Woooo! thast was probably the best birthday eva!
hiya folks. sorry i havnt properly posted since last year. ^^

yesterday was FANTASTIC. i had the most excellent time. i'll give you the play-by-play...

Okies, i had been planning to go to Cambridge to visit a friend, but she had fallen ill with a cold and had come home (which is a lot nearer to where i live then cambridge is!) so that scuttled that plan. so i drove over to Nic's house at about midday and we made plans. then we headed over to Rhian's (my sick friend) and discussed said plans with her. once we were all in agreement, we jumped into my car and we were off!!! back to nics house. ^^;;;;;; but it was just to pick up some cameras for the day. ^^

after that we headed to Eynsford, which is a little town/village about 40 minutes drive away into Kent countryside. It was pissing down with rain, but we had tonnes of CDs and we're all really good mates, so we didnt mind.
Once we got to Eynsford we stopped off and had a pub lunch. I had Cumberland Sausages and chips, Nic had a fry-up and Rhian had jacket potato and tuna. Nic and I also had a game of pool. ^^

After that we headed over to Eynsford castle which is this derelict ruin thats open to the public. It was still raining a bit, so there was nobody there apart from the three of us. we had lots of fun taking pictures of each other doing silly poses on the ruins.

After that we headed back to Rhian's place to drop her off (she has had enough for one day bless her....much kudos to her for even coming out ^^ ) and then headed back to Nic's to discuss our next plan. We were thinking about going to see an anime movie or some other weird random movie, but there was nothing up London we wanted to see, so we instead went over to Bluewater and watched Eragon instead. and i got Nic to chat up the girl who was dishing out the popcorn and drinks. LMAO.

Eragon was quite a good movie, a bit predictable and obvious in places and they could have done so much more with the characters, but it was an entertaining film, well cast and the dragon was beautifuly rendered. in fact the dragon was my fav part of the whole movie. ^^

After that we headed back to Nics again, and i read some manga whilst he copied some of my CDs. then i went back home, got back about 11:30 pm. ^^ had a drink of baileys (hadnt touched a drop of alcohol all day, so felt like i had earned it) and went to bed.

So yeah, all in all a great birthday. i always have fun with Nic, and Rhian being there was an added bonus. we had lots of laughs and we talked about life, love, the universe and everything. so it was definitely a good day.

Ooh, pressies, of course. I got a book by Jeremy Clarkson (who i really like), a book based on a TV quiz show i like called Q.I, three Torchwood books, the first 5 episodes of Torchwood on DVD, X-men 3 on DVD, chocolate (yum) and some money.
Nic also made me this really cool gift art of an introduction to Chibi Darke...it kinda starts off really gritty and dark but ends up with Chibi Darke going "yo". it amuses me. ^^

Thank you to my good friend 29 for the e-card. ^^ twas very sweet of you.
Thanks also to my dear friends in Tennessee for the ecard, and many many thanks also to my sisters for their ecards, my psuedo-twin Mina
(who you should really go visit, cuz she dont get too many visitors these days.)
and my big sister Katy nee-sama .

and thank you to Alandra for the package i got earlier in the week, and to her friends for the birthday greetings.

i also got me some birthday presents. ^^ I bought some new Gundam Models and an Evangelion model, which i have to find the time to make up.

and on tuesday im planning on heading into London to go and buy the stuff i wanted but didnt get for christmas/birthday. ^^

which also means that i REALLY oughter clear some shelf space...it is something that i am losing with great rapidity. ^^; i got lose some of the old junk that i never read or look at any more...

anyways, thanks to all of you who wished me a happy birthday. ^^ here's to the next 20 years.

KAMPAI!

And so, another year draws to a close
Hiya everyone. This is my last post of 2006, and thus a grand review of the year according to Darke.

First off, some recent news. On Friday I went and got me a new leather jacket. And its looking pretty shweet. ^^

And on my birthday I am going on a roadtrip! Me and nic are going to Cambridge to have lunch with Rhian! Its gonna be a blast.

At the hospital where I work there has been an outbreak of something called the Winter Vomiting Virus. 10 wards now have it and the hospital is on high hygiene alert… it’s a real pain…everything has to be cleaned and I have to wash my hands like…all the time… its crazy. But I certainly don’t want to catch the bug, so I put up with all this crazy prevention procedures…

Oh and if ya wanna know how my crimbo went, scroll down and read the post after this one…it has a CDD in it too~

And now…the review.

