Last night I truly lived up to my name. Well, lived up to my middle names. So far my mother has added "Messy" and "Accident-Prone" to my name since those two words describe me SO well. (I have a feeling more will be added in the future) >.< Last night she was teasing me about it as I was helping her with the dishes. As soon I said, "Yeah right! I'm not THAT messy!" I dropped the glass cup I was holding (my hands were soapy, ok!!). Next then I knew, I'm covered with hot soap water, spitting it out of my mouth and trying not to let the water get into my eyes. Oh to be laughed at while covered in bubbles. >.< At least the glass didn't break. Be thankful for the small miracles, ne?

Anyways, this is just a random post since I have both the time and energy!! Yay! Actually, I said I'd answer my question from two posts ago, so I will.

Question: What do you all think about the new additions to TheO? Now we’ve got Otaku Angels, trophies, a little intro center for newcomers, etc. Do you like these changes? Why or why not?

My answer: Well, I like the intentions behind the new features. I know Adam and the team are working on building this place up into a friendly, well-respected community, and I really appreciate all the effort they've put into this place. TheO (MyO included) really is a great place, and I love being a part of it.

I think the Otaku Angels thing is nice, but I think the title should be HARD earned, and the person should have to continuously work at keeping that title. I don't like it when people help others just for a stupid title. I mean really, what's the point of even helping if it's all for selfish gain? I consider that type of "help" to be more like using (negative connotation).

The trophies thing doesn't thrill me much. I mean, it's nice to be awarded for hard work, but I noticed the trophies have more to do with quantity instead of quality. Doesn't that defeat the purpose of even having a trophy? Wouldn't that mean we'd all get ruby trophies once we submit enough stuff?

I have mixed feelings about the new members intro thing that clogs our backroom. It's nice that people can introduce themselves, and I know I appreciated all the help when I first joined TheO, but I don't really like the link being in our backroom. It's like I'm obligated to help people, which just turns me off from helping (that sounds mean but it's true). Before, when you joined, you had to go out and make friends, actually put out the effort to know people. Now you sit back and expect people to come to you, which is a good and bad thing.

Bah. I don't know. Like I said, I like the intentions behind the new features, but I'm still chewing on them. I think it's going to take me a while to actually get used to the features before I can really accept them. One thing I ABSOLUTELY LOVE though is the bday alerts!!! I'm ALWAYS forgetting birthdays, even when I write them down on my calendar! So having a pm sent to me is just awesome. So is the dedication alert. I like that too. ^.^

Anyways...

Oh!! I just wanted to say CONGRATS to Rachel (mewmewlover55) for winning the grand prize for the Vday contest!! *throws confetti in the air* Her entry was beautiful, and I thought all her hard work was well worth it!! I also give a huge round of applause to Kasey-chan (theblackERspot)!!!! I thought her entry was gorgeous!! I'm glad she got an honorable mention!! ^.^

And thus concludes my post. Have a great week everyone!!

Le GASP!! Yes, this is a post during a weekend. I can’t remember the last time I did one during a weekend; normally I’m too busy to even get on my computer!

So anyways…

HAPPY VALENTINES DAY!!!! Even if you don’t have a special someone to celebrate today with, you should spend some time with your family and friends. After all, you love them too, right? So what are you all planning for today?

Me? Nothing. Absolutely nothing. I swear its pure bliss not having anything to do for once. Normally, I can’t stand that, but this week has been so crazy that I’m just thankful for not having anything to do. Seriously. I even got to sleep in today!!! I got up at 10am!! 10AM!!! OMG!! I normally get up at 6am on weekdays and 7am on the weekends, so getting up at 10 was like Christmas Day for me.

