   Attention Starving Artists
I ran across a site that has a Starving Artist Contest. The prize is one month of your rent paid. This is no joke! I joined the community, though I already have so many profiles/blogs occupying my time on the internet, so I don't plan to frequent this one. I thought I'd mention this contest to anyone who might be interested. The site is moli.com. Best of luck to anyone who enters.

Take care.

Come out, come out, wherever you are!
This is basically a post letting people know that I'm going to continue blogging here. I'll try to update more frequently than I have in the past. However, I make no promises that I won't relapse into a 2-3 month hiatus. I'm not quite sure why I do that, but I just do. However, I always find myself wandering back here. Now, my last post mentioned 2 online communities I would be frequenting. Well, I'm still gonna be around those as well because I've had them for a while and I don't intend to let them go. BTW, I'm referring to MSN Spaces, aka Windows Live Spaces and MySpace. I think I'll just put links to my other communities in my profile along with my dA as well. I came to the decision to continue blogging here because I've met my best online friends here in this community and some have drifted away, and I continue to hope that they will return. I do however have a few good friends who continue to blog here and because of those few and the ones I'm hoping will return, I decided to stay. Also, I can't expect everyone to follow me to these other communities.

I will not blog on the Worlds I have created on Version Vibrant, except one, which will have my poems. I think there are some very nice features with VV. However I do not care for the blog system there.

I will continue to submit fan art, and an occasional wallpaper on theO, but that will be the extent to my activity on that side of things. My blogging will go here. I just have to hope that things will be made a little better here, and that we won't be completely deleted from the server's hard drive. (I doubt Adam would be that cold-hearted.)

Anyway, I recently finished watching Samurai 7. Remember last year when I said that I had started watching it? Well, I finally got around to continuing. I must say, I am quite impressed with the anime. It's now in my top 5 faves. Of course when I'm impressed with an anime or video game I feel compelled to draw something from it. So I spent all night Friday drawing Shimada Kambei from Samurai 7. Yep, he's the one I mentioned in an earlier post with the long hair, bedroom eyes, and just overall hotness. I submitted the drawing on theO, so if you wanna have a look it's in my portfolio.

I have been feeling a bit more creative lately. I've been wanting to draw or write something. So, be expecting more submissions.

Now I would like to address the subject line of this post. This is a call out to all myO members who have been MIA. Please comeback! I understand people have busy lives and can't update as much. But surely everyone can devote an hour or two once a week. If I could have most of my good friends here updating once a week I'd be happy. So, if you are one of those who has not updated in over a month, and reading this... PLEASE update.

Well, I'm gonna end this post with a wish for many more great memories to come here on myO.

Take care.

Moving on
This is pretty much the same update as the one I posted on my Caprice's World over on theOtaku's Worlds. So, if you read that one, no need to read this one.

Well, I have decided that I am not going to continue blogging here. I may drop in every once in a while. Of course, I wasn't exactly coming around regularly anyway. So, nothing's really going to change. I have recently been wanting to get back into blogging and visiting with my old friends from MyO. However, most of my friends are no longer updating here or on Worlds.

I have 2 places that I will devote my time to. First is MySpace. I don't blog there, I just pretty much keep tabs on a lot of my favorite bands and leave occasional comments to friends. The URL for my MySpace is http://www.myspace.com/whimsicaldesire.

And the second is where I'm going to be blogging. I'm hoping to try to update there atleast once a week. However, I can't guarantee that I will update that often. Perhaps I may slip back into coming around every couple of months or so. But for now I will most likely update there regularly. The blog is on Windows Live Spaces, which used to be known as MSN Spaces. I went with that for my blog because I've had that one for quite sometime, though it's been dead for over a year. Also, I like the customizations there. I can add a lot of the content I want and upload pics. I can pretty much do the same things with MySpace, however I am not comfortable blogging on MySpace. The URL for my Windows Live Space is
http://caprices-space.spaces.live.com/.

Also, if my updates do decline on my blog at Live Spaces that doesn't mean I'm completely MIA. I visit MySpace pretty much everyday to check for messages and comments and read any interesting bulletins.

So, I hope to see my good friends on one, or both of the two online communities I will be frequenting. Take care.

Worlds away
I just wanted to post letting people know that I now have a world. Hmmm... for some reason that just doesn't sound right. Of course I'm referring to the new blog system on theOtaku.com. Anyway, I'm still the same person with the same name. Also, this does not mean that I'm going to be around anymore often than I was before. I was just curious about the new features on Version Vibrant, and figured I had better secure my URL for my world before someone else does. Because I'm sure there are hundreds of other Caprices on theOtaku wanting that same one. O_o
The funny thing is that whenever I sign up for an account on the internet, the name Caprice has already been taken. I figure it's by people of three different categories:
1. they have the name just like me.
2. they don't have the name but think it's a pretty cool name.
3. most likely an owner/lover of Chevy Caprices.

