Another episode of Hope and Cruelty
*dramatic soap opera music*

He walks into the room and says, "I'm casting my tie breaking vote."
She looks at him in hope, "Yes, please do."
He stares her in the eyes and says, "Eureka 7... and that's my final answer."
A soft whisper escapes her lips, "No..."
She turns in complete dismay. "How can you do this? You know how much I love Gungrave." She begins to sob.
"I have my reasons." He says in a demanding voice. "And besides, I'm getting you back for calling me a smartass all of these years!" As he exits the room, leaving her sobbing.

Thank you Wolf of Darkstar, for your vote for Eureka 7. It broke the tie, but not in the way I wanted it too. And I thought you were my friend... sheesh!

Heheh, now who's the smartass?!

So, yes Eureka 7 moves on and Gungrave is out of this thing. To my disappointment. At least Trigun is still in it. Anyway, here's the results from yesterday's match ups.

Anime Series Old Generation
Rurouni Kenshin (6) vs Neon Genesis Evangelion (1)

Anime Series New Generation
Kino's Journey (0) vs Ghost in the Shell: SAC 2nd Gig (6)

Movie (based on anime or video game)
Castle of Cagliostro (0) vs Cowboy Bebop: Knockin' on Heaven's Door (6)

Manga
Girl Got Game (0) vs Death Note (5)

Video Game
Soul Caliber (6) vs Gran Turismo (0)

Well, atleast there's no ties today. Turnout was rather low on this round. Perhaps I should become a "GB whore" and go find me some more people to vote in this thing. Oh, and by the way I'd like to thank those of you who have taken the time to visit and vote. Especially the people who take the time, but yet haven't updated your own sites. Now that's dedication! I really appreciate you guys. Last year I gave special mention to those who had the highest attendance through the Otakubowl. ^_^

Anyway, here's today's matches.

Anime Series Old Generation
Astro Boy vs Berserk

Anime Series New Generation
Fate/Stay Night vs Bleach

Movie (based on anime or video game)
Spirited Away vs Tokyo Revelations

Manga
Paradise Kiss vs Rebirth

Video Game
X-Men vs Super Mario

And there you have them.

I most likely won't be on myO over the weekend. So, I hope everyone has a good weekend. See ya on Monday!

I agree with everyone's comments about the couple who murdered the little girl. And yes, I hope they get the death penalty. Or, as some of you mentioned, and I know this as well, will be killed in prison.

Not much happened on Wednesday. It was a rather uneventful day. I have some stuff that I'm having to deal with involving my 11 year old son and some families in the next block. It's kind of weighing heavily on my mind. Then I helped out a friend here on myO who was having site problems. The funny thing is that in my attempt to help, I ended up messing up my html help site in the process. But I got it resolved pretty much. I just have to get everything back on there. It's okay, though. No big deal. ^_^

So, now on to the Otakubowl. The match between Gungrave and Eureka 7 has resulted in a tie. So, I will take one more vote to break it. (The way I handle ties is mentioned in the information in the iframe above.) Here's the results from yesterday's match ups.

Anime Series Old Generation
Orphen (3) vs Cowboy Bebop (5)

Anime Series New Generation
Gungrave (3) vs Eureka 7 (3)

Movie (based on anime or video game)
Fullmetal Alchemist: Conqueror of Shambala(5) vs Vampire Hunter D (1)

Manga
Saiyuki Reload (3) vs Fullmetal Alchemist(4)

Video Game
HALO (4) vs Zone of the Enders: The 2nd Runner (2)

So, the first vote I receive for the Gungrave vs Eureka 7 match will break it. And I'll post that tomorrow.

Here's the matches for today.

Anime Series Old Generation
Rurouni Kenshin vs Neon Genesis Evangelion

Anime Series New Generation
Kino's Journey vs Ghost in the Shell: SAC 2nd Gig

Movie (based on anime or video game)
Castle of Cagliostro vs Cowboy Bebop: Knockin' on Heaven's Door

Manga
Girl Got Game vs Death Note

Video Game
Soul Caliber vs Gran Turismo

And there you have them. Looking forward to your votes.

Have a good Thursday.

Something sad
Monday night on the news there was a story about a 4 year old girl who had died at the hands of her father and stepmother. The details are pretty bad, and I won't mention everything. But one of the things about this, that resulted in her death, really disturbs me. Apparently the little girl would have "accidents" in her clothes and they would make her stand up straight in the tub and wash her clothes. If she didn't stay up they would hit her with a broom stick. Or if she started to fall asleep they would put her head in the water to wake her up. Well, apparently they were making her do this last Saturday night and the stepmother left the room. When she returned the little girl was unresponsive. The father and stepmother tried doing CPR, which at some point the father went outside to smoke a cigarette. They weren't successful at reviving her, so they took her to the hospital emergency room, where she was pronounced dead. The couple are being charged with murder.