2006. what a year its been. Its been a good year for travelling and a good year to be with friends. On the other hand, its been a bad year for jobs and careers, and also for story writing. ^^;;;

And as always, a good year for anime and manga and Gundam Models (judging by the complete lack of shelf space in my room.

Bad stuff: not getting into RAF, still stuck in shitty job, got kicked out of cadets, not quite sure what I'm doing with my life and having less and less time to do stuff I enjoy like watching anime, writing stories and the like.

Ok enough of the bad stuff…

This year I have travelled to Malaysia, Tennessee, Wales and Ireland. Malaysia was fantastic, a real life-changing experience, and I had a beautiful time there. The memories are still fresh in my mind, and I always enjoy helping out at Raleigh events cuz it reminds me of the fun and joy I had out there. Its something I will remember for always.

Tennessee…what can I say? Same thing as last year I guess…. DAMN!!!!!!! YOU GUYS ARE THE MOST AWESOME PEOPLE I KNOW! ALWAYS AND FOREVER!!! Seriously, the kindness and hospitality you all showed me out there really touched me deeply and I'm am so grateful that I got to spend two whole weeks with you. I got to see you graduate, I got to go to project graduation, I got to accompany you to Gatlinburg, I got to go to the zoo, I got to go to the lake again (huzzah!) I got to meet ky-chan finally, and I got to cook for you guys. And that’s just a fraction of it. You guys are my closest and bestest friends ever. Mindy. Chrissy. Amber. Ky-chan. And not forgetting Riss-Riss. Thank you for everything. I will never forget you. I look forward to meeting you again. Say hi to PC for me!!!!

Wales and Ireland were the pretty damned fantastic too. I had a real blast there. ^^

Of course, the other highlight of the year was passing my drivers test. (though it took me two tries to get there!) its another measure of freedom. ^^

Artiscally, its been an ok year. there have been some sporadic Chibi Darke Days, but the fella does keep ticking, I’ll give him that. also we have seen the introduction of Boxman. ^^ story wise, not so good. I have only written one story this year, and it’s a short one shot. Hopefully next year I will return to continuing my Gundam Saga.

New anime for me this year include FMA, Macross 7, Macross Zero, Macross Plus, Seed Destiny, Stargazer, Suzumiya Haruhi, Mazinkaiser and Panda-Z, Read or Die and Advent Children. I have also got into Kingdom Hearts this year and am considering buying the game. (KH 2)

2006 has been a good year online too (even though I spent 10 weeks effectively cut off from the internet) especially here on MyO. Xanth Reborn made a comment the other day how I have been here on MyO for a long time. Well, its true. I have been here over three years now. And its always giving me enjoyment. theOtaku and MyOtaku are my online homes and I don’t think I’ll ever leave. I’ve made so many new friends this year. Grifter99, Dark Phoenix, Shireishou, Jangalian, Xanth Reborn, ryuu-kiba and of course, Blue Eyes, to name but a few, and I’ve kept in contact and become even closer to my exisiting friends, including 29, cee-kari, flueky, Mitzy, living doll, weaver, sailor firestar, purgatory, mew wem, luicifers wife, red tigress, mourghan, princess ookumae, shadowcat69 and Yukina123.
Anyone I have forgotten, I apologise.

So 2006, despite some minor set backs, has been a absolutely brilliant year for me. To be honest, I'm very sad to see it go…I almost wish I could do it over again and do it even better. But alas, I am mortal and bound to the flow of time. And besides, who knows what 2007 holds for me? If its going to be anything like 2006…well, I can’t wait. There is a lot of uncertainty facing me this year. but with God and my friends by my side, I say:

BRING IT ON!!!

^^

Hope you all have a wonderful new year and I hope 2006 treated you as kindly as it did myself.

I finish with two items. One is my end of year CDD.

The end of BoxMan? Don’t count on it…

And to finish this year off…a video. It’s an FMA amv set to the song “Two Perfect Girls” from the anime Pokemon (hell yeah!) as sung by Brock…i have had this song stuck in my head. And now its your turn…

You can try to tell me you didnt enjoy that, but you know in your heart that you'd be LYING.

Thank You EVERYONE. I look forward to spending 2007 with you.

Toodles!!!