Anyway, I've always been pretty lucky around here to not have to compete with others for my own name.

Well, I'm gonna end this post. Until next time.

Take care.

   I apologize
In my last post I was asking for nominations for the Otakubowl. A few of you gave me some, and I want to thank you so much for those. However, I have decided I am not going to hold the Otakubowl this year. I can't say if I will have it next year, or ever again. I did enjoy doing it in years past. But I just don't have the time to dedicate to it.

If you enjoyed participating in the Otakubowl perhaps I can interest you in participating in a similar competition held by lordsesshomaru (just click on his name in my friends list). I believe he holds his in March, and it is characters rather than titles. Also, his is much more entertaining than mine ever was. He has quite a knack for humorous commentating on the matches.

Again, thanks for the nominations and I am sorry that there will be no Otakubowl this year.

With that said, I'm going to end this post. Sorry it's such a short one but I'm really tired.

Take care all of myO friends.

Get Ready!
Ok, so I think February would work better to hold the Otakubowl. And that means that I will start taking nominations now. I noticed that there aren't as many people updating on myO these days. So, I might need as many nominations as possible from those few who do visit. However, for now it's best if you give me no more than one nomination per category for now. I'll let you know later if I'm in need of more.

Here's the categories:

-Anime Series Old (original release prior to 2000)

-Anime Series New (original release since 2000)

-Manga

-Movie (based on an anime or video game)

-Video Game

In other news, the video game mishap I had mentioned was with my new Guitar Hero 3 game. It was a Christmas present for the whole family with 2 wireless guitar controllers. Well, my 12 year old son Casey was playing it and my 6 year old daughter Amber just had to have her blanket, which was laying over the cord to the game. The PS2 fell to the floor, which scratched the game pretty bad. Also, I found out the wireless guitars aren't all they were cracked up to be. If someone forgets to turn them off when they are done playing them, the batteries run down. And of course these don't have the option of plugging them into the PS2. So, dead batteries means you buy more batteries or don't use the wireless guitar. Or, in extreme circumstances when you really want to play the game and the wireless guitar's batteries are dead, you smash the guitar like the real guitarists do. (No, that has not happened in my home, tempting though.)

Also, I mentioned something about Lego Star Wars. Well, my 9 year old son Tyler got the game for Christmas. He's a total Yu-Gi-Oh! freak, but has found an interest in Star Wars recently due to playing Star Wars Battlefront (and at mom's urging of watching the movies). Anyway, as Lordsesshomaru put it, the game is funny to begin with. So, on top of that you add cheats. My son likes to look for cheats on the internet for his video games. So, he discovered how to give his Jedis brooms instead of lightsabers, or if you prefer, teacups. You can also give everyone mustaches... yes, even the girls. Ok, so there are a couple of characters who don't get mustaches. Darth Maul being one of them, which really disappoints me, Darth Maul is my favorite Star Wars villain, though just a little more than Darth Vader.

In more serious news. My 16 year old daughter Tawny's boyfriend broke up with her after being together for about a year and a half. This is a hard thing for me to deal with as well. She has never had a serious boyfriend like this before. And I've been through it before, so I know exactly what she is going through. I just try to help her as best as I can, and be there for her.

Also, back in November my mom ended up in the hospital. She has emphysema and has to be on oxygen the rest of her life. She's fine... ok, I think she's fine. It's kind of a long story, but when she was in the hospital my sister and I drove down to see her. I live in Northern Idaho, my sister is about a 2 hour drive south of me, and my mom is another 4 hour drive from where my sister lives. Anyway, she got out of the hospital and into a care facility before we left. She was going to be in the care facility for a few weeks, then getting out. Her and my step-dad were going to be moving. So, I kept in touch with her while she was in the care facility. But when she got out, I haven't heard from her at all. She sent a Christmas card and some gifts, but said that I could write to her at her post office box. No phone number to get a hold of her at. As I said before it's a long story, and there's more to it that I'm not saying. So, I'm sure this leaves you with a few questions. But I can't really explain it, nor do I want to. Also, she hasn't had her internet since this all happened so she wanted me to contact some of her old friends and let them know how she's doing. Well, in the past week or so I've gotten new emails from them wondering how she's doing. I hate to write them back saying, "I don't know how my mom is doing." I'm more pissed off than worried, though. My mom does things like this. It just annoys me that she doesn't keep me informed. When she was in the care facility I told her I was going to call her every Sunday. I haven't talked to her on the phone since early December.

Ok, that's enough rambling about my mother. I can't really think of anything of utmost importance to talk about at this time. And I'm getting pretty tired. So, I think I'll end it here.

Take care.

