Happy New Year! (Say what?)

Yes, you heard it right... I'm greeting you, again.

January 26, 2009 is the start of the Chinese New Year, and 2009 is the year of the brown Ox.

And since I am from the year of the Ox as well... Things does not bode too well for me...

According to Chinese Zodiac, if the zodiac sign of birth year is same to the zodiac sign of yearly cycle, then that's an unlucky year to the person. Many troubles will come to bother the person. The person needs to manage events with caution at work, at home or traveling to avoid argument, lawsuit, accident, libel, blooding and money loss.

Fortune: Cow people always have unsatisfied events in every Cow year. The fortune in career, wealth. health, love and family will below expectation in 2009. But you don't have to despair or give up. In your career, you just have to hold on your job position, keep your profile low, work harder for your daily job. You need to follow your financial plan and do not waste unnecessary expense. You need to remember to show the care and love to your family members, spouse or lover. You also have to watch your own health. In this case, you will have a peaceful the year of the Cow.

So... to all of you out there, "Kung Hei Fat Choi"
(Congratulations and be prosperous)

And if you're interested where I got that sort of stuff... Here, I'll share the links... ^_^

Sorry, but I'll be moving

I'm sure some of you have noticed, but I have created a new world, using my last available slot... I have created an equivalent for MyOtaku's Quiz Manager...

Why did I do such a thing?
First off, I like taking quizzes... I have really liked this site from the quizzes. My early MyOtaku posts were quizzes. (However, since I did not know how to do much back then, I grouped them all in one post, which I kept editing... XD)

So, you might understand why I was one of the few people who freaked when the first Guru quizzes disappeared...

Second, MyOtaku's Quiz Manager updates does not get any alerts. For all everyone knows, I am not taking quizzes and placing them in my Manager... Actually, I do.

And Last, I want to show people what results I get. One of my personal rules in quizzes is that I try to take them as honestly as possible, applying them to myself. Plus, I rarely (and I really mean rarely) retake quizzes just because I did not like the result. I think the last one I can remember was when I got a female result. That shocked the hell out of me... so I retook the quiz.

I think these quiz results also show others what kind of a person we are - though they may not be as accurate.

So, yeah, I made my Quiz Manager World. No good title made yet, just Quiz Results. It can also take advantage of the comments. Fun. :P

So, uh, I'll be apologizing in advance to people subscribed, if I get the time to dump all of my quiz results. Yeah, I'll be moving my quiz results to The Otaku Worlds. Don't worry, at the most, I'll not post more than 10 in a day...

Well, see you around! ^_^

Why talk about laps?

Went off and bought my printer yesterday... I went ahead with the more expensive, yet heavy-duty, as well as cheap on the supplies, Epson dot-matrix type printer.

I felt a bit secure now that I can easily print any report or projects at home. No need to go and rush so I can print it before I get home. ^_^

While in the shop, I also inquired about the laptops available. Since I bought a tad expensive printer, as well as be paying for my sisters tuition, my funds have been set back by a lot.

Nevertheless, I still took a look at what good laptops are available, and what price they have.

Most of the available notebooks and laptops were cheap. Their brands were Acer and Neo laptops. I'm not so sure about them... Good thing I saw that they also have Presario (Presario CQ40-S10AU) and Toshiba (S L300-P510) laptops. I took interest in the two and asked the techguy about them.

From the price view, Toshiba was more expensive, by more than around a hundred dollars. The HP Presario got more features - like a video card and a blue tooth. As for processing capacity, both seem to be at the same level. The Toshiba got a 15.4" screen while the HP got 14.1".

I don't know much about purchasing this kind of equipment, though I know weight and battery life is considered.

I'm a bit undecided as to which to aim for, though I am leaning more towards the Toshiba, due to the brand name.

Though, after a short talk with Wallet, he said to me that I'll take a while before acquiring a next fund release... And by the time he will give me said cash, Wallet told me that there might be better models at that price range.

I told Wallet that he should at least let me consider what brand to go for. Wallet did not give me a reply.

Anyway, what is your opinion on the matter? Thanks.

Well, would you look at that...

So, weekend... let's see...

Weekend Class
Report did not go too well. I was not that prepared for it. Aside from that, our Prof kept interrupting me at every possible moment (specially during pauses), inserting some sort of related story...

In a way, it was a good diversion. I used the time he was speaking to either write something on the board or read my copy and think of a script...

The downside is that it sort of ruins your train of thought...

I rate my report as a failure. Ah, at least it was done.

Other Stuff
We went to a friend's house to celebrate a birthday. Mostly eating and get-together... Nothing too interesting.

What really caught my interest was this old church in their town. I was a bit amused as to how that ancient-looking church got spliced with modern amenities like electricity and sound system.

