Sorry I've been neglecting this blog. One of my New Year's resolutions is to use facebook less and actually keep some sort of journal....online or paper =0

So let's see where did we leave off....oh yes

October is kind of a blur. We started off the month with a whirlwind weekend....a bonfire, doing one day of RealmsCon since the hotel that they were at this year...and last year is rather small and there really wasn't much to do/see, then it was off to Austin to round out the weekend with the final day of ACL (Austin City Limits) where I saw Toadies, Dead Weather (Jack White's new band) and Pearl Jam...yeah it was pretty damn awesome! Only regret is making it there just in time to see Toadies....if I would've gotten there two hours earlier like I was planning I could've seen Clutch TT__TT The following week I was sick...probably something I caught while at the con or ACL. Then it was off to Louisiana to do a bit of gambling and to celebrate my mother's birthday. We had a pretty good time...especially at the casino that I usually do really bad in...I did kinda good but my mom also joked it was because everything aligned for me to hear or see ads for the Toadies show that was happening there on the 30th...which I really wanted to go to that show but I did get to one up it because on the 30th I went to Duane's show "A Lie of the Mind" hang out with him a bit afterwards....stay with Quin. Took Quin and her little sister Brenna to Tulsa for the Halloween show with Toadies, Lions and Descender...sadly due to bad directions and the GPS not being able to locate the fairly new event center...but we did make it in less than a quarter of the way into Lions...which rocked. They even played "Girl from the North Country" there weren't too many people there during the entire show which was cool in being able to hang out with band members but sucked since it was a killer lineup.

November started off pretty cool....really funny actually but I'm sure I'd be in trouble with someone who doesn't read this blog but would find it because I wrote about them...anyways. Did two nights in Austin for Voltaire and Lions....not staying in Austin either night D'OH! Got signed both nights...did both film and digital pictures both nights and when we were saying our goodbyes to Lions we couldn't find Mikey (bass player) so I jokingly told Saffron next time I saw him I'd lick his face...sure enough we see him outside on the way to the car so I give him a hug say goodbye until December and got him...I think he might have thought I was going in for a kiss or to whisper something to him....nope *LICK~!* The rest of November was spent in the darkroom, hanging out with friends and making friends at our favorite bar.

December's been pretty laid back. We were going to spend the first weekend up in Austin for Monkey's birthday...well I was going to spend the first night of the weekend up in Helotes (just north of San Antonio) with the Toadies and meet everyone else up in Austin but due to freezing weather the show got moved and when the weather changed down here I ended up getting a bit sick but thankfully for me they moved the show to Sunday (I was better by Friday night...the weather had changed Wednesday), Saffron and the boys partied while I was stuck at home. Sunday went up to Heltoes...well first a Guitar Center in San Antonio to see Toadies do a quick in-store appearance which kinda cool they raffled off a guitar they signed and then some tickets were given away to the show...but the reason they were brought in was to show off this spiffy new Gibson Dusk TIger guitar. Oringally they were told to go out and play riffs so they did....little did the workers/promoter know they would come out and play short riffs from classic rock songs....I mean seriously it's the Toadies...that's one of the things they do! After a few riffs they were told just to play one of their songs and call it done so they did "I Come from the Water." Then it was off to Josabi's for the actual show. I secured a front row position a little more in the center than I usually do but it was a smaller stage...oh did I mention it was outdoors...SO GLAD THEY CHANGED THE DATE! The rest of December has been as much time in photography class/darkroom as possible. We did our final on the 14th and that is always cool....but you really can't beat the mix of pizza, beer and awesome photos. Lately I've been just getting prepaired for Christmas. I've wrapped something like a hundred presents...seriously....which is pretty damn cool except I had to be covered in glitter all this week DX Hope you are keeping warm...weather's been kinda crazy over here the past few days hot as a summer day then rain and freezing cold....ah winter in South Texas...how I love it.

List of events I'm looking forward to:

Long time no post. It's not that I've been avoiding TheO or the internet but no means is this true....it's just I've falled vitcim to Twittering...a lot and often updating my Facebook. Warning while this post tries to be brief there is a bit of fangasming and a lot about concerts.

