Quick Post

Just thought I'd pop in and say I'm not dead...just really stressing over con stuff. About two weeks away from the con and there is still so much we have left to do....and I still haven't gotten a list of all the DVDs we are getting to screen, if we don't get it in soon either I'm going to have to pull more fansubs since at this point....which means I can do more stuff from the new summer season unlike last year when most of the "new" stuff we did was from like spring ^^;

People complaining about panels and events at this late point in the game can bite me.

Although I've finally been able to buy the material for North High uniform...and roped another person into doing Hare Hare Yukai for the opening ceremonies. Speaking of OC we are planning some cool stuff just for that....including a little ____X____ action on stage....lol.

My four year TheO anniversary is coming up...probably will just change the layout or something then. Although the third official anniversary passed a bit over a month ago....I say official anniversary since that is when I first posted...like three times and really started doing stuff more on MyO rather than just using it to get spiffy wallpapers.

Last Anime Seen: Boccano, first ep doesn't seem to do the series much justice but it is a story set in 1930s America and follows the stories of several people who progressively in episode one turn out to all be connected for one reason or another.

That's all for now.....See you on the otherside

Blah Blah more RealmsCon stuff....blah blah blah I wish we had more room....blah blah blah I want more time....blah blah blah people need to meet deadlines already...blah blah blah.

Last Anime Seen: Umisho.....lots of water...lots of bathing suits and plenty of dirty humor aplenty. ^______^

fangirls beware

I'm in your studios *via e-mail* talking to your favorite voice actors.

So yeah between the migrane that is my family and the tumor....or so I call it named Danny and working like crazy to get this program done on time I finally get some more e-mails for people on the guest list for RealmsCon and in the past two days I've gotten responses form a few of the people who have looked over the tentative schedule already giving me suggestions for some new panels like a Gantz and a Saiyuki panel XD *dies* and questioning about what would go on during some of the other ones as well as the lone webcomic I contacted who said she won't be waking up to do a panel before lunchtime.

Ah speaking of Gantz also Chrislea came up with a great idea that we might use involving well Gantz and then I helped turn it into a very cheesy B-horror live action thing....LOL

Anyways thought I'd post in ever now and again and share the little happy things that brighten up days when there aren't enough pills to settle my brain.

Last Anime Seen: 009-1, since I had heard the podcast a few weeks ago about how the main girl had guns in her boobs...like the fembots from Austin Powers and since ADVocates sent it on a promo disc I thought I'd give it a try. Sad to say that the first frame I even get to see is "This DVD has been edited due to mature content" T_T that was the whole reason I got excited when I saw the featured title. Not a bad series...if you are into espionage with the same character design from Cyborg 009 and the lead character whose entire job in the series is to get information by sleeping with the enemy and be there for cheesecake shots.

That's all for now.....See you on the otherside

   The Sun it burns us~!

Kk rather than sleep right now I decided it was a good time to do a bit of a picture post and update y'all on my little adventures. Maine lots and lots of Realmscon stuff BUT that did turn into me getting once again create an anime exhibit down at the Texas State Asian Cultures Museum....woot. Actually I had to take charge and take over the responsibility of doing the exhibit since Rebeca was in charge of it until last Thursday when she said basically that she didn't want it although I probably should have been more prepared for it since she had avoided the world for a few months to recover from finals...then going right into the teaching field. Enough about that though, I got another good friend of mine, Chrislea to help be basically design and come up with different displays that didn't go through since people decided since Rebeca was out I wouldn't get what they had promised me ages ago. Still the exhibit turned out really cool and we've been asked back once again for next year already to do another exhibit, yay~!

Here are some random shots from the exhibit including a very sleep deprived but happy to have completed the exhibit Ookumae in front of the general Shounen case.

General Shoujo Case

Back wall complete with wallscrolls, mangazines and some ADVocates pamphlets that we are letting people take.

.hack side of the Video Game case the other side is Final Fantasy and Video Games that have either influenced or been influenced by anime, I'd have a shot of it included but it came out rather blurry.

Our Fan Participation Case....lol that's my photo of Hiei at the bottom

Ah the Death Note....we had fun putting names and little jokes in it. Or rather Chrislea said it would be funny and I said do it...*smirk* then she debated on if she wanted to be Misa or Mikami....LOL

Ryuk.....so cute another little joke we started and then did since we could. Yes Ryuk has a speech bubble and it says "Got Apples?"

