It's a long story...

As some of you know, I have weekend classes for my masters degree. Now, in these classes, it is not unusual to have classmates that are older than you. I am not referring to around two or three years older - think next generation older. Some of my high school teachers are my classmates in research class. XD

Now, last Saturday, in our statistics class, one of my older classmate who sits behind me kept asking me about some stuff regarding the topic. It didn't bother me much. It's good to help others in need.

Then this much older man sat in front of me and later also started asking questions, though not as much. Do I look like I know all these stuff? I honestly don't. In fact, I was clueless and have to sometimes glance around to see how in the world a frequency distribution table is achieved. I guess I just have an easy way of grasping things, plus the fact that some of those stuff are still familiar back in my college days, and they seemed to have stopped school ages ago.

I somehow managed to survive the class. At the end of the subject, the older guy approached me asking about the assignment. It so happened that he was sleepy in the class and was not able to get the dictated assignment. That assignment was initially a seat work, but since we were not able to finish it, it was tasked as an assignment - with added stuff, of course.

When I said old, I mean "he can be my grandpa" old. If not that old, at least close to my dad's. I was a bit considerate and let him copy the given data. Every now and then he'll ask a question about where this number was from, this is a constant number because..., or how did you get this solution...; he even copied the seat work.He was being a bit pushy to the point of jotting down my phone number if he has any more questions.

Am I that kind? I guess this is a classic example of a guy taking advantage of another person.

Don't worry though... when it comes to the point that he pesters me, I'll cease to help him.

What a tiresome day...

Yesterday I had a very tiring day.

I felt so sleepy at work. Thankfully, I didn't doze off. In the afternoon we had a meeting with some engineers. It was hard trying to concentrate. It wasn't actually a meeting, more like a mini-seminar. It was very informal. Every now and then, someone would open up a topic and then a discussion would follow. It's alright if in the entire time it was related to the topic; some of them were just jokes, though. Due to those extra talk, we ended up staying almost half an hour after work.

It would not have been a problem if I did not have to travel for almost an hour home. Luckily our manager has some appointment at the city. Along with two of my officemates who also live at the city, we went home riding in their vehicle, instead of the bus. It was great since if we rode the bus, we would have arrived at the city around thirty minutes more of the time.

Because I was tagged by Elves, 8 Random Stuff about myself:
1. I really like sweets, but I get sore tonsils quite easily from too much sweets.
2. I have lots of general skills, but no specialization that I truly excel at.
3. I am not very good at small talk.
4. I easily get bored.
5. It is more tiring for me to sit still doing nothing.
6. I tend to be hyperactive - usually after a high dose of sugar.
7. I tend to avoid on-line games due to its addictive powers. I easily get hooked to games. XD
8. I am friendly, but people get intimidated because I am usually silent most of the time.

Since I am feeling generous today, I won't tag anyone - mostly due to the fact that most of the people I know was already tagged by Elves (hear that Chibi-Anna-Chan ^^)

Well, see you around!

Almost Roadkill

I really had a hard time waking up yesterday morning. It was raining really hard, and it was nice to keep sleeping.

Unfortunately I had work, so I lazily brought myself to stand up. I hate walking in the rain. I don't like getting my feet wet when I am wearing shoes, and I really hate it when my feet gets wet while wearing shoes for almost the entire day. It's just very uncomfortable.

Luckily, as I was ready to head out of the house, it suddenly stopped raining. Take note, it was raining heavily, and when it was time to get out, it just stopped.

I find it strange that after the typhoon left our area and we no longer have a storm signal, that's when it started raining hard.

Anyway, I finally got to post a fiction in participation to the writing prompts! It's over in my Wordly Wordpad (try saying that ten times over! XD). It's not much of a short story. I just related the morning's heavy rain with a little something.

Wow, this is starting to be a long post... Here I was thinking that I didn't have anything to post.

Yesterday, by the guardhouse here at work, I heard kittens meowing just before I left for home. I looked around and saw a bunch of kids carrying a kitten, and one walking around the floor. I think they were separated from their mom. This one kitten was walking around, and almost got run over by a jeep when it decided to walk under it when the driver stopped to talk with someone. I saw it and I couldn't do a thing because I was so far away. "Squished kitten," was all I could grimly say. Lucky for the kitten, that a guy in a motorcycle, who was nearby, stopped the driver before he could move the vehicle. But it was too late. The kitten was not very lucky, and he managed to walk away with his tail slightly squished because it walked away flicking its tail around.

It was a little kitten, and I don't think it will survive for long without its mother. I don't think there's anything I can do.

Well, see you around.

Memories...

Last night, I was searching for this old art that I had done years ago as a project in school because my sister needed some sort of reference for a project she is currently making.

I can't remember where I kept it so I jumped in my stash of old art.

I stumbled upon a lot of stuff I draw years ago - from character designs, to unfinished manga/comics, tons of sketches and abstract paintings that are just there for file. I had tons of laugh making fun of my own works. I know I mentioned some time ago that we have no right to make fun of other's works, but it's mine, so it's ok.

