Quick Weekender Post

Since I failed to post this on the weekend and I am currently buried in work, I'm going to make this quick.

First off, Woohoo! My promotion is legit!

As some of you might remember, I was worried some time ago about my promotion to Otaku Legend, seeing as how I got a PM saying I was promoted to Senior. To make matters worse, I was not able to see my name in the August promotions list. I recently mustered the courage to clear this up with Adam in the chat, and he said that I was, in fact, qualified for Legend. There was a problem with the mail that sent the wrong messages. Seniors got the Legend mail, and vice versa. My name was forgotten in the promo's list as well. He'll be including it the next month. Great! ^_^

Awesome Class Presentation
We had a reporting in our research class. While most people used PowerPoint, I have been using Flash for quite some time now. The recent one I made was not just an ordinary report where I'll be talking with a little visual aid via the presentation, I made it into an Audio-Visual Presentation.

It overwhelmed the class! It seemed they enjoyed it. It makes me feel great seeing as how it took me a week or two just to get the narration recorded and the music and visuals set up.

In conclusion:
It was a great weekend for me. Thanks for the great comments by the way.

See you around!

Bah... what a pain...

I hate it when people complain just so they can get off something they don't want... like when costumers, who, after every bit of explanation and talk and investigation and work, still insist that they are right and that the company is wrong.

That after their first complain is settled by the investigation, they won't admit it and complain on another matter, and still insist they are right...

That they keep on complaining and complaining and complaining... that they return and complain... Bah, this is testing my patience. And right when I have lots of stuff to do. I ought to kick the poor sod's butt into the next century just for testing my patience.

The customer is always right? Maybe... but if the customer is a pain in the butt and just wants to complain for the hell of it... I guess we can make an exception. Pitchforks, anyone?

See you around!

Alive!

Don't hold a funeral just yet, guys, I'm still alive and kicking...
It's just that I don't have anything much to post about. Yeah, my life is that boring... Besides, I don't want to trouble you with any of my daily troubles.

Just for anyone interested, thanks to a certain member of this site (*points to Nhez'*), I've been hooked to reading Vinland Saga... What can I say? I like the theme, Vikings and bloody fighting... The characters are a bit amusing, in my opinion. If you are a bit weak of heart, I wouldn't suggest you read it.

In case you're interested. Here.

See you around! ^^

Good ol' Memories

For some strange reason, I remembered this old telnet chat site that I used when I was in high school. I searched the site in the web - the name was shell-matrix.

There, I found it. I logged-in. I found out that my account was deleted because I have been inactive for a very long time. So I made a new account, but I used my same account setting back then.

It brought back memories. Though most were still stuck and I could not jog them out of my brain.

Later during the day, I logged back in and found the owner of the site. He seemed pleased that a new user was around and asked me how I got the site. I said that I was an old user of the site. He must have been happy for he promoted me instantly to a high user level. That saved me the trouble of staying for days and days hoping for the auto promote to kick in.

Well, I'll be dropping by that site every now and then. It's a Filipino maintained site, and some are from my region, so it's great. I can't relate much now because, unlike then when my friends were over there and active.

That's all for now. See you around!

and that was that!

I'm back from what seems to be a good long weekend.

I spent my Saturday lazily, catching up on some lacking z's, mainly because we didn't have classes.

We didn't have weekend classes because the department had a induction and acquaintance party Saturday night. It was not my kind of thing. Semi-formal and whatnot. Besides, I have only a few buddies in class so the rest of the time I was poking mushrooms in one corner trying not to get bored... which failed misserably, hehehe... Later that night, after dinner was served and some "games" was being held, I popped out of the place and went home.

Oh, my sister was able to borrow the last Potter book from their library and I was able to finish it in 2 nights and 1 day. So for the record, I was able to finish the entire series without needing to buy a copy of my own. I like the plot and stuff of the story, but I don't see the need of me having my own copy. It's cool that their library had a copy. For a moment when the last book was released, I thought I won't be able to finish the series. Interesting twist at the end. I did not see that one coming.

Oh, and my computer is being a dickweed because the direct3d is being a jerk. So my 3D games are on hold. I'm planning to replace my video card sometime soon. Hopefully, with a Vista compatible one, should I decide to upgrade my XP.

Well, that's all for now. Thanks for all the great comments. See you around.

well, what will we talk about today?

Call me a lazy bum if you want, but I really am not feeling up to getting up early in the morning.

I have to wake at around 5:30 just to be able to get to work at 8. Yeah, work is that far away, because there is no traffic along the way.

Don't you just hate it when just before you arrive at the bus stop, the bus you'll be riding just sped by, without a chance for you to make it stop because you are just too far away to be noticed?

Yeah, it happened to me today. Just because I was feeling like a lazy bum and not keen on getting to work. Because of that, I came in late. *shakes fist*

Oh, vacation coming this Monday again. It's the National Heroes Day commemoration. Thanks to all those brave men that fought for our country's freedom.

