Who Ordered the Heat
GAAAK! It is starting to heat up again-- even the parrots don.t stir much. When the heat comes up, its really hard to do the simplest chores. Each weekend I find myself saying "Well, maybe next weekend". Somehow I will find a way to wake up when it gets warm. This weekend I was able to complete one of my blankets for the homeless program (I hope to finish at least 10 by December) Has anyone seen Rave Master? This is looking like an interesting anime. (The peanut gallery is laughing-- saying I still have my old favorities, won't deny that). Somehow, it feels like there are cobwebs in my brain, and creative thoughts are difficult to come by. Maybe because energy is hard to come by-- been tired, but the pace at work is fast, and my wrist seems to be giving it to me a little more. One reason I haven't drawn much--- What new things has everyone been up to? Myself, I'm just idling till my wrist and thumb cools off. Wishing love, peace, and fufillment for all my friends. Huggles to you all !

Somehow, I think Father Time likes to play tricks! He puts on running shoes for holidays and weekends (and uses rocket powered afterburners for vacations!) Well its BTR (Back to Reality!) which includes traffic and errands. How did everyone's holiday turn out? I have to get my oven repaired-- when I have made biscotti, it's been in the toaster oven ( or what I call the easy bake oven). Although the Expo is over, I'm still going through the manga sneak peeks, and playing the new Wolf's Rain soundtrack, and my plushie Ein is sitting on the bedstand. I wonder what he would be thinking? One think that made me laugh where some comments, and what people did in long lines. And the lines were LONG to get in-- although I had registered ahead of time, ,it took 2 1/2 hr to get in. Some people sat down with CD players, bopping with their music, cosplayers started acting out little dramas, or posing for photg wanna bes (like me), and others were playing cards. Out of force of habit, I have stuck little knitting projects everywhere. I had started a blanket (only the first row) but eventually got a bit finished (usually I have something small in my purse, like socks, but I brought my backpack oon wheels). I hope my hand will be able to manage the larger camera, I am so usedd to it and it has more settings. The glow of the fun is still present, even as I gird myself with my toolbelt to fix a few things around the house. Husband is away on business-- he is amused when I get excited about anime. Both of us love classic films-- Humphrey Bogart! Well, learning to use some tools right handed is gonna be a trip-- I use some right handed already. The Peanut Gallery is snickering already! The parrots are hiding in the back of their cages!

Laughter and happiness, love and peace to friends, because they are really special!

   LIGHTS! CAMERA ! COSPLAY!!!

Swirls of colour, sounds, feeling like your are riding through a kaleidoscope... Anime Expo was certaintly a unique experience! I had the honour and pleasure of meeting Panda and Novapup... and that made a good thing terrific ! Wonderful people!
The costumes caught my eye... the robot and another character whose name I don't know. Some of the Gungrave outfits were great. I was happy to get the 2 missing Cowboy Bebop DVD and a new Yoko Kanno sound track from Wolf's Rain. I felt like a little kid in a candy store who's eyes are like saucers ! And lots of new manga (they give out sneak peaks, a lot of manga I have not seen) I have to apologise for my photos, I got so excited, I forgot to check my settings so some are blurred, and others needed fill in flash. Large bags were handed out to hold the "goodies". I got some new liners (they are like the drafting pens I use, but there are more widths, and a brush included)... there were workshops on drawing manga, and so many screenings of movies and many anime! I an quite tired tonite, but it is a satisfied kind of tired. With my new Ein plushies sitting on the bedstand, I'll dream of colours and characters a plenty. Who knows// maybe the Bebop will make an unscheduled stop !

Milkycat, I hope you are feeling great and wish pain would never visit your door, Ozy J , I hope you are having a friend and fun filled 4th... Silver Falcon, I hope you are getting a "bang" out of the 4th safely, Thrush Battersea, have not found a U yet, but have a great 4th with your favorite bishie!, VashsAngel, I hope you get some time to enjoy the woods in summer, Zen Origato-- I hope you are also having some fum, Wolfy I hope that you're having fun with art, and a great summer, Balinese I hope this is a summer of tranquility, Yami Loni I hope you get to have a great barbeque done for you, Total Anime Gurl, I thank you for the foxes on your site and hope youre smilling!

