good stuff
long time no update, ne? been busy and really havent had anything worht talking about.

saw pirates of the caribbean 2 yesterday. oh man it was awesome! such great effects and fight scenes. geez and the end was absolutely killer. if you havent gone to see it, go do so. id say it was better than the first.

as last time, i dont have any art for you as of right now, but i hope to have some later today. working on some more stuff for that so-called "secret" project of mine and lianas (which you would know about if you followed the links i gave you) these two are creature designs, which are incidentally also character designs. we havent come up with specific characters of them yet, but you know what i mean. i hope to have those sometime later, so please check back.

home again
happy late 4th for the americans on here. isnt it fun to have a holiday where you celebrate by blowing things up?

yes, inu and liana were at the lake all weekend. twas much fun. we both love the long, lazy weekends we spend over there. there were so many people, as usual, that we didnt get out on the lake that much. the water is too rough and there are more idiots who cant pilot boats than you can imagine. so we stayed in the dok and swam all weekend. we got my dog out on a floatie, and he was most happy. he was out of the water, but with us, so he wasnt afraid or anything.

one of the neighbors has a new kitten, and so of course we had to go see it. its a feral cat that they managed to civilize enough to keep. they named her cuddles of all things. shes a silver tabby, with bright gold eyes. and shes about 10 weeks old, they think. simply put, shes adorable.

we took dorkiness to the next level and watched some old disney movies, just because we can. who doesnt love disney movies? and you catch all the jokes that you didnt get as a little kid. so yes, we watched pocahontas and balto (not disney, but whatever) it was amusing.

i dont have new art for you right now, but i will later today. liana and i have a seceret project in the works which involves a change in design on inu and liana. (tying them down long enough to work the changes out was painful. liana wouldnt give up her coat.) so ill have those new concepts up later, and maybe some creature designs we made as well. whats the project, you ask? its a seeeeeeeeeecret. arent i mean? no, ill reveal it a bit later as were further into it.

happy things
tested for my next belt in tkd last night, as i mentioned already. and i passed. tis happy. im now a normal colored belt again. heh, after testing, liana and i decided that, since we both passed, we should do something. so we went to get ice cream. we went to one of our favorite restaurants (anyone ever heard of purple cow?) and got milkshakes. we got very funny looks from people.

looking forward to going to the lake tomorrow. yay long weekend. inu needs it. she is mentally and physically tired. yay lake. the lake makes everything better. and there will be fireworks this year (there werent last year >:P) thats always much fun. scares my dog half to death, but its fun for the rest of us.

bleh...this contest of mine seems to be a bit of a flop. 2 people here have shown any possible interest, and no one on DA has even responded. i know it still has a good while until the deadline i set, but still. so please? if you or your friends are artists and like drawing violent psycho dragons, please enter. *puppy eyes*

more goings-on
work is going well. not fun, but not horrid.

going to the lake this weekend. thatll be fun, but all the idiots will be there. everyone and their grandmother drags a boat to the lake for the holiday weekend. and half of them are drunk by noon. makes the lake a less that friendly place for swimming and whatnot.

im testing for my next belt in tkd tonight. not really worried or anything. i know my stuff pretty well.

also, i mentioned awhile ago that i had been asked to draw some demon concepts for a friends video game. have one done for now.

at last
finally, i have gotten off my lazy butt and drawn something.liana asked me to draw her dog, jazz, so i did.

hes a labradoodle, and hes adorable. my shading leaves something to be desired, but my scanner being crappy doesnt help. take a look, and let me know what you think.

the ATA (american taekwondo association) world championships are held here every year (god knows why in this little city). anyway, it started last night, and liana and i went to the opening ceremonies. wow, were both terribly unworthy. there was 7th and 8th degree testing, which we both think would be terribly hard to do in front of a huge crowd and/or the grand master. there was a demo team, which was freaking awesome. im not going to go into a whole lot of detail, seeing as i dont really know that much and id bet most people reading this know less than i do. just suffice it to say that watching 6th, 7th and 8th degree black belts is amazingly awesome. we could both feel the aura of greatness radiating off the stage. yeah, were not worthy.

in other random news, liana has asked me to draw her dog. hes a labradoodle (labrador and standard poodle), and hes adorable. so i may get around to doing that in the near future. also, liana brother and his roommate are working on a video game, and he asked if i might try some creature drawings for them. hes supposedly sending me a list at some point for that. so ya, art will hopefully be forthcoming. sorry for the art hiatus, little time and no inspiration.

CONTEST ALERT
from boredom and curiosity was born a contest. yes, inus jumping on the bandwagon. as i said, its from boredom and curiosity. i wont explain my reasoning anymore, ill just get to it.

contest rules:

-draw inu and/or liana in human or dragon form (picture links at bottom)
-out of context is acceptable, but please stay in character
-you may put in your characters as well, but again, please keep it mostly in character
-absolutely NO hentai (this includes skimpy clothing)
-no inside jokes that no one will understand; general comedy is alright
-only i am allowed to draw them badly injured. dont do that.
-submit one entry only
-use any medium you wish

simple enough, eh? ow for some things to help you should you choose to enter:

inus human form
inus dragon form
lianas human form
lianas dragon form

characters:
inu is a half dog demon, half black dragon demon. she has the ability to control red, black and silver/white fire, as well as illusions. her temper is as hot as her fire, leading her to be reckless and violent. she has mastered several different fighting styles and more weapons than you could name. shes had a rough life of death and attempted assassination, so she trusts no one and tends to stay on her own. in general, shes a harsh, violent, semi-sadistic psycho dragon.

Liana, on the other hand, is Inu's opposite. She is a black dragon youkai. Her abilities are scattered, but her strongest is by far her mental torture. This consists of having your memories and others twisted into your worst fears. She also has a basic command over lightning and blue fire. Her primary weapon is a katana, with black and silver wrapping around the hilt. Unlike Inu, she has a calm demeanor. Abandoned when she was still a hatchling, Liana has learned to live on her own. She is completely self-sufficient, and the only things that can sway her from her indifferent mood are shiny things and her best friend, Inu.

1st place- 2 requests, full color and bg
2nd place- 1 request, color and bg
3rd place- 1 request, black and white
runner up- not sure. ill come up with something if it arises.

judges shall be myself and liana, and judging shall be based on creativity and originality, not artistic skill.

the main point of this is to see inu and liana in other styles. all we ask is that you keep things in character and make sure to include copyright info. inu is (c) me and liana is (c) kairi37.

well then
so, i live. im pretty lazy about updating in the summer unless i post art (which i havent done) entered into another random art slump, so nothing new at the moment.

going into my 4th week of work. still going as well as could be expected. im nicely learning my way around parts of town i didnt know existed. i spend far too much time downtown tho. thats not fun no matter what city youre living in. far too many one-way streets that go the exact wrong way. im rather surprised that my back hasnt been protesting the heavy work. it tends to protest nothing for no apparent reason. not that im complaining, as thats really annoying. still not used to getting up at 6:30.

im sure some of you saw this picture. i liked the characters so much, i redrew them from the original, and then they started developing a story. they now have species names, and the beginnings of a random story. no idea where its going or how long it will be or if i even finish it. its an amusing past-time. kinda odd to be writing something not involving inu and liana, but fun. so, since my main characters arent "normal" fantasy species, im trying to avoid using others (elves, dwarves, halflings, etc.) so im working on making up some other races. im going to use my ar'uth'en race, but im trying to work on other humanoid species. not that easy, but fun.
