ok...last time I rant...I promise...
Ok, as I said not too long ago, I work at a videogame store, EB Games to be specific. Now, some of you may know that Gamestop just bought EB Games... well, the owner of EB needed the money or something so he sold out to Gamestop when EB's stock was double what Gamestop's was going for...take that as you will...and you know, I was pretty much ok with it, I mean, we now get a 30% discount at Barnes and Nobles and we get to borrow out games...pretty cool I must admitt.

We were told, until recently, that the changes would be minor, simply changing of the skew numbers and inventory management...stuff like that, no big deal. Well, last night we recieved an email telling us more of the "minor" changes we would be undergoing. They are as follows:

1. Schedule is no longer done at the store. All scheduling will now be done at headquarters...meaning I have to work when they tell me to work...forget the fact that I have school...so now, I have to try to work around their schedule and find a coworker who can cover the times I'm in school...and I'm not the only one who has a problem with that..almost everyone is going to school or is working a second job.

2. (This one irritates me the most!) Only the manager and the assistant manager now have access to the inventory. This means that if a customer comes up and asks if we have a game we won't be able to tell...unless, by some chance there is either the manager or assistant manager on duty... which won't be much of the time. This is the one that makes the least amount of sense as it complicates matters for the customer and the worker.

and

3. We are now assigned registers instead of anyone using either one. This is a little irritating. I can understand the whole making us honest theory (though I would like to point out that we have never had any problems with the register or coming up short). This means that if three people are working, one is on break and there are two people left with the line out the door (which actually happens a lot..you'd be surprised) only one worker is able to work a register...again..doesn't work with a games store.

So, there you are...my little rant...I had to get that off my chest...sorry..I know, I complain a lot, but it's very upsetting...of course, I'm not one who does well with change to begin with...but there you are.

Thank you and goodnight!

Underworld Evolution
Ok, friends, this is a little rant about the movie, Underworld Evolution...you've been warned.

I have been waiting for this movie since the first one came out and all but said there would be a second one. I LOVED the first one and watch it, still, several times a month. I love vampires and anything to do with them...take that as you will ^.~ so when the previews finally started for the second one I was excited. My store played the preview in a circut (with other things) for about a month or so..I pretty much know it by heart.

Finally, yesterday, I went to see the long-awaited movie...and it SUCKED!! I mean, there were parts that were cool, but the overall movie sucked. I was thinking of the first one when I watched it and was thinking "What on earth happened?!"

The opening scenes involved some major carnage and blood, kinda cool really, but then there werewolves came...and it went down hill from there. In the first one the wolves didn't look that bad...in fact, I think they were kinda cool...now they look like men walking around in fake costumes...like a mascot or something...really kinda sad.

So, all that to say, I loved the first one, hated the second one, but will still buy it, because it's the second part to the first one...kinda stupid, I realize...but there you go...all that time anticipating...down the drain.

Thank you and good night. ^.~

Original X-box or X-box 360
Ok, I work at a game store and over the christmas holidays I have sold a few 360s...as many as my store could get their hands on, in fact. We also have one mounted in our store, open for anyone to play.

I must admit that I find the new look very sleek and absolutely stylish..the Mac of the gaming world, as I saw one magazine put it. The graphics are also quite intense.

That said, I find the overall demand for one to be a little bit over the top. Yes, it is a nice system, with awesome graphics, but it ends there. This is the first generation, which, based on past experiences (i.e. PS2), people should know, always tend to suck. There are some, yes, who get good systems right off the bat. Many, however, do not get so lucky, as one of my coworkers found out, much to his dismay. And Live (according to Petie) is the main reason to get a 360..ok, but see the game part.

Now lets talk games. There are a few good games out, yes, but popular titles on the original X-box, such as Madden 06, actually suck on the new 360 because the game was rushed. Now, one excellent reason to get the 360 is because of one little game known by DOA 4 (Dead of Alive 4). I will admitt, that one title makes it tempting, I realize this, however, think about it. There are very few titles out on the 360 right now, the same problem as with the PSP, so why not wait? There will be more, and they will get better, don't get mad at your local gamers for not having the system.

I personally love my origianl xbox, it is my baby. One day, yes, I will probably get a 360, I just don't see the rush right now. My X-box can do basically everything the new 360 can. It can connect to the internet and can do Live...I just can't justify spending 400 dollars on a system, because buying the 300 dollar one is just a waste of money..it really it.

Which leads to another point. The great thing about the Original X-box, the thing that made is SO special and unique, was the fact that it had a hard drive. No other system had that, the thing was basically a computer for video games. Now they're offering one with and one without the hard drive...that is completely against the whole X-box greatness!

Now, I know some of you love your new 360, and to you I say congrats on getting one, they're hard to find right now. To those of you who are like me, and prefer their original, let me say more power to you! Keep on keeping on! ^.~

Now, to those of you who prefer PS2...let me say, that while the x-box is my baby, and I will always love it and prefer it, I must also say that I do love my PS2 as well. It is actually right up there with the x-box....def not in graphics, but because you don't need a dvd playback kit to watch movies, like you do with the x-box. Ok, that's kinda all the PS2 has going for it..but hey, at least I mentioned it.

And there you are, the ramblings of a tired video game store clerk.

Thank you and goodnight!

   Well, what's on todays agenda...

First of all, thank you so much, everyone who has welcomed me back. I almost started crying, I wasn't expecting it at all. You all are just too sweet for words! So thanks!

And yay! for being back with THAT! Fun fun!!! ^.^

Well, I'm watching The Princess Bride right now...great movie...really stands against the sands of time...not that its been up against the sands for that long, mind you. Have any of you read the book? I read it once, and let me tell you something...the movie is way better. I love Wesley in the movie, I hate him in the book...little annoying person that he is, his personality is just too overbearing.

Oh, I have a fanfiction up, in case any one wants to read it...still in the works though, and I can't update it very often. The address, since I don't know how to do those links yet, is http://www.fanfiction.net/s/2669747/1/

So there you are. ^.^

How is everyone enjoying their classes? Anyone read any good books lately? Let me know! Talk to you all later!

Oh, and those of you who pray, or do whatever it is you do, please pray for me. On Tuesday I put all my paperwork in for the exchange program for my school. I'm trying to get to England...so keep your fingers crossed! I'll know shortly after the paperwork is in...Right now I get to just learn as much as I can about the country, its politics, people, and teaching methods....which is cool anyways.

So yeah, please...please pray

Well, I guess it's my first full day back. So, yay me ^.~

Yay tomorrow being a holiday, I need the extra time to do homework, as fun as that will be.

Today I went to work, stayed there for forever, then came home and played with my roommate's new puppy, Ziggy. Such a cutie he is. Little black chihuahua/pomerianian boy who loves to play and sleep.

Can't wait for Underworld Evolution to come out!!

I know, I'm such a dull person...I mean, I spend my free time in a library..what more do you expect?

I guess that's all for now folks!

I'll try to find some conversation starters...maybe that will help me come up with things to talk about. If not, I'll tell you all the wonderful things that have been happening in my life this last year...

Well, talk to everyone later.
