Ok, here's the situation with the OtakuBowl. For Anime Series New, I have all of the nominations I need. In fact, I have 17. So, I'm gonna have to eliminate one. I think the only fair way to do this would be to just take off the most recent one added to it after the point that I got 16. Which would be sand dragon 19's nomination of Gantz. Though, he nominated Gantz for manga as well, so I can keep it in that category.

Here's what I have so far. I listed the total number of nominations and how many more I need for each category.

I'm still hoping to get more nominations from anyone who has not nominated yet. I'd like to get the competitions going on Monday. So, if I don't have enough nominations in any categories on Sunday I'll ask for more from people who have already nominated. Or as a last resort, I'll just nominate some more myself. That will be a last resort, though. I'd prefer to get as many nominations from as many different people as possible.

So, to anyone who has not nominated yet, please nominate. However, please DO NOT nominate anymore in the category of Anime Series New. You can nominate up to five titles total.

-Anime Series Old
-Movie (anime or video game based)
-Manga
-Video Game

And if you are new, or haven't visited my site in a while, and are completely clueless as to what I'm talking about. Go to the Otakubowl image link up in the info box and click on it. I have all of the info and rules posted there.

Also, if anyone wants to promote the Otakubowl with an image link, and you know how to make links with images, feel free to use the image I have up top for it. For those who aren't quite sure how to do this, here's the code to use the image I have.

<a href="http://www.myotaku.com/users/caprice"><img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v469/Capricemarie/MyO/otakubowl01.jpg"></a>

Or, if you'd like it to be slightly smaller, then you can use this:

<a href="http://www.myotaku.com/users/caprice"><img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v469/Capricemarie/MyO/otakubowl01.jpg" width="200"></a>

Well, I think that's it for now. I'm gonna try to update again later this evening (Friday), which will most likely show as Saturday.

I hope everyone is having an excellent Friday. Take care.

Hey everyone! Sorry I haven't been updating regularly. I have been somewhat busy, and I've found myself wrapped up in the Winter Olympics. Oh, the drama! ^_^

So, I really don't have much to talk about. Though, I am still in need of nominations for the OtakuBowl. If you don't know what I'm talking about, go up to the Info box at the top and click on the image for it. The info for the OtakuBowl will come up in the box. Or for some browsers it will come up in a new window.

Anyway, I'm going to post the nominations I have so far. I have made a few of my own revisions based on some investigations I've done into various titles. The resource I use for my information can be found at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_anime. I have found this resource to be very useful considering it covers most anime, manga, and many video game titles. If there is anything I can't find on there, I just use Google to search for information. If anyone disagrees with what I have listed, or if anyone would like to change their listed nominations, let me know. I'll gladly make changes. For now I'm still hoping to get nominations from people who have not nominated yet. If I have a hard time filling any of the categories, I'll ask for more nominations from people who have already nominated.

And thanks a lot guys. I'd like to wrap up the nominations this week if possible and get the competitions going next week.

-Battle for Middle Earth (Night shade2)
-Inuyasha(First) (shadowkitsune98)
-Final Fantasy VII (RenoTheTurk)
-Super Mario Bros. (Somegirl)

------------------------------------------

Somegirl, if you read this, your original nominations were for characters. I just assigned the titles instead. If you aren't happy with those, let me know.

shadowkitsune98, you nominated .hack//SIGN under movie category, but as far as I know there is no .hack//SIGN movie. I'm not as familiar with this title, so I just went off of what I read. If I'm wrong, correct me and show me where I can find info on a movie.

Yensid, you nominated 6. I left out Kino's Journey. I apologize, but I am only asking for 5 at this time. And the reason I dropped that one is because it is less popular than the other titles and most likely would be voted out early on in the competition anyway.

Mamma Vash, you nominated Patlabor movies. There are 3 of them. I can only nominate one. If you have a preference for any one of them, let me know. I'd really appreciate it.