Hit the ground running
Sorry for not posting much-- this has been another week where I have to hit the ground running as soon as I rise from bed! So much to get done at work before the holiday. At least I will have a couple of days away from phones and paperwork!. The Anime Expo is coming-- I wish I could bring all my friends because that would be a lot of fun. I will take pictures and try to post them (the scanner is mad at me, or so it seems) Tonite, the moon is full, and when it is low on the horizon it is so large, it looks like the harvest moon. This will be a short note, its quite late (working to 8 pm is getting old!)

Happy July 4 th--- love and peace, and a safe and sane holiday!

Come Saturday Morning
That was the title of one of my favourite songs.. "come Saturday morning, ,I'm going away with my friends..." That's always been the special day of the week. What about other people, what's the special day in the week ? The morning overcast is burning off earlier-- I like to see the sun, but I'm getting prepared for the heat! (lots of root beer and Pepsi in my cool garage, along with mineral water). I aam sorry for such brief posts, we have been working non-stop and the pace is hard to keep abreast sometimes. I come home, crash, get up and work. I take the knitting where ever I go. My boss doesn't even blink when I come to the weekly meetings and knit socks while discussing the topic at hand. There just seems to be something about the regular motion and sound of the needles that helps to pace one's thoughts.

This quiz was kind of funny, so I'm going to post it here:

Did you ever notice the small ads by Google above our web sites.? What amazes me has been how appropriate the thing advertised, seems to fit whats been written. I have noted ads for Torani syrups (Italian sodas), parrots, and Trigun items on my site. I thought that was pretty clever- synchronizing sites and ads.
I feel like a hamster running in a wheel-- work pace is quick, but folks it is getting done! (still a small backlog) But I am really whipped at the end of the day-- falling asleep at 8 pm!

Has anyone seen Rave Master? Any opinions?

Well, back to the paper pile (rockpile). Love and peace to wonderful friends. I hope you all are having an MMMMM kind of day!

   QUACK !
The ducks that live where I work have had another bunch of ducklings. They are so used to us, the ducks parade down the sidewalks some times. I was trying to take a picture of one of the mallards, when another snuck up behind me.... a loud quack startled me, and I ended up on my butt. (I often squat low to take photos of critters and plants, so it was not far to go). That duck then walked around me and looked right into the camera. "I'm ready for my close up, Mr. DeMille" the duck seemed to say.
Today is another ongoing re=organization of the house. So much paperwork, correspondence, craft projects (blankets and 2 shirts) and my art stuff. I got a portable draftboard. We had a 2 man draftboard and drafting machine (I can't draw staight lines or right angles) with 10 little draws. I loved it-- Dad bought it from his workplace years ago. He's a retired engineer-- I am so proud of my Dad. He got his engineering degree going to school at night, working full time in the day, and supporting a family. He's given me an old book called "Through Engineering Eyes"-- essays on science from Julius Caesar, Chaucer, etc. I tresure this book, it is quite unique. Sharing books, poems , art and essays is special because it is so personal. I guess these are forms of expression where we share thoughts from deep inside that are parts of our true essence. Here on the the Otaku, people share their thoughts and art very openly--- I think its wonderful to be able to experience so many points of view. I am still trying to sort and upload photographs, but they are coming. I am going to try and get a small watercolor set. I would like to restart doing some pen and ink and watercolours. I am looking forward to another little trip in August when I go to Virgina.

I am eagerly looking forward to AX ! I have never gone to one, and I love to take pictures. Panda will be there-- is anyone else planning on going? I wish I could take all my friends there, I think it would be a real hoot! It could be fun trying to have an Otaku gathering. Any ideas ? I want to thank Kamiya Usagi for the name Chester for my comppputer-- it seems to really fit. (as Tomato does for my car thanks to Ozy J). Today has been a day off , ,but I had to make computer disks for a co-worker. That was easy but driving in and home was 100 miles, and its starting to get warm!

