And the picture was....
My wassiz picture was indeed an artichoke! Who ever knew they had beautiful purple flowers. I saw a whole bunch , and they mature in the the familiar veggie we know. I'm finding the World's a little hard to navigate, so I guess I'll be posting here. I have to get motivated to re-organise my back room to be more functional and simple. As soon as I put something in there, it's the grand search -- call out the hounds!-- to find things. I still am edgy after that tire hit the car, even thought the car is repaired. The highways are crowded, and gas is #$%^ expensive, so I stay home. I'm knitting the last square for an afghan I will send away to nursing home/hospice. I used to give them to a homeless program, but they don't need them, but I know this other program could use them .

Starting to watch Death Note-- its a good story and mystery. I like to watch the anime several times, I always get something more each time I watch. But it just puts me in a different frame of mind, and frankly I love all the beautiful art. Haven't sketched in a while, maybe I'll get tea at Border's and do a sketch. Right now-- its Parrot time. The big bird has learned to tick like a clock (pretty funny) but I have to keep her away from my mantel.

well, evening draws nigh. Good weekend my frinds!

Phoenix is pretty warm
Just got back from Phoenix, to attend lectures. It was cool and pleasant when I first arrived (did that last weekend-- usually I have to cross 3 time zones, so I always take extra time so I will be "adjusted" and not miss stuff). I looked around for close things to do-- well, everything was a couple of hours drive- I went to the botanical gardens. I found what I left home, -- the good camera, iPod (I like music when I shoot), and when I came home I tore apart my luggage for items I left behind. Then I got a call from the hotel-- they found those things left behind in my room and will mail them. Guess I am always feeling on edge there.

Do you all ever feel like you are running around in circles, your mind dancing and running in circles? I have found anime to be one thing that will absorb me, and slow me down, and keep me focused. I brought the drawing pencils (and left the good paper behind!) I think I just need to take some short vacations home, get organized, and just relax and let the creative part out.

What anime and manga are you reading? How are you spending the summer?

I hope I can post my whaziz picture.... take a guess at if (if it appears!)

Love and peace and biscotti!

Do you hear the echoes
Do you hear the echoes
Of the winds of time
Of events creeping slowly
And suddenly, life is changed ?

Is there a certain silence
An Absence of what was
And does there seem to be a gap
With direction now unsure.

I write this because this month unfortunately as some major negative memories for me, that have not quite healed, and I just think I need to get that feeling out. I will not dwell, but moving on has been one major nasty difficult process.

I am glad for friends here-- because you helped to keep me on the ground and push forward.

Art does heal and communicate-- I truly believe that. I am going to try and set up a world, and put most of my photos in dA as well as photobucket-- how can I find other peoples worlds? Asking in advance of my trying because (groan) I know what the computer can do with my attempts! LOL

Have a great weekend! Will try to put some photos here too-- but will spread them about.

Funky framing!
Well, last post got framed pretty funky- and
the words at the right edge got cut off. How many people are using the Worlds? Are they like the sites on MyO. I like the idea of being able to share pictures, like little pieces of my world here with friends. Well, never being one who loves change, when I get some time , I will have to explore. We have had some unexpected beautiful warm weather (dry) this weekend, and Big M is home for a whole weekend (in the middle of 7 trips-- he almost got sent back to Europe again! But he was already in San Diego. He brought me a beutiful little charm from Japan that has 2 little turtles. Do you guys collect things? I collect little turtle figurines (only have 5-- I'm selective), some anime little toys-- the smaller ones. I am happy I got the smaller Bebop toys, and a little Inuyasha about 3/4" tall-- he sat on the desk at the big office to :ward off evil spirits of crashes"-- however, Inyasha fell down on the job- killed 1 hard drive, going on the second.! LOL We have been told all the equipment will be replaced. OMG! I only hope we don't switch to Vista! Anyone using that.? I heard it has some wacky problems.\\

Well, I will try another photo from the Arboretum, a favorite place. We hiked the walking trail yesterday-- it was gorgeous, covered with yellow flowers, daisied, some thistles, and there are apparently several trails. I have lived here a while, but never had the time. One trail (the one we climbed) had at the steepest point a 49 degree incline. It isn't long, but the view at the top is beautiful! I will post pictures.

Hope this one does not get cut off.

Are folks posting on MyO, the Worlds at The O, or dA or other sites? Just wondering. As for me, haven't used my dA site in a long while (time factors). I should add a link--- I've been using that site for my photography, again mostly nature-- I think many of those pictures I have included in posts here, but in future, looks like I will be putting photgraphs there due to funky framing.

Have a great weekend! Hugs to many good friends!

Spring has Sprang!
Well, with all the rains, the canyons are covered with yellow flowers- everyday a new streak runs across another canyon, and it is glorious! But when the little yellow flowrs are gone- poof- the greenery and everything goes back to mud brown. But these little flowers haven't been around in 2 years, so I'm loving it while its here. I got a compact digital camera that I can throw in my purse. I am again seeing many things that I wish I had the Nikon for- the cell phone camera is terrible. This little camera isn't bad.-- things that just struck me were the think fogs we had, the canyons filled with the yellow flowers, and now its time to chase the California poppies- beautiful orange coloured little dudes. Slowly making some time for photography. I will load up the pictures a little later.