*strolls off into the new year singing*

“Jenny…oh Jenny…Joy…ohh Joy…a one woman man is what I wanna be, but there’s two perfect girls for me…”

Hard Core Chillin…cuz its so freakin cold…
Hiya folks. Sorry I havnt been sticking to a rigid Posting schedule recently, partly due to holidays, partly due to me having to work my ass off this week (I have worked every single day since last Friday…that includes Christmas day and boxing day)
And partly due to other mitigating factors.

Well, did everyone have a nice Christmas? Mine was pretty good in the end, all things considering. I got some cool presents too. ^^ I got Princess Mononoke on DVD (which is one I have wanted to see for ages), two books that I had asked for, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest on DVD, a Doctor Who guide, tickets to go and see a theatre show of my choice, an IOU for a leather jacket and my brother also decided to get me a tomato growing kit. Y’know. Because.

But the two prize items I got were Final Fantasy 7: Advent Children OST and The Place Promised in Our Early Days OST, which are next to impossible to buy in England. ^^ so yeah, I did really well. Many many thanks to my family. Tomorrow I'm going to go looking for Leather Jackets, which my mum promised to get me for Christmas, but its hard to buy a jacket without trying it on and deciding what kind ya wanna get. Hence the IOU. ^^ I like my full length leather jacket very much, but there are times when it just isn’t suitable. So I'm gonna get a normal length one.

What did you guys get? I hope ya all got what you wanted. I know blue didn’t quite. ^^;;;; I maintain that the postage would have been hella expensive.

I hope that everyone I sent cards to got them and liked them. Thank you to those who sent me an e-card. They were muchly appreciated.

As I said, this week I’ve been hella busy, mostly at work. I got new years day off and I got next Saturday (the 6th Jan 2007) off, which also, coincidentally happens to be Watasefan’s birthday.

Oh, and mine. XD

It will be my 20th birthday …I'm such an old fogey. LMAO not really. But two whole decades on planet earth without too much damage…kudos to me eh? Lol

I'm planning on picking up Nic and heading up to Cambridge with him for my birthday. Hopefully we can meet with rhian there and have lunch. I might take paddy with us too. But failing that, we might go bowling, or up London or something….we’re just gonna go crazy and have a good time.

I got some piccies to show you guys, one is a cdd, the other is some doodles. I have also got to do a New Years CDD. ^^ and maybe have Boxman join in the fun too.

Anyhoo…PICCIES

When I'm at work, there’s often a couple of times throughout the day where there is nothing to do. So I usually end up grabbing lil scraps of paper and doodling. Here are some of the more interesting things I’ve doodled recently…

I have a weird imagination…its fun. ^^

Okies, I’ll explain. Top left is an original mecha design I have been working on. I wanted something looking feminine but still military-esque. The story these appear in never got finished (or very far at all) but I like to keep designs up to date and ideas flowing…I might return to it one day.

Top Right is a lil Chibi doodle of Kayleigh. For some bizarre reason which I put down to sleep deprevation, I wanted to put her in that outfit. Then I kept her hair short and added some make up. (again, don’t know why). She looked kinda extravagant and artistic, so she’s saying “Art Nouveau Darlin’” which I spelt wrong. Go figure. But for some reason I draw endless amounts of amusement and happiness from this doodle.

Bottom Left I have a picture of Melanie, the latest addition to my character repertoire. And a doodle of the Mecha Mista P! my own super robot. XD and a vague half sketch of another super robot, a female type.

And Bottom Right is a sketch of Jen (from my recent short fiction for any of you who remember) playing the violin and sporting her recently acquired glasses. She looks pretty sharp if I do say so myself. Beware though…her gun is within easy reach…

So yah. I get bored easily at work. But that’s good news for you, cuz it means I come up with things like this CDD!!

what the hell is her hair made of anyway?

So now ya know. The mystery of Rose’s hair has been solved.

I shall update again on Sunday with my yearly review Post. Then I shall try to return to regular updates in the new year.

I hope everyone has a great new year. what are your plans? Mine are same as the last two years…stay in my room, watch a movie and draw a new years piece of art. Hopefully this year’s will be better then last years, but I still have yet to think of a concept…though I have a few vague ideas I'm willing to try out.

Well, have a great rest of 2006 everyone! I shall see you all Sunday with my review of the year. Take Care!!!

And now for something…that will make KH fans cry…

Yuffie: And this is the Hollow Bastion Restoration Committee!
Aerith: We missed you!
Sora: *looks horrified and turns around to his companions and whispers* I see dead people…

Drums: buh doom boom ~cymbal clash~

Darke: Hi everyone and welcome to the Christmas show. This will be my last post before that great time of year, Hanukah.

