Rock and Roll
Sometimes I just feel like a little scairdy cat inside--- all jitters and shakes for no reason at all. Strange thing is when something big goes down, I get calm and go into action. When the dust settles, then its anxiety time again! Knitting for me is really great because its rhythmic and you can almost suspend all thoughts and go on auto pilot. The Peanut Gallery again getting restless, shifting in their seats.
Vash: What are you worrying about now?
Mamma: Don't know--- vacation is coming up
Vash: Now you really have me confused
Mamma: That's not hard !
Vash: I WAS trying to be nice...(pout) for someone who whines about getting up , going to work, you get like a cat in a room of rocking chairs when vacations come around....
Mamma: How many vacations have gone as planned----
Vash:only the last one--- guess you have a point. Well, just bring extra donuts on the plane.

Almost every trip I have taken, something screwy goes on. One time, the airplane was scheduled to go to California from Detroit. We were told engine trouble, but as I watched, food and beverage ws loaded, and the overhead speaker announced the plane was heading to Miami! (guess not enough customers).

Well tomorrow at midnight I take the red eye to Virginia. My husband will meet me there-- he is in Chicago now. Got to run home, pack as fast as I can (usually undies, jeans,a book and credit card!), take the birdies to boarding. I'm starting to bite my nails-- guess I'll settle down once the traffic starts snarling. If I lived in a calm setting, I'd probably be a nervous wreck LOL.

I'll be visiting sites before I take off. Packing up the office for now. I posted Mamma and the Paperwork monster-- it's a bit odd, but I hope you enjoy it.

Be Informed....
Well, we are now in the political campaign season. I remmeber the counting of the votes for the last election-- I was visiting my sister in Florida, and they kept flashing to the West Palm Beach election officials throuhg the day. They started out in full suits, but each time they appeared on TV, a tie was gone, then the coat. It was as if the burden of the entired national election had been put on their shoulders. It later struck me they should have been dressed as knights, or Centurion Romans. The elections are approaching--- please be informed-- get information from good sources (public broadcasting, reputable internet sites),read, register and vote. Even is someone is a bit too young to vote, no one is ever too young to be aware of what's going on in the world. Fancy slogans, cute songs, etc don't fool me, an old East Coaster, when it comes to news, I am a cynic, and suspicious! A friend sets up a card table at the canyon shopping plaza with petitions regarding local issues (schools, utilities etc) Most people think that's not very exciting stuff, but you'll probably never forget how a referendum on garbage pick up effects you! Well, the Peanut Gallery is restless-- and Vash whines again as it is about supper time
(Vash: Mamma, if you dont feel like cooking, aren't there any donuts? And where are those peaches?)
Mamma: The donuts are at the store, and the peaches are on the tree--- where you forgot to get either!)

Oh, well -- kind of a warm day, with a busy week. This is the kind of day for TV, and anime and manga. I found 2 new ones--Aria, about Mars as a water planet with pretty art, and Immortal Rain== both neat manga. Well, I had 2 hand treatments this week, so today I completed a second sketch started a while back== Mamma Vash battling the paperwork monster-- hopefully it will be up tomorrow. Well, dusk is coming. Maybe pizza would be good---o_O the Peanut Gallery has stampeded out the door with Vash in the lead! Seriously, pizza goes good with anime.!

Ozy J== wishing you beautiful blinking fireflies in the night, Panda, wishing you a fluffy cloud pillow for good dreams, Novapup== love the magazine cover fanart-- its super! Silver Falcon, wishing you the fastest car on the NASCR circuit (with you at the steering wheel in your dreams, taking the flag!), Thrush Battersea, wishing you a trip to a beuatiful and open beach for just you, Milkycat== wishing the music of the celestial spheres so you and your special one can dance on air, cutietanuki--wishing you a happy party of many friends to celebrate the day, TAG== hope there is laughter in your world, Wolfy== still thinking about your art, and colorful phrases, Zen== keep writing, because you have much good to share, Kamiya Usagi== hoping that good surprises come your way, and Yami Loni-- keep on laughing and sharing with us all.