Well, I'll try to update nevertheless. I don't think I have much to do, anyway. Unless of course, something pops up.

Well, see you around! ^^

Sometimes I just disappear like that...

Actually, we had a long weekend thanks to a holiday being moved to the Monday. It's cool. I have been waiting for a vacation to drop in.

Yeah, spent my spare time watching anime, which happens to be HunterXHunter Greed Island, from a DVD my sister borrowed from a friend. It was a bit frustrating that the last episodes got damaged or something and does not play well... Dang, I'm downloading them just to be able to finish the story...

The downside of vacations is that they make me lazy... I tend to sleep late and, of course, wake up late as well. The longer the vacation, the more is my tendency to wake up late. I'm lucky I was not late for work today! I almost woke up late. XD

My weekend was not very productive. I had tons of plans, too. Drawing, and some projects was one of them. Blame it on games and anime... and of course, school.

Well, See you around!

Covert Ops are tough...

So yesterday... it started out awful. I woke up feeling like I never slept at all. Guess I was really exhausted.

Anyway, the day was the typical busy day with tons of stuff to process and people to handle.

Later that afternoon, my boss told me that I, along with someone, have to investigate on two of my people. Apparently there are complaints that they are leaving their collection posts early to do "extra" stuff. I hopped behind the motorcycle and off we went.

The first was presumed to be in a cockfight arena nearby and the other one at home while his partner does the job.

The first stop was the cockfight arena. Lots of people around. We searched the place and we did not saw the guy there. He must have slipped by or was never there...

Next, we went to the residence of the other guy. The way there was a bit rough - like going through a mountain, and we were on bikes, too. Exciting and fun? Yeah.

We found his house, and there he was, taking a break. He told us that they were already done with the job and now he's resting. I don't know if I could believe him. However, he did abandon his post 30 minutes early. So we got one to report.

We have not given up on the other guy. We tried to see if he is in the route he was supposed to be. It was a wonderful countryside ride. The streets are not well paved for most areas, though. This is just an ordinary town, and not a city, you know.

We looked around, and even went to his house, but no dice.

We again went to a different route trying to find the partner of the guy we found in his house, to see if he was telling the truth. It was a long ride. It was fun. The sun was not very hot. It was around 3 in the afternoon. The wind and the view was very relaxing. For a moment, it felt like I was having a leisurely drive, rather than looking for a personnel of ours in the field.

Looking for them in these time is hard. They are scheduled to be roving their designated areas. That's why we were going all over the place.

We did not find the guy. We went back and made our report. Upon reaching the office, we saw the "partner" we were looking for. He said they finished their job early so they went back. Guess the guy we saw was off the hook.

Oh, well, I had a fun time.

Wow... Anyway, some updates

I recently uploaded an artwork, and I got wonderful comments on it. Thanks everyone. I really appreciate what you wrote. I never thought I would be able to get reactions like that from other members of this site from what I made.

Now, things are starting to simmer down for me and apparently people did notice my disappearance.

I recently read a fanword made by Waywardwarrior, top 10 symptoms to prove you're a theotaku.com addict and it was a very fun read. I think you should go and check it out.

My friend The Mask is holding a fancomic contest on his Barbecue Sauce article. I suggest you try and give it a shot if you are into comic making.

Now, that ends my cheap plug on certain site matters... hehehe...

Oh, I remembered. Before I logged out of the chat yesterday, I mentioned what the word "sige" in Filipino means to Someguy. He had the idea that it meant 'good bye.' Now I'm not a language specialist on that topic, but I think I can shed some light on this one.

"Sige" (pronounced as si-geh, not si-gay) can mean a lot of things, depending on the usage. It is a common response to questions that can explicitly or implicitly mean asking permission. It usually means "Go ahead" or OK.

Example, if I ask "Can I eat this?"; you can say, "Sige" or "go ahead, go on, etc."

Now, I know why he (SG) thought it meant good bye. When Filipinos say they're going or leaving, it is a form of asking permission (implied, I guess.) So if I say, "I'll be going now." ('Aalis na ako.'), you can reply with "Sige". In English, I suppose it could mean, or you could say, "sure" or "OK."

Like I said, I'm not very good at these translations bit, so if anyone out there can shed more light on this topic, be my guest. ^^

See you around!

Stress is a bitch!

So sorry I haven't been able to visit your sites recently, guys. I've been pretty busy here recently. Meetings here and there, stuff with the personnel, then more stuff with customers.

I am having a hell of a time. I am still ready to go, though. Stress may have tripped me, but it's just a scratch and I am still good to go.

I even haven't been dropping by the chats.

Watching anime has been a great stress reliever for me. Last night however, I have been so dead tired that the moment I went home, after eating dinner and stuff, I immediately got to sleep.

I have finally gotten rid of some stuff of my "to-do" list, so I was able to visit some of you guys.

Sorry to those that have been pushed down the "updates" list since I wasn't around for a while.

See you around!

psst.... Do you know what gifts are? (^_~)

oh, happy anniversary to MyOtaku!