   Hello again!
Well, I'm finally updating again. Unfortunately, it's going to be kind of short. I attempted a longer post already, but my finger hit the wrong key while typing and I lost that post. Don't worry, it was just rambling about video game mishaps, and something a bit humorous about the video game Lego Star Wars.

Anyway, the main reason I am updating is because I am reminded of the Otakubowl. (If you don't know what that is I'll explain at a later time.) I came up with the Otakubowl as a result of listening to my local rock radio station which holds the "Superbowl of Rock n' Roll" each year at this time. It inspired me to do something similar but with anime, manga and video games. I normally hold it in March because when I first came up with the idea, it took me about a month or so to organize it. However, I am considering having it in February this year. One of the reasons for my decision is because I seem to recall in the past couple of years of doing it, some people would end up being in the midst of mid-terms, or it would run into spring break for some. So I'm hoping February might work better. Also, work has been kind of slow for me and it could pick up more by March. So, I think I have the time to update every weekday.

There's one more thing that has me concerned. I don't know all of the details of Version Vibrant, but I've read a little bit. It seems the whole blog world here is going to be changing. If I understand it correctly, there will be a new blog system. And though myO will remain, there will not be any new people allowed to join myO. Instead newcomers will be a part of the new blog system. (If I'm wrong about any of these details, please let me know.) Also, current myO people may spend more time on the new blog system and not on good ol' myO. Perhaps the new blog will be better, then again maybe not. I have to admit I am a bit curious.

In conclusion, I thought I'd ask everyone else what they think about the Otakubowl being moved to February. If I do hold it in February, I'll have to start taking nominations soon. But not yet!

Well, that's all for now.

Take care.

Yep, I'm finally updating again. I've popped in on occasion since my last update to see how people are doing. I often think about my friends here. Especially recently, I've thought of those who live in southern California. I hope all is well with you.

I came to realize that the problem with being gone for so long is that I end up with so many things I want to say. But yet I don't have the time to type out everything. That's the main reason I don't get around here as often... not enough time.

However, I will say that I am doing quite well. I finally have a job that I am extremely happy with. I've never felt this way about a job in my life. I sometimes think it's too good to be true. It's not the perfect job, but it's the best job for me at this point in my life. Unfortunately, it is not doing what I love doing most, which is Web/Graphic Design. I am doing cleaning, which is what I'm really good at. This isn't just any cleaning job, though. I'm only cleaning houses that are vacant, also called move-outs. This is my favorite type of cleaning because there is no one there. I just turn on the tunes and go to work. It's a bit more detailed, and tends to be harder work, but that's what I prefer to do. And the work I do is as a sub-contractor. So, I'm not actually employed by anyone, I'm self-employed. I'm in the process of building it into a business and taking on new clients.

As for Web/Graphics, I'm currently being self-taught in some of those areas. It's more a hobby now. Like I dont' already have enough hobbies. But hey, I think having a lot of hobbies makes a person more interesting... or perhaps just more confusing. Either way, I'm pretty sure I'm not a very dull person.

My kids are running me ragged with the mounds of school papers they bring home each day. The funny thing is that my work day is actually more of a break than home. It's pretty quiet at work (except the music). So when I pick up the kids from school the chaos begins. Sometimes I want to run, pulling my hair, screaming, "let me go back to work!" :D

I have not watched any anime in too long. Video games are almost nonexistent in my life (which is bad.) Although, every once in a while I go to gametap.com and play one of my favorite games. I had been reunited with one of my all-time favorite arcade games, Black Tiger. When I was around 17 years old I played this game constantly. No, I didn't fork out hundreds of dollars in quarters playing an arcade game. One of my first jobs was janitorial with my mom at a bowling alley, which also had an arcade. And of course we knew the owners quite well. So, I had access to the key to the games. Now, you are probably thinking I must have been shirking my duties if I was playing games. Well, we were salary paid instead of hourly rate. We pretty much had all night to clean it, and it would normally take 4-5 hours to clean. So, I had plenty of time to play my game. I finished the game numerous times. In the process competing with someone with the initials of ACE. Anyway, I discovered Black Tiger on gametap.com for a limited trial period. Well, when my trial ran out, I signed up for an account. So, I can play it whenever I want. Though, that hasn't been too frequently lately.

Well, I think I've rambled enough. I could go on for hours, but I'm fading fast. I need to get to bed. I might not get to visit everyone who visits in the next couple of days. However, I promise I will visit soon. I miss all of myO friends. And I hope everyone is safe and doing well, wherever you live.

Take care.

So, it's been over two months since my last update. I'm sorry for being gone for so long. I don't think I'll be getting back into a daily routine again like before. But I'll atleast try to update every week or so. Also, I may not be able to get to too many sites right away. But I'll try to in the next day or two.

