Sorry for not being around much. I've been rather busy and extremely tired lately. I see a lot of my friends have updated in the past couple of days. So, I have a lot of catching up to do.

Well, I finished my drawing. And like I said, it's not really appropriate for submitting here. So, I'll just put it in my post. However, I have also submitted it to my Deviant Art.

Ok, here's a cute little joke I got in an e-mail. I thought I'd post it here to share with you.

CAT DIARY

Day 983 of my captivity.

My captors continue to taunt me with bizarre little dangling objects.

They dine lavishly on fresh meat, while the other inmates and I are
fed hash or some sort of dry nuggets. Although I make my contempt
for the rations perfectly clear, I nevertheless must eat something in
order to keep up my strength. The only thing that keeps me going is
my dream of escape. In an attempt to disgust them, I once again
vomit on the carpet.

Today I decapitated a mouse and dropped its headless body at their
feet. I had hoped this would strike fear into their hearts, since it
clearly demonstrates what I am capable of. However, they merely
made condescending comments about what a "good little hunter"
I am. Jerks! There was some sort of assembly of their accomplices
tonight. I was placed in solitary confinement for the duration of the
event. However, I could hear the noises and smell the food. I
overheard that my confinement was due to the power of "allergies."
I must learn what this means, and how to use it to my advantage.

Today I was almost successful in an attempt to assassinate one of my
tormentors by weaving around his feet as he was walking. I must try
this again tomorrow -- but at the top of the stairs.

I am convinced that the other prisoners here are flunkies and snitches.

The dog receives special privileges. He is regularly released - and
seems to be more than willing to return. He is obviously retarded.
The bird has got to be an informant. I observe him communicate
with the guards regularly. I am certain that he reports my every
move. My captors have arranged protective custody for him in an
elevated cell, so he is safe.

For now...

Sorry, no Game of the Day today.

Have a good Thursday. ^_^

Guitar Hero

Yep, my house has been taken over by Guitar Hero. It's actually GH2. And we don't own it, we're borrowing it from a friend. Everybody has been playing it. I've even attempted it a couple of times. It is quite fun. The most serious players are my hubby and our friend, Josh. The other night they spent about three hours just trying to play one song. What song, you ask? Freebird by Lynard Skynard. The funny thing is when we go to Riled shows, we sometimes yell out, in between songs, "Freebird!" It's quite funny considering they don't play that kind of music.

I'm still working on the drawing. I have all of the line work done, and I've started coloring it. That's the main reason that I didn't update yesterday, I was working on it. When I start drawing something I find myself having a hard time putting it down. I even take it with me when I go to pick up my kids from school. I usually get there 10-15 minutes early. So, it gives me some time to do a little work on it.

Oh, and I had someone ask me what my deviantart member name was. Here's a link to it http://whimsicaldesire.deviantart.com/. I have some other art submitted there that I don't have on here. So, if you're interested, there it is. I will probably put a link to it on the left side of my page here for future reference. I'm just too lazy to do it right now. ^_^

Game of the Day

"Ask a question only" game. I start off by asking a question. Then you answer my question in the form of another question. For example:

Me: Do you understand?

You: What's there to understand?

However, since it's a lot more fun to keep it going. It works better if I post the first question, then the first person to comment asks a question from mine. Then the next person to comment asks a question based on the last person to comment (assuming they participated).

Ok, here's my question...

"How are you?"

Well, that's all for today. Have a great Friday the 13th. And if I don't update or visit over the weekend, have a good one. ^_^

Yes, I skipped an update yesterday. I did visit those who had visited me, though. I might not post everyday. But don't worry, I'm not going anywhere.

