More, more!

How's everyone? Having a good day? Mine is just OK (Sis monopolized my morning again, but we did get to watch a couple of episodes of anime together...)

So, I got to all of those on my friends' list who commented on my last post. Those of you whom I haven't added, I promise to visit you very soon! Yesterday, I planned to come around the O at about this time, but we were having some strange electrical problems. I swear, it's something every day in this house! *sighs*

Anyway, during my month-long hiatus, I did manage to read some manga and watch some anime! Mostly, Escaflowne, which I'm amazed that I like as much as I do. I also watched Mirage of Blaze, which was really interesting to me, but it kinda cut off in the middle of things. I only have the Chinese subbed OAVs. If anyone knows where I can streamload them with English subs, let me know. I've also been keeping up with D. N. Angel and Gungrave as these series are released on DVD. I STILL haven't been able to view the fourth disc of Spiral.

I plan to start working up some wallpapers that can be posted on the O soon. I have several Furuba and DNAngel themed ones in mind. We'll see if I actually have the chance to work on those any time soon!

Anyhow, I'll be back on tonight, so I'll see you all then!

EDIT: As promised, here are some manga-themed wallpapers at 1024 X 768. Right-click the thumbnails and save the link or target file:

I'm Baaa-aaack!

Konnichiwa! I've got a lot of catching up to do here on the O (I can't believe I've not been here for about a month! Sorry for abandoning everyone. Here's the deal:

My move from North Carolina to Tennessee went rather smoothly, if you don't count the tons of stuff I had to throw away or donate just to be able to make one trip via U-Haul. It was extremely difficult to let some (most) of my stuff go. When I made it to Tennessee, I then had the task of squeezing all the stuff I could bring into one storage unit and one room at my parents' house. Yikes! This room (from which I am currently typing) is not the smallest room in the world, but since it still has my stuff in it from when I was in HIGH SCHOOL ( @_@ ), there's not much free space.

Since I've been here, I've had to deal with several factors. 1) My dad uses our dial-up all the time--urk! 2) My sister monopolizes my time when she's off work. 3) I've had to search for and begin my new copyediting job (bo-ring Zzzz!).

Anyway, folks, it's not over. The second week in July, I move into my sister's new house. At least there I will have my own master suite! However, I may not be on a faster internet connection after all :( --but you can't have everything.

So, now I have a bit of breathing room until then--I thought I'd come over and catch up. I hope you all haven't dropped me from your friends' lists! Please, add me back! *begs, whines*

Anyway, I'll also try to post a new BG today, even though I know most of you haven't really been able to see my Finder theme for very long. However, my popularity rating has still dropped over this premature winter. You people rock! Thanks for still stopping in from time to time! I'll be getting around to you all this afternoon (I hope to have time to visit archives then). Bye for now!

EDIT:
I decided to put up a Stigma BG. This means that you won't find it in the WP section (it's manga, not anime). If enough of you express some interest, I might link to some of my wallpapers that are manga-themed for your greater downloading pleasure. As you can see, this BG comes from a manga from the same mangaka who did Gensoumaden Saiyuki!

Ayano Yamane

Because I've been waiting for this manga-ka's Viewfinder manga to finally be released in the English language, I decided to work up a BG and avi based on one of her bishies. I don't know when the first Finder GN will actually be shipped out, but I am anticipating it (though I've already read the scans).

Anyway, the color scheme is a bit off to me. I'm trying to think of a text color that would work better, but it's trial and error at this point.

I hope you all like the theme!

Now, it's time for me to be in bed (2 AM)!

I'm back

Sorry for leaving the O for about a wek there (again). I've been working out small details for my big move to Tennessee. Today, I also had to go in to campus and clear out my office. I still haven't decided on a theme for tomorrow. I may do a manga-related theme, or it might be a Sanzo and Gojyo one. We'll see. Bye for now! More later! Gotta catch a bus!

Last Sanzo

How are y'all today? Good, I hope!

Well, this is my last Sanzo theme for a while. Though you might see him again soon with one of his comrades. I hope you like it. I might tweak this BG before posting it as a wallpaper. I am dissatisfied still with certain elements.

Today, I've done nothing but download and upload. In fact, I'm still at it. Hopefully, when I move in with my sister, she'll have a faster connection to the internet, maybe satellite? Any of you know anything about that? I'm supposed to research it for her when I move back to Tennessee (I'd be satisfied with cable, only the cable company that provides service out her way isn't terribly reliable).

Anyway, time for lunch. I'm anticipating a piece of low-carb cheese cake (it's just like the real thing, only Splenda is used instead of sugar. Splenda is as sweet as sugar, only it has a fruitiness in it). I wasn't able to get back around to the O after about 4PM yesterday, so when I make my rounds later, I'll start with those of you who posted comments whom I didn't get to visit.