June provided a bit of fun with two really great concerts from Reely Rotnz and Lions. Went to the Rotnz show with Bunny....took a ton of pics, rocked out....got my first broken drumstick AND got it signed, drank with everyone haha. Next day they ended up asking me the next day for them...I felt so awesome XD Following week went up to Austin to hit the Lions show with Monkey....ended up running into Duane there  I mean I knew that he was a long time friend of Tony, one of the guys in Record Hop, but still it was great to see him and met his friend Maggie that night *although I wouldn't remember that until MUCH later* another night of taking a ton of pics, rocking out, drinking....got my first setlist from Lions...did a bit of fangirling and generally being silly but it's 6th street and me so Xp I was planning on hitting up another Lions/Here Holy Spain show the following week but I ended up not having anyone to go up with and a bit of car troubles =[ Oh but the night before that show was set to happen I did make another local show where the crowd was sadly small and the bands awesomeness was wasted on the few douchebags that were there pretending to be cool.

July started off with a bang! Went up to Austin for Saffron's birthday...slash 4th of July. I was called the Willy Wonka of 6th Street that night due to my pimping purple top hat. I also paid tribute to Micheal Jackson with killer dancing to Billie Jean and Smooth Criminal XD We found a new bar that we really liked and a few that we won't be going back to. Saw fireworks shooting over the lake and met some of the nicest coolest people...I also got requested for a few pics X3 Then July kinda dwindled down into a lonely spiral of home time. That all ended when I went to see the Judas Priest/Whitesnake concert. That was pretty epic! No real fun stories here but one hell of a show I tell you what.

August was full of trips not being in town. Went up to Austin to see the Ida Maria/Glasvegas show...met Ida Maria she's so fucking awesome...met some more wicked cool Austinites. Did the Dylan/Nelson/Mellencamp show in town...TONS of fun! Poor John was seriously sick so he ended his set by bringing up a random guy my age from the crowd that had been singing all night to sing "Hurt So Good" which John even stated is a song they haven't done live in a LONG time. Went to Louisiana to gamble with my family....slash celebrate my father's birthday. Went to San Antonio to attend San Japan OMG my first con as a con goer NOT as a worker. It's waaaaay different on the otherside...they did well to plan as much as they could for the space they had but really in the end I was quite bored with con stuff and as usual tried to find entertainment in other places. Oh and night one I had already planned to go out of the con to see Quiet Company...I was really happy to see them again! I only wished I could've had someone go with me!...even though I went to the con with Chrislea she doesn't do live concerts AT ALL....and I was supposed to meet someone up there but he never showed up =[ Following weekend went up to Austin again *I really have been trying to make at least a monthly visit up there LOL* to see Lions before they went back into the studio...slash after they came back from touring the midwest....slash for their music video shoot. That's right I'm gonna be in another video for a band from Austin LOL. KILLER TIME it was! Quin and her little sister came down from Fort Worth it was great to see them! Basically copypasta the last Lions concert only add more chaos, drinking and me fangirl screaming. The next weekend was the second annual Dia de los Toadies *FANGASM* This time it was only Saffron and I that went up there but we had a BLAST. Great bands, Mariachis to play between sets, good people and did I mention Great bands! HAHA! Quin after much debating joined up with us a little into the Toadies set and hung out with us after the show...she also scored me a setlist from the soundboards THANKS again Quin and Edo! Started school...it's going alright so far I think.

September....went up to Dallas for the last trip anywhere that I've taken in a while now. Went to celebrate Vaden Todd Lewis' (lead singer/songwriter for Toadies/Burden Brothers...slash all around badass) and see Tendril and Here Holy Spain. Surprised the hell out of Duane...which meant my mission was accomplished....he nearly glomped me when I first said hi to him XD That was another KILLER NIGHT....for all the fun we had. Hung out with everyone that night mostly Quin and Duane. Met Maggie again and remembered her after a bit of fangasming about...trailers j/k....a little. Met a lot of kickass people some for the first time some for the *insertnumberhere* time since they're always drunk or it's been a long time since I'd met them origianlly. Made my trip up to Austin to see Motorhead and Reverend Horton Heat. Saffron and I misjudged the time it would take to get there so we missed Nashville Pussy but hey at least we made it for the main show. Which was AWESOME! Ended up getting a sweet spot in a patio area near the stage. I got a few pics since we weren't close enough to get really good ones but in that few there are some good ones. After the show hit up 6th street for a bit of drinking. Other than that it's been school and random hanging out with friends in town.