I'm feeling a bit irritated as I type this. I've come to realize certain things about updating and visiting around here. As I stated in my rules over to the left, I mostly only visit those who have commented. Well, here's the way I look at it. I started out with friends here. Some of them I still have as friends since my early days here. And some of these people haven't updated in a long time. I keep them on my list because at one time I had a good blog friend relationship with them. I still feel that way about those people. Essentially, if I get to know you well enough, then I consider you as a lifelong myO friend as well. But, I must first get to know you. Then, as time goes by more people sign the gb and I add them, or I find other interesting people. Now here's where it gets tricky. If someone signs my gb, then I sign in return. Whether I visit them first or they visit me first does not matter. It begins with a mutual visit. Once I have done my visit, my part is done. After that it is upon that person to visit me. Since I visit only those who comment (most of the time), I may never visit that person again if they do not come back and comment. Then I end up deleting that person. Ok, so let's say there's me, who normally doesn't update on the weekends, or occasionally skip weekdays. Then you have another person who doesn't update very often. (But not one of my good friends.) I visited the last time this person updated, and vice versa. I continue to update, and said person updates again. However, when said person updates I did not update. So, said person skips mine. Even though I visited said person's the last time they updated. So, when it's my turn to update, I skip said person's site because he/she did not visit mine. I'm not here to gain popularity or anything like that. I just want people to try and spend time and effort the way I do. Now, on occasion people update and don't have time to visit sites, or maybe just a few. Here's something to consider when you do this. If I have 10-15 people on my list whose sites I tend to visit quite often. And let's say on one day 15 people update, but I only get 7 of them visiting. That means 8 people didn't have the time to visit me. As if I have more time on my hands. I don't like to go on with rants like this, because I'm pretty much complaining about people who are on my friends list. But it gets a bit frustrating when I have more people not visiting than people who are, and I'm taking the time to visit them. So, that's why I go off of comments instead of who has updated. Occasionally, if I find myself with some extra time, I will visit those who have not commented. But that's where the vicious circle begins all over again. I visit them, and it's up to them to return the favor. I think it's time I put my foot down though, and let people know how I feel about it. If you don't like it, don't add me as a friend, or delete me off of your list. That will save me some time.

Ok, I'm done with my rant.

Now onto other, more happier subjects. I've started a new drawing. However, this drawing will not be submitted here. I will put it in one of my posts when I'm done, and I will submit it to my deviantart. The reason for this is because it's not anime or video game based, and it's kind of... well, not appropriate. It does contain nudity, sort of. But it's purely in a fantasy way. In fact, it's based on a scene from the book Eldest by Christopher Paolini, the same author of Eragon, it's the second book in the trilogy. Anyway, the scene depicts two elf-maids who are wearing no garments but have a dragon tattooed on both of their bodies that forms into one. It's a fantastical part of the book and I was highly captivated by it. So, this compelled me to try and depict it as best as I could. So far it's going quite nicely.

Game of the Day

Ok, I decided to put "The Last Word" game on hold for now. So, I'm introducing a new game. This one is called "In Ya Pants". This one is easy. Just give me a title of an anime or video game and add either "in ya pants" or "in your pants" after the title.

Here's an example,
"Bleach in ya pants"

Pretty simple, right? You betcha! Have at it! ^_^

Well, that's all for today. Have a good Wednesday.

Look!... a new theme! Normally I don't change my site this often. But I got to thinking about how all of my themes in the past were male-based themes. I decided I wanted to go with something a little more feminine. Nothing says that more than Faye Valentine. I was going to do a Major Kusanagi theme, but I couldn't find the right images for her. Perhaps my next theme will be the Major, if I can get my hands on some good images to use.

So, how was everyone's weekend? I hope your Easter was good. We did the traditional Easter egg hunt for the kids and tons of candy. Then we had a nice ham dinner. Mmmm... ^_^
The weather was gorgeous on Saturday. I did a little bit of yard work. Sunday wasn't as nice, it was cloudy most of the day and a bit breezy. Atleast it didn't rain, though.

I want to applaud CosmicSailor and magnifique for their excellent scenes for my game, "The Last Word". I really enjoyed reading those. Just so everyone knows, if you want to participate in that game, you don't have to type out scenes that are very long. It can be in just one simple sentence if you choose. But I must say, I absolutely loved reading those two mentioned scenes. They were very descriptive and highly imaginitive.

I have other games I'd like to try on here as well. But I think I'll stick with "The Last Word" game for a while. Again, here's how it works. I start off by saying "I have the Last Word". Then you describe a scene where you take the Last Word from me, or, if you choose, the person who commented before you (if they described a scene in their comment). And since the last time we played, I had the Last Word taken from me. So, I will start off by retrieving the Last Word from CosmicSailor.