Now as a mom myself, these kinds of stories hit me pretty hard. I actually get tears in my eyes for a child I didn't even know. It makes me wish I could be there to save each and every child out there from things like this. Recently, when asked by another myO member the question of who is the most evil person I could think of, whether it be real or fiction, my reply was any person who intentionally harms their own child. This community encountered a tragic story almost two years ago about two kids who had been taken from their home after the guy killed their family. Only the little girl was recovered alive. Her brother had been killed as well at some point during their captivity. And as tragic as that story was, I still think that a parent to harm their own child is even worse. Parents are supposed to be the ones to protect their children from harm, not give it. People like that are the lowest, most evil people on this planet.

So, I had this idea that I'd like to write a poem or maybe a short story of some kind for the little girl who died. I was also thinking an anime style drawing would be nice to go along with it. I'm wondering if there is anyone out there who would be willing to do this drawing for me. I can draw well enough, but I'm not as good at originals. I'd like this drawing to be drawn very well. So, let me know if you or someone you know would like to take on this little project. I'll also give more details of what I'm thinking as for the type of drawing, just PM me.

Anyway, I need to get my mind off of this depressing subject and get onto the Otakubowl. Here's the results from yesterday's match ups.

Anime Series Old Generation
Record of Lodoss War (3) vs Trigun (11)

Anime Series New Generation
Samurai 7 (6) vs Samurai Champloo (7)

Movie (based on anime or video game)
Akira (8) vs Princess Mononoke (6)

Manga
Bleach (9) vs Flame of Recca (1)

Video Game
The Legend of Zelda (7) vs Rouge Galaxy (1)

For a while there I thought Samurai 7 would take Champloo. It was ahead early on. But then the Jin, Mugen, and Fuu fans showed up. ^_^

Ok, here's today's match ups.

Anime Series Old Generation
Orphen vs Cowboy Bebop

Anime Series New Generation
Gungrave vs Eureka 7

Movie (based on anime or video game)
Fullmetal Alchemist: Conqueror of Shambala vs Vampire Hunter D

Manga
Saiyuki Reload vs Fullmetal Alchemist

Video Game
HALO vs Zone of the Enders: The 2nd Runner

Hmmm, so FMA is in two different categories today... interesting.

HALO is pretty big in my house. My hubby plays the PC game online constantly. And when we get four people playing it on XBox, my 8 year old son kicks everyone's butts. He's my little gamer. ^_^

Hope everyone has a good Wednesday.

Let the bodies hit the floor
Before I get to the results of yesterday's match ups. I have some exciting news. Well, for me that is. I found out the my good friends in the band Riled are going to be opening up for Drowning Pool and Seven Mary Three. If you don't know who Drowning Pool is, and if you've seen XXX (with Vin Diesel), they do the song Bodies. Yeah, it goes "Let the bodies hit the floor." Or they also did "Step Up" on the movie The Punisher (newer one with Thomas Jane). And Seven Mary Three were pretty big back in the late 90's with their hit song, "Cumbersome". I am so excited. I can't wait to catch these shows.

Ok, I'll get on to the results.

Anime Series Old Generation
Case Closed (6) vs Kimba the White Lion(2)

Anime Series New Generation
Elfen Lied (2) vs Shaman King (4)

Movie (based on anime or video game)
Howl's Moving Castle (4) vs Blood: The Last Vampire (3)

Manga
D. Gray-Man (4) vs Kill me Kiss me (1)

Video Game
Devil May Cry (2) vs Kingdom Hearts (4)

Nice try guys on DMC, but apparently it was not to be. Even my 8 year old son thought that DMC should've took it. o_O

So, those winners move on. And the losers, better luck next year.

Ok, here's today's match ups.

Anime Series Old Generation
Record of Lodoss War vs Trigun

Anime Series New Generation
Samurai 7 vs Samurai Champloo

Movie (based on anime or video game)
Akira vs Princess Mononoke

Manga
Bleach vs Flame of Recca

Video Game
The Legend of Zelda vs Rouge Galaxy

Ok, so last year's Grand Champion of this whole thing, Trigun, is competing tonight. Can it do it again?

Oh, and apparently I need to clarify something. The third category is for MOVIE. That is any movie that is based on an anime or video game. This would be any full length film that is from a anime or video game. This category IS NOT video games. The last, or 5th category is VIDEO GAME.