Ok finally out of my post A-Kon coma..well it's more like me just moping around the house and catching up on my sleep but anyways back and it's well past time to update.

Nothing really too huge to report here. On the 23rd I went to a wedding for two of my friends. It was nice to see a lot of the group again and I was really glad they were surprised and happy to see me. During the reception Bunny and I were sneaking some rum....halfway through the reception they changed to a rave....that was awesome!

Spent Memorial Day on the road. We went up to Austin to help move our friend Monkey back down to Corpus. While on our way back we all got this craving for pizza so we tried to find the Chicago Pizzeria...which we had found after we got lost after the Voltaire concert. Monkey has a smart phone so the boys thankfully found it before it closed and ordered us up a couple of pies YUM! Afterwords Saffron was sure we had to go back the way we got lost and I said to turn around to get back on the road home so because of her directions this time around we ended up in Del Rio and in another storm =(

This past weekend went up Dallas with Chrislea this time for A-Kon! Thankfully no storms this time lol. I had a blast at the con. Seriously shortly after I arrived in the A-KonTV room they offered me Venom *a multishot drink* I  my crew! Once again it seems we did little recording later in the weekend but we did catch some fun stuff early on. I even got to "sneak" into the concerts and film. I say "sneak" since the past two years or so we've been letting the Art Institute of Dallas take over recording all the main programming stuff like concerts and cosplay for us...which is cool since they have better equipment and more people to get more angles and they even get class credit for doing this. I wish I could get class credit for filming the con. Anyways so because I am made of so much awesome and win the like press director actually let me *ONLY ME* into the press pit area to film. Sliding around on my knees to get awesome shots....lots of fun! Then later Clu and I went down and interviewed/filmed people before the rave and during we were doing this whole commentary thing from one of the side stages built for filming. Lots and lots of drinking later it's Sunday afternoon and we make one last trip to the dealer's room. I got a few good deals ended up spending a little more than I wanted to but in the end I'm happy with most everything I came home with...the only things I'm not happy with are some random grab bag items that weren't even on that dealer's table =(

Monday night I thought I was going to just hang out with Triball and the people that live at his place but it turned out that it was Ross' birthday so we had a little party with the usual gaming group with was pretty cool...Saffron and Joel also joined up for a while until Bear showed up and Saffron hid in the other room since Joel didn't want her to leave. Overall though we had a good time.

Tuesday night went to hang out with Clare over at the restaurant that we all used to frequent. It was nice to catch up with her. Turns out she is wanting to help with RealmsCon this year but not run it...I told her if she does I'll be on her crew...and that would be only way I would volunteer. I still do not want to be associated with the CEO but I loves me some Clare and VAs that'll be there LOL. IF I do end up going I'll also be able to get James O'Barr to sign my copy of Manic =D

So that's pretty much the run down of what's been happening with me.

Sorry it's been a while...just catching my breath from the epic week of concerts....week and a half...even though I've been on facebook continuously for days now

So let's see where we left off....I'll try not to fangasm or go too much into detail with each concert. We ended up skipping Paul Sutherland again =( but because we did we went up to Austin that night and got set up to play around before going to sound check and the Toadies concert...which that was pretty cool. Finally got to see The Boom Boom Box they totally kickass and The Willowz which I just found out today that two of their songs were featured in the Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind soundtrack...seriously guys I'm finding out that my world/all my fandoms are starting to swirl around Toadies and one of their roadie extraordinaire Duane Deering....more on him in a bit. Next morning drove back home to Corpus napped a bit and geared up for another Toadies concert with another sound check entry. The second sound check was much more easy going started off with a jam session which was really cool. Reely Rotnz opened up the show with a can of whoopass...seriously got everyone going. Willowz kept the energy high...much more rock set this night. Then Toadies came out and blew everyone away....I love Corpus shows...not only is it great set wise we get a lot of Toadies/roadie games played and roadie characters come out =3 While exiting the venue we were given comp tickets to a show later in the week.

Had a very drunken BBQ for Mother's Day...which was also my gift to my mom she was mostly happy...my brother was being a special breed of douchebag...it's sad but has become expected of him at this point to try and ruin any sort of festivity or merriment.