Does anyone like Satoshi Kon (paranoia agent) ? He has a new movie out called Paprika- Ijust got it, and I guess will watch (groan -during house cleaning). Will need some construction in the kitchen-- I'm gonna dely that till fall-- too much else to be done!

What is everyone up to? Any new adventures, or new art? I am going to try and continue to take breaks and be here more often--- (the alternative is to turn into a robot like state) Hail art!

Been A While
Things have just been crazy-- stuff breaking down , work pace accelerating, so that I kind of feel like a robot- get up- go to work- go to sleep. Not a quality way to spend time--- I need to put the brakes on, and try to do different things on the weekend. Haven't sketched in a while, and its been about 3 wks since I used a camera. I actually have a little backup digital I keep in my briefcase in case I see something unusual or pretty. I just have this strong urge to capture the image to hold it, and be able to go back to it.

Though I haven't posted in a while, I often wonder what my friends have been up to.... sometimes telepathy could be good. But then again, like life with cell phones, and a lot of other things, information overload could be a risk. I was surprised when a young actress commented that she threw her Blackberry in the ocean, because she couldn't stand being contacted constantly-- she just wanted to grab a book , and be alone for a bit. I found that very interesting for someone born in the PC Age.

I hope that spring is being king to you, friends. I am going to try to keep in touch a little more---

Here is an older picture from La Jolla I have been saving.. hope I have not already posted this one..

Enjoy!

End of Week...and I'm treading water fast as I can
Buckets of rain, and we need it. It's been raining 4 days -- and there's a hint of green in the hills. WoW! They have been brown for the past 2 years , and the fires, well they were a buster last year. We had 2 last year , very close to our canyon. I hope we can skip a year of that. The new cable is in, works much better, and I can record things and watch them later. Funny thing was the old land line phone connection came ondone, but its fixed now. I have gotten used to stuff breaking (my house is 20 years old, so of course stuff will go wrong.. but Murphy was right- it happens at the worst possible times.

I was getting ready for the ONE far business trip I get to take to Florida-- this year they moved it to Phoenix (in the summer!) I always like to go out and take photos ,so I will have to find something different from California to photograph. It won't happen until Memorial Day, when I have to fly-- I get restless on long flights, so the iPod has been really great. I wanted to do some photography in the rain, but it falls mostly at night.

I have the cd's of the music of Bebop-- takes 6 CD. Do you have an anime where you love the soundtrack?

Do you go to karaoke?

Well, I will be adding more La Jolla and Capistrano mission photos in another post. Hope you all are dry, warm and cozy!

   Wassup?
Well, seems like weekends speed away in a micro-second, while work days are just really long. Tomorrow I am off, but will have to be home as I will be getting a DVR and digital setup installed. What kind of setup do folks have for internet? I got DSL, but am a little leary of using wireless internet, especially to pay bills and stuff. Anyone using wireless? What to you think of it?

During the Christmas holidays, we took lots of day trips (always oriented around photography).. the best place I went to was La Jolla coast walk in So Cal. It's breathtaking-- cliffs, with the dark blue Pacific crashing on the rocks.. want to share a pic:

And there is plenty of wild life in the cliffs... it is wonderful! There are paths on top of the cliffs, and apparently in spring, there are beutiful wildflowers. One weekend, I'm going back there in the spring. Next winter, I think I would like to tour the desert-- actually thinking of going to Death Valley National Park... there really is a lot to see and do there in the fall/winter.

I will post another picture here... with Version Vibrant, I hope that we can put photos and sketches in posts. Anyone know about that? Groan, I am so computer illiterate regarding coding or anything to do with making original programs. Gasp! Well, hope you all like this little pic. (BTW- the picture of the parrot in my last post was a real bad job of trying to lighten shadows- and the focus was bad-- looked like a cut and paste, but wasn't. Good observation Visualkei!)

Another La Jolla moment:

Now, back to watching some anime-- Cowboy Bebop tonite! (Ah, love the music!) If you are a Bebop fan, what's your favorite piece from there? Waltz for ZiZi for me, somehow it seems especially poignant when things just go awry!)

?new year
well, stuff is still busting in the house, but at least it is more easily repaired than last year. DSL modem burned out, had problems with the iPod, and there's some leaks in the kitchen- not sure if its the solarium or gutter pipe. So I threw a big tarp on the solarium, we are expecting 3 days of big rain, and we need it.

The small dtuff I can deal with . Just turn up the music a little louder. I hope to sketch more this year. What are your new years plans, if you make them. I usually do not, I figure when I decide to change things, any day will do.

Just want to share my spoiled parrot with you. She likes cereal, but wants it brought to her on a spoon! So, without delay, Breakfast for Champoins!

Enjoy!

Merry Christmas
I hope that today , everyone is able to enjoy peace, love and happiness with those they hold most dear.

I tried to send out a little e card to some friends, not sure I got the URL quite right-- but anyway, for this little sketch, you could say Have yourself a Merry LITTLE Christmas....