Laura: *nudge*

Darke: oh yeah and Christmas too. ^^; I'm actually working Christmas day, so sucks to be me.

I have had the last few days off work, so I’ve been wasting my time doing bugger all and watching funny videos on YouTube. I’ll show ya some later, if ya have the time to watch them.
I have decorated the main tree, and the house with Christmas decs, but I have yet to put up my mini tree.
I have also bought all my xmas pressies, but have yet to wrap them.
I have ALSO been a busy lil spy and rounded up all YOUR EMAIL ADDRESSES. Bwa ha ha. But I have yet to do my e-cards. ^^; I'm 50% ready for Christmas.

I went to a party at Nic’s house this week. Nic always throws awesome parties, and this one was a blast. I had a funky hat, which I borrowed off of him, and I wore it all night. It was kind of this weird headwrap thing that made me look like I had dreadlocks. T’was awesome. I want one. ^^ well, I say I wore it all night. That wasn’t true. I wore it half the night, and then some girl named “D” said she wanted to wear it, so I wore her hat instead, which was a sort of woolly cap. I also wore Rhian’s scarf, cuz it smelt nice. I met up with all my old friends who I havnt seen in AGES and had a laugh. I also met some people who I may have possibly met before, but couldn’t remember. And I met some brand new people. And we got about 20 people into the sauna. And decided it was too hot so we came out again. And we played great party games like this weird cross between Chinese Whispers and Pictionary. Its very complicated, but ludicrously funny. And we consumed (between everyone there) VAST amounts of alcohol. I myself didn’t have very much. Just enough to have Extrovert Talkative Social Phil Who Actually Talks To People He Doesn’t Know Very Well At Random Times But Isnt Drunk make an appearance. ^^

But yeah. GREAT party. I crashed on Nics floor that night and actually slept better then I had been at home.

Its frickin freezing here. Our heating seems to have packed up, so it is VERY cold in my house. Though strangely, the hot water in the taps doesn’t seem to have been affected, which makes me think its not actually the boiler.

Also, its been really foggy here the last few days, with like 100 metres visibility being about the average. I was on my home from work last night, and I could barely see anything with my visor down, so I was riding with it up, and the next thing I know this policeman is standing in front of me and telling me to pull over. So I pull to the side of the road and he comes to speak to me. The first thing he asked me was my age, and then he said “what do you see around you?” and I said “Cop cars” cuz there were, and it was a totally honest answer and it was the first thing that came to my head. Then he said “apart from that” and I was like “…oh yeah, fog.”
Basically I was doing 40 mph in a 30 mph zone, and cuz it was foggy, I should have been going even slower then that. ^^;;;;;;;; but he was really nice and didn’t give me a ticket or anything. He let me off with a warning. Phew. But it was really funny, cuz I kept calling him “Sir” and as he let me off he said “and don’t call me sir, it makes me feel old.” LMAO. So that was fun. Sorta.

I have also been pulling out all the stops to do a Christmas Art for this year. And here it is, for YOUR enjoyment! ^^

There’s more spirits then spirit about you spirit…

A lil parody on Dickens “A Christmas Carol” for ya there. ^^

And I think that’s it from me today. I shall probably post next week to see how y’all got on and then a final post around the 30th/31st where I’ll review my year and post my aspirations for the year upcoming.

Well, I’d like to leave you with some funny videos.

This one has some adult humour in it, but I think you’ll enjoy.

And if you liked that, check out “Kingdom Hearts: The stupid files” 1-12 by This guy here.

And I’d also like to show you this comedic video here. My particular fav bit is the “Creepy Guy” sequence set to Hellsing

And if you liked that, check out the AMV Comedians series by This guy here which was pointed out to me by Chie-chan. Thanks chie!

Well, have a good Christmas. But remember what its all about! Its not about presents. Its not about spending time with your family. Its about commercialism taking over a Christian holiday which itself overtook from several other religions, including Paganism and some weird ass ancient roman religion. I celebrate Jesus’ birthday on this day. You can also do that, or you can find something of your own to celebrate. Just have a good 25th of December, ok? Whatever you end up doing. ^^

Toodles.

