   Watch Out..Wandering Thoughts
Ah, a day off again. But plenty of chores to do-- Spring cleaning-- just gotto roll up the sleeves cuz it won't do itself. My husband has been away for business, and when he comes home, Mamma will be running out the door for work. Sometimes, life seems like tag team wrestling!. Inertia! I can't get my bod in gear this morning-- may be out for coffee-- or chai! ( O wolfy, I do think you started something here). We have a mourning dove nest on our front porch, so I leave in and out through the garage, so not to disturb the birds. They rise up and flap about squawking, posturing in mock battles. They are characters. It's cooled off a little-- maybe if I work fast enough, I might finish the big red ponch and be able to wear it before the winter. The canyon seems to have 2 seasons:summer and not summer. We are quickly going into summer== do not pass Spring. Well, maybe I'll start the day with writing another poem. (OK, like I here the shuffling, and snickers in the backgroun in the Peanut Gallery, but I'll try gain to write a poem):

Smiling, I watch the duck ponds,
Mallards and mergansers stretch their wings.
Up the hill, flappin and quacking--
Feathers and fuss, noise and such.
Heads bobbing, beaks clattering,
Electric expectations fill the day--
One by one, they strut like
Royalty holding court.
While I stand enchanted--
by the great Duck Parade by Mamma Vash

There's something so cute about ducks. So noisy and awkward on land, so graceful in the water.

Have a sparkling DAY !
Love and peace to all, with biscotti and donuts!
Stretch their wings

The Gifts we Sometimes Forget.
Cool sweet kisses from Night
To beloved Gaia
O silver drops of dew
Aurora shrugs off evenings gifts
Let fly the mantle of fog
Rising clouds swiftly
Smile, and break forth Day

-- by Mamma Vash

This morning was up and at 'em early--- weekend duty. We all have to take turns, and go in to keep the machine (paperwork that is) sated and running. Normally, Mamma sleeps late on weekends-- today on rising, I felt the cool misting fog drift in the canyon, from the ocean about 60 miles away. It swirls, and feels so light and cool.. the marine layer is so thick, the early rising sun looks like a silver disc floating on a shimering curtain. I have to drive over 50 miles, but I look at the mountains, beginning to peak out, with much seemingly hidden from view. Each day, I look so hard at the mountains as I pass, I seem to memorize each bush, twig and leaf. And each time,it subtley seems to change in a way I can't describe. Though I have lived in the little canyon for 8 yrs, I greedily soak in the sights so as to never lose it. We have moved many times in the past, so I have learned not to take much for granted.
And the poppies have exploded into carpets of gold and yellow, with hawthorne bushes blushing pink . When everyone has yet to rise, there's a quiet riot of colours. While driving, I played some cool jazz. Once at work, the mist was fading, the sun just a little warm. Mamma thought that though weekend duty was not a favorite, this morning seemed to be glorious despite it all. And when the work was done, a cup of spiced chai(Thank you Wolfy for your wonderful suggestion !), and maybe even---- a donut (sugar attack !) could be mighty tasty indeed.
A canyon salute for Ozy J and Yami... if you could see the sunrises, and sweet pink hawthornes with breakfast on the veranda .

Sharing thoughts of nature with hopes for a sparkling week for Ozy J,Wolfy, Yami,KamiyaUsagi, Thrush Battersea, Zen Origatou, Silver Falcon, and friends I am yet to meet.
Milkycat, I hail you, wherever you are.

It's been a bit of a strange day. The canyon warmed up in the 90's, and the heat always makes me feel a bit lightheaded. While motoring around, I felt like just sitting down on the grass, and throwing all the tasks I had to do in the air. I guess, if a were a little kid, I'd be planning to just run away. Eyes felt misted, and I was just so tired, and nothing in particular was amiss. It just felt as if the whole world was a large burden, and all the colours dissappeared. In the evening , things felt a little bit, and at least I could do some writing. That made me mad, because I felt the day had been frittered away, I did not accomplish what I wanted. But , if there wasn't a blue day, I would not recognize the good ones. These feelings are short lived, and are bound to come with a very busy life. But that does not mean I have to like them. Tonite, I will look out at the stars-- they shine so bright in the canyon, and try to regain my poise by living in the moment.

May tomorrow be a very mellow day! Desiderata has a lot of good points, the one for today" In the noisy confusion of life, keep peace in your soul.