So, now that I got that taken care of. I'm done here. For those of you who missed yesterday's post, you missed a poem I wrote. I'm pretty proud of it, if I do say so myself. ^_^

Have a good Tuesday!

The time has come...
Yep, the Otakubowl begins now. But first, I must share something with you. I wrote a poem. I was feeling creative the other day, and I wanted to write a poem. I tried to think of a subject to write about, and all I could think of is my job. So, I decided to do a more humorous poem. So, here it is.

Also, I'm still working on the drawing. I'll let you know when I'm done and it's submitted.

I hope everyone had a good weekend. Mine was. I had friends over both Friday and Saturday night. Then on Sunday went to Riled's band practice. (Riled is the band that I'm good friends with.) They just started a new vocalist. He's a good singer. It's taking him sometime to get the lyrics down though. He has to have 5 or 6 of their songs down by this Friday. That's when their next show is.

Anyway, I'll get on with today's match ups for the Otakubowl.

Anime Series Old Generation
Case Closed vs Kimba the White Lion

Anime Series New Generation
Elfen Lied vs Shaman King

Movie (based on anime or video game)
Howl's Moving Castle vs Blood: The Last Vampire

Manga
D. Gray-Man vs Kill me Kiss me

Video Game
Devil May Cry vs Kingdom Hearts

And there you have them. I look forward to your votes.

Have a good Monday!

Don't you just hate sometimes trying to think of a subject title?
Uhhh, let's see. Thursday was nothing special. I went to work. The first house I cleaned is this huge house that is located up on a mountain. It has a beautiful view. (I'll have to take a pic of it sometime.) And getting up there wasn't too bad. It's usually pretty treacherous getting up there due to the road conditions. However, we have had some pretty nice weather the past few days.

Then the second house I cleaned is just an average house, nothing special. The people are always gone when I get there. So, I converse with the cat, and dog that probably doesn't hear a word I'm saying because it's got to be around 100 years old in dog years. (Not that it could understand me even if it could hear.) However, the cat seems to understand me. It's a six-toed cat that seems to like to "help" clean in the kitchen. It says, "meow" and I say, "meow", and of course it replies back with, "meow". This conversation goes on for sometime. Until I have to move it away from in front of the microwave so I can clean it.

Such an exciting life I lead. Actually there's more going on, but I'd have to go into way too much detail to explain everything else. I don't feel like writing a novel.

I started a drawing today. It's going to be purely graphite pencil like some of my older drawings. I seem to be better at those. I really wish I could get colored pencils that were like graphite pencils. I've mastered the technique of shading with graphite pencils. As for what the subject of my drawing is, well it's a character on my page here.

And before I end this post I must mention that I put the Otakubowl page in an iframe up above. Just scroll down through it for the first round match ups, which start next week. It also has all of the information and rules. So, if you don't know about it, feel free to read up on it.

Well, that's all for now. Take care.

Whew!

Wow! That was quite a party! (see yesterday's post) For those of you who missed it. I had a party here... yes, you heard me right. I changed my site with fireworks and bishies.

Ok, I'm still taking nominations for the Otakubowl.

I don't really have much to talk about. And since I'm kind of tired, I'm going to end this with a little something that I read. One of the most creative ways to describe falling asleep.

"The warm dusk that separates conciousness and sleep, where reality bends and sways to the wind of thought, and where creativity blossoms in its freedom from boundaries and all things are possible."

Quoted from Eldest
by Christopher Paolini

WOOHOO!!!
You'll have to excuse the complete disarray around here. There's a par-tay going on! At the urging of Kitsune Tsuki, I decided to put on some fireworks. And someone invited all of these HOT bishies over. *eyes Kitsune suspiciously* This is in celebration of my 3000 visits.

Sorry, but I'm going to wait another week for the Otakubowl. So, keep giving me your nominations... pleeease?

Anyway, I promised a pic of me with my new "do". However, I think I need to post a before and after. So, here's the before...

And here's the after...

Quite a difference, huh?

Oh! I almost forgot! If you have the time, check out my latest fan art. I submitted it on Sunday.

Faery

Hosted By theOtaku.com.

Well, I'm going back to the party. I think I heard someone mention something about strip limbo. This could get interesting.

Sheesh! Kitsune already has her pants off. (she has this thing about no pants)

Take care.

3000!
Yay! I hit 3000 visits!

This is going to be a very short post.

Nominations! I need 'em, please. If I don't have enough by Sunday night, I may have to put the Otakubowl off for another week.

I'm hoping to have a drawing submitted soon. It's a drawing I did earlier last year, but never finished coloring it.

Well, that's all for now. Take care.
