such a happy thing. i know full well that work could be worse (such as yami and her beekeeping, flipping burgers or bagging groceries), but im not too enthusiastic about my job and im very happy its almost over. so, couple weeks left, then i have 2 weeks until school starts again. where did my relaxing summer go??

put up the promised pic. just finished it, and started to loose patience at the end, so its not near my best. theres a history to it, if you can be bothered to go look at da to find out.

so, now all the art stuff seems to hit at once. i have at least three series of projects that must be done. geez, go from nothing to do, to swamped. sorry liana, but your stuff is taking the far back burner. aces requests are going to get started today i hope. and i intend to try to do some more demon concepts in the mix somewhere. they went and made that much harder for me, but ill see what i can do.

well then
edit: oops. messed up the links there. should be better now. stupid coding...one little mistake.

back from the lake. had fun. liana and i were going to burn old, evil school crap, but we completely forgot that theres a burn ban in place for most of the state. cursed weather. well, when its well over 100 degrees with no rain for weeks, you tend to have problems. still, we were disappointed. we took the houseboat out and stayed overnight on an island. fortunately it wasnt brutally hot at night, because our generator decided to die at about 11:30, so we had no AC all night. got a bit stuffy until we opened doors and windows. which was great until dawn. morning light is lovely unless youre trying to sleep. i complain too much, it was a nice weekend.

well, my first official contest is over with a rousing single entry from both theOtaku and dA. now that i look at it, most of my actual friends on both sites arent actually artists. so an art contest didnt seem to be the best idea. *shrug* ill keep that in mind for the future. anyway, heres the single entry:

in happy news, i only have 10 days of work left *rejoice* ive made some good money, and i dont think ive ever been in better physical shape, but im tired of fighting the heat and the fun daily feeling of strained muscles.

at last
finally friday. ive had one hectic week.

going to the lake this afternoon *celebrates* lianas coming as usual. we hope to have the jetski, but i wont know that for sure until tomorrow afternoon. our poor jetski came down with mechanical ebola (aka it was leaking) taken a long time to get it fixed. liana and i plan to bring a bunch of school stuff with us, take it out on an island one night, and have a bonfire. whats more satisfying that burning old school crap?

no new art for you, and i wont have any until i get back. i have a sketch going, but thats all it is so far. not that theres much to it; it was fairly spontaneous. well, sorta. theres a history behind it. have a couple other things i need to do eventually too. yay.

not much else really. contest is technically still on until sunday.

ugh
a good bit of this is complaining, so onsider yourself warned. skip to the third paragraph if you dont care.

yesterday was the hottest day here so far all summer. it hit and stayed at 102'F most of the afternoon. that was bad enough in a job that requires you to be outside. however, it was also the most physically demanding day ive had. for those who never heard or forgot, im the delivery driver for a printing company. "but youre delivering paper, how bad is that?" yeah its just paper, but when you have 50lbs of it, its quite a handful. thats nearly half my weight, so you can imagine the fun. i can handle 1-4 large boxes at a time, and i usually dont have much more. today everyone seemed to decide to want their stuff or want to send us stuff. over the course of the day, i loaded and unloaded over 40 boxes of crap, ranging from 2-50lbs a piece. needless to say, inus a bit worn down.

ok, im done whining for those who skipped over that. on the bright side, i have less than 3 weeks left. then i get 2 full weeks off before i go back to school. ah i look forward to that day.

as some of you no doubt saw, i did another in "lianas series of favorite characters". thats 3 done, 5 left. i have the reference picture for the next one in my greedy little paws, and i hope to start on that within the next few days.

just a comment, for those (aka ace) who did (or may decide to do) anything for my supposed contest, i wont be in town on the original deadline (this saturday) so i just pushed it back to sunday for now. if anyone shows interest by the date but cant have anything done by then, i may push it back a few more days. (i hate contests that run into infinity, so dont expect much extra time) not that i really expect that. this is pretty much ending up as a glorified art trade between ace and i. so ace i thank you. well see if there are any further developments.