KitsuneTsuki, you haven't nominated any yet. Unless you slipped them in there somewhere and I missed it. o_O
Don't count on the Steelers winning this one. I have a very extensive, rigourous eye test for the referees in this thing. No bad calls will be tolerated! =P

RenoTheTurk, you nominated Final Fantasy VII: Last Order under the movie category. I had a tough time with this. At first I wasn't sure what to do with that nomination. Last Order is anime style, but it's not a series. And I didn't really consider it a movie because it only runs 25 minutes. It is one of those OVAs. Which got me wondering what do I do with OVAs? Well, I decided I'd handle them on a case by case situation. In this case, Last Order was released as an add-on to Advent Children. So, I put it with Advent Children. It doesn't really fit into any of these categories on it's own. Perhaps I should've included an OVA category as well. But I didn't so, I'm gonna leave it at that. I hope you understand.

This also brings me to the subject of OVAs. If anyone gives me a title that has OVAs, I will categorize those OVAs off of the title from which they are based. For example, Rurouni Kenshin (OVAs aka Samurai X), since I don't have an OVA category, those OVAs would be based on the series. Perhaps if I do this again next year, I may include an OVA category. But for now, there is no OVA category.

I also found myself wondering if some may have been confused by the movie category. I have it listed as Anime/Video Game Movie. Perhaps you missed the movie part at the end, thinking it to be an anime based on a video game, or a video game based on an anime. This is a movie category. Any movie based on an anime, such as Escaflowne, based on the series The Vision of Escaflowne. Or any movie based on a video game, such as Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children. Generally, a movie lasts atleast an hour. Otherwise, it would most likely be an OVA.

Well, I think I covered everything I wanted to.

Oh, I almost forgot! I submitted two new fan art yesterday. They are originals I did recently. They just started out as doodles, and turned out well enough to be submitted. So please take a look at them if you have the time, thanks!

Well, that's all for now. Have a great day all. Take care.

Well I got all of the info and rules, and such put up for the Otakubowl. Thank you to those who have given me nominations. I'm still in the process of getting more. I need 16 nominations for each category. Of course I believe I have exceeded that already in a couple of categories. Though, I will also consider more for those categories. The final 16 contenders for each category will be narrowed down to the most popular ones nominated. If at any time in the nominations process I need help deciding on a contender, I'll ask you. Also, I have not necessarily made your nominations official because I have had a few that may need to be revised. And in the nomination process there has been some confusion.

So, to clear things up. I am asking for nominations in the following categories:

-Anime Series Old (before 2000)

-Anime Series New (2000 to present)

-Anime/Video Game based movie (any movie that is based on an anime or video game)

-Manga

-Video Game

And could you please specify the categories for your nominations. This can get confusing at times if there is a title that is in more than one category. For example, Final Fantasy VII. Well, I would automatically assume you meant the video game, even though there is Advent Children the movie. If you want both, let me know. Be as specific as possible. If you aren't sure if a certain anime is old or new, let me know. I either will know, or can find out. And one more thing. Please only give me 5 nominations total. Not per category, but total. Atleast for now. Since I'm only having 16 contenders in each category, I'd like to have as many people as possible get their nominations in. If I am having a hard time getting the 16 nominations for a particular category, I'll let you guys know so I can get more. But for now, just give me no more than five nominations. Those five nominations can be a combination of any of the five categories. For example, my nominations are:

1. Trigun (anime series old generation)
2. Rurouni Kenshin (anime series old generation)
3. Gungrave (anime series new generation)
4. Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children (anime/video game movie)
5. The Legend of Dragoon (video game)

I hope this clears things up. So, if you already gave me nominations, and changed your mind about your previous ones, go ahead and give me new ones if you'd like. I will only record the most recent ones you give me.
And until I receive all of the nominations I need for each of the categories to compete, the competitions will not begin. I will announce when I have all of the contenders needed and the competitions begin with a list of all of the competitors. Also, I will announce the match ups for each day.
If there is anything I have left out, or unclear to you, between this post and the information I have above, let me know.