Saw Nightwish....I'm not fond of new Nightwish but live was pretty good. Volbeat opened for them and they totally rocked my face off....I shook hands with the lead singer and told him they were totally kick ass and got their setlist X3 Next night went out to Brewster St. to see the band we were given comp tickets to...40 oz. to Freedom they are a Sublime tribute band the first that I'd see in a week's time but by far the better one...partially due to how they ordered their set and partially because they are nuts. I would've paid the ticket price had I seen them before. Following night saw Matt from Vertical Horizon doing a solo acoustic act...that was pretty neat but I was a bit let down since the show was promoted as Vertical Horizon full band not solo acoustic set from our singer/songwriter. No offense meant...I seriously had a good time and got a pic with him.

Did the final anime club...possibly ever for me. We watched Detroit Metal City, Ultimate Girls and the HunterXHunter Musical that sort of takes place during the series. Half...or rather two of the people in the room had no idea of the series so were a bit lost but Chrislea and I tried to answer all questions quickly and sing-a-long with some of our favorite very wrong songs. We did a bunch of drawing contests my favorite rounds were Batman and cuddly zombies. It might be my last anime club session since we don't have the members to really start up again next semester and as it is I'm barely getting to go back in Fall...plus I've already made promises to two very important female figures in my life that I wouldn't run it anymore...although I am more than willing to help/attend....not that anyone is coming back in the Fall...and we aren't even doing a Summer session this year since everyone's pretty much left or leaving soon.

Drove up to Dallas to see Tonic, Badfish *the other Sublime tribute band* and Toadies *I know third time in like a week* Got caught in a huge storm from San Antonio to Austin *about an hour to hour and a half apart when going normal highway speeds* so we made it up to the festival area *did I mention it was a festival?* at about 6:30 which meant we had a little time to find the stage *which thankfully all three were on the same stage* and get set up front row =3 Tonic was really cool...I'm glad I finally got to see them although I was a bit bothered by the /b/tards that were only watching the other bands to secure their position for Toadies...don't get me wrong I'd do the same but they were being rude during the other bands' sets. Badfish was pretty good their set however could've been better planned out...I mean seriously they put all the huge Sublime songs for the end...that's just bad planning. Toadies were awesome yet again. It was so cute Vaden's little girl Ruby was there hiding in the back of the stage with some of her little friends with ear protectors on. Vaden carried her out when he first came up to his mic....and she ran out and gave him a big hug like three songs in....my favorite moment of this is after their set Ruby and her friends come out to pretty much climb on Vaden as he's exiting XD I would've had the perfect pic of it if some random girl wouldn't have shoved me right as I was taking the pic =(

The rest of this time I've just been looking up music and watching movies. OH which reminds me...the other day I was looking up Tendril music...which Tendril is Duane's band. Turns out they were featured on Dragonball Z Movie 8 Broly: the Legendary Super Saiyan....BEFORE Duane started working with FUNi. There were other things that he connected that I'm a fan of but I can't remember at this point....either too much or not enough sleep....needless to say I've told him I'm officially his fangirl now LOL. So with that let's wrap this up in the normal fashion.

Happy Birthday to me~!

Let's continue with this almost weekly posting gig =o

So Saturday did some more lab hours in and then headed out to Buc Days got there around 9:30 which meant we were just in time to see Reely Rotnz...local punk band...really awesome ended up getting a copy of their EP and Joel even got a free shirt. Ended up wearing his hat that he found and got signed at two differnt Toadies shows so I was decked out in Toadies gear HA. Then Sponge came on....which was totally awesome! I seriously thank Kevin Smith for using "Have you seen Mary" all those years ago in Chasing Amy. I thank him because during this song at the Sponge concert Vinny *lead singer* said I was awesome....he kept serenading me all night and I got to dance with him during "Planet Girl"...also had him and the other guitarists to sign my copy of their new album Galore Galore after the show.

Found two concert tops on cinco de mayo/children's day...went to an actual clothing store on a whim and was thrilled to find 'em X3 Then we did a mini celebration which was basically mexican cookies and Dos Equis.

Did my family dinner/celebration early since I was bummed out about not getting to do lab hours on Thursday...and we didn't have any other plans for dinner tonight (Wednesday). Had family style dinning at Kikos which is a ton of fajitas, carne guisada, tacos, enchiladas, beans, rice, guacamole and pico de gallo...mom and I also did a bit of drinking YAY! Then went to Best Buy to try and find something for a present for me...but since my parents didn't want to go I went and scoped out some items but I'm not really impressed by anything I saw in the price range they told me which was under $50 since they're giving me money for this weekend and already bought me tickets for both shows.

