My usual theO schedule was messed up this past few days, for one very good reason: .hack//G.U.
I've been playing it a lot, almost too much. I don't want to beat the game too quickly, then it'll be forever till the second game comes out. Still, although I'm having a lot of fun with it, I'm also disappointed. The gameplay is still very repetitive, and the dungeons moreso. But, I am getting into the storyline, so I can ignore the cons and concentrate more on the pros of the game.
It was funny, the last few days leading up to GU's release, I was having geek worries. I thought, "What if EB Games doesn't have my preorder anymore? What if they sell it because I didn't pick it up in time?!" It was all very silly; nothing went wrong when I picked up the game.

But yes, other than .hack (because other things do happen to exist), I've been doing my schoolwork. Actually, today was a very short school day, I just started late so I still have some work to do. At least I gots a shmexy new haircut. ;P

And so, Happy Halloween to all, and to all a goodnight.

Drain Heart

I just keep seeing cool manga from theOtaku users. I just read this one called The Forgotten Memories. The art is fantastic so far, and apparently it'll get even better! I hope to see the manga-ka's best stuff soon enough.

So, all day today (or Thursday) I've been doing schoolwork. I would've finished hours ago if I wasn't doing two days worth of it, today's and tomorrow's. I'm giving myself the day off Friday, cause I'll be getting .hack//G.U. in the morning. That's one of the best things about homeschool, you can work ahead of schedule if you want to. It helps for times like this. lol
Some of you might remember me mentioning a program I'm doing called "Draw Today". I had a lot of fun with that earlier. I got to draw good ol' Abraham Lincoln. Maybe I'll scan it and post the picture sometime. It'd be great if this program could lead me to start drawing manga style. I'll cross my fingers, anyway. XP

Even more good news! I downloaded Windows Movie Maker; I can maybe make AMVs now. YES! I've been wanting to do so for a long time. It seems pretty easy to use, too. If this works out, I'll finally be able to make that .hack//SIGN video I've had in mind. Again, I shall cross my fingers and hope.

That's about it for me. I still have some Latin work to do, so I need to be getting off. I just wanted to post something.
Hope you guys had a good day. Ta!

I <3 Manga

Okay, so I really shouldn't be posting right now, 'cause I should be doing my schoolwork, but this won't take too long.
I'm very satisfied with the submissions so far for the Fan-Manga section. It's mostly Original Anime, which I'm happy to see. I'd rather read original stories than ones based off of an existing series, to be honest. By the way, I suggest you guys go read Koldoon and Skate Monkey; those are the manga I've read so far, and they're pretty good. I haven't been able to read as many fan-manga yet as I would've liked, but maybe I can later tonight.
Just makes me wish I could draw manga, to a certain extent. I have at least two stories in my head that I would love to share with everyone else, but 1) I do not possess the drawing skills to do so, and 2) I would rather write a script for one of them first. Bah, we'll see. It's very frustrating sometimes...

So, I haven't started work on any new wallpapers so far. XP Just haven't had the time, I guess. I'd like to make one more before I start playing .hack//GU, but it might never happen. I was really wanting to make a Cougar (Scryed) wallpaper for tomieharley as well. Blah, we'll see about that too.

I'm starting to get more comfortable with my shinken (live blade) in iaido. Right now, our swords are sharp, and we won't be able to dull them for a little while. Until then, I'm supposed to practice drawing and sheathing the sword, so that I can then move on to other things. I also gotta make sure I practice that later today. It might help if I did some schoolwork first.
Gashsplurnit, guess that means I'm getting off now. Ta!

Those old school days

Yesterday (as in Oct. 19) was a good day for me. I caught up a lot in school; finally did my Draw Today assignment, and I wrote a bunch of Current Event papers. I also caught up in Eureka 7. Stayed up late just so I could see all four episodes I had recorded. You just want Renton and Eureka to be happy! *sniff*

I'm already getting the itch to make another wallpaper. I found a backgrounds site that I had used before my family switched computers, so that'll help a little bit. I'm actually getting a little tired of doing .hack 'papers. I would start working on this Kurz (Full Metal Panic) wallpaper for my sister, but I want to wait until I find the right background, and abstract (which I usually use) won't work for this character, so it may be awhile. I'd also like to make a Pokemon 'paper sometime soon, just because. We'll see how it all goes.

I'm really happy about the Fan-Manga section. I hope people submit lots of stuff, NOT just Bleach, Naruto and FMA, so I can read even more stories! Right now I can't afford any new manga, as we're entering the Christmas shopping season soon. Gashsplurnit, why did the new Tsubasa have to come out this month?!

Ta for now, then!

Artistically Frustrated... again

I went ahead and submitted that .hack wallpaper I was working on. I'm not very satisfied with it, actually. There's a lot I wish I could fix, but I just don't have the right programs for it. Still, the wallpaper is at least halfway decent, so I decided to submit it anyway. XP Gashsplurnit.

While we're on the topic of wallpapers, there's something I've been wanting to say in my posts for awhile, but I keep forgetting. I wish that theOtaku had an Artist's Favorites kind of option for when you're browsing user's artwork, whether wallpapers, fanarts, or even greeting cards. My most popular wallpapers are definitely not my favorites, so I wish there was some way for other people to see which ones I liked best. I dunno, blah.

Anyway, I gotta get back to school now. Ta!

Death Note, huh?