Great Mangoes of Fire Boxman! its only a week till christmas!!!
yeah. go figure. i still havnt done all my christmas shopping. but most of my cards have been done.

apologies for not updating yesterday, but seeing how MyO was quieter then a graveyard on sunday morning, it seems like it didnt matter too much anyway.

i dont actually have too much to say. Friday went ok. i had work and in the evening was the last lot of snorkelling club for the year. ^^ choccie night! ^^ and games too.

Saturday i went out with my parents christmas shopping. i managed to get my older brother two books and my mum a book. the funny thing is that i thougt the book was gonna cost me £7.99 but when the cashier scanned it, it came to 99p! (100 pence to the pound in case you are wondering) so i got part of my mums christmas pressie for 99 pence. ^^ im gonna get her something else too.

yesterday i went out again with my folks, this time to get a crimbo tree. its now stinking up the front room. natural christmas trees are a pain. i miss the plastic one. *shrugs* oh well.
we still got to decorate the tree, and i still gotta put up my lil plastic one for my room.

i've been thinking alot about what i can do this upcoming year in prder to get out and do more proactive stuff that allows me to develop confidence and team leading/working skills. i've considered joining a gym (to get proper fit), joining an adult education centre and doing something like a language course or something. and i've also considered doing something like Camp America or something similar. i think that last one especially will look good on my CV, but i gotta look into it sometime this week, cuz im pretty sure you have to apply early for it. im also considering getting a new job, but havnt decided what yet.

this past few days i have been writing a little story. its a return to one of my older series, Earth Angels: Heaven and Earth. Its called "Change" and can be read At my fictionpress account here if ya have twenty mins or so, give it a read and let m know what you think. feedback is greatly appreciated. ^^

well, thats it from me today. have a good week. see y'all later!

A man walks into a bar. ouch.

Eat, Sleep and Wii
because i am a fairly modern guy and all for new methods in the world of blogging, i offer you, the reader, a choice.

ONE: if you wanna know whats going on in my life and what i've been up to lately, go read last sundays post (the one below). it has pictures and details and voo-doo balloons.

TWO: if ya done that already and you want something weird and slightly schizo to read/look at, go take a gander at my crappy diary comics from my time in Ireland, which can be found BY PRESSING THIS SECTION OF WORDS WHICH IS A DIFFERENT COLOUR AND IS UNDERLINED AND WILL TAKE YOU TO A WORLD OF CREEPY RETARDED DRAWINGS AND MILD PSYCHOSIS.

THREE: if your computer wont let you go on to D.A or you dont want to mentally scar yourslef for life and instead want to hear me rant about how a next generation console has totally ruined one of my regular jokes in my repotoire, read the following section:

"stupid new Nintendo console. totally ruined a joke i like to use. the joke goes like this: Theres an Englishman, a Scotsman and an Irishman (typial format) and the come across a slide in the middle of nowhere. suddenly a magical genie appears and tells them that if they slide down the slide and yell out something, whatever they yelled out will be waiting for them at the bottom. So the englishman decides to give it a try. He slides down the slide and yells "beautiful busty girls!" and low and behold, as he reaches the end of the slide, a harem of beautiful girls catches him and walk off with him. So the Scotsman decided to have a go. He slides down the slide and yells "a life-time supply of whisky!" and sure enough as he reaches the bottom, he lands in a huge truck carrying a lifetimes supply of whiskey. So the Irishman gets up on the slide and slides down, yelling "WEEEEEE!!!!"

obviously, originally the joke was to intend the irishman to land in a vat of urine by playing on the words "wee" and "whee!" but now, tell that joke to kids and they'll be like "so what? he landed next on a Wii? and got the latest next generaion console for nothing?" and whilst the concept of an irishman sliding onto a Wii is quite amusing, i prefer the original joke.
anyway, thats my stupid rant for the day."

OPTION FOUR: you can read this funny email my brother sent me.

After every flight, Qantas pilots fill out a form, called a "gripe sheet," which tells mechanics about problems with the aircraft. The
mechanics correct the problems, document their repairs on the form, and then pilots review the gripe sheets before the next flight.

Never let it be said that ground crews lack a sense of humor. Here are some actual maintenance complaints submitted by Qantas' pilots (marked
with a P) and the solutions recorded (marked with an S) by maintenance engineers.

(By the way, Qantas is the only major airline that has never had an accident.)

P: Left inside main tire almost needs replacement.
S: Almost replaced left inside main tire.

P: Test flight OK, except auto-land very rough.
S: Auto-land not installed on this aircraft.