That's pretty much been it so far....tonight we start the party off at HoR with Paul Sutherland yum...lolwhut?...I mean WOOT

Cake was awesome...little disappointed by the venue although that was mostly because I couldn't take in my camera =( Stood in like the third row on the usual right side of the stage. Shocked they didn't play "The Distance" although they also were playing just anything they felt like playing even though the crowd was shouting out for some classic stuffs.

Saw L: Change the WorLd on subtitle night…..which was Wednesday. Nothing like seeing a movie about a hybrid virus with no cure….wait….seriously though I saw some scared faces when we exited the theater…L will be missed but hey new story on how Near came to Whammy’s….and ANGEL CREPE~!

Blew everyone away at my photo critique last night. If I would’ve made it into the room earlier I wouldn’t have gone last and all by my lonesome but everyone was so surprised with what I was able to capture that it was alright. My prof even commented how much my prints have improved just from the last crit…which was like two…three weeks ago. School is almost over and I’m going nuts I don’t think I’ll have enough time in the darkroom on Saturday since I want to make it out in time to catch the Sponge concert thankfully I only need four more prints and two of them are practically done already….I actually just need to reprint them ~.~

Missed out on last night's Paul Sutherland show since Saffron didn't know he was the headliner and I didn't get out of class until 9 she was all like what's the point of going if he's already played and went to the park with her mom instead =/ Oh well he's playing on my birthday anyway =p

Let's try something a bit different this time around and go from the last things I wanted to share.

Hit two Toadies shows in the span of a week's time had a blast at both shows....finally got pictures with VTL and Clark <3~! Got lots of hugs from Lions and Here Holy Spain at the College Station Show. Saw Voltaire that was awesome! Voltaire nommed my camera during "When You're Evil" and sadly the most awesomest picture of his tonsils did not come out....darn.....all film that show WOOT got mad props from the band when they found out Xd

I’ve been feeling a bit down lately…maybe it was just the unexpected visit from my cousins…I think I’ll go out to the Chapman Ranch area again in the next day or two…whenever the sky isn’t flat again >.> and try a last attempt for some of my favorite images this semester if nothing else I’ll end up going to the Botanical Gardens to make a floral series…portfolio is due in like two weeks DEAR GOD!

Just spent the last five hours developing film….looking at the negatives I think I’m a bit disappointed the first shots of googles guy didn’t come out but I am thrilled at some of the motion blur that I got from the actual concert sets….the later fan stuff is pretty cool in its own right too…and is possibly the only time I’ll ever get to photograph Saffron again soooo I’m glad that those pictures seemed to turn out well =3

For lack of using the copy pasta function and not wanting to bore you with all the daily boredom I deal with I haven't posted anything from my daily bloggings....that I also slack off with. Here are some highlights.

02/21/09 Saturday Did some printing at the university just now trying out some filters...and really starting my adventure into the darkroom.....so scary! Then hit up a semi-new bar with Saffron and Joel, it's called "Fire on Water" Saffron kept calling it "Smoke on the Water" LOL....anyways we hit is up since it was $2 anything night...all I can say to that is WOOT! Seriously anything we got quite toasted played some pinball out there listened to a good mix of music. Anyways after that we headed out to the beach since there was a bonfire happening *we just got the call to late to buy a bottle of booze so we got smashed at the bar....except Joel so he could drive and since he could still buy beer well into the night* after a long way out made it to the bonfire. I did some fire twirling and then as the night progressed I started to make it fire tossing since I couldn't twirl the stick anymore =( /fail.

02/22/09 Sunday Crawled into a freezing bed after the beach trip...and sleeping a bit in my car.....which I think my car was seriously warmer. Watched the Oscar's on a small tv in my parents' room since my mom wanted to drink with my aunt and so my uncle could watch whatever he wanted to in Spanish. I was all like "but, but....it's the Oscars!" Anyway....most of my predictions were correct although I hadn't seen a few of the big winners yet...like "Slumdog Millionaire" I was predicting a few wins for them but not the eight they won although I gotta say the music was killer for the movie score and songs. [rest of Oscar rambleings omitted]

02/23/09 Monday Went to the movies with Saffron saw "Mall Cop" very predictable but cute and funny all the same. Lochness monster as a tramp stamp gotta say awesome and frightening. Also ended up at the little carnival that they had going next to the theater. Played the coin pusher until we were out of money...almost had two very cheap but wrong lighters LOL.

