Ever wish you had a shell too?
With all the unexpected things happening, even small ones, I am vibrating hard with panic! Big M was taking a nap, and the anxiety just made me feel like I was going to explode! So I decided to fill up the tank of the car, and take a short drive. Shortly after filling the tank, I slipped, and bashed my knee. Other than a small scrape , I'm OK. Couldn't help but think about turtles, and that sometimes, a portable shell could be something handy.....and the simple fact is, right now, there is nothing new to get upset about... so I guess I'll look for a movie to watch. Thought this picture would be a good one:

Anyone else want to join the klutz club? LOL-- I'm figuring at my current rate, I could outdo Chevy Chase in pratfalls! Anyway, Big M brought more pictures home that he took in Japan, and made a CD, so I will be uploading these-- the beautiful temples, the cute deer in Nara--- you must be on your guard, apparently the deer will mug you for a cookie! He brought me a cute cell phone charm of a turtle with a bell inside.. I love it.

Well, hope everyone is dry and okay after all the nasty rains.. stay well and smile! Huggles to wonderful friends!

You know the drill-----
Since Halloween, we've been blitzing through all the special days. Are you ready for shopping? It's been amazing to live with Christmas and Halloween decorations side by side. (I can see where Tim Burton got some inspirations! LOL) But today is certainly a special day-- for anyone 18 or older, today's the day for your civic duty! Besides, if you don't like what local, state or Federal governments are up to-- this is your moment to do something about it...
VOTE ! When I drove to a Burger King this morning for soda (hey-- its a 40 mile drive at least!), I saw an add that made me laugh so hard, almost dropped the soda-- as you probably know, our governor is Arnold Schwarzenegger-- the add for the mega artery clogger said: so big and beefy, it could run for governor. Pretty funny.

Everyone have a great day.... a little sketch I will blow the dust off for today:

I'm Feeling Like Charlie Brown
GAAAAAAH! Like the Peanuts gang, I feel like crying "WAH! I missed Halloween"-- for paperwork! Got home so late then, no trick or treaters around, and the parrots were asleep! Growing up to be "responsible" sometimes takes the fun out of daily life... BAH! Glad that there is anime to watch. I have been watching my old DVD's-- I have been wanting to follow Bleach and Trinity Blood, but I keep falling asleep (and waking up later).. but that's a long time thing. When Trigun and Bebop were being shown for their premier runs, I would fall asleep during Bebop, wake up in the middle of Trigun-- somehow my brain made up its own story. So crossover anime almost seems a natural. Eventually I got to see both series as entire and different.

Still have the wet smell in the garage-- when we get started on the walls, that will be a disaster-- there's a lot of stuff that will have to be moved out of the garage. I guess this will mean the BIG clean. Oh , joy! I hear the "Happy happy, joy joy " song playing in my head now. Got to keep up some sense of humor about this.

Well, hoping you all have a great weekend.. maybe I'll get some time to make a sketch . Strange but I either have no time, or no inspiration!

You all are really cool!

BOOOOOOOOO !
There is now water in Mamma's house after 2 days! The water heater has been fixed, new piping put in... but I have some water damage-- yucky! I had to take pictures, Big M has not seen this yet, and I have yet to get someone to fix the damage, but it will not worsen at least. Won't post pictures because don't belong here (very EWWWWW!) One of these days, I will have to do an everyday anime sketch-- you know , take a favorite anime character, and sketch them doing everyday stuff. Sort of like the scenes in Cowboy Bebop where Jet was hanging out laundry telling a story about treasure to Ed, sitting in his laundry basket. I thought it was a sweet and funny section. Spent the day waiting for the plumber-- at least he showed me where the house water valve was-- he laughed that I was so determined to stop the water, I went to the valve from the street! I was wearing my FMA shirt which has the title in Japanese on it, he laughed and asked what it said, saying his Japanese was rusty. Turned out he kinda likes anime too. A new anime shop openned not far from the house, so I won't have to go far for the next Trigun max.