Other than getting this thing planned out, not much has been going on in my life. The temps here have dropped and it's been getting downright cold, and it's supposed to just keep getting colder. Anyone out there in a warmer climate want to trade places for awhile? ^_^

Oh, there is one more thing I've been wanting to mention. I ran across a really great artist here on otaku that I felt needs a mention. Her name is santoryumaster. If you enjoy looking at some great fan art, take a look at hers. Or if you like Zolo from One Piece, you already have one thing in common with her. ^_^

Well, that's all for now. Take care everyone.

I have returnered!
(Yes, I meant to spell it like that. A little funny I picked up from Fairly Oddparents.)

^_^

Sorry I haven't been around in the last week. I've had a lot going on. Oh, and I finally got my new theme to work. It does display just slightly differently in Netscape/Mozilla. But it still looks good and functions properly.

Hmmm, let's see... I am getting close to finishing the Yugioh drawing for my son. He's really excited. Then I will have two more drawings to do for my two older kids. I have been doing a little doodling on the side. Though, nothing near complete. I have different levels of drawings. Ones that are worthy of being submitted to my fan art. Ones that are finished, but not worthy of my fan art, or ones that are not appropriate for my fan art (i.e. non-anime). And then ones that are just doodles that will not end up anywhere, just chalked up as practice.

Anyway, up in the links at the top I have a link to Gallery. I have some of my fan art featured there. I will be featuring some of my wallpapers as well. And then I have a feature I got from Photobucket, it's FilmLoop. I put several of my drawings that are not in my fan art. So, if any of you are curious. Check it out. Thanks!

I have not forgotten or given up on the idea I had mentioned before. I decided to call it OtakuBowl. I haven't started it yet, I'm still in the process of planning it out. I'm hoping to have an announcement for it with the rules and such soon. Oh, and I decided to expand it to five categories:

Anime Series (old generation)
Anime Series (new generation)
Anime Movie
Manga
Video Games

So, for those of you who already gave me nominations, feel free to make some new nominations if you'd like to based on these categories. I'm still asking that you keep it at five nominations total. Any more than that, I will just ignore. And the five can be from just one category, two, or up to all five. If you have any questions or comments about it, just let me know. I already have some help on this, though I've been terrible at keeping my helper up to date on my ideas. Sorry about that. o_o
(Don't worry, I haven't really come up with too many new ideas.)

Well, I think that's about it for now. I hope everyone is doing well and your weekend is going good. Take care.

Hey! Sorry I haven't been around much in the past couple of days. I've had a lot going on.

I still have to give the final results of the Superbowl of Rock 'n Roll. I forgot to write down your votes, but I know there were atleast 4 votes, all for Disturbed. Here's the results from the radio:

Tool (189) vs Disturbed (247)

So, the Grand Champion of the 2006 Superbowl of Rock 'n Roll is Disturbed. Pretty good for a band they forgot to include in it last year.

Ok, I had a few people say they think the anime Superbowl thing would be cool. So, I'd like to do it. However, I think I need to put a little planning into it to make sure it goes smoothly. In the meantime, if you'd like to give me five nominations for your top five. I'll keep track of them and put up a list of all of the contenders at a later time. I think I might take nominations for a while to ensure I can get plenty of people giving me theirs. Plus, I'll make an official announcement of the whole thing with some guidelines. There has to be a few provisos, a couple of quid pro quos... ooops, got caught in a genie moment. (Aladdin) ^_^

Well, that's about all I have for now. However one more thing, for Superbowl Sunday...

GO SEAHAWKS!!!

Ok, take care everyone.

I'm a little late getting to sites. I usually get around to them about 8ish pm my time. But the two computers were being used. So, I will visit everyone once I finish posting.

I spent pretty much the whole day Thursday working on a new theme. This one is going to be really cool. Or atleast I think so. I just have to tweak it a little more to get it the way I want it. It's based on a theme I used once before, but a little different. That's all I'm gonna say about it for now.