Today at church, my otaku friend James was there (not the James from theOtaku XP). Since I've been hearing so much about Death Note lately, I got a summary about it from him.
So... this guy basically can kill people by knowing their name and face? Is that right? And he decides to go around and be God by punishing major criminals? I can see why that's popular. lol There are a lot of popular manga series right now, like Ouran Host Club High... thing. Gashsplurnit, I want to try them all! But, without money, Monkey has no new manga. Tis the way of the world. XP

By the way, anyone else notice how weird it is that I've updated the past three days in a row? That's so strange for me. I really shouldn't even be updating right now, I should be going to bed. But, I'll (hopefully) get off soon.
Some other news: My dad is almost done with our bathroom! YES! He just has to install the shower, and everything will be fully functional. My dad works on things so slowly, kind of like the rest of the browns in my family (or me and Eric). Bah, I say. I just want my shower back.

By the way, I'm insisting that you all take the new Katamari Damacy quiz. My results are below.

Halloween is nearing...

So, I submitted my entry for the Halloween contest. I made an e-card of Guu from Hare+Guu. Even if I don't win the contest, I hope people like the card. I mean, it's Guu-sama!

Is anyone else going to see The Nightmare Before Christmas in theaters this month? I'm thinking about it. It would be pretty fun, actually. At the same time, I'm not sure I want to spend the money to see a movie I already own. XP Even if it will be in 3-D. I dunno, I'll think about it.
I should probably save my money and get my dad a birthday present instead. His birthday is on Halloween, so I don't have too much time left to look for a gift. He's so hard to shop for...

Just one little question for you guys: Who's actually going to go out and trick-or-treat? Or, are you even going to wear a costume on the 31st? Curious, I be.

.hack//G.U. in 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5...

Man, I'm just counting down the days now until .hack//G.U. It's very exciting. Soon, a new option shall be added that will allow me to further put off my schoolwork, that I desperately need to catch up on before it builds up any further.
Really, it's just some simple papers, but I can never start any writing assignments. >.<

Speaking of putting off schoolwork, I was doing just that earlier today when I was working on another wallpaper. Can you guess what anime it's for? Right! .hack! What else do I talk about? XP
It's almost done, it's just a matter of quality. I can submit it the way I want it to be with lesser quality, or I can take the time to work on it a bit more and make it that much better. I think I will go with the second option this time around...

By the way, has anyone entered the Halloween contest yet? I still need to make a good e-card before the deadline.

Procastination runs rampant!

Although I'm supposed to be doing school right now, I just want to make a quick post.
Last Saturday, my family went out to my uncle's boat and we scattered my grandfather's ashes. (Even though it's very possible that it was illegal to do so on that particular lake.)
I'm glad my mom was able to do that. Obviously, it was very hard for her to do, she was crying before we left. The moment she actually scattered the ashes was very emotional, I was crying a little bit myself.
We saved a few of the ashes, so my aunt and uncle can scatter the rest with my aunt's mother's ashes in Italy. Turns out, my aunt's mom died the same day, two years earlier, as my grandfather.
Goodbye, Papa. Enjoy yourself in heaven.

dot hack is sweeeet....

Blah, I have iaido class in about 40 minutes. Gotta make this post kind of quick, even though I have some stuff to actually say for once.

My brother Eric decided, out of nostalgia, to buy a couple of the Beast Wars Transformers (it's their 10th anniversary). He's already ordered more; earlier, both of my brothers got out all of their old transformers because of the chain effect Eric had started. Ahhh, I love it when they're geeky. I know I am not alone that way.

So, I started school this week... finally. I still don't have a huge workload. To have people understand, it's as if I'm just skipping the class part and going straight to the homework. It usually amounts to about 3-4 hours of work, if I do it right away. Often, I'll take advantage of the fact that I can put it off, and procastinate. Which I did today, actually. XP I still have some reading to do later, and then Latin as well. But, I like Latin, and the reading won't be that bad, so it's all good. I'm just happy I got "Draw Today" over with.
Now, the good thing about that program, "Draw Today", is that I'll finally be taking a step towards learning how to draw. BUT, I had to draw a "before" picture of something, so that after the program I can draw it again and see how I've improved. It's a little embarassing, 'cause I suck so much, even though no one else is really going to see it. Oh well... at least there's Latin to enjoy.

I PRE-ORDERED .HACK//GU! YAAAAY!
Not just the regular edition either, the special edition. Hee hee, my .hack obsession endures!
Also, did anyone else see the new South Park Wednesday night? It was so funny, one of my favorites for sure. Although it was about World of Warcraft, I could only but be reminded of .hack. Why not? Tis so easy to do. *nods*

I've been reading some online comics lately, out of boredom. I can't buy more manga after all (such a tight budget lately), so I've resorted to reading them online. So far, I've started Van Von Hunter, Spritescape Fantasy, No Need For Bushido, and Disfunctional Pokemon Adventure. Just wait, I'll be reading so many different online comics in no time. Must satisfy my hunger for more stories!

Yeah, that's about it. Okay, so maybe not a whole lot of interesting stuff. I did sprain my toe! Hope it doesn't effect my performance too much at iaido class tonight. It's pretty much healed all the way, but still... if I do anything wrong, or twist it the wrong way, I could just re-sprain it. That would suck. I already wasn't able to practice much this week, so if it sprained again... blast.

Enough about my boring life. How were you guys? Are you dreading school next Monday, or... ? Well, I'll find out more about that later on when I check sites. Ta for now!