Tomorrow is Halloween-- the parrots, especially the big one, are restless. The little one is squeaking, the big one pacing around. I think they are getting ready to be their silliest. I will either wear my kimono, or a poster of a giant card (did not have time to even put a simple pirate headscarf together)

An appropriate picture for Halloween...

Well, time for laundry and other chores with the rest of my "day off".

   What else is new?
Well several strange things going on. I spent of lot of last week knitting rectangles for a community blanket. I got 7 colors (yes, the colors of the rainbow), and made 2 of each color. Dropped them off at Michaels-- tomorrow is when they are going to sew the blankets together, and I was hoping to have the house cleaned up so I could be part of the stitching gang. When I came home, and openned the garage door, as I pulled the car in---- there is water! The hot water heater BUSTED! And Big M is in Chicago. I had to turn off the gas (easy), drain the water heater to the street (found hoses) then shut off the water to the heater-- IT WOULD NOT STOP! I tried to turn the water off to the house---it would not stop!. I asked my neighbor for help-- a half hour later, he found the main water valve to the house near the street, and got the water turned off. So here I be, no water, and can;t get a replacement til Monday! So, looks like I will stay in a hotel.or something like that. Yes, and there may be some dry wall damage, And Big M had a fluid leak in his car. I had a friend who had a saying--- when several things went wrong, and then one more final thing happened, they would reply " So... what else is new?" LOL

So, I'll just think of this as being like National Lmapoon's Christmas Vacation--- I have seen that many times, but it still cracks me up. Guess this is an opportunity to find some anime online.. or take a long snooze. Have a good one, you"re are really good friends.

   I need a chicken!
I think I am starting to climb out of my little hole, and the "down" seems to be lightening. The hecticness didn't help, so yesterday I just decided to stay home, mostly in bed. This morning-- wa la! I woke up with a cold! I need a chicken-- my kingdom for chicken soup! (Yes, things must be better because I am focusing on the odder things in life, and my thoughts are off the lease-- wandering)

Spent the weekend watching movies and DVD's --- they have begun the Halloweenathon of movies, so I caught some I never saw before, including The Corpse Bride. I did not know it was stop motion animation-- they had a half hour showing how they filmed it-- that was pretty cool. Then I decided to watch some history, and that was very cool. I like PBS-- they have some really good arts and history stuff.

What anime do folks think is good to watch out for? I wonder what will be the next block buster anime to come along. I finally watched the FMA movie, and must admit, that was a really good series!

A little something to share with great friends:

Going to get some chicken soup and a big pillow and relax-- tomorrow will be busy... Just want to give a big thanks to Yensid, Cosmicsailor,Sikurai, Twilight Samurai, Dragonnova, Kitsune Tsuke, Jaguar, and Visualkei--- for coming around and being really cool folks! Thought you oughta know!

   And where to go---
This has been one of those particularly bleh days, where I feel like I have been running around furiously, and nothing has really been done-- and at my house, don't really have the energy to do much, or more likely, donwanna do much. The nice fall weather is about to yield to the devil winds, Santa Anas , they blow hot, and push the temperature up high! I feel kind of aimless tonite-- have to wait for my Muse to return....

And where do you go
When the winds throw their fury
And the moon shines darkly
On an emptly lonely night?
Please tell me if you know!

song lyrics///
Wow! Holiday weekend plus full moon equals no sleep! I feel like I'm sleepwalking! Oh, a good night's sleep is what I need, so tonite, I am disconnecting the phone, and letting the answering machine take the message. I'm sitting in my nightshirt (I love my nightshirt), and I have some popcorn, and lots of pillows. I look forward to some sweet anime (FMA tonite), and my plushies. Right now, even the parrots are sleepy.