Me in front of the General Shounen case

Hmm...other than slaving in a hot museum hours on end and losing sleep for planning and creating this exhibit and doing some RealmsCon planning on the side I really haven't been up to much on my own.

Funny thing during our lunch break we head over to the Whataburger downtown and along the way we notice a bunch of tourists and question why they are there all grouped together and I pretty much say "probably nothing better to do and kinda shrug it off" then we see a long line of cars outside the Whataburger and I decide "let's go inside" only to find "OMG PEOPLE" that place was so packed I seriously felt sorry for anyone working there today. Yeah well that was pretty much the day sans all the RealmsCon planning and playing Catan today....so I guess that only leaves LAS

Last Anime Seen: Zombie-Loan....just watch it and laugh as B-kun uses "500-yen" lol~! Short one today I know but I should really get some sleep before I go back to the museum and just smile really big as the hundreds of students that are scheduled go through the exhibit all wide-eyed ^____^

That's all for now.....See you on the otherside

Put out the fireworks stupid rain

So it's officially Independence Day here in America and right now I was just awakened by a severe storm....flash flooding all over Texas y'all =( Beyond the insane amounts of rain we've been getting things have been going pretty good this summer...sorry for the lack of updates it's just not that much has been going on for me other than planning RealmsCon and the anime exhibit at the Asian Cultures Museum.

This past weekend I went up to Austin with a couple of friends....well first we went to San Antonio and they did a bit of shopping and then we went to San Marcos and they did a bit more shopping and then we went to see a friend in Austin, then the next day we went to Schilterrbahn :3 I hadn't gone to a theme park let alone a waterpark in ages. I did so many rides this time around...now that I'm not as scared of fast things. :sweatdrop:

Since I came back with a good amount of money even after depositing some into the bank, I went to Waldenbooks and picked up some manga and was super lucky to find they were running a buy 3 get the 4th free special on Viz titles. I was sad to see they didn't get Ouran v9 in yet so I went ahead and pre-ordered it. I picked up Millennium Snow v2, Tail of the Moon v5, and La Corda d'Oro v1. I had been wanting to check out Corda d'Oro for a while now I had heard some of good stuff about it from a few people on Gaia but mostly people comparing it to Ouran. Which is somewhat understandable since it is a reverse harem series, and they both ran in Lala magazine but those are about the only similarities....ok a couple of the character designs are close although I think the designes to some of the characters look closer to Mikiyo Tsuda's work (Princess Princess, Day of Revolution, Family Complex) more than Bisco Hatori's work (Ouran, Millennium Snow)

Here is the synopsis from the back cover:
===
Every few years, the prestigious Seisou Academy holds a prominent musical competition, and only the very best students at the Academy are allowed to participate. Though all are eligible to apply, only students from the music department actually make it to the competition...unitl now. Kahoko Hino is a General Education student and has no musical skill, but all that changes when she catches a glimpse of an elusive fairy who lives on campus. The fairy grants Kahoko a magic violin, and before she knows it, she's nominated to participate in the school's music competition with five very attractive boys, Whill she win love and fame, or will bitter rivalry rule the day?
===

Actually the synopsis isn't all that accurate to the story either. Kahoko sees the fairy freaks out and runs, then gets nominated to be in the contest. After trying to back out of it a couple of times she goes into an empty practice room where the fairy gives her a magical violin that supposedly gives anybody who uses it the power to play no matter what their skill level is with the instrument. Also in the first volume at least she is in competition with four attractive boys and one cute girl and has another gen ed student she is having a story line with....but I'm sure the other girl will leave the competition by the end of the story and the gen ed boy she is having a story line with will join in the competition.

After reading the first volume I thought it was really cute and wanted to look up more about it and then found that they had animated it this past October and so I picked up the first episode which just happens to be my LAS this time around.

Last Anime Seen: La Corda d'Oro ~Primo Passo~
It's a very cute shoujo series based off a romance game....and it's rather obvious that it is based off a romance game but still a good watch...and read! A few discrepancies between the manga and the anime but I'm sure there were many discrepancies between the manga and the game for that matter but still even if you haven't played the game or even seen anything about this series before I'd recommend trying out La Corda d'Oro ~Primo Passo~

That's all for now.....See you on the otherside....and Happy Independence Day to all my American buddies.