It's good to keep old art. It reminds us how we've grown. ^^

Some Soul Eating

In my previous post, I mentioned how the fansubbers made fun of Soul Eater by making some crazy subtitles for the show.

Let me clear some things up, ok?

First off, I was not very disappointed that I got the wrong show. I welcome the chance to watch new anime every once in a while. What disappointed me was the way it was subbed. I believe that anime is also like art-no one has the right to make fun of it, no matter how lame it looks to you. What is crap to a person, can be treasure to another.

Second, from watching one episode of Soul Eater, I can really say that it was a very differently rendered show. However, I can't comment on how the story is. The story is what always keeps me around to watch an anime, no matter how strange it may look. Hey, I manage to live through episode fillers with the help of this.

And last, I'm neither confirming nor denying which fansubber I am talking about. I have nothing against them on this matter. It is just a matter of differing opinions.

^^
Oh, almost forgot, I get more activity for posts here on MyO. My world is as active as a tombstone. Thanks my friends!

Funny or not, you decide

I thought I downloaded the latest Naruto Shippuuden, but when I opened it, I was surprised that it was another show. I didn’t even notice that the filename was different – it was naruto soulppuuden. What the heck?

It turns out to be another Anime, Soul Eater. To make matters worse, the subtitles were crazy. It was like the fansubbers were making fun of the show. The song subs, even what the characters were saying was different.

I can understand a little Japanese from watching fan subbed anime, and some of the things that were spoken in the show was oddly disturbing…

The opening song’s subtitle was used as a commentary. For a moment, I really thought that it was the translation of the song!

In a scene, some characters were commenting how the animation budget was really cheap because the rest of their class was frozen.

Somewhere in the middle of the show, a new cloaked character appeared, and when he was asked by this kid who he was, he said he is the brother of one of the main characters. The kid said: “What was that a spoiler? I hate spoilers!” The reply he got was, “It won’t matter to you because you’ll be dead anyway.” What show does that, eh?

Well, I really think the fansubbers really hated this show and decided to make fun of it. I don’t want to mention what group it is, but let’s just say that they usually do a good job for Naruto and Bleach fansub.

I was completely caught off-guard by this one, though. It was a bit fun, and yet annoying. The annoying part is because I can understand some phrases and see that the subs say things that are completely different. If I couldn’t, I probably would have been laughing my head off. Imagine if an anime would do such a thing in reality? Weird, huh?

Some Stuff

I have come to a decision regarding how I post stuff on these sites.

At first, I tried posting the same thing across MyO and Worlds. After a while, I got bored and tried different contents for both sites. It was not until recently when I realized what a mistake that was.

I now have friends, who by choice or necessity, use only MyO or TheO. Therefore, if I place posts regarding some matters on one side, and not on the other, then it would be unfair for those who could not go to the other site, and they will feel blindsided. I would hate that to happen to me, so I suppose my friends do not as well.

So, I guess I will be posting personal life accounts in both sites now, except for writings that I intend to publish in the otaku, or for stuff that needs TheO technology.

The Post:

Friday the 13th was different this year for me. It's usually a lucky day for me. It's a day where I'll usually ace quizzes or top exams. But this time it was different. I was really cranky, probably because I was cranky for some time before Friday. But at least I'm alright.

Our classes kicked off last Saturday. Yes, while most of you guys are enjoying your vacation, here in the Philippines, our classes are just starting. I came late in my first class. I partially intended it since I know that first days are regular yet, and I am expecting a few people. I was surprised to see that there are a lot of people in my class - a room packed with people, in fact. They are probably around 30 or more. Aside from that, the lesson overview was already started. I guess that's the Masters Program for you...

Well, things are going fine so far in my end.

See you around!

I am not in a posting mood...

But that does not mean I am not in a commenting mood. That's why some of you might have seen me wandering around the place.

Well, things are not too bright and sunny in my life right now, but that's life, I guess.

So, hope you have a good day, eh?

See you around!

I made a public apology to people who PM'ed me and was not able to get a reply soonest.

Basically, it consists of some bug for my account that continually said that I have no unread/new mails in the inbox. Must be due to not viewing my inbox since the transfer.

Well, if you can view TheOtaku worlds, just see my
Apologies.

And if you haven't checked your inbox since the transfer, I also suggest just viewing all of the messages.

Also, can someone be kind enough to send me a "test" PM to see if it will appear. If no new message alert appears, I will report it as a bug.

Thanks again, and my apologies once more.

After the new comment box design was approved, I got a lot of comments again, yay!

I don't know about you guys, but I think this community is starting to feel comfortable again, eh?

I still have some stuff that wish would be made in our comment box, like a reply and delete function, and of course a comment manager. This comment manager could greet us with "You have xx new comments; You have xx new comment replies" like in The Otaku.

Ah, but I don't want to pester Bossman after doing something like this which is reviving some sleeping Otakuites.

Anyway, I have a lot of backlogs in my hands. Mostly personal projects, like wallpapers and stuff. I'm trying to see if I can upload one good wallpaper each month.

Well, that's all for now.

See you around.