P: Something loose in cockpit.
S: Something tightened in cockpit.

P: Dead bugs on windshield.
S: Live bugs on back-order.

P: Autopilot in altitude-hold mode produces a 200 feet per minute descent.
S: Cannot reproduce problem on ground.

P: Evidence of leak on right main landing gear.
S: Evidence removed.

P: DME volume unbelievably loud.
S: DME volume set to more believable level.

P: Friction locks cause throttle levers to stick.
S: That's what they're for.

P: IFF inoperative.
S: IFF always inoperative in OFF mode.

P: Suspected crack in windshield.
S: Suspect you're right.

P: Number 3 engine missing.
S: Engine found on right wing after brief search.

P: Aircraft handles funny.
S: Aircraft warned to straighten up, fly right, and be serious.

P: Target radar hums.
S: Reprogrammed target radar with lyrics.

P: Mouse in cockpit.
S: Cat installed.

P: Noise coming from under instrument panel. Sounds like a midget pounding on something with a hammer.
S: Took hammer away from midget.

Dont wanna know why, everybody ready, get it on.
"Fire Wars" Jam Project

hi folks. sorry i dodnt update last week. i have been hella busy at work, all morning shifts. >.< which is not fun. however, i have lots of stuffs to update with, and a few piccies too. rah.

so first off, i got my shifts back for the christmas period. anyone who was here this time last year would recall that i had to work christmas day last year.
well, i have to do it again this year. NUUUU! but strangely, im not too bothered by that fact. i guess i was kind of expecting it. it will still suck, but at least it should be fairly quiet that day. *touches wood*
what really sucks is that on boxing day i have to work ALL DAY! arrgh. boxing day i normally go and visit the extended family. instead i have a 11 hour shift. oh well. its double pay. SILVA LINING!

oh oh oh, and i got a PAYRISE this week! and backpay too. i got a 13 pence pay rise (i cant be arsed to convert that into cents, do it yourself) and 80 quid back pay for the last three months. ISS (the company i work for) was meant to give everyone a raise in April, but didnt. so now all that extra money we SHOULD have been earning has been given to us. and i am working now at £6.10 an hour. huzzah!

This week i managed to finish most of my christmas cards and send em off. why did i decide to personally design most of my christmas cards???!?? oh well. they should be there around christmas (maybe a bit after). i hope the people who are getting them enjoy them. ^^

despite having my first day off all week yesterday, i still had to get up early because i was going up to London to help out at another Raleigh information event. the event was fun, and i met someone there i knew. he used to attend to my school, he was three or four years above me. it was quite weird knowing i had been on a Raleigh Expedition, but he had not. ^^
i also met another ex-venturer there, who had been to Malaysia like i had, but three years before. Whenever you meet someone who has been on an expedition, you instantly strike up a bond with them, so i hit it off with this girl (who for the life of me, i cannot remember her name...im terrible with names. ^^; ) anyways, after the event we both got on the London Underground train to take us back into the main city so she could catch a train home and i could go shopping. we were so wrapped up in conversation about malaysia that we failed to notice we had got on the wrong train. it wasnt too big a deal though, we got off, caught a train on a different line and parted ways as i went to get a third underground train whilst she was gonna carry on to Victoria railway station. it was really nice meeting someone who has had similar experiences to myself and understood what i was going on about when i talk about malaysia and who's eyes dont sort of glaze over after a while. LOL. she was kinda cute too. (sorry Blue!)

anyways,after we parted ways, i headed back into central london to try and do some christmas shopping. unfortunatly that endevour failed miserably. i did manage to pick up four DVDs for myself though! ^^;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;
lol, it could have been a lot worse...i saw a manga and three other dvds i wanted to get, but knew they were on my christmas list, and thus other people might be getting them for me. so i had to leave em be. darn.

i also stopped off in an instrument shop to have a nose at some of the guitars in there. my lil brother wants a guitar (so he doesnt have to keep borrowing my older brother's one) but DAMN are guitars expensive. i might have to make do and buy him a book of music instead. LOL.

ive recently started re-reading the "Tales of the Otori" trilogy. its a really good set of books, set in a ficitonal part of japan in feudal times, though terminology like "samurai" and "ninja" and "geisha" are never used. they are instead replaced with more western terms like "warrior", "assasin" and "whore/prostitute/courtesan" which gives the story an almost vague sense to it. you know its japan, but it might as well be anywhere. that way the story caters to all rather then devout feudal japan fiction fans. it is meant to be a young persons book after all. anways, i really enjoy this trilogy, and now i've learned the author has released a sequal, a large book that kind of ties all the loose ends together and finally ends the story. its on my christmas list (though i was so tempted to buy it yesterday)

anyway, enough Jibba Jabba...