Ok so other than RealmsCon stuff not much has really happened lately in my life although in about two weeks a couple of my friends are planning a trip up to San Antonio and possibly Austin to go shopping and just to have a fun outing.

Membership in club is down as summer usually is but you know some days I don't even see why I bother like tonight in club there were only like seven of us and that's because I drive one friend there and another goes just because he helps supply the anime we watch. Also we started doing the weekly sampler again this semester since if we didn't we'd get out about 20 minutes earlier and when I first did the sampler I didn't account on that much time being left over and the previous president said to try different stuff every week and then I got tired of it and wanted to get everyone hooked on The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya so last semester instead of doing a sampler I did Haruhi which I'm glad I did but this semester even though I'm going with choices that other members and previous members have picked out as well as stuff that has good reviews but these two that I have done so far (Lucky Star and Kaze no Stigma) didn't really get good reactions from the group. I mean Lucky Star got an OMGWTF reaction and people rolling in the aisle when one of the guests started calling one of the characters disgusting for putting mayo on everything. Next week everyone should be happy with the sampler it's Devil May Cry, it would have been tonight's but the version I had was the initial release and riddled with spelling and grammar errors, the version 2 was released early Friday but I didn't see it until about 20 minutes until I needed to be out the door to go upload everything for club. But enough ranting about that.

I've been watching a lot of new and some old anime lately....the last ep 1 that I saw was actually of a slightly older series Honey and Clover and I started Law of Ueki...Ukei but I really needed to sleep....or else I would have really died today.....anyway like I was saying...Devil May Cry.

YES the anime of Devil May Cry is out NOW ^______^ I love the animation I know ep 1 is almost always character development but it was cute and full of blood and gore just like I like it although I'm not sure how much I like the character design....I mean it's really good although I think it could still have been much better. I hope someone will put out a HD sub, I mean I love the v2 and even the sub I have that is riddled with errors but it's just so much better in HD.

Last Anime Seen: Kaze no Stigma...good but very typical story it seems. Kazuma's family are all fire users in fact he was to be the heir of the head family but he has 0 talent with fire....he ends up moving out of Japan and changing his name to Yagami and becomes an expert Wind mage. Once he comes back to Japan 3 members of the branch family are killed by an excellent wind mage, of course Kazuma is the prime suspect of these killings and the head of the clan sends out 2 high ranking mages to bring Kazuma back for questioning. They along with a spy of the wind family that works for them end up being killed by a "mysterious being" and thus putting Kazuma in an even worse spot.

That's all for now.....See you on the otherside.

yay today we get a picture post to take up even more space....aren't we lucky..lol

ok quick thing from last post

devilsadvocate: KA was AMAZING~! Like the tag line says: "You can see it, you can experience it, but you won't believe it" This trailer has a better explaination than I can provide.

darkeangel: ...even though you might not see this, it would be awesome if you could make it down here ^^

kk so the big thing that happened this past weekend A-Kon woot woot. I did A-Kon TV again this year and was one of three volunteers, and here I thought I was going to get a lot of down time...although there wasn't really a lot to record this year so it was good that there weren't a lot of us and then also we didn't have to do main programming thank god since the Art Institute of Dallas took that over for us....but that means next year there will be even less down time and we will be having to work all year to come up with more original stuff to shoot. I had a lot of fun running around and doing like 3 jobs and enjoying the con as well. Saw Rocky Horror at the con XD that was one of the best performances I had seen in a while although the last time I saw it the actors looks wise were much better. I helped out my friend Chrislea a while at her table in artist alley....not as much as I thought I would have been able to but at least it was enough for her to get checked in and hit the dealers room for a while. Then Sunday afternoon I helped host the FUNiGIRLS party.....that was A LOT of fun although I still think some of the games and prizes could have been better. We did Engrish music triva, Janken Pyon, 20 questions and some random trivia...that wasn't all that hard but hey were are trying to give as many prizes as possible.....although I think they could have had more and some better prizes we had a lot of keychains and patchs and while those are always nice not everyone likes patches. I met a lot of cool people and hope to hear from them again.

Now for the thing that will take up a lot of room....picture time~!