I'll try and post photos of the blankets as I finish (they're for a homeless program_

Love and peace to all my myO friends... you all have so much to give to others. Thank you for what you do.

Always Running
I wonder if others feel like they have to jump up from sleep and hit the ground running. As I run down the stairs, and grab various items for the day, it seems when I'm on the freewqy, I then remember was got left on the kitchen table. That's were I try to lay out things I'll need the next day. The humidity has been a bit high, and the bugs have been nasty, so I've been inside a lot. One blanket completed, another is about 2/3 done. I'm hoping to complete 5 by December (I would love to make 10).
Well, already people are coming by the office, the day begins.

Love and peace to my wonderful MyO friends, you're the best!

   Tomato Rides Again
Well, again "POOF" I've been away. Getting to know my pillows well--I had intermittent back pain which often comes with change in barometric pressure, along with my hand acting up for a bit. Could not sit up some times, and typing hurt. Where would I be without DVD and VCR when I'm stuck in bed I don't want to think. Today was the first time I had time to post-- and then I got a call my father in law had fallen. Got in the car, and all the electrical system quit while I was driving to the hospital. Stuck on the road again! At least, my cell phone was charged so I could get a tow. Then I had to get a rental (they had large cars, I drive a small one)-- drove to the hospital, and my father in law had just been discharged! Then stuck in traffic for an hour again! While sitting on the freeway, at least I had my CD player (you got it, the batteries ran out). I guess if I were drawing a manga, I could create a character that just absorbed energy and stopped everything (I'm sure that 's been done). All I could think of was an old song-- I wonder if anyone knows all the words? Part of it goes"If it weren't for bad luck, I'd have no luck at all."

ARRRGGGHHH !!!!!!!! Ah, that felt better. Well, I finally completed a little sketch today that I started in February when this hand stuff started, so I'll try and post it (if I don't accidently crump something else!)

Love and peace, and hopes of good things to happen for my wonderful friends at MyO! You are truly great folks!

   The Heat's for the Birds!
Well, it doesn't seem that either the workload or the heat is slowing down. The canyon is about 10-15 degrees cooler than work, and we are starting to hit the 100's again. But its humid! When I try to watch the ducks the bugs are eating me alive! Yuck! Everything I do is in slow motion-- I have to do everything in very small parts, take naps. The pace has been fast, and there is lots to do-- work and home. The parrots are annoyed I'm not home more with them. Once the weather is a little less humid, maybe some energy will return. In the meantime, I think siestas should be instituted here! I think about you all a lot-- and fondly. I'll be getting around to visits (after another naps-- still hot and humid at 9PM-- Stinko! And Hand Clinic very early tomorrow. The humidity does not help my hand at all-- well I'll find a way (at least I knit with my right hand or I'd go nuts! I do everything else with my left hand. Well, like our Governator says:"I'll be back!"

love you all-- wishing you love and peace, and enough Round Tuits to take the stress out of a day!

Roundtuit
My posts and visits to friends sites have been irregular and I want to apologize. I love to read everyones posts and look at art-- but I've just been tired a lot. Work loads have really zoomed, and the hours are a lot longer.I know this has happened to almost everyone-- I have to get more efficient and also get a little more energy. And I am not the most organized person-- I wish I were. Seems I either have a hundred things I want to do NOW and can't decide where to start, or just want to sleep. Spurts and starts. I have too much clutter, and the first thing that needs to be de-cluttered is my brain, so I can set a goal and just do it!
I keep saying to my husband to just put what needs doing in the basket, and I'll get around to it. After many years, one day he gave me a circular rubber jar openner. It had some printing on it---he said "Now you can't procrastinate anymore because I just gave you a Round Tuit!" When I try to organize, I get distracted and wander, and I need a lot of time to quietly and slowly try to simplify things. Simplicity --- that's what the "Good Old Days" really were about. No one had heard or considered "multitasking". I savor fondly moments like sitting on the front porch with my roommate enjoying an ice cream cone-- or lemonade late in the evening. Of course the not fun part was sitting out there because there was no air conditioning as the wiring wouldn't support it. I am lucky to meet so many friends here on myO. Just want to say, thank you all for adding good things in my days. You all are great, and a goal I set is to visit more regularly and often After all, now I do have a Round Tuit!