I’m so pathetic. >.<

So how was everyone’s week? Mine, like I said before, was really busy, so that’s why I haven’t commented much. Now that I’m actually doing that service learning project (where I help high school students fill out the FAFSA form), things have been really crazy. Thursday was my first time doing the project. I had to go to a high school in Ewa Beach, a town right next to mine. Sad thing is I’d never been down there before even though it’s a ten minute drive from my house. Ha ha! So anyways, I had no idea where the school was (thank goodness for MapQuest), and I was worried about getting at the school on time. I work in Mililani, which is a lot farther from Ewa Beach, and Ewa Beach has only one road leading in and out of the place. Naturally, traffic going into Ewa in SLOW. It took me 20 minutes to get to Ewa and 40 minutes to actually get to the school. Yup. Traffic was that bad. I mean, it took me 40 minutes to go less than five miles!!! So anyways, when I actually found the school, I got scared when I saw all the entrance gates closed! I was like, “Did I get the wrong date? This is the right school, right??” I ended up parking waaaaaayyyy in the back then walking all through the school trying to figure out where we were supposed to meet. (Stupid thing was no one told us where the financial aid stuff was supposed to be held). I finally found the right building, and was so surprised to find I was the first person there!! Then when we were done helping the students, the director freaked out when she heard I parked in the back. Apparently me walking through the school at 7pm is no good. What? A girl in business clothes not intimidating enough?? >.< So the director drove me to my car. Ha ha!! Hopefully the next school won’t be like that.

In other random news, we had a small tornado touch down on my island. It was really weak, but still, just the thought that we actually get tornados in Hawaii kinda freaked me out. So for those of you who’d like to live here, consider this: we get every natural disaster. Hurricanes, tornados, earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, floods, wild fires, thunder/lightning storms, and tsunamis. The price to live in paradise, ne? >.<

In regard to art, I decided to join an art contest. I’ve got until April to finish my entry, so I think I’ll manage. Besides, I’ve already got the basic lineart done, and I’m having lots of fun with it! Also, I got a small art piece done yesterday and just put it up for submission. I figured I needed to poke fun at all the stress. >.<

Thanks for stopping by!! See ya around!

[Edit: I just realized I never answered my own questions from my last post. Since this one is long enough, I'll give my opinions on the new features on TheO on my next post, which may be Monday or Tuesday.]

Hello all!

Wow… It’s been, what, two weeks since I last put up a post? Heh heh… Sorry about that. I know I said in my last post that I’d visit everyone on Friday, but I ended up getting called into work. Then I spent the whole weekend paying for it through school work. I finished my last assignment late Sunday night, only to get piled on again the following Monday. -___- Oh well. Life goes on.

So this past Friday, I made sure I didn’t get called into work!! It was crazy busy in the office last week. One of my coworkers was on vacation since her sister was visiting. Another coworker was out sick the whole week. Then the coworker who I share the workload with goes to college full-time as well, so she gets Wednesdays and Thursdays off for school. Guess what days were insanely busy? =_= Yup. The days when it was just my boss and I. So, I felt I deserved a Friday off, which wasn’t much of a break considering I spent all day on school work. Still, it was so worth it. I actually had free time on the weekend!!!

Question: What do you all think about the new additions to TheO? Now we’ve got Otaku Angels, trophies, a little intro center for newcomers, etc. Do you like these changes? Why or why not? I’m just curious about what people think, and I’ll give my opinions in my next post.

Oh! Thanks to those who commented on my wallpaper! You all are so sweet! ^.^ *gives hug to everyone* I’m thinking about making ecards, so I’m trying to come up with some ideas. Hopefully I can get one made for Valentine’s Day!

You know, I swear I have things to talk about. Then when I actually start writing a post, I can’t remember anything. Bah.

That’s right!! Remember how I have lots of friends in the military? Well, they all work with black hawk helicopters. One of my friends ended up doing an emergency landing last Monday, and he made it on the news. Here’s the LINK. My friend is the one talking on the phone. I found out later that he was telling his wife, who’s going to school in the mainland, about the situation. I’m just really glad he and his crew are all right!!

I’m planning on visiting people around TheO and MyO every night, but it all depends on my work load. I start my service learning project this month. You see, I have to spend at least fifteen hours going to different high schools and helping high schoolers fill out financial aid forms for college. All the sessions are in the afternoons or evenings, so I’m not sure how energetic I’ll be when I get home. I may not comment on the days I do the project. Still, I’ll try to comment more often.

Have a great week, everyone!!

This is a pretty popular video, so I'm not sure how many of you have already seen this. Still, it's pretty funny! I was so laughing watching this guy dance. Check it out.