***********

As I entered the room, I noticed the French doors were wide open. I frantically checked the table where I left IT. "Gone!" I whispered. I glared at the open doors. "That sneaky reptile. If he thinks he can get away that easily, he's got another thing coming." I said, as I stepped outside. Off in the distance I spied the thief running off into the trees. Quickly I grabbed my gun and ran off after him. The lizardman was fast, but I was faster. I was almost upon him when I stopped, took aim and fired. He stumbled to the ground. I ran up to him where he struggled. "You shot me!" He said. "Yes." I told him. "But don't worry, it's only a tranquilizer." As his body went limp under the effects of the sedative. I noticed his hand gripping something. I pried his fingers loose and finally retrieved what I had so desperately wanted... IT. I looked at him and said, "I don't envy you the headache you will have when you wake. Nor the pain you will feel from the tranquilizer dart. Sleep well, lizardman." As I strolled off.

And now, I have the LAST WORD! XD

Well, that's all for today's post. Have a good Monday.

Prior to writing this post, I was outside (it's only 9:40 PM my time, which is Pacific time) and there's my 8 year old son's bike, my 11 year old son's bike, and a 19 year old friend of ours, Josh's bike sitting right outside in front of our steps. I just thought that was kind of funny.

Anyway, my Thursday was horrible. I've discovered that most of my co-workers have the same opinion that I do about our boss. He's manipulative. I'm having serious doubts about how much longer I'm going to work for the guy. Ok, I'm going to say that I'm not a religious person. I just don't believe in any higher being or anything like that. However, my boss is very religious. I have nothing against anyone who is. A lot of my family is religious. Anyway, I would think that someone with such high morals (not that I don't have them), but someone who is so righteous should not behave the way this man does. Don't get me wrong, there is no misconduct in the sense that he is harassing anyone or anything like that. It's just that when I first started working for the guy he told me one thing, then he turns around and does something else. He has said that he plans on hiring more employees and getting out of the actual cleaning himself so he can spend his time finding more accounts. Well, he has gotten to the point now where he doesn't really help us out at all anymore. He just chats with the clients while we work our butts off. Or he just leaves to go do something else. It's really frustrating. I don't know if he just takes us for a bunch of idiots and figures he can get away with this, or what. But I'm getting really tired of it. I am normally a pretty open-minded person who tries to see things on different levels. I've tried to view it from his point of view. But all I can figure is that he doesn't give us enough credit for having as much intellect as we do. I guess maybe he figures that since we are women in our 30s-40s working for him, cleaning homes, we weren't smart enough to go out and get a better job. However, it is he, a 50 something year old guy, who can't seem to remember something you told him the day before.

I am so glad that the weekend is just about here. And actually today is going to be a decent day because it's the only house that I actually enjoy cleaning. I don't work with the boss, I work alone. And the clients are the coolest people. I love these Fridays (every other Friday).

I'm also having mixed emotions about my kids and their spring break. In a way I've enjoyed it because I haven't had to get my three youngest ones up in the morning and help get them ready for school. I've just had to worry about getting myself ready for work. However, since my kids have been home all week they have been at each others' throats... constant bickering. "Mah-ahm, he did this!" "Maah-aahm, she did that!" Makes a woman want to run screaming, pulling out her hair!

But then I settle down in front of the computer each night and visit my friends here on myO, and post. So, you guys end up reading all about my frustrations. Or sometimes, like the other day, I just don't feel like venting, so I have a very short post. Well, I finally vented all of this built up frustration over the week.

I apologize for this really long post that is a lot of complaining. I promise not to do this very often. I'm actually feeling a lot better now that I got it off of my chest. *deep sigh*

Ok, so I mentioned that I was going to add some more stuff to my posts. Well, here is something that I thought might be fun. Participate if you want to, if not, that's cool too. This game is called, The Last Word. I will start off by saying I have the Last Word. Then you describe a scene where you take the Last Word from me, or the person who commented before you, whichever you choose. There are no winners in this game, it's just fun with making up a scene by taking something that doesn't even exist. So, it begins here...

I have The Last Word...

And I hope everyone has a good Friday. I'm not sure if I'll post over the weekend. But I will most likely stop in and check PMs and such.

Take care.