02/24/09 Tuesday Finally figured out where I went wrong in the Gintama DS Game

02/26/09 Thursday Happy Birthday Johnny Cash. Celebrated what would be his 77th birthday at Brewster St. Ice House with Neal Edwards, Paul Sutherland and the Bastard Sons of Johnny Cash. Originally Matt Hole and the Hot Rod Gang were supposed to play this night as well but for some reason they weren't in the line up =( Anyways first time being at this venue which is a smaller version of the Gruene Hall and I have to say if it wasn't for the good music I wouldn't have chosen this location. Each band pulled out a cover of one of Cash's hit songs. Neal did "I Still Miss Someone"...ok maybe not a huge hit but certainly a heartful rendition of this song. Paul pulled out "Folsom Prison Blues" and because I was feeling quite happy and being silly when the line "I'm stuck in Folsom Prison" came up I looked over at Saffron and sang "I'm stuck in Corpus Christi" we busted out laughing so hard. Bastard Sons also did Folsom Prison Blues but it was much closer to the original than Paul's version. They also pulled out "I Walk the Line" and a few others did a cover of Elvis' "That's Alrgiht" and did some original songs that were cool. After the show we all *Saffron, Joel, Bunny and myself* talked with a few of the members mainly the singer/lead guitarist. I drunkenly told him that it was a damn good show and talked a bit about Cash then before he went back to the merch booth he pointed at my pick necklace that was quite nicely placed right above my cleavage....and was all like "That's nice what is it" *blonde for a sec* "Oh it's a pick from the Toadies" Seriously since I got the necklace holder I've been wearing it every day....nearly everyday.

02/27/09 Friday Made anime club draw pr0n for prizes....lol

02/28/09 Saturday Printed a few pieces *last minute* for the upcoming critique. Afterwards we took Pheonix out to celebrate his 21st birhtday. Poor boy shouldn't have tried conning to alcoholics. He kept claiming to be sober....we planned to get him smashed....so with every lie he had to down another glass. Thank the drunks for $2 you call it. I will say though he surprised me in that he knocked back a double shot of Tequila *I hate the stuff* and Wild Turkey on his first outing. A few drinks later he was crying, apologizing and throwing up quite profusely....Mission Accomplished. Saffron played driver for me since I kept going well after Victoria took the birthday boy home.

03/03/09 Tuesday Did the critique while still feeling crappy. It went pretty well....better than I had expected. Greg *teacher* didn't make too many comments about it just that I should try doing more afternoon/night shots since I seem to always go out on overcast mornings but that I still had some really good pieces from it.

03/06/09 Friday Made plans for my birthday...that'll be listed later. No anime club tonight for me. Headed up to Austin with Joel and Saffron met up with Monkey and went to a place literally named "Hole in the Wall" and finally after six months of trying to catch one of their shows saw "THe BAcksliders" after the show I got all of them to sign their 7" single and talked a while with singer about trying to see them originally at Dia de los Toadies and a bit on music in general...she's really cool I hope they come closer more often. No offense to those up in like Dallas but unless it's something big I can't really afford to drive up there. Austin I can manage.

03/09/09 Monday Started up a Twitter....I know because I really need more social networking/stalkerish things. My username there is ookumae.

03/11/09 Wednesday Went to House of Rock for the Sweet Daddy/Riverboat Gamblers concert. It was actually a better turn out than I expected tickets were a bit steep but I really wanted to hear Sweet Daddy again....they only play like once a year...and I figured I'd get some good shots of the Riverboat Gamblers. They're vocalist is still crazy as all Hell. Seriously at one point he's climbing the double stacked speakers into a crawl space that is barely there speakers shaking the entire time....which I happen to be right by considering if it's worth the shot I could get if the speaker fell on me...thankfully it didn't fall. Jumps down into the crowd then back to the table where my buddies are sitting sings a ballad to one of the guys LOL and then slides into the chair I originally was sitting in and breaks the handle WOOT. There was more stuff but that was the more lively stuff. I ended up using like four rolls of film and when I was set to put my film camera away I notice he's behind me I toss one of my buddies my film camera and pull out my digital in time for more fun Xd.