PICTURES! w00t.

first off, i've finally got round to painting and making the lil SD Gundam model i got as a consolation prize for the "Design your own Gundam" competition i entered a while back. my paint skills arent up to much (which is why i like Gundam models so much...no paint needed!) but i think i turned out pretty well.

I present to you: SUPER DEFORMED WING GUNDAM ZERO DARKE CUSTOM (Endless Waltz version)

BUSTA!!!! RIFLE!!!!

This colour scheme is actually the same colour scheme for the Solar Swashbucklers, a fictional Pirate group that appears in my original Fiction: Gundam Scroll.

with RED beam sabre

The red angel depicted on the chest is kind of a trade mark in my Gundam designs.

red wings!! w00t!

no stickers! bwa ha ha!!! i used a hella lot of paint though.

i really should paint the panel lines on my first version

side by side... Wing Zero Darke Custom and the original Wing Gundam Zero(Endless Waltz Version)

neat huh?

and yes! i have a comic for you!!!!

and here's another figure of speech...kiss my shiny metal 455

Calling a sentient miniture cyernetic angel with the processing power of a hundred super computers a "machine" is like calling Stephen Hawking or Albert Einstein "clever". its like...yeah, they are but using such a low caliber word to describe them is practically an insult.

well, thats it from me today. if you read ALL of that, you can have balloon shaped like somebody you hate. why would you want a balloon shaped like somebody you hate? CUZ ITS A VOO-DOO BALLOON! you only need one pin. ^^

oh ok, you can have a cookie if you read the entire post too.

Toodles!

and just like that...
i have nothing to say. so you're gonna get treated to a ramble post. pick out the bits you like and keep them as a memento of when i used to say stuff that actually meant anything...

its december! w00t. course, it was december when i last posted...i think...i cant remember. bt i have an advent calander! woo-hoo! for those of you who dont know, an advent calander is a calander for advent, i.e the 24 days running up to christmas. i know that sounds really boring, but advent calanders traditonally have chocolate in them for evry single day. and they usually have a theme to them. ^^ for the last few years i've been getting "the Simpsons" advent calanders, but this year i got "PIRATES OF THE CARRIBEAN"!! w00t! so i have a lil choccie everyday until christmas and i have a Johnny Depp as Captain Jack Sparrow. lol. hopefully one of us will be getting the 2nd movie for christmas. ^^

finally finished watching Macross 7 on youtube. i quite enjoyed the series actually. i've really got into Macross these past few months, and i think Macross 7 is the main reason.
theres not a whole lot of point really trying to explain the whole format of the story, seeing as you sorta need to have a basic understanding of the Macross universe to get a good idea about the subtle nuances of the show, but essentially Macross 7 is a huge emmigration fleet (one of many) searching the universe for a new planet to settle on. On their journey, they are attacked by beings called Protodevlin (and a bunch of brainwashed humans) who want to steal their "Spiritia" or life force. The Protodevlin are particularly interested in the Humans (and their cousins the Zentradi) because they have the ability to regenerate their spiritia after its been taken from them. conventional weapons have limited effectivness against the Protodevlin, but there is one thing that has a huge effect on them...a being called "Anima Spiritia". this is found in the young rock guitarist Nekki Basara, part of a rock group called "Fire Bomber". Like Lynn Minmei of the Original Macross war, Basara's music has the power to sway the enemy. the power of the music which he sings from the heart is the key to defeat of the protodevlin. However, Basara doesnt see the protodevlin as his enemy. he just sees them as another group of people who doesnt understand his music. whenever the protodevlin attack, he leaps into the battle with his customised VF-19 (a jet fighter that transforms into a robot) and plays his music to the enemy.

thats essentially it. it sounds really daft, but the awesome soundtrack and the fact it has jets/robots in it kept me watching, and i really got attached to the series. ^^

this is an AMV from the series, set to Fire Bomber's most excellent "Holy Lonely Night"

i have a number of their other tracks which i have downloaded and im getting round to putting them on my minidisc player.

and thats it from me today...if i think of anything more, ill be sure to let you guys know.

TTFN: ta ta fer now...