Let's start off with the awesomly perveted badge I had....that I didn't notice had tentacle rape until the last day right before I went into my panel...lol:

A-Kon TV FTW

Here's what I got from the dealers room:

Kyouya (Ouran High School Host Club)

Ryuk (Death Note)

Shigure (Furuba/Fruits Basket) and Nami (One Piece)

Haruhi (Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuutsu)...you squeeze it and Haruhi yells a line...I can't remember what this thing is called or what is says but you can find these also on J-List

Mikuru and Haruhi (Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuutsu)...I sense a stop motion gag coming

Cast (Death Note)

Death Note (do I really need to put this?)

L (Death Note) it's a flashing keychain and is solar powered....it ROCKS

....I forget what the name for these kinds of hats are but I got it on Sunday for a steal $2 =O

My Uber fan....$20 another steal in the dealers room

[bottom] Moogle (Final Fantasy) and [top] Mikuru and Yuki (Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuutsu) pins

Not pictured are Volume 1 of Princess Princess, Volumes 2&3 of Loveless, a Cactaur plushie that I gave Rinoa, a Death Note clock like the one I have that I gave Chrislea and another Death Note shirt with Near and Mello that I gave my friend Usadari.

You know this year I had $300 as compared to last year when I got $500 to spend although this year I got to eat well and last year I has also saved maybe a hundred for gas and food yet this year I came out with more stuff...although I got a nice amount of swag from FUNimation from helping host their FUNiGIRLS party which did help me in coming back with even more stuff this year.

Here's all I got from FUNimation:

This was the first thing I got and my laniyard(sp?) which was all I was expecting but then my captain pulled out a bunch of other stuff for me and I then decided FUNimation could have my soul again and again...lol

Babbit (Kodocha)

Babbit (Kodocha)

Sayoran (Tsubasa)

Spiral puzzle (Spiral)

Kyo (Fruits Basket)

Not pictured Volumes 2-4 of Yu Yu Hakusho the 2 disc 14 episodes per a volume sets XD So needless to say it is good to volunteer lol

Last Anime Seen: Rumbling Hearts, cute high school anime...very predictable though

That's all for now.....See you on the otherside.

I know, I know I take forever between posts and then give you a wall of text....although last time I was feeling random....and not that talkative and left you with part 3 of my English Final, The Rules of Courtly Love as displayed....and broken in Ouran High School Host Club. Thanks for the comments on it....it was fun, these rules are still somewhat used but more often are broken than applied.

K so let's see what has happened since last post.....I now have a DA account to call my own and fill with pics since now Textamerica says I don't have an account >< oh well DA has been keeping me amused these past few days, and I've become obsessed with beyondinfinity's cosplay I wish I could even take pictures that well.

Had my birthday celebrated twice, first in Las Vegas...didn't really get to see much of Vegas sicne my parents didn't want me more than 50 ft away from them >< but had a lot of fun casino hopping and got to see Phantom of the Opera and KA while we were there. Then the following Saturday had a combined party with a friend of a friend who apparently has the exact same birthday as I do....I never knew anyone even with the same day let alone the same day and year. That was fun although I still have yet to get properly drunk. So far I've only gotten buzzed and that was in Vegas since I wasn't DD.

For the last few weeks I've been trying to prepare for A-Kon and getting everything ready for the new season with my anime club. This summer we are watching:

HunterXHunter (continuing it still)
Uta~Kata
Welcome to the NHK ( )
The Familiar of Zero
Gantz
and Busou Renkin

As far as getting ready for A-Kon I've almost got everything together. I just got the official e-mail the other day from FUNimation that I'm 1st lieutenant in charge of their FUNiGIRLS party Sunday XD and then checked on the listing and my fixed version of Tamaki's Girl has been accepted and met the MRS...or was it MSR....whatever to be in the offical AMV contest....although since I don't really have any experience...or rather not any proof of winning any other competitions I'm in the beginner's competition which still makes me happy to be able to be in it....and then I'm going to be doing A-Kon TV again this year and I'm really really excited to go AN Cafe and MELL are going this year XD I can't wait XD

RealmsCon planning is keeping me buried under a pilar as well....well I mean when I'm working on it and not doing Gaia...or while I'm doing Gaia....I forget how that works...lol...but it looks like we are getting someone new to handle security and he's going to help bring down a couple of more guests....which makes me grin even more than when we got confirmation for Illich (my favorite voice....just about EVER in anime)

Here is our current guest list:

MODELS
-Elektra Knight

COSPLAY GUESTS
-Doppleganger Cosplay

INDUSTRY GUESTS
-Dead Texas
-Demented Dragon

ARTISTS
-Hightower
-James O'Barr
-Larry Elmore
-Stephanie Château
-Amelie Belcher

MUSICAL GUESTS
-Lisa Furukawa
-Akai Sky

VOICE ACTORS
-Chris Patton
-Tiffany Grant
-Samantha Harte
-George Manley
-Wendee Lee
-Illich Guardiola

Alright well now that I've wasted like half an hour of time...lol j/k it's only been like 5 minutes for you. I think I'll end things in the usual way.....LAS

Last Anime Seen: Busou Renkin, I  Papillon

That's all for now.....See you on the otherside.