Hello all. Sorry for not commenting much this week. Needless to say, I've been busy. I'm actually sneaking this post in before I head off to work.

So how has everyone been? For those who got Monday off, did you enjoy it? Do anything exciting or just relax?

Me, I just relaxed all day and hung out with my friends. I was going to spend Monday commenting and put up a post. It turned out that I spent most of the day out of the house, so that didn't work. >.< The best laid plans... It was worth it though. I watched Eagle Eye, which I aboslutely LOVE!! I think Shia LaBeouf did a fantastic job in that movie, and I'm really looking forward to seeing more movie with him in it. I hear Transformers 2 is comming out soon. I may not be a big Transformers fan (or super hero fan for that matter), but I want to see it because Shia's in there.

I think someone asked me how big my university was (Anna, was that you?), and I have to say that it's REALLY small. Like...my biggest class size is only 40 students, and we only have two small buildings for classes. >.< I actually prefer smaller classes anyway since it's more personal. The teachers actually know who you are.

Well, I won't be able to comment and stuff today since I'm working, but I'll try to get around tomorrow. I never did put up that sketch, so I'll to submit that tomorrow as well. I'm also considering doing a wallpaper with a Shia LaBeouf theme. Ha ha! I'm so impressionable...

Have a great day everyone! See ya around!

ROFL!! Oh my goodness, you have to listen to this. I'm not a beer drinker, but when I saw this commercial, I laughed my head off. Why? Because it's SO TRUE!!! Bwa ha ha ha!! I see these "real men of genius" driving by my house all the time. It's too funny. >.<

Yes, yes, I know. It's been a while since I last posted and commented on here. I'm sorry. School started yesterday so things have been pretty crazy lately. Actually, I know a lot of people have started school already, so you all know what it's like! >.<

Gah! I feel like I haven't been here in ages! How bad is that?

Anyways, I think I'm going to like my new classes so far. I've got two classes on Mondays and Wednesdays: Business Finance and Financial Accounting. My finance teacher is great. He's an old German guy who escaped from Nazi and Communist Germany, so he's got plenty of stories to tell. I just love listening to his heavy accent (he's still got one after living in Hawaii for over thirty years!!). And he taught us a German word: fingerspitzengefuhl, which means good judgement. Lol! Yes, he tied the word in with our finance lesson, so it's not just random info! >.<

Then my accounting teacher is the same one from last semester (different course though), so I know she'll be great. We've got a TON of work to do for this class, which I'm not really looking forward to but oh well. We've also got to do a service learning project or write a 20 page research paper at the end of the semester. I decided to do the project because there's no way I'd willing do a research paper!!

Then I've got Marketing and Management Information Systems, two other classes that I'm taking online. They're ok. One teacher I had last semester for Statistics, and he's cool. Then the other teacher I've never met, but I figure I will later. >.< My university is really small. Speaking of which, most of the people in my classes I've met already, so I have friends!! Yay to friends!! >.< Ha ha! I'm so lame.

So anyways, that sums up my school stuffs. I know I'm going to be really busy this semester with school and work (increasing hours again) so I'm not sure how much I'll be on here. I'll try to post and comment when I can, but no guarantees. Since I work part time, I'm supposed to get Tuesdays and Fridays off, but my boss has already said they'll call me in when it gets busy, which they've done on several occassions. No worries though. I don't mind. ^.^ Just means a bigger paycheck!! >.<

As for my art...ha ha! I died. I can't draw anything or make any new wallpapers. I just don't have the time anymore. I do have one sketch I did a while ago, but I haven't gotten around to submitting it yet. Not really sure when I will.

Let's see.. OH!! As you can see, my site is working now!!! YAY!! It's a HUGE thanks to Sparkle-chan, who really helped me out!!! So, credit goes to her for making the post boxes and stuff work properly! THANK YOU SPARKLE-CHAN!!!!!

Yup. So that's pretty much it. I'm planning on commenting a little before heading off to work, so a few of you may hear from me. ^.^

See ya around!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!!!