Well, the Superbowl of Rock n' Roll is almost over. Friday morning is the final one. So, I'll give you the votes you gave to me. I think I should've mentioned that you could specify who you'd want to win between your pick of either Sevendust or Disturbed up against Mudvayne. Since I already knew it would be Mudvayne against one of those two. What I mean is I picked Disturbed over Sevendust in the first place, which would put them up against Mudvayne for my choice, and I still choose Disturbed. Uh-well, no matter.

Ok, here's your choices:

Sevendust (1) vs Disturbed (2)

Pantera (0) vs Tool (3)

Mudvayne (0) vs Disturbed (2)

I gave the two votes to Disturbed, assuming that would be the choices since no one said Mudvayne. I have to say, these are some really good ones. I'm glad to see such great bands making it this far. I actually love all of these bands a lot. So, in a way I won't be too disappointed with the win either way.

Here's the radio results:

Sevendust (84) vs Disturbed (196)

Pantera (154) vs Tool (156) Whew, that was a close one!

Mudvayne (90) vs Disturbed (165)

So, the final on Friday morning will be...

Tool vs Disturbed

I love 'em both, but I have to go with Disturbed. This is your last chance to vote for the one you like.

You know, this kind of gave me an idea. Getting others involved in this has been fun. But not everyone is into this kind of music. However, we all have one thing in common - anime. I was thinking this might be fun to have an anime Superbowl thing. Maybe I could have everyone nominate like five of their favorite anime and I'd write 'em down based on the most popular. I'm not sure if I should go up to the top 32, then have them battle it out. Or maybe just go with 16. What do you think? Should I do it? And if so, how many should I start with? Give me your feedback on this. I think it could be fun.

As for issues in my life. Well, I know I haven't been too clear on what's going on. Sorry about that. I will just say it's a financial issue. My family recently got our tax refund back. We had made some plans to eliminate some of our debt. And have a little bit for ourselves. Well, something unexpected came up. Actually, a couple of unexpected things came up. So, this makes it hard to do some of the things we had planned on. One of those being, I was going to plan a trip to Sakura Con this March in Seattle. But I won't be able to now. But we are talking about taking care of stuff this year, and perhaps we will be able to do more next year. So, I have set a goal that I want to go to Sakura Con next year. ^_^

Well, that's all for now. Take care everyone.

Well, I can't really say things have gotten any better. But atleast I got one big thing taken care of. Now I still have some other things to deal with. I guess I'll take it one day at a time and take care of it as best as I can.

It's often easier to get over the hard times in life by opening a few good e-mails. Well, I decided I'd share one that I received that I really like. And I'm sure one of my good friends here will just "love" it. XD

House In Heaven

Peyton Manning, after living a full life, died. When he got to Heaven, God was showing him around. They came to a modest little house with a faded Colts flag in the window.

"This house is yours for eternity, Peyton." said God. "This is very special; not everyone gets a house up here."

Peyton felt special, indeed, and walked up to his house. On his way up the porch, he noticed another house just around the corner. It was a 3 story mansion with a blue and white sidewalk, a 50 foot tall flag pole with an enormous Seahawks flag, and in every window a blue Towel.

Peyton looked at God and said, "God, I'm not trying to be
ungrateful, but I have a question. I was an all-pro quarterback, I hold many NFL records, and I even went to the Hall of Fame."

God said, "So what's your point Peyton?"

"Well, why does Matt Hasselbeck get a better house than me?"

God chuckled, and said, "Peyton, that's not Matt's house, it's
mine."
...GO HAWKS!!

And now, onto the Superbowl of Rock 'n Roll. It's getting very exciting now. It's down to five bands. The match ups on Wednesday determined who would be in Thursday's match ups, except for one. The match up Thursday morning will determine the other band in the 7 pm match up. So, I will have to give you the first two match ups, then once you've decided on who will win the first match up, that band will go up against the band that is already in that match up. (I hope that made sense)
Anyway, the second Thursday match up is the one that will determine the old school band that will go on to the final. And the third one will determine the new school band that will go to the final. But first off, I will give you the results of Wednesday's match ups.