Did you ever have trouble finding out the lyrics to a favorite song? Or wonder how the words of a certain song were ever permitted to be said in public? I like some Credence Clearwater Revival songs-- one of my faves is Bad Moon Rising... for years, I'd sing out loud the song, and wonder why anyone in earshot would stare at me... well, I thought the chorus words were :

There;s a bathroom on the right!

(ahem) years later, I discovered the words were:

There's a bad moon on the rise!
Now I know why my Dad laughs when I sing!

Well, hoping there are good dreams on the rise for good friends! Have a berry good day!

Got Da Duty!
A beautiful fall weekend, air is cool, and there are actually a few leaves turning color. It's a holiday weekend too! Should be out with the camera--- but as a friend says: "Got Da Duty"-- work the weekend. Sometimes I get lucky, but this time, looks like I'll be working all 3 days. Worked all day today, and already got calls to go in tomorrow. I so do not like to work holidays or weekends-- 12 days in a row, and I am tired. Yesterday I was doing the routine errands (chanting-- "No phone calls, no phone calls") and the last was to get gas. After I pumped the gas, the drivers side door would not open. Oh no! I climbed through the passengers side-- a real challenge since the seat is full of everything I need to bring to the second office! I had to take the car to the dealer-- the lock froze up-- it was lucky for me that they could fix it. GAAAAH! Cars drive me crazy!

I appreciate everyone's thoughts on vinyl records and stereos-- sometimes thing change so rapidly, we can easily forget just what life was like before new technology. Do you remember going to record stores to buy tapes/records/CDs? I do-- there was a huge store (and it was also a big chain) called Tower Records. They had a huge store on Sunset Blvd-- it had a brilliant huge sign that shown brightly, like a beacon. Well, it is going out of business. How about remembering where you used to hang out before Starbucks? Funny, coffeehouses were the place where the beatniks used to go. OK-- I do not remember the beatniks clearly. My mother used to think of them as the Wild People, yet that was a costume we would wear for Halloween-- tigh black pants, long colorful tunic, and a beret... talk about time coming round in circles!

But one thing that I am glad to experience is anime! The more I look at the art, the more I think that the simplicity of the style makes it quite beautiful.... and the stories can be so intricate ! I am watching Full Metal Alchemist episodes I missed first time around, and I am really loving this wonderful story! Do you watch your favorite anime over again. I still love listening to the music of Bebop, and yes I still get a laugh of the first disc of Trigun.

Well, the phone is ringing-- what will it be -- Telemarketer, or more work (please be a telemarketer!) An early fall picture for wonderful friends:

May the weekend be as crisp and sweet as an apple, just picked from the tree!

   Why do things break!
Well, I guess the boredom cycle is officially ending. Brought on later that night by freaky phones--- the land line would ring-- no one was there, then when I tried to call out-- busy singles, when I answered a call, sounded like the caller was speaking Martian. Just when enough steam came out the ears, I remembered that cordless phones have these sneaky little batteries that like to die dramatically (like an opera!), and that seems to be what happened. This morning the handset would not charge. It was hard to open the handset to get the battery, but I did without braking it. Today's little drama.

Heya, CosmicSailor! I always loved going to the cookware shop with a good friend, and we used to get these cool little gadgets that were so helpful. A ring for baking an egg into things! I had a friend who used to do that for a special Easter bread! That was so neat. Yeah-- in the store that I found the "lazy Susan" in , the label on the item called it a "turntable"--- years ago, that was what they called the thing that records were played on. It only takes a short bit of time to feel like an old fogey! Things change so much! How many people remember buying vinyl records (no cheating-- NOT for scratch DJ ing), and remember "component stereos" being the best in sound systems?--- Well, it wasn't THAT long ago! LOL

It you can recall using those item, here's one to jog your memory:

Actually, I found this at a farm in IL at Ryerson's Conservation area. They had some cows, chickens, and lovely nature trails. Are you putting out a Jack O Lantern or plain pumpkin around Halloween time? I haven't decided yet---

May your day be as fresh and crisp as an autumn morning...You are wonderful friends!