It's officially 2009 here in Hawaii. I just finished watching my whole neighborhood pop off all their fireworks, and now the air is so thick with smoke, it looks like fog. Seriously, I can barely see my neighbor's house across the street. My uncle is taking pictures, so I'll get some from him and show you guys.

Anyways, I hope you all had a great celebration. I didn't do much on New Year's Eve, except go to the market to buy some fresh sea food and veggies. I'm going to make a Chinese soup and stirfy for our New Years lunch. The soup required a base, which I made on New Year's Eve. Pretty easy, except for the whole plucking the chicken thing. You see, we have a lot of yard chickens we keep around the house, and apparently my neighbor accidently ran over one (crushed the poor thing's head). So instead of letting a perfectly good chicken go to waste, I ran home real quick and plucked it, then I had my dad show me how to properly gut it. >.< Kinda icky business, but now I know how to prepare a chicken!! (Sorry if I grossed anyone out. I've lived on a farm in Missouri for a few years, so that kinda thing doesn't bother me much.)

Anyway, I'm not sure if I'll get around to commenting later today. After I get a few hours of sleep, I'm fixing lunch then heading out to work with my brother. He needs help painting a roof, so I'm going to help him. That job will take a few hours, so I'm not sure how energetic I'll be tonight. Most likely you all won't hear from me until Friday.

Let's see...Oh! Before I go, I need help with one tiny thing. Sparkle-chan, I know you've given me the html code to make a post box go to the left. I tried it out on the post boxes and imeem playlist, but they won't move properly! More specifically, my intro box won't move to the left properly, and the rest just stubbornly refuses to move. T.T I spent so many hours working on this site, and I got so mad when nothing was working right. If anyone has any pointers, I'd appreciate it. I wanted a new layout for the New Year, but unfortunately, this was all I could do! [Originally, L was going to be the theme but I couldn't come up with any good ideas for a wallpaper. Alas!!]

All right. I'll shut up now.

Best wishes to you all on 2009!!

Edit: I just realized something. The links to the your backroom and stuff is in the introduction. You have to scroll down to see them. Bah! I'll fix that later. -____-

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!!!!!!!!

Ok, so for a lot of you, you're day is almost finished. You've probably opened some presents, done a few family traditions, and generally getting ready for the big day. As for me, my day is just getting started, so I'm all excited for Christmas Eve! Oh, what to do, what to do?!! Wait...I just thought of something. Most of you are going to have Christmas before me!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WAH!!!!!! Not fair!!! T.T

So what am I going to do today? Um...I think help my mom get some food ready for tomorrow. We're going all out on the Filipino foods, so I gotta help her prepare. Plus, we make some dishes like lumpia (eggrolls) for all our neighbors, which takes several hours to do. Ugh... Last year I made about two hundred eggrolls, and I think it's the same this year!

Ooops! Before I forget: THANK YOU everyone for commenting and welcoming me back from my break! You all don't know how much that meant to me. It felt so good to have a warm welcome. You all are so great!! *huggles everyone*

Ok, so, what have I been up to lately? Um... Friday was work but it was a dead zone in the office, so my coworkers sent me home. Actually, when they found out I hadn't done my Christmas shopping, they scolded me and sent me out the door. They told me going home was not an option; I had to do my shopping!! >.< So I kidnapped my brother and took him shopping with me. I didn't find a present for my dad, since he bought his own present (he just couldn't wait, could he??), which means my brother and I are going to reimburse him. That way we can say we "bought" my dad's present. I also didn't buy my mom anything because I'm making her present. I'm painting her portrait, and it's taking freak'n FOREVER!!! GAH!! I'm hoping to get it done by the 29th, which is my mom's bday. As for my brother, he's getting a new pellet gun, so I bought his ammo. He so loves me now, especially since I bought him several thousand pellets (only $23 so I don't mind).

What am I getting for Christmas? Nothing! Ha ha! At least, nothing from my family. They kept asking me what I wanted, and I kept telling them I didn't want anything, which is true. I don't need anything, so I told them to save up their money. I want a new car as my college graduation gift. Hee hee!!