You could actually see where the wires ran through the horizontal mortar, as well as where some bricks were cut-up and some wirings were placed inside...

*Dug through Google...*

Ah, found an image on-line... :D

Bah, there's some problem with the site, so I don't have anymore info... Not even interior shots...

Well, that's all for now. See you around! ^_^

First 2009 Graphic Worm Entry

Hello everyone! How are you all doing? Fine, I hope...

Now, as the title says, I have just submitted my Graphic Worm for the 2009...

Graphic Worm Page

Now, I'd like to explain the concept a bit. At first, I had no idea what I was going to make... the previous image seemed a bit too colorful for me to continue on...

Then, I got an idea... The previous image used Music as the subject... or something like that, at least. Music Piracy jumped on my head. Then I thought, why not use One Piece? Since it was all bright and colorful, I thought, why not use Luffy's bright smile... XD Anyway, by placing the line of text in there, I made a statement that Luffy and his crew are a different kind of pirate, as well as also stating that they are not Music Pirates.

What do you think? ^_^

MyOtaku test fail...

It seems that The Otaku's Time Zone thing did not carry over to My Otaku...

That was what was being tested by Adam.... as well as what I tested in my sites...

Heck, if I could get my hands on MyOtaku I'd probably be tweaking it a lot... Although I'm not so sure what will it's effects be on other people's custom sites.

I think I understand what Adam meant long ago. Upgrading MyO will be tough. Too bad we can't have it like Wordpress or something.

Be seeing you around next time.

Oh, almost forgot, I made a nifty little fiction, wherein I stole borrowed some ideas from some stuff I read from OB... I'm not very good at multi-part fiction, nor at making titles. I called it "The Great Escape." Though I doubt there is anything great about it. I haven't even submitted it for publication yet. Yeah, I lack confidence in that matter... Plus I don't know how the site handles multi-part works that are partially completed. If I edit it, and add a chapter, will my published work be edited as well, or will it not? Also, do members see updates of edited works? I don't know...

Uh - Test?

Imitating Adam, I decided to post a "test."

Now I get what he was testing... XD

Adam sure loves making members guinea pigs, without their consent... most of the time.

One Piece has taken over my free time. Having run out of the manga copy at home, I am now reading it via OneManga. I am still far away from catching up to the current chapters. Ah, but the pages are not that long. Probably before this week or the next week ends, I'll be up to date. Then it'll be the never-ending waiting period. That's the problem with current and unfinished series...

Yeah, because of that, I have not entered the chat in a while. If I do enter that chat, I'll probably end up sharing Adam's Delayed Reaction Powers. Not pretty.

And in connection with my previous post... Here's a photo of one of our public transportation system - transformed and rolling out... XD

Well, that's all for now, see you around!

Sorry, I don't feel like posting much about myself.

Uh, my report got rescheduled to next week. It's fine, at least.

Well, the week is done, and tomorrow, Saturday, will be the start of school after classes... And it kicks off with me doing some class report/discussion, too...

Anyway, if you guys can remember, I need to buy a new printer. I have the funds ready, and I think I will be purchasing an Epson LX300 II+ printer instead. I decided to go with a dot-matrix instead of ink jets. Even though it is much more expensive, the ribbon is very cheap. Plus, I do not have to worry about ink being wasted and drying up on me, for we seldom print at home... I hear they are also very durable. Hey, the printer that recently died on me was an old Epson dot matrix, as well. It was terribly slow, but the print quality was good. When the ribbon was new, it looked like the print came from ink jets. It was handed down to my by my cousin who upgraded his system. Unfortunately, the motor broke, so since no part is available, it's now dead...

Ah, it has been a tiring weekend. It was hard adjusting after that long vacation.

Well, see you around! ^_^

I'm Back! Vacation Summary

Wow, that was some long vacation we had! Two weeks without work. Cool.

Ah, but now I'm back in the rat race... I don't feel like it much. I still want to sleep! I had a hard time sleeping for I was afraid I would not wake up on time... That or I had too much sugar, hehehe...

Anyway, my vacation did not had much achievements - both work or school related... Sure, I had some time to friends and family, but Anime and Manga-wise, I was able to finish some...

I also managed to get indigestion from too much food. Good times... XD

At least I know that I did not miss episodes in One Piece. I confirmed them as I read the manga. I read more than 200 chapters of that series in a week or so... Wow... I still have lots to go... It makes me want to start downloading the anime again... The hundreds of episodes that I need to go through intimidates me... Ah, my poor hard disk will kill me for lack of disk space... I'm a pack rat when it comes to data and files... hahaha!

Well, that's all for now.