For Ozy J-- Ducks are loved a lot in our house. I always put out cracked corn for the duck when we lived near a pond in Michigan, and have 10 duck knick knacks friends gave me (including a duck call). My mom used to sing a song ( I only learned part)-- here it is for you:
Be kind to your webfooted friends, for a duck may be somebody's mother". And you got it, ,like Mamma, she would sing this song in a delightfully tone deaf manner!

   Monday, monday...
Hello there, friends! Milkycat--glad your comment box is back! And the new art is superb. hat's new? Ozy J--where is life and adventures taking you? Some good things coming up I'm hoping. Wolfy--travelling faster than the speed of light--what's up, doc? Yami, here's to a good week, your thoughts are deep. Phat kat Huggles says MEOW for all Phat Katz. Keep in touch, cuz friends keep the world turning.!

I survived! Mondays and me are not friends in any way! NYA! rushing to get ready for work, dashing out the gun, on the ramp to the freeway when YAAAAAA I FORGOT THE OFFICCE KEYS! (and of course, 5 miles before the next turnoff). I live in a canyon in California-- beautiful birds, flowers, something green all year round. The mountains are rugged, and sometimes have snow on the tops, while palm trees can be seen in the foreground. I am not the most organized person in the world, and if don't pack what I need in the car and on my kitchen table, ooooo, ooooh. I commute about 1 1/2 h because of the traffic. Am I glad that CD's can be played in the car. I turned around, fetched the keys, and roared off again, gritting my teeth because now I was late. In my head , I can hear vague lectures from my Dad, and Mom about getting organized. My husband sits and shrugs his shoulders, his eyes crinkle with a smile. He's away on business, so Mamma watches the parrots, and "the fort" . Thank God for cell phones, and the internet, so when he's away, he's actually as close as the nearest computer. I always have my knitting--socks, sweater--recently a big red poncho. I just keep knitting--- at work, rather than grind teeth, out come the knitting needles. One of my co-workers swears the knitting needles will graft to my hands. I silentlly laughed to myself-- thinking what if Vash had knitting needles in addition to the gun in his arm during times of boredom and frustration? I love knitting because of all the colours and textures of fibers. It's a treat to go to the needlework store. My poncho began after I started a red and black hunting plaid blanket, and there was a lot of red leftover. We'll see where it goes!
When I arrived finally at work, I sprung from the car, jugglling everything when I came upon a STAMPEDE! No, not Vash-- but ducks! The moral is-- never stand between a duck and his corn! Have a fruitful day, and I hope that amidst all the angst there is, may there be a smile !
Love and peace ( no biscotti or donuts, because Mamma forgot then on the kichen table)

   It's alive
Nya!. It's morning, and did I need the sleep-- I'm glad there are VCR because I fall asleep on all movies. My husband often laughs in the morning watching me get up-- he springs awake and rushes about like his tail was on fire. I hide under the covers, and groan, and make several tries at sticking my foot out (I guess to see if the floor is still there). One of our favorite movies is Young Frankenstein, and we both howl during the scenes where the monster is being built, and Gene Wilder cries "It's Alive !" My husband said that reminds him of me in the morning. NYA NYA !
Top of the Morning, Milkycat! I would love to see your Naruto jacket! When I see a copy of ShonenJump, I think about your getting published. That is so FINE!
Have a cup of tea Wolfy-- you have been so busy, I hope you can catch your breath. Ozy J--Huggles says NYA! (what else does a Phat Kat say upon rising, when they could still be sleeping)! When is graduation!
Greetings, Yami-- ?further thoughts on your project? I really enjoy hearing from everyone, and talking to you all. Right now, I face a day of the dreaded and deadly SPRING CLEANING ! ARGGH! Well, at least I have the riot of wildflowers.. We have been having a heat wave -- suddenly its been 90 degrees! I could fry an egg on my office floor (oh what would the insurance girls say about that one). Traffic is eating more time and money-- it used to take 50 min to get to work, now it can be 1 1/2 h. My butt gets sore, I begin to foam at the mouth and bang the steering wheel-- then sing loudly to get rid of the energy (and yes-- I AM TONE DEAF !) My Dad has been known to put his fingers in his ears when I sing, saying something about a lovesick foghorn. It makes me giggle though. I thought I saw my neighbors dog late last night on arriving home-- but it was a coyote! Well, step by step , here I come --
Everyone have a fruitful day, and gather ye dounuts while ye may (before they get stolen !)
Love and Peace (donuts and biscotti)