EDIT:
The WP is up. The one I submitted is a bit more vivid, with heightened contrast. It's also a larger file download. I'd love to change the BG here to this version, but Photobucket would resize the file to get it under 250KB (Boo! Hiss!).

Deftones--Around the Fur

Hi, everyone! I hope you all had great weekends. I haven't been doing much now that the grade crunch is over. I came in to campus to clear a few items from my office, and while I was on the bus, this guy from my apartment complex kept staring at me 9we've never spoken before; we just got on at the same stop). It made me really self conscious, because he was covert about it. He didn't smile or anything; it's just that whenever I looked up from the window or the iPod, he would look away--frustrating. Now, though I think he probably was noticing the coffee stain on my shirt. :D

I've been reading more scanslations recently. I've thought about joining a group as a cleaner, editor, or proofer, but most of the jobs request some knowledge of Japanese. I know no Japanese, but I do know when the scans I read don't make any sense in English. Those that don't need an understanding of Japanese request that you be available on the group's IRC channel. I have a Mac and a slow modem, which makes IRCing next to impossible. I keep getting disconnected due to inactivity before I can leech. I wish these groups would be more torrent-oriented. :D

Anyhoo-I'm heading off to the grocery store right now, and I'll see you all when I get back!

Eurythmics--Love is a Stranger

OK. So, I didn't get the grades in on time. You all knew, ne? They are finally out of my hands. Now, they are safely in the hands of the registrar, and I can just shrug at those students who seem to think I negotiate. I couldn't change the grades at this point, even if I wanted to do so. I had a student a couple of years ago who cried for over an hour in my office thinking that somehow, pity would move me to give her a better grade. I did pity her, but there really isn't anything I can do after I submit final grades unless I can prove that I made a calculation error, and then the department head has to be involved; it's lesson enough to never make an error calculating grades.
Anyway, they aren't screaming at my door just yet.

Now I can focus on the recent anime I got from Netflix. I've watched the 4th DNAngel disc already, and am now finally turning my attention to two recommended animes: Orphen and Heat Guy J. I hope I like them. I hope to get Saiyuki Reload disc 2 soon, but there's a long wait. Netflix has finally removed Cowboy Bebop 6 from my queue. They've finally admitted that they don't have any more copies. I hope they replace it soon.

Angelfish--Dogs in a Cage

Argh! Damn wireless network! I keep getting this stupid alert about wireles connectivity on my laptop. The wireless signal from the next building over is just strong enough that my adapter connects and disconnects to the network. Every time it connects, I'm alerted; every time it disconnects, I'm alerted; every time I click the alert bubble, it tries to connect and tells me that it can't, and then it alerts me to repair the connnection. It's a never ending cycle of needless alerting! It's driving me crazy. OK, windows OS, shutup about the wireles connection already! *tears of frustration as Gray Undies slips into end of term insanity*

Anyway, I'm working on final grades today. I hope to have them finished by 5 PM, but it's sooo doubtful. *sigh*

EDIT: Oh! And those of you who update often but haven't stopped by in 4evah can expect to be taken off the friends list!

White Belly--Belly

Really on a Belly kick today, don't know why. It's about midnight. I haven't been to those of you who haven't been my way yet. I'll try to work my way around to you. It depends on this new BG I'm working on. I can't quite get it the way I want it, so it might be tomorrow morning before the new Sanzo is up.

Anyway, I've also got Finals to grade. As predicted, the students took every single minute of the three hours they were allotted. Only 1/3 of the class actually handed in their finals at the 2 hour mark. So frustrating!

Well, I've got downloads going on in the background, so, I'll sign off for now and continue cracking away at Sanzo!

EDIT:
Well, I worked at it and worked at it, and somehow, it still feels alot like the DVD cap. But the DVD cap could have been used for a BG all by it's lonesome, I guess. Anyway, I hope you like it!

   Belly--Dusted

Today is the final exam for my Contemporary Lit class. I haven't yet made the exam. Before I do that, I thought I'd swing by here. I can't believe I have to sit in a classroom for 3 hours while students dither over a test designed to last 1 1/2 hours. I'll use the time to grade some in-class responses I haven't looked at yet and update the gradebook. I can't wait until it's all over, but then the gading starts again, and after that--preparation for The Move.

This morning was really strange. This colleague of mine (with whom I have exchanged greetings and quips for about 4 years) rode the same bus as I did and barely spoke a word. I was nice and even made the attempt to show interest in her work, but she just answered my question and fell silent. I got the impression that she didn't want to talk to me (not that she didn't want to talk at all). Weird. What's that chick's problem? Now I have to wonder what the latest departmental gossip about me is. *frustrated* Maybe I'm just being paranoid? *damn social anxiety*

Anyhoo--talk to you later!