All good things must come to an and
The Otakubowl has finally come to a close. It was a rather close finish. In fact, by one vote.

And now, I present the winner.

The final votes were Rurouni Kenshin (6) vs Samurai Champloo (5).

Congrats to Rurouni Kenshin! This should serve as a hint to Cartoon Network that this is one anime that should be shown to its entirety. Before I had seen it, I had wanted to see it something fierce. Then I heard that CN was going to be airing it. Soon afterward, they did, but only part of the way through the series. They left me hanging. I was very disappointed.

Anyway, here's some credits that I feel should be mentioned.

First off, I owe the title of "The Ultimate Clash between Old and New" to CosmicSailor.

Next, I'd like to give mention to those who had the highest attendance through the whole event.

#1. (tied)
Knight Edge
lordsesshomaru

#2. (tied)
CosmicSailor
BurningDeamon

#3.
bunraku

#4.
KitsuneTsuki

#5.
Wolf of Darkstar
And I feel this one deserves a special mention because he is one of my oldest, dearest friends here on myO, and he is currently serving in Iraq. I was lucky enough to have the Otakubowl going on during his mid-tour leave. If you get a chance to read this WoD, I'm glad you could be here. I miss you!

Unfortunately, I only list the top five, which resulted in 7 because of ties. However, thank you so much to everyone who participated in this. Even to those who only showed up once and voted, I still appreciate it.

This concludes the 2007 Otakubowl. Until next year.

Wednesday was kind of a weird day for me. I worked, then came home. I relaxed for a while. Then went shopping with my five year old daughter, Amber. We bought a lot of goodies. One of those being jelly beans. Okay, just so you know now, I'm a huge fan of black licorice. And to my good fortune, the bag of jelly beans is loaded with the black ones. But I discovered the light brown ones are some sort of coffee flavored ones. Which is another one of my weaknesses.

Anyway, on to other subjects. I love music. Normally, I'm a hardcore metalhead. I love my hard rock and metal music. But for some reason I started flashing back to the mid to late 90s. Does anyone remember the band Better Than Ezra? Yeah, I was listening to them. And Collective Soul. Oh, and I'm not really into The Cranberries, but their song "Zombie" I just absolutely love, so I've been listening to that one. Then I started listening to songs from The Crow sountrack. Actually, as I type this I'm listening to those songs.

And finally, be looking forward to some changes to my site, or mainly my posts. Now that the Otakubowl is done, I've been looking for things to add here. So, some new stuff will be coming this way soon. That reminds me of the title of a movie "Something Wicked This Way Comes". o_O
Good movie, by the way.

Ok, well I think this wraps up my post. Have a good Thursday.

I think mother nature is going thru menopause
Well, we didn't get any snow on Tuesday. In fact, it was quite sunny and warm. Yes, I'm really confused by this weather. o_O

I apologize, but this post is going to be rather short. I'm getting this posted a little late, and I'm really tired. So, I think I'll be heading off to bed after this.

However, I wanted to mention that the final match up of the Otakubowl is still on. Today's the last day to vote on it. If you haven't voted on this match up yet, go right ahead. ^_^

Ultimate Clash between Old & New

That's all folks! Take care. ^_^

I hate the snow...
Oh, the weather outside is frightful.
And I'm beginning to feel very spiteful.
And since there's many places to go.
I hate the snow, I hate the snow, I hate the snow.

Yes, we got snow Monday. There's no accumulation, but it hailed for a while, then some really wet snow, then the white stuff started falling. And it was toward late afternoon/early evening. So, once the sun went down and the clouds rolled away, it is frozen outside. A friend of ours found out the hard way by using his rear-end to go down the last 4 of our front steps.

I mean this is ridiculous, it's spring break! I can see it now, the teacher asks them, "What did you do on your spring break?"

"Well, first we went sledding, then we built snow forts for our snow ball fights, and last but not least, we made not one snow man, but a whole family!" o_O

Okay, I'm overexaggerating a bit. But it just seems sad that we are getting this kind of weather. I was sick of this weather back in January. And I know what's going to happen... it's going to stay in the lower temps up until May, then... BOOM!... we'll get hit with record high temps. No happy medium this year.