03/13/09 Friday Headed out to SA for the Lions concert only to find out the venue had a fire the night before and was shut down until further notice...tried messaging the band through Twitter and failed since Austin has an underscore in his username...and my phone doesn't =[ Ended up in Universal City at a cowboy bar called Billy D's listening to a cover band with the most random awesome setlist ever.

03/17/09 Tuesday St. Paddy's Day~! Original plans were to hit up the pre-SXSW show at Trophy's in Austin but then it became the pub crawl in town but what ended up happening was we all went and donated plasma and crashed out at Joel's.....exciting I know......WAIT I almost forgot Joel and I went to see Watchmen. Not quite what I was expecting on the sole basis of previews but still a very good long flick.

03/18/09 Wednesday Again planned to head up to Austin this time for two seperate SXSW shows one for Black Gasoline the other for Lions...but right after I picked up Joel my car decided to die on me. I was thinking it was the battery and the alternator but thankfully it was just the battery....which still to my disappointment meant we could have at least seen Lions but we decided to stay in town and blow the traveling money on good food and minigolfing...which that was pretty enjoyable. Also Nerf'd it up with Joe.

03/21/09 Saturday Went to House of Rock with Bunny and Saffron we went not sure of what to expect since a few of the bands were members of the Avenue Rockers Bunny thought Punk show....awesome. I was expecting a mix of rockabilly. Saffron just wanted a show. We ended up at this Country/Rockabilly show very enjoyable none the less. Hung out a bit with one of the guys from Whitney Morgan.

03/22/09 Sunday Saffron and I made a last minute decision to go up to San Antonio on Sunday....OK we debated heavily over going up since I had spent more in this week than planned...since I didn't hear about this show until Friday night. Then we decided I had wanted to see Peelander-Z for longer than it would take to get the funding for the other stuffs that money would go to so we hopped in the truck and took off to Sam's Burger Joint. The only band I had heard previously was Peelander-Z and I gotta say I'm still very happy with most of my decisions that day....I only wished that I would have recharged the batteries that were in the camera from when we went minigolfing so I could have gotten more pictures. After getting only somewhat lost...thanks to my great sense of misdirection. We pulled up to Sam's Burger Joint a bit after doors opened not a bad start. Grabbed up one table in front of the "pit" but then stole what was the perfect table for watching the stage and the crowd. I wanted pictures I kept moving between the table and stage. First band was The Birthday Suits....pretty cool...at first I was into the shredding but in retrospect its just another "new" band...in the sense I mean their music is all about how many crazy riffs they could do.....to quote a tweet I read a few days back "[It was] like eating Adderall with a really talented four year old." Got a few nice pics out of it and two vids. Ran into Rebeca at the bar was not expecting to see her of all people but it was nice to catch up a bit. Next up Quaff....first off I totally misheard the minor who told me their name ROFLMAO! They turned out to be really awesome. Hailing from TenjouKai "Heaven's Paradise" their masked MC kept the beats flowing while their Earth singer and band laid out a groovin' melody that kept the crowd entranced. Quaff really made me forget and not care about all the cool shows I had missed out on over Spring Break. Also they mentioned how Zone-00 is coming out this month WICKED cool manga that sadly only had one chapter scanlated but even off that you can see how it really is collectible worthy. Quaff ended their set with a cover of Micheal Jackon's "Beat It," I have to say they really won me over during their set...Saffron too! That hardly ever happens!! We ended up buying their two latest CDs a bit off-chance really since I pointed at two CDs semi-randomly but one was titled a song we heard so I was sure it'd be fine....turned out for the best. Also snagged a pic with one of the guitarists.....off the last little juice left in the camera (after the whole show). Next up was The Emeralds. They reminded me a bit of The Pillows only less Funk in their style. The crowd was all over them I enjoyed it but for the progression of energy I was brought down I would have put them before Quaff possibly even before The Birthday Suits. Finally was Peelander-Z which there was a great show but not really too much on the music side but still very entertaining. When they first started playing Peelander Red came out with a giant squid costume at one point memebers of the crowd were hitting strings for him....I only missed because when the bass was swung my way I was hit by it....no worries it's hard to see out of a squid LOL. They started off the "official" set with "Mad Tiger." For "Karaoke Party" one of the guiarists for Quaff and the bassist for The Emeralds came up and sang. There was mass Limbo and a bit of Peelander bowling. One song member of the audience were given what seemed to be metal dog bowls and drumsticks to play what can only be described as "more cowbell." Lots of randomness in general. For the last "official" set song "Bassist Needed" members of every band came up and started either playing a random instrument or prop. Mass sing-a-long to "We are the Champions" and Para Para-ish dancing to Happee P. Ended up not getting P/Z stuff since I knew I could get their merch online and I was more interested in Quaff at that point...which was good since they seem to only sell at live shows.