Saturday was filled with cleaning and retarded people. >.< The bridge next to my house has been closed since the flooding, and some retarded people went ahead and crossed it. With semitrucks. Filled with people. It was a privately held Christmas parade. -_____- How stupid is that?!!! The bridge is structurally dangerous and you want to drive over it with semis!!!!! As if all the warning signs IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD weren't enough. So the cops came and put the signs back in place because the retarded people ACTUALLY MOVED THEM OUT OF THE WAY to cross the bridge.

Then Sunday was filled with church and playing Rook. I got owned. T.T

Monday was crazy. My mom wanted to go shopping. SHOPPING!!! T.T I don't like to shop, and my mom LOVES to shop. So, I spent four hours dealing with ridiculously lone check out lines, crazy drivers, crazy shoppers, packed parking lots, and slow traffic. The only good thing from Monday was that I was able to get the Christmas gifts for my coworkers. >.<

Yesterday was normal but boring. Just work. It's ok though since yesterday is the only day I'll be working this week!! How cool is that?!!! Since I work part-time, I have Mondays and Wednesdays off. [I had those days off for school, and since spring semester I have classes on Mondays and Wednesdays as well, I'll be keeping the same work schedule.] Then Thursday is Christmas, so the office is closed. Then Friday my boss is giving everyone the day off and she'll work in the office by herself! She says she figures business will be really slow, so there's no reason for us to be there. YESH!!!! I love my boss. She's the definition of awesome. ^.^

So yeah, that's my "exciting" life. >.< And if you just read all that, I give you a cookie!! Oh! As for the family that got flooded out of their home, they're moving back into their home today!! We all worked overtime to get their house repainted, refloored, and new furniture put in. Even though the family pretty much lost everything, we were able to get new stuff for them. I think it's such a blessing they can move into their home on Christmas Eve!! Yay!

Well, I'm off to finish my commenting. Everyone have fun with friends and family today and tomorrow!

Poem of the Day:

Christmas Fun

The tempting gifts are tantalizing;
About opening them, we are fantasizing.
The holiday foods are appetizing;
Our excitement and joy are growing and rising;
Our hearts and minds are harmonizing;
Jolly Christmas fun we're maximizing!

HELLO EVERYONE!!!!!!

Yes, I’m back. After my long, long (ok, so maybe not that long but it seemed like it to me) break from TheO, I’m finally back. Yesterday was my last final exam, and I think I just burnt every brain cell in my head on it. So now I’m stress free, looking forward to Christmas break, and ready to start a new year. And I’m very, very glad to be back. I missed you all so much!!!

So what have I been up to? Umm…nothing much except school. Yes, dreaded school. The last few weeks were pretty intense with studying and finishing up several papers. Work has been kinda busy, and I’m now studying to be licensed to sell insurance, so I’m still in study mode. I’ve gotta really hit the books because my boss wants me to have my license by the end of January. +___+ As for the piano lessons, my students are practicing like crazy. I originally wanted them to have their recital this coming Sunday, but they’re not ready. I moved it to Wednesday night, which is Christmas Eve and a bit more appropriate in my opinion. They are playing Christmas songs after all.

Let’s see…what else. Oh! Last weekend it rained big time in Hawaii. Our whole island was put under a flash flood watch all day Thursday and Friday. Crazy with all the rain (still cloudy today too). Unfortunately, we live next to a stream, which flooded and carried all the water onto our property. To give you an idea of how high the water went, there’s a small bridge that goes over the stream. The bottom of the bridge is about ten feet above normal water levels. The flood water went over the bridge, causing the city to close the bridge down. And at my neighbor’s house, the waters rose over six foot. My neighbors got flooded out of their home, and pretty much lost everything. So now, they’re staying at our house while we’re helping them clean up their house and repair things. It’s a muddy, icky mess but things are coming along. I’m just glad everyone is safe, and now we’re all working together like a family.

If you want to see some pictures, you can visit this website. It’s my church website, so you can see some pics of the property, the flooded house, and the family that’s staying with us. Oh yeah, and the bald white dude standing next to the old Quonset hut is my dad. >.<

So yeah, it’s kind of a bummer with them loosing stuff right before Christmas. So our goal is to fix up their house so they can move back in on Christmas day. We’re also helping them buy all new clothes, furniture, etc, and we’ve had lots of friends help with donations. It’s really sweet how people help each other out. So we’re still being blessed and blessing others, despite all the turmoil going on. ^.^

On to other things…oh! I also got some art done. I’m amazed I found the time, but I did get some pictures done. More realism stuff and totally not anime related. Still, I think I did better on them. I’ll post them up shortly.