So, just to mention a few things that have happened since my last post. I had said that I was going to see Seven Mary Three in concert. It was a pretty good show. I'm not a huge fan of theirs. Then there was the Drowning Pool show. And yes, they are still together. This is their third singer. And he's quite the singer. He can really nail the old songs like the original guy. Anyway, the show was the best I've ever seen. I rocked out big time at that one. Then after the show we got autographs and I got to kiss the singer on the cheek. Woohoo! They are a bunch of really awesome guys. I hope to see them again. The next show was Adema. It was a good show. They are pretty cool guys as well. Then the day after the show, Sunday June 17th, I got a new tattoo. I'll post pics of it at the end of this post. Then on Friday night I saw Great White. If you don't know who they are, they were a very popular 80's rock band. I was a huge fan back then. I even saw them in concert in '88 or '89. However, the show wasn't what I had expected. And they didn't even hang around to sign autographs. This coming Friday is going to be another show with three 80's bands. Bullet Boys, Britney Fox, and Enuff Z Nuff. I was a big fan of Bullet Boys, and saw them as well back in the day. So, it will be interesting to see them again.

Now about the tattoo. It is a scorpion that I designed. Some of you may remember me mentioning it a while back. I've had a lot of comments on it. I take it as a great compliment. Plus, the tattoo artist, Spider, did an awesome job on it. So, I will waste no more time and show it to you. And I hope all of my friends are well. I'm anxious to visit and see what everyone has been up to.

Yep, it wraps around my leg. So, I had to take it in three pics. And yes, it hurt!

Well, take care.

Clean Slate

Yes, that is my substitute for my subject. Due to my "nifty" theme here, I can't actually put anything in the subject area. The drawbacks to trying to be a creative webperson. o_O

Anyway, as I said, "clean slate". A short while back I mentioned about people visiting. Well, since I have been absent quite often lately, I decided to visit everyone who had updated since my last post (whether they visited me or not). So, this is one of those moments where I feel I have done my part. Now it's up to those people to visit me the next time they update. It may be a week from now, a month from now, or even a year from now. They just need to visit me when they update next. Oh, and as for a year from now. Sorry, but there are only a few select people who can go a year without posting and remain on my list. You should know who you are. And I feel really weird saying such things. Like I am the "high and mighty" Caprice of myO, and people are beating down my door to be my friend. Psssh, I wish...

Seriously... I just have to set certain standards so I don't waste time visiting those who are not going to do the same.

I had questions about my drawing that I posted yesterday. The characters names are Neya and Iduna. They are elf-maid twins, also called "The Caretakers" from the book Eldest by Christopher Paolini. It is the second book in the Inheritance Trilogy. The first one being Eragon. The same one that was poorly made into a movie. Ok, I better stop before I go into a tirade about how I felt about the movie again.

Ok, now onto the anime front. My current interest is Samurai 7. I have watched the first 7 episodes. Yes, I spent most of my day, Thursday, watching those 7 episodes. And after this post, I will most likely watch a couple more before going to bed.

One of the things that catches my attention with anime first is, a good story or good animation. One of the second things is an interesting character. Ok, I'll admit it... a hot guy. Yep, the perv in me comes out. Well, I was immediately like... "Hello! Who's the hot guy with the bedroom eyes, long flowing hair, and goatee?" I have discovered Kambei Shimada. If you don't know who I'm referring to, do a Google search for that name... you'll see. I must admit, he's not the young, new kid on the block. In fact, my hubby said, "He looks kind of old." I think he's jealous. ^_^

Ok, enough about that subject. I am looking forward to seeing more Kam... I mean, episodes. *shifty eyes*

Game of the Day

Last we left off on The Last Word, redmoonchick took it from me by jumping from a tree, knocking me down, and sticking me with a needle. I hope you didn't stick anyone else with that thing, by the way. And thank you very little for hitting me with my "tranq" gun. Ouch, that hurt.

So, I inspect my surroundings and find some footprints. I follow them. Dammit, she has a good 6 hour lead on me. But I'll catch her. As swift as the wind, I take off after my prey. Within a couple of hours, I find that the tracks lead me to a house. I peer inside the window to find a girl rambling on the phone to some unnamed person. *looks at watch* "Sheesh, it's kind of late to be having a phone conversation." I see on the table the item I am in search of... IT. I quietly try the door... it's locked. I pull out my handy little skeleton key, and hear a small "click". I open the door, slowly creep to the room. I wait until her back is turned, and then snatch IT. She quickly whirls around to find me smirking at her, as I say...

I have THE LAST WORD!

Note: To play this game, you simply describe a scene where you take the last word from me, or the last person to participate in a comment. Your scene does not have to be long, it can be in one sentence, or a couple of paragraphs. The point is to have fun. So, let the game resume.

Well, this ends my post for Friday. I'm going to a rock show tonight with my friends from Riled as one of the opening bands, and the headlining band is Seven Mary Three. I'm really excited about it. I hope everyone has a good Friday, and a great weekend. Take care.