Part 3 of My English Final Project

So replies to last post...yay I have replies~!

Hikaru: Actually yes your PM was one of the factors that brought me around to finally updating again....I'm so bad about it I know.

Darke: I don't know if I'll be hitting the Harley Davidson Cafe but I most defiantly am staying at the Imperial Hotel and in the very least hitting the Geisha bar there XD

Yeah school has/had been really bringing me down but now all of it ends on May 3rd, I was lucky enough to get my Ethics final moved from the 4th to the 3rd the only even semi problem there is that I'll have to finish my paper and study hard a day earlier and be at A&M all day on the 3rd....and by all day I mean from 11AM to about 4PM, not bad at all if you ask me.

We just finished all our regular series at anime club and we are getting ready for the summer season but first we have Finals Friday to get through and since we technically have an extra week we are doing a movie night this Friday and some of us are planning a trip to SIXX *the gay club in town* XD it's been so long since we've gone to SIXX I wonder if it's still more straight than gay or gone back to it's glory days....I kind of doubt that. Honestly the last time we did go I think my biggest qualm about it was that they had a new DJ who played music for a predominantly straight crowd meaning VERY VERY little if at all any techno T_T

This past Friday was "Cowboy" one of my friend's birthday. To celebrate we all went over to Rinoa's house and had cake and played SC3 XD Button mashing FTW Sadly I hadn't had time or money to get him a proper gift so remembering that he likes Rurouni Kenshin I made him a copy of all the music and scans I have for it and gave him the first 12 episodes of Busou Renkin. He seems to be really happy about it ^^

Other things that happened this weekend......um.....well not much of anything really. Saturday I spent most of the day watching movies to see if they would hold up for our movie night at anime club and after the first two movies or so I decided I'd check out what was available in town....I was severely disappointed although that was mainly because when I did find a movie that looked really interesting I found out it was only 30 minutes long. Also there were two other titles I was debating over...or rather trying to remember which was which.

Sunday I spent the first part of the day just kicking back playing cards and fishing on Gaia. Then I got down to work on some of my submissions for the Kyouya Ootori Faction contests that I had entered. This round the theme is "Mommy and Daddy Style" or KyouyaXTamaki. A fan girls dream I know. So I worked on doing a decent fic and trying to do some really good fan art since last time I did hand drawn and it came out really bad because I was trying to go with the title they actually used which was "The Scholarly Couple" although I pwned at the AMV contest that round.

This round the only competition so far is still in the AMV contest which I need to get around to working on it.....ah finals and projects are just piling up this week....not to mention the A-Kon AMV deadline is Tuesday so if I want to enter Tamaki's Girl I better hurry up and tighten it already.

Here is the fan art submission
Mommy And Daddy Style

Hosted By theOtaku.com.

I might post a link to the fan fic later.....I'm just a bit embarrassed by it, it's the first somewhat semi-decent *not really perverted* thing I've written in ages and that's just because Chase *leader of the Faction and head of the contests* wants it to be at maximum PG-13.

In other news today I was finally thinking of breaking down and starting up my own DA account. So I go through the joining pages, even read the TOS and guidelines before I submit all my information and I come to find out that my IP is banned WTF. I mean seriously how did that happen? So I guess I'll just continue to show TheO all my art skills....minus photography that is....those go to textamerica since TheO doesn't have a full photography section....only cosplay right now.

Ok I've been up way too long now so I'm gonna try and get some rest. I hope ya'll have a good week ^_^

Last Anime Seen: Jin-Roh....if that was seriously the Japanese version of Little Red Riding Hood I don't think I'll ever read LRRH to my children. "Mother there is a cat saying I'm eating your flesh"

That's all for now.....See you on the otherside.