Well, I think that’s just about it for now. I’ve got lots of catching up to do when it comes to commenting, so I’ll be busy with that before I head off to work. I missed commenting on people’s posts and art. I missed you all that much!! And as for MyO site, I'm not gonna change it to a Christmas theme. By the time I get all the html coding done, Christmas will be done and it's 2009!!! >.< So the new playlist will have to do for now. If anyone has any Christmas song requests, let me know and I'll add on the song to the playlist.

So yeah, everyone have a great week. I hope you are all looking forward to Christmas (for those that observe) and New Years. I know I am!!

but that doesn't give me the right to be cruel.

I LIVE!!! That's right, I'm not dead, so you can't say a sudden death is the reason I haven't been around lately. Just blame school, work, and the upcomming piano recital for keeping me away. Sigh... Yeah, I'm sorry for not commenting on your posts and art. I've hardly had any personal time, and it's so catching up with me. =__= <-- what I really look like

I think I'm going to take a break from TheO and MyO until my school semester is over. (Err...my recent absence doesn't count!) I've only got a few weeks left of school and I really need to focus on final exams. So, I probably won't be back until mid-December. By then, having school out of the way will really clear up my schedule, even with me working on the annual Christmas recital I put my students through. This year I think I'm comitting musical suicide by turning "O Holy Night" into a trio, which includes writing out the music (by hand) for three people to play at the same time. Gah!!! I know there's probably sheet music out there, but I want to challenge myself and see if I can do this (I'm insane, I know it). I'm almost done anyway...

So yeah, this is a temporary hiatus. I promise to do lots of commenting and stuff when I get back. Until then, everyone have a great Thanksgiving (for those that observe it)!! ^.^

Oh yeah, before I forget:

HAPPY BIRTHDAY KELSEY!!!!!!! *throws confetti*

Hello all my dear friends! How was your weekend? Filled with candy and parties? Mine was pretty normal, except I've been watching lots of movies. Chinese films to be more exact, which I rented from Blockbuster (I love it how our local Blockbuster is filled with foreign films).

On Friday night I watched "Re-cycle," which is kinda scary. It's not a horror movie but it's got parts in there that really spook you. I have to admit, it's my total favorite so far! The story is awesome and the ending completely took me by surprise. I even cried towards the end. >.< There were some corny parts to the movie, like the zombie people, which looked pretty fake (I just laughed when I saw them). Still though, I really enjoyed the movie.

On Saturday night I watched "Mongol," which is more like a documentary on the early life of Genghis Khan. Not the most exciting movie, but it provides a good insight on the Mongolian life and culture of that time period. Let's just say I'm sooooooo thankful I wasn't born as a Mongolian in that time period. They had a TOUGH life.

Then lastnight I watched "Legend of the Black Scorpion," which is supposed to be a loose adaption of Hamlet. I liked the movie well enough. Everything had a dancing quality to it, especially the fighting scenes. The storyline was interesting, if not filled with deceit, murders, and sad endings. Your typical court life in ancient China.

Wow...I didn't mean to turn this post into a movie review!! >.< Maybe I'm subconsciously practicing for my next English essay (I have to compare and contrast two movies).

Anyways, to blatantly change the subject, I'm not going to be commenting much today. I've got a test to study for...which I take tonight. Ha ha!! Yes, this is procrastination at it's finest. So I've decided to confine myself to my room and study all day. Doesn't that just sound oh-so exciting!!!!!!!! Of course you're jealous that I'll be studying about statistics all day because we all know that finding probablities and calculating the standard deviation by hand is the most exciting thing ever!!! [Am I making you barf with my sarcasm?]

Anywho, you all have a great day and great week. You'll hear from me later. ^.^

Because I like this movie and I love this song. Besides, I heard Russell Crow spent a year taking violin lessons just to play this song.
