as bad. All my good friends still talk to me and the good friends I've lost along the way... well I guess they weren't as good of friends as I thought.

I went back to my old middle school for my little sister's orientation night. It was so strange and hot because they didn't splurge for air conditioning.

About 2 teachers said hi to me. My old band teacher was so excited to see me. He picked me as his student of the year in 8th grade so he really loved me. Out of every teacher I've ever had in my life, I must say that he definitely helped me the most even though I didn't realize it at the time. He's kinda really kooky, but I had so much fun and learned so much in his class.

Too bad I didn't realize how much I was going to miss it until about... the last week of 8th grade.

Rather than that, I'm just going to try to think about going back to school myself. Unlike last year, I have friends to go back to! So that's encouraging. Just 2 more weeks...

Just wanted to stop by and make a post since it's been a little while.

Well, my family and I went to St. Louis to pick up my little sisters from the airport (they stayed behind in Florida after I left). Then we went shopping.

Since I live in a semi-small city (it's the 2nd biggest in Illinois after Chicago, but that's not saying much), there isn't much shopping you can do here besides the one mall. So we went to St. Louis and hit up the mall first thing. Even though we didn't even go to the Galleria or the St. Louis Mills which are two huge malls, the one we went to was still pretty intense.

Lots of stores I never even would've seen if I had stayed home. I spent a lot of money, but oh well. It's probably the only school shopping I'm going to do so I might as well splurge.

Finally went and saw Harry Potter 5. Wasn't as good as I would've hoped. It seemed to me that the makers were just trying to cram in all the needed information in a short amount of time.

The one thing I liked about the 4th movie was that there was extra stuff just for laughs or fun. There didn't seem to be more than one scene like that in the whole movie.

Pretty much every scene was completely necessary. Not that they should waste time, but it's nice to add a random event from the books just to spice it up.

Overall, it was okay. I fell in love with Luna in this one.

Anyway, rather than that, life has been uneventful. Enjoying summer while I can.

P.S. Sorry to anyone the layout is still being stupid to. It's working fine for me, but I'll work on it!