Ok, I'm done with my ranting about the weather.

Well, I had a friend ask me for a favor. The singer for Riled asked me if I could help him with his MySpace page. So, I made him a wallpaper for it. Here it is.

Click on the image to view full size.

And finally, I'm still taking votes on the final match up of the Otakubowl. If you haven't voted on this one yet, please do so, thanks!

Ultimate Clash between Old & New
Rurouni Kenshin vs Samurai Champloo

I will have this one running until Wednesday. After that I'm going to give a few mentions of people who participated.

Well, that's all for today. Have a good Tuesday.

I feel like the last time I posted was last month...
...that's right, it was last month that I posted last. ^_^

Did everyone have a good April Fools? Mine went without any pranks except here on theO. OMG! I can't believe what Adam did on there. It was a pretty good one.

I had a pretty easy, laid back weekend. On Saturday, I watched anime, then more anime, then more...

I started off with Cowboy Bebop, then some Gungrave, then I watched several episodes of Trigun and Rurouni Kenshin. It felt good too. I haven't been watching much anime lately, so it was nice to do it once again.
I read something earlier today that said Cartoon Network is going to have Cowboy Bebop back on in May. It's not really that big of news to those who have seen it many times on Cartoon Network. But for those who maybe haven't seen it yet, or just really love it (I know one or two) it's good news.

I watched the race Sunday. It was in Martinsville, Virginia. Dale Earnhardt Jr. led over 100 laps and he finished 5th. So, it was a pretty good race.

Anyway, I'm gonna get on to the results of the final match ups of the Otakubowl.

Anime Series Old Generation
Rurouni Kenshin(6) vs Gundam Wing (3)

Anime Series New Generation
Samurai Champloo (7) vs Naruto (3)

Movie (based on anime or video game)
Akira (5) vs Spirited Away (4)

Manga
Bleach (7) vs Naruto (1)

Video Game
Soul Calibur (3) vs Final Fantasy 8 (5)

So, there's the winners for each of the 5 categories. Now all that's left is the Ultimate Clash between Old & New. This is a match up between the winner of the Anime Series Old Generation and the winner of the Anime Series New Generation. I will be running this same match up from Monday through Wednesday, posting the results on Thursday. However, I can only take one vote per person for the match up. I just run it for 3 days to get the maximum votes on it. After all, this is a big match up. ^_^
Here's the competitors.

Ultimate Clash between Old & New
Rurouni Kenshin vs Samurai Champloo

And there you have it. I'm outta here.
Have a good Monday, I know I will, I don't have to work. ^_^

*wanders off doing a happy dance*

Yes, I'm a natural blue
Eh, my day was pretty uneventful. So, I think I'll just get straight to the Otakubowl. Here's the results from Thursday's match ups, which were the last of the semi-finals.

Note: I had last minute votes put in. So, I had to change the original posted results. They pretty much stayed the same, except one. The old went from Gundam Wing (5) vs Yu Yu Hakusho (4). But that one more vote for YYH tied it. I tossed a coin for it, and it landed on Gundam Wing. So, the results still stay the same, just different vote count.

Anime Series Old Generation
Gundam Wing (5) vs Yu Yu Hakusho (5) (tie broke with coin toss for Gundam Wing)

Anime Series New Generation
Witch Hunter Robin (3) vs Naruto (8)

Movie (based on anime or video game)
Spirited Away (8) vs Final Fantasy 7: Advent Children (3)

Manga
Naruto (8) vs D.N.Angel (2)

Video Game
Super Mario (3) vs Final Fantasy 8 (7)

So, now we move on to the Finals for all of the categories. I will post the results on Monday, and that's when the Ultimate Clash between Old and New will be held. Also, that one will be held for 3 full days (Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday). The reason I have it for that many days is so I can get the most amount of votes possible. For those who don't make it around here everyday. ^_^
Here's the final match ups.

Anime Series Old Generation
Rurouni Kenshin vs Gundam Wing

Anime Series New Generation
Samurai Champloo vs Naruto

Movie (based on anime or video game)
Akira vs Spirited Away

Manga
Bleach vs Naruto

Video Game
Soul Calibur vs Final Fantasy 8

Happy voting! ^_^

Have a happy Friday.