   Spring has Sprung
(borrowed poam):
Spring has sprung, the grass has riz,
I wonder where the flowers iz !
I got in the car and drove for a few hours. I began to spot an occassional wildflower here and there --then BAM ! there are wonderful carpets of yellow and orange, as if an artist crept out painting everything in sight. I pulled off the road, and grabbed my camera. I have that with me most of the time to capture something beautiful. I stare at the landscape hard, as if to memorize every detail, so that I wont miss anything. The mountains, and canyons, they are enough to bring a tear to the eye! Got home a lot later than I anticipated. I feel almost drunk on nature today-- ah, but its just delicious! I'll retire early tonite, dreaming of colours! A very fruitful day to everyont!
Love and peace

   Huhhh ?
Somehow, we made it to the weekend! Cheers for everyone. I guess I'm finding some of the Universe's nasty pranks-- like giving feet to house and car keys when I'm not looking. There must fun for the Universe when I realize at the last minute that ARRGGH!!! I CANT FIND NOTHING! The Old Heap (the 'puter) is patched up... but stay tuned because over the past week, this computer has had more encores than 5 Broadway plays! The great state of Vexation is my new home (it borders on the states of Confusion and Panic !!) If it were not for friends, things would be pretty yucky! My own system, and the one at work-- what else? Well, when there are no donuts, the biscotti dissapeared, and there are not even some pretzels, there are Fruitcakes, a funny song by Jimmy Buffett, celebrating the individual. Sometimes it helps to laugh loudly! So loudly , the tears also run down.
G'Day to Afu Mush-- enjoy the manga-- hoping art is to follow
Good Afternoon Milkycat-- your art is astonishing! How do you do the Itachi with MS Paint/ (clapping hands excitedly)
Long distance hello for Wolfy-- I don't know how you motor so fast, so long. Please take care! Sparkles are rare in the Universe!
Meowwww! to Ozy J-- if demons could live in machines, I think my Old Heap would probable be possessed! Your good humour has helped me during a most frustrating week.
For Zen--continue in courage, for the key is also seeking YOU !
Happy Tea Time Vashluver.

I still can't believe the computer did not crash! I'll try to load a picture tonite.

And then motor to Border's to hear a friend sing-- music , cheesecake to the soul.

Peoples can be the nicest of animals!
Love and peace (biscottti with donuts)

And now to meet the great computer...
The weekend brought surprises. I began to recover the computer, and like a drowning man it suddenly went down for the third time. Need to find a new engineer (ours moved! ARG!!) I guess its probably time to go back and take more classes in computing, which I really do like. At work we use the computer, and sometimes its nice todo something quiet. Computers don't shout or make demands--- Won't be able to upload as much as I would like, but that may be a good thing-- I'll have time to step back and look, rather than run quickly with impulse. Ah, art does stir the pot, and either soothes the soul, or challenges us. The sun is out, and near where I work we have several ponds, with mallards, egrets, and migrating waterfowl. It's amazing how the mallards vary in their markings-- I spotted 3 that are black and white only-- one is almost all white, with a little black on the crest of his head-- looks like a punk rocker!

Just want to say today:
Milkycat-- hope your hand is OK, pamper yourself, I'll be looking for your art, hope you don't mind my comments in Otaku life.

Wolfy--good morning! Your enthusiasm and encouragement are wonderful! You must be busier than a whole hive of bees!. Pace yourself! (don't forget to have fun)

Ozy J-- Love all your creativeness ! Savor the beauty where you live. Lancaster is beautiful-- I recall visits there, the landscapes are inspiring!

Zen--haven't heard from you-- how do things go:?

And a good day to Vashluver!

Love and peace (no donuts or biscotti today-- got to pay the engineer!)

   Hmmm
A brief note now, more later. I appreciate the comments on my art, and thank everyone who has made them. Good, bad, or indifferent, they are helpful. I was thinking about 2 of my pictures, and when someone had left a comment, I realized the pictures may have had a disquieting quality I did not intend. Most times, my art is meant to have some humour. Other times, it is heavy handed statements. I guess I'm thinking about taking those down until I can revise them-- Trigun in the Desert (part of the picture was lost - the campfire-- so it has a strange quality). I'm also wondering about the playmates--- I guess I'll take them down until revised. I guess sometimes, I do the art too fast, and don't think about it. Well, I'll drop back and slow down. This might be a good time for a cup of joe (if I say java, I know that's a pun), so toodles for now. All input is welcome!
Love and Peace (with donuts and biscotti for all !)

Good morning to Wolfy, Ozy J, and Milkycat.
Sending hopes for good vibes to Zen