also, random news on the writing front. this new story project liana and i are working on is going nicely. were at ~40 pgs in word, so about 80+ pgs in standard paperback format. not bad. i may stick a snippet of that on here at some point to see what people think.

stuff
such an eventful day *feel the sarcasm* went to lunch with my granny, which was nice. dont see her that much. went to barnes and noble after that for no real reason. i have books here. i browsed around through the art section for awhile, skimming through some books. i pride myself on not using "how to draw" books, but theyre fun to look through. tho its amazing just how bad some of them are, especially the "how to" fantasy and anime ones. the art is so bad in some of them. then of course there are the ones that make you feel so inadequate.

was amused by the naruto marathon on toonami last night. granted, id seen several of them already, but it was some good background noise while i was drawing until the new ones came on. yeah, i drew. liana has her hit list of video game characters that im required to draw. so 3 down, 5 to go. the entire list consists of: dante and vergil(dmc), sephiroth, vincent, cloud, auron, reno (ff) and neo (matrix). so far, ive drawn dante, auron and now cloud. a ways to go, ne? if you happen to know of some good, large and non-anime images of the characters i havent drawn, please feel free to send me links. i cant find many that i can use for reference. its really hard to draw characters i know nothing about, and impossible without good reference. that would be quite kind of you. it would also be very nice to go look at and comment on my cloud pic.

whooo
good concert. very good concert. went to see michael buble, for those who didnt see yesterdays post. man, it was good. such awesome music. the brass section is phenomenal, and the songs are actually good. most of them are old jazz, which is always awesome. i love that kind of old music. modern music is mostly crap. but ya, great concert. he puts on a great show. very very witty and clever. the crazed fangirly-ness of the entire audience was just hilarious to those of us who went for the music and not the pretty boy. so very funny.

no new art as of yet. *gasp* a post with no art? whats wrong with inu?! answer: inus busy. but, with the weekend coming up, and inu being left to her own devices, art shall be forthcoming. honestly.

itai...
hard couple days for inu, with no end in sight. had upwards of half a ton of stuff (mail, paper, etc) on monday, and around 400 lbs of mail today. youd never think paper could weigh so much. but 50 lbs is 50 lbs, no matter if its paper or steel. im quite frankly surprised that i havent pulled something yet. my back and arms protest daily.

this is apparently the time of trips for the summer. my parents and another couple are going out of state, as is liana, and one of my co-workers is going to norway. going to be quiet around the house, just me and the dog.

anyone here heard of michael buble? hes here in concert tonight, and mom and i are going. should be good. he has some great music.

art stuff
as i said yesterday, i got some art up in the afternoon. beginning design images for two species liana and i created for a book project in the making. yes, inu said book, not fanfic. were a bit stuck on the fanfics, so were taking a break and doing something more worthwhile. well likely get back to our pointless randomness of the fanfics after this is finished, but that may well be awhile. so if you read our fanfics, dont expect a new story (other then the one were currectly updating) to be on there for a good while. were still using inu and liana, just changing them slightly to fit the new scenario. anyway, we have (so far) 5 major sentient species: demons, humans, draevin (drawn), rithalen (drawn) and sira. the sira are based off of an image ive done before, but ill redesign that a bit later. not going to say much more about this at the time, as were not too far in. but do please go look at the pictures and tell me what you think.

work is going alright. definately not the most fun thing. this is going to be that crazy summer job that everyone has at one point or another. kinda nice tho that im getting in pretty good shape. i have 4 weeks left as of now. i go back to college on the 20th of august, and i wanted at least a week before to take it easy and pack and all that. However, on the 8th, my dog has his eye surgery. someone has to be home with him, and my mom has stuff she has to do. so im making my last day the 4th instead. what? my dog is more important than money.
