The advent of cool weather!
It is so wonderful to have weather in the nineties instead of the 3 digits, with a breeze no less! California needs a little breather...so many people died from the heat, including some elderly people. So sad.

The photography business is going well. Just last night we had some clients over and they were gushing over a slideshow my dad put together for them. It is so nice to get wonderful feedback on your work! The mom and dad cried, which got my mom crying. Teehee!

I was thinking the other day...have I had enough of a black and white theme? Would you change it, and if so, to what? I've never done a character theme, since it is beyond my comprehension, so I am limited. Suggestions would be great.

Welp, off to watch more animaniacs. Gosh, that is one hard word to keep spelling....

anywho, ciao!

   I love gettting mail!
My copy of the Animaniacs season 1 dvds came yesterday! I watched 5 episodes, just so I could get the giggles out my system (read: a big excuse to seclude myself away, haha). Even watched 2 with my family, namely the first episode with Dr Scratch-n-sniff, and the first short of Pinky and the Brain. Then we proceeded to watch How to steal a Million, starring Audrey Hepburn and Hugh Griffith. Great movie, I highly recommend it.

Then again, is there any bad movie with Audrey in it?

Anywho, my family finally saw PoTC: Dead Man's Chest. It was wonderful, and as I always do, I thought way too much during the movie about the characters and how they further the plot and intereact with each other. I will not discuss any of the several themes ruminating in my oveworked mind, since there is no way of knowing who has seen it and who hasn't. So, email me if you wish to discuss--I have no problem with that.

Sheesh, this has been nothing but a movie post. Do I need a life or what?

My uncle is in town looking for a house--his family is finally moving somewhere close by the rest of the family! I can't wait for sleepovers and birthday celebrations and whatnot. I heart my cousins, even the crazy ones.

Welp, till later.
Ciao, Shani

Blah day
the day after photgraphing a wedding is always tiring, and involves sleeping in. The last two weddings my family photographed for (we are in the business) ended somewhere around 11:30, which means we got home around midnight. Plus, we tend to look at some of them before going to bed.

So I slept from around 2ish to 1PM.

Plus the house is warm.

Not a very nice post, and I apologize. It's just one of those days.

On a happier note, I preordered a copy of the first season of the Animaniacs, which should come in two days. I also bought some iron on patches for my camera strap, so I know which camera is mine, since all four of us have cameras with black bodies. Gotta love getting mail, yes?

UPS and Fedex come by our house a lot, hehe. A gal who even regularly comes by our house brings treats for our 2 dogs.

Sweet of her, ne?

There isn't anything more to say (write?), so...
ciao.

A bittersweet moment
A grandmother on my dad's side passed away two days ago. All of us were shook up, as she had a sharp mind but a rapidly deteriorating body. However, she is no longer in pain, which she formerly was. She was 90 something, if I recall correctly.

In happier news, the wedding last saturday passed without a hitch, and people were happy, there was loads of food and dancing, and home made cake by the groom's mother (which was ever so chocolately).

Now my dad is chained to photoshop at the moment going through a couple hundred pictures (no joke). It's a lot of work.

Till next time, Shani

   Tired...
however I did want at least update before turning in for the night.

Torromorow my brother and I are going along with my parents to photograph a wedding, and its been fun with the engagement session, the rehearsal dinner. It is mind boggling how much effort it takes to plan for a half an hour wedding ceremony.

aside from work, life is going well.

Meh, getting to tired to ramble, so I'll leave you with a question and get to bed.

Question: What is your dream goal?
mine: to find a dance studio that will teach me all sundry styles of dance.

Superman Returns is awesome!
Look at title. Explanetory enough. We saw it from 10-12 at night though, so when we got home it was time for bed.

Methinks it'll turn out to be Starwars like in terms of prequels and sequels, with its great sound track.

So...what else to talk about?

*listens to the radio*

Meh, I'll leave you with a question of the post: Do you have posters of any kind on your walls? (EAMR, I KNOW you have posters galore!)

My answer: just 3. 2 are Furuba themed, the other Inuyasha. If you recall my pictures of my newly repainted room, my Inu poster in in my closet.

Ciao.

   A good day!
Today was errands day, among other things. Got some new exercise clothes too, as well as my whole family.

downloaded the soundtrack of the movie Cars..it rocks!

Oh, and shooting the Jewish wedding (technically I was assisting)...it is so much fun, and steeped in rituals and song. So lovely.

my last tidbit of news: I'm inheriting my dads canon camera, while he gets a new one. Nothing quite like a promotion!

Anywho, regarding my poll last post...I thank you all for your answers, as they helped. Gonna leave the white walls white, as I may decide to change my mind later. Many thanks!

Question of the post: what song can you hear over and over and not get tired of hearing?

The 4th of July has almost past, and here I am in bed. Today, on the day of our liberation of the United States ties to Great Britain, we had friends come over for a BBQ and watched, of all things, a movie about the Memoirs of a Geisha. Not very patriotic of me, huh?

The wedding went well--it was a Jewish wedding, which made it even more fun! It was tough getting shots, but at the same time, its a wedding that photographers love to get. So much detail and ritual...

So glad you guys all liked the pictures! (see last post if you have no clue what I am talking about). I have the following poll:
1) paint the other two walls red.
2) paint the other two walls a different color.
3) leave them as is.

I need some outside opinions on this, as I have discussed this with my parental units and we have no idea what to do with them.

Till next post, Shani.

Piccies!
Today I took the liberty of snapping some pictures of my newly painted room for your viewing pleasure. In order they are 1) the view as you open the door, 2)my closet,3)a pic of me against a red wall, and 4) a picture of a doll in scattered sunlight from my window.

Lesee, what else is on my agenda? Getting an old camera serviced, bettering my photography knowledge, writing a little, eventually getting my books for fall's classes...and visiting a dance studio close to my house.

Has anyone bought manga recently? If so, could somone one please tell me if Get Backers keeps up its adult themes through the whole series? If so, I would like to know. That is my only problem with that series otherwise.

Well it is getting late, and I should be getting to bed soon. Tomorrow is a long day, helping out at a wedding as photographic assistant.

Ciao.

the long overdue update
so...tomorrow (today by the time you may read this) is my last day of summer school, and boy am I glad!

In other news, my room is newly painted and redecorated. 2 of the walls are painted red, and boy is it so wonderful not to have stark white walls! My bed and night stand were moved around as to best make the best ...scheme...I guess you would say. It is so much better, so much more asian.

So, what did I miss, if I missed anything during my little hiatus? I hope to catch up on everyone, but who knows when that can happen.

That's all folks, I do want to get to bed at a reasonable time.

Ciao, Shani