Love and peace, and moments of pleasant simplicity to have some "good Old Days" in the here and Now.

Sunday Morning Coffee

Did you ever wake up early on a Sunday, to watch the sunrise like a curtain lifting to herald the beginning of the day? This is the picture of the wildflowers in the canyon, where I could watch the blooms open right in front of mny eyes on Easter morning. I hope you enjoy this. An unexpected surprise, someone had stopped by , an given me 2 bird kites, one is a seagull, and the other is a parrot. If the winds are right, I would like to try and fly one.
Fo panda, when I went to the knitting store, they had received some panda faces buttons for sweaters!

Love and peace to all my friends. Enjoy the day, ,sip your chai/coffee/ or whatever relaxes and tastes good. Have a wonderful day ! I'll be dropping around peoples sites later-- some more errands before playtime.

Where to go....
Where do I go to find my place in space and time? Feeling neither up nor down, but as if things are a bit stalled. Maybe its the heat.. We did have a few drops of rain which was good. This is a brief post, guess you could say game called due to "brain freeze". If something pops up, I shall return, if not, I'll try again tomorrow. **blush** sorry..

Love and peace to all my friends.

Thanks Silver Falcon for a reminder to keep cool-- I think that perhaps this is just a little tiredness. I will leave a little poem I wrote:

Indigo sparks, cascading flashes
Electrons swarm, and leap
Bursting past a million suns
Carrying a million voices,
Cradling a billion thoughts,
Through curve of time and space
To form a most curious Web
That can touch a distant heart.
...Mamma Vash

Art as Life
There's a real unique exhibit here in the summer, in Laguna Niguel. They call it the Pageant of the Masters. Using elaborate costumes, make up and stage settings, they re-create famous paintings with actors. They really do look like the paintings have grown large and come to life! If I can find an image, I'll try to post it (no photography is allowed). I always hear life imitates art, well this is a case of the reverse.

We are having brush fires-- none near the house. There was a small brush fire on the walking trail but it was contained fast. Palm Springs is where one is occurring now. The brush fires are scarier to me than earthquakes. I have been living here for about 14 years in So. Cal. The building I work in is on some energy absorbing system, and during a quake almost nothing happened (and it was a pretty big one in the desert). One happened when I was home where stuff flew out of the cabinets-- my sensible husband was in a safe place, and brought me down just as large cans came out of the cabinets.
Last year during the summer night, we smelled smoke, and it was real scary-- during the very bad fires of October, I was on Night Patrol, and ended driving by one fire, and driving through smoke from a second. Both were about a mile from work. I never want to be any closer to a brush fire.
Well, out into the summer heat.
Panda, I hope that you're feeling better-- a gentle night of silver stars for you with warm fuzzies.
Yami Loni, I wish you a tall cool beverage, and cool lakeside spot to enjoy it, Ozy J, I wish you cool breezes and hot jazz! (Spirogyra is pretty sizzling), Milkycat-- sending you wishes for hapiness and harmony, hoping your trip returns good memories to you, Wolfy-- hoping there are enough colours for your art, Cutetanuki-- wishing you a party to have fun and celebrate,Silver Falcon--- wish I could send you some of the race cars from around here, Thrush Battersea hoping Outer Banks is just grand, Zen, I will definitely check out the art and story-- keep writing!, and I send you warm smiles. Balinese, I hope the journey brings good things. And Kamiya Usagi-- I wish you joy and many friends, hoping this is a good summer for you.

For all my friends, I send love and peace, and biscotti. If you all ever see a roadrunner (yes, they do exist) may you also have a surprise and laugh as well (they are a hoot) I'll be getting to visit sites this evening.