Here's your votes:

AC/DC (3) vs Pantera (1)

Static X (0) vs Mudvayne (3)

Alice In Chains (0) vs Tool (3)

And here's the radio results:

AC/DC (133) vs Pantera (134)

Static X (137) vs Mudvayne (145)

Alice In Chains (72) vs Tool (191)

The AC/DC vs Pantera match up was a tie, so they took five more calls. Two for AC/DC, then two for Panera, so it came down to the last call, for Pantera. Now, I really do like Pantera. To be honest, I like all of the bands in this whole thing. I just like some better. And when a band gets the better of my band, I want to see them go down. So, I can only hope that Tool or Disturbed takes Pantera down. Plus, I like both of those bands better than Pantera. One of the things that gets to me is when people on the radio call in and say, "that band sucks, I want the other band to win." I mean come on, that is not a true rock fan to me. Like I said, I like all of these bands, so I would never call up and say Pantera sucks. *rolls eyes*

Ok, so here's Thursday's match ups:

Sevendust vs Disturbed
(The winner of this match up will go up against Mudvayne below)

Pantera vs Tool
(Winner will go to the final on Friday)

Mudvayne vs (whoever wins Sevendust vs Disturbed)

I will have the results Thursday night/Friday morning to let you know who's going on to the finals for Friday.

Well, I'm gonna end it here. I will hopefully have more to talk about on Friday. Take care.

Sorry I didn't get to sites. I had intended to, however something came up that has me pretty upset. So, I'm gonna keep this post short or I may say something that would probably hurt some people's feelings. And sorry I'm being so vague. But it's something my family is having to deal with, and I think it stinks royally. I have very strong feelings about this now, more than ever.

I will however give the results of Tuesday's Superbowl of Rock 'n Roll for those who are following it.

Here's your votes:

Megadeth (0) vs Alice In Chains (3)

Ozzy (0) vs Tool (3)

Disturbed (2) vs Korn (0)

And here's the radio's results:

Megadeth (150) vs Alice In Chains (151)

Ozzy (94) vs Tool (118)

Disturbed (164) vs Korn (89)

Here's Wednesday's match ups:

AC/DC vs Pantera

Static X vs Mudvayne

Alice In Chains vs Tool

I'm going with AC/DC, Mudvayne, and Tool.

Well, that's all. I will try to get to sites later on Wednesday if I can get some of this bullshit straightened out.

Take care. Catcha later...

I hope everyone had a good weekend. Mine was kind of good and just ok. Then Monday was, well... interesting. It kind of sucked actually. But that's another story, and I'm not gonna talk about it.

However, I will mention one thing that sucked about Monday. And that is what happened in the Superbowl of Rock 'n Roll.

Here's your results for Monday's match ups:

Chevelle (3) vs Static X (1)

Godsmack (3) vs Pantera (0)

Slipknot (1) vs Mudvayne(2)

And the radio results:

Chevelle (91) vs Static X (172) I can live with that.

Godsmack (144) vs Pantera (158) I cannot live with this one.

Slipknot (44) vs Mudvayne (206) YESSS!

Ok, in case I haven't told you, Godsmack is my favorite band. I absolutely love Godsmack and always will. I called in and voted twice on that one against Pantera. Dammit, people need to get over this Dimebag Darrell crap. I mean yeah, Pantera was a good band. And it's sad that he died. However, there are a lot of great musicians who have died. Is Ozzy getting the sympathy votes because Randy Rhodes died? Hell no! Ahem, sorry... I guess I got carried away there. Anway, this means Godsmack is out of it. I just hope that either Tool or Disturbed can go on and kick Pantera's ass! Speaking of, here's Tuesday's match ups.