I send the little park on Dream St. to my friends, a little out of the way place, with a gazebo and little hill to walk, and a ball field. I will stretch out read, and people watch. I hope everyone finds their little piece of Paradise, somewhere on Dream St.

The Otaku Trail
I'm pretty excited tonite. I will get getting some days off, and I will try to venture to the Anime Expo-- it will be the first time I have ever gone. Are any other folks going to be at the Anaheim Convention Center during July1-4 ? It would be interesting so see how many people from the Otaku might be there. I look forward to having coffee with Panda and hope we link up for that. All I figure is that I should prepare for sensory overload ! I think its going to be fun. Well, not much more news-- again Night Patrol.!

Chester is a name that seems to fit my computer-- so Chester it is. Thanks so much for the suggestion, When you yell at the machine, its only fair it have a name!

I wish happy surprises to all my friends--- new trails to pursue, and delights that suddenly appear to make a routine chore something exciting and novel! Love and peace to all.

Cyberspace
Where am I? My computer has been acting as if has evolved into HAL-- when I want to go somewhere on the WEb, flicker--ZAP... and I'm at some of the strangest sites! Even when trying to get around the Otaku today, I'm getting alphabet soup messages about SQL ! I wonder if there are aliens living in Cyberspace, ,waiting for a dumb human to try and look something up on the web--- hmmm, Did I just see something flicker behind the glass of the monitor? Was that a giggle, while talking with the other aliens in there "Just wait til she hits the return key..." I used to have a sign years ago at work, when we all first began to make the switch from paper. I would get such cramps in my hand from writing in triplicate. It was a hard wired system-- badly hooked up. We got no training-- and if someone screwed up ( which is synonymous with touching anything on the keyboard), then everyones machine locked up. Anyway, I had a large sign on the side of my desk with a person holding a large hammer over a computer and the caption reaads "Strike any key when ready !" Ah, but there must be gremlins in the machine! I guess that I'll have to wait until the machine decides to settle down a bit.

A question: What should I name a capricious computer that is a bit old? If anyone has an inkling, just leave a comment. Excuse me while I go fight with the laundry!

I wish love and peace in the world, and pray that every morning we get a little closer to being able to talk to each other without fighting.

I am ever thankful for friends, because you are all precious, and give something positive everyday to many. Catch you all on the other side of starshine!

Of All the things I've lost.....
Of all the things that I have lost, I miss my mind the most! (LOL) Another day where random thoughts are just zooming in and out of my head. I feel like my feet walk in one direction, and my head in the other! Yesterday I missed the entire day! it was overcast all day. Usually , in June the early morning is cloudy and foggy in Southern Cal ("June Gloom" or the marine layer-- keeps the canyon from frying) and it breaks up late the in AM. Well, it stayed cloudy, and I stayed sleepy. I have lots of pillows and a fluffy comforter, so unfortunately the bed is comfy. I did a little knitting. Knitting helps me to solve problems, and sometimes get some original thoughts. The regular rhythm of my hands and soft clicking noises are hypnotic, but allow me to focus. If I don't make some notes however, it seems to flow out of my head quickly! This has been another paperwork monster day, so I will turn in early.
I'm enjoying reading everyones posts and adventures. Each person is like the facet of a diamond-- unique and brilliant, but when all facets are added, a beautiful jewel forms with lights radiating throughout!
Panda, I send you a circus for fun and smiles, Milkycat--I send you a lace shawl to wrap smiles and love around you, Ozy J, I send you a world of books to excite your mind, Yami Loni, I send you the California surf and its energy for your degree, Kamiya Usagi, I send you honey for sweeter days ahead, TAG, I send you confetti so that tomorrow can be as happy as a party, Cutieanuki, I send you a field of wild flowers and friends, Balinese, I send you a sunrise and new tomorrow.

I send love, peace, and biscotti and donuts to all my friends, no matter where they roam. Catch you all on the other side of starshine.

Mamma says goodnight for now.