Megadeth vs Alice In Chains

Ozzy vs Tool

Disturbed vs Korn

The first one is a bit tough, Megadeth has the harder stuff that I like, but I like more songs by Alice In Chains. I think I'm gonna go with the Seattle band, however. Next, as much as I like Ozzy, I have to say I have become a little bored with him. So, my choice is Tool. And last, DISTURBED! Sorry, I can't go with the boys from Bakersfield. As much as I like them, Disturbed is the best next to Godsmack.

So, what d'ya think? And if you are having a tough time deciding, just try to imagine which band you'd rather hear at this moment. ^_^

Yensid: Yes, you can use the Seahawks graphic I made. And no, I didn't use Flash. I have Flash, but I haven't had the time to learn how to use it yet. I make animations on Jasc Animation Shop. I'm not sure if Corel bought it out or not. Animation Shop came with Paint Shop Pro, which used to be Jasc, but it's now a Corel product.

Somegirl: The director couldn't kill Legolas because that is not how JRR Tolkien wrote it. However, it didn't stop them from changing the movies enough to make a lot of Tolkien fans pretty upset. Me?, I applaud the people who brought LOTR to the big screen even if it doesn't completely stay true to the book. I'm sure sales in Tolkien books rose considerably with the release of these movies.

Kitsune: I've said it before, and I never tire of saying it, "GO SEAHAWKS!" =P

devilsadvocate: Yeah, I'm pretty much the same. I'm still obsessed with LOTR, just on a different level than I used to be. And I haven't watched them in a while either.

Thanks to everyone for the comments on the pics. And here's more for your viewing pleasure.

New fan art! Actually they are pics I've had done for a while or ones that I just needed to make a few adjustmennts to. And a couple are some of my older ones that I drew almost 2 years ago when I first started drawing anime. The one of Yugi is my first anime drawing. I drew it for my youngest son, Tyler. Not to be confused with the one I'm working on for him right now. The one I'm working on now is going to be an 18x24 with Yugi, Kaiba, and Marik. Oh, and I submitted my version of Pegasus. I think he was the first anime guy that I thought was hot. Yes, I think anime characters are hot, so there, nyah! =P

Ummm, I have a bunch of funny pics I'd like to share with you. They are all based on Lord of the Rings. But I'm feeling kinda beat, and I just don't have the energy to add them all. I suppose I could just add a couple. Oh, and I used to be obsessed with Lord of the Rings before I discovered anime. Of course I still love LOTR, but not as much as I did then. That's why I have all of these funnies that I made. So, here's a couple of them.

I'll probably add the rest tomorrow. Then again, I may take Saturday off from here. So, look for them in my next post.

Superbowl of Rock 'n Roll time.

Here's the results of Friday's match ups. Your votes are:

Rob Zombie (5) vs AC/DC (3)

Sevendust (4) vs System of a Down (3)

Seether (3) vs Korn (4)

And the radio results are:

Rob Zombie (192) vs AC/DC (197) This one was exciting!

Sevendust (123) vs System of a Down (113)

Seether (42) vs Korn (168)

The first one had Zombie in the lead most of the way. Then AC/DC caught up and it was tied. So, they take five more calls to break it. The next five calls were all AC/DC.

Now, just like that one, these match ups are going to get a bit tougher. It's getting down to the better bands. Ultimately, I want Godsmack to take the whole thing. But they have a few hurdles to get over, especially on Monday. Here's the match ups for Monday.

Chevelle vs Static X

Godsmack vs Pantera

Slipknot vs Mudvayne

I'm going with Chevelle, Godsmack, and Mudvayne. I am also going to predict that Mudvayne will win on the radio because Slipknot cancelled their last concert here, so there are a lot of upset people. They won their last match up against Nickelback, but just barely. And Mudvayne is a pretty popular band around here.

Well, it's getting late and I'm getting tired. So, I'm outta here. Take care.

Oh, I almost forgot. You like the Seahawks graphic? I made that, especially for my good friend Kitsune. *evil grin*