03/28/09 Saturday Got to the university around 3...managed to get four really good fiber prints in...and if I would have shown up earlier and possibly have gotten any enlarger other than the color head *which threw me for a good hour or two* I might have been able to get the full five prints...oh well I at least know what I need for the next lab date.

03/29/09 Sunday Slept in and worked on almost all the pictures from the last Lions concert I was at...in January....^^; I'm done with the set it's just almost all the pictures since there were a few I was more happy with as B&W photos....I didn't care for most of the color shots since the bar they played at insisted on having only red lights up the entire show =(

Sorry that was probably the longest post I've done in a LONG time....here's a cookie...fresh from the store...HA

For once in probably a long time a post that's not completely about music. Although most things will be broken into weekend memories.

Superbowl weekend was pretty awesome the Friday before we did a little bonfire and almost got stuck out on the beach because high tide was coming in sooner than we thought. Spent most of Saturday in bed cuddling with Saffron and Joel. None of us had done a cuddle puddle in a long while. Then on Super Bowl Sunday we had a little bar-b-que and that was cool. Commercials this year were a bit lacking but the half time show was awesome if for nothing else the crotch ram of "The Boss"

On the weekend of the 6th we were planning on hitting up Ikkicon but a few days before Bear ended up having what we can only figure to be an anxiety attack, so we hit up Austin to visit an old friend and drink ourselves silly. We hit the second goal quite quickly then again I messed up in not buying the regular poison before leaving town so we tried a harder version of Wild Turkey without any mixer the first night. Next night did some bar hoping on 6th street and I was sad to find out that the Vandels were playing AT Emo's that night but we'd already missed like half their set. Sunday and Monday it was a lot of hanging out and drinking and movies and news watching....LOL.

Last weekend...Valentine's weekend aka Friday 13th weekend. Friday did club as usual OH wait~!! Thursday night ended up driving around Texas with Saffron and Joel because we all wanted to get out. Originally we were headed to La Grange because Saffron and I had been wanting to check it out for some time now and we had planned that to be our next road trip. I can be horrible with directions so at one point it was a question of going East or North and I chose North.....should have gone East.....further East then North. Anyways ended up later....much later...in Boerne. Cute little German town. We hit up a park we saw that was mostly closed parked a bit...and then we quickly greeted by the local police. "So is there a lot of meth in Corpus?" This still makes me laugh. The cops were hoping to bust us for something but luckily none of us have any warrants nor do any of us have a good working knowledge of any kind of drug trafficking around our area. Came back early Friday morning passed out....slept during a good chunk of club then went out to eat with Bear and Bunny to kinda celebrate Bear's birthday although if I knew how much of a bastard he was being before I showed up I doubt I would have paid for him.....seriously he was blaming me for problems I can't help....among other things. Saturday hung out with Saffron and Joel then Julie and Big Joe for a while. Sunday celebrated half off chocolate day...lol.

Got sick the other day that was bad it happened a few hours after coming back from Alice where I took some nice B&W pics of the Church and some stuff downtown here. After about a day and half in bed my fever broke and I forced myself to go to classes...those seem to be going well. Started doing enlargements DX I'm so scared that my work is all crap. Was supposed to do some more lab time today but I'll have more time tomorrow.

On a personal/love life note nothing seems to be going on here really. I've finally given up on my ex...which is good. The other day *weeks ago* I ended up making this great mixed CD which kinda went through our relationship and funny enough Bunny heard part of it and wanted a copy so I changed out like three or four songs and it really became something that just hits me. It honestly could make me cry before the CD is over. I titled it "Breaking the Girl" he laughed...I wonder if he's even heard it yet...probably not.

I think that about covers this month....so far....I'll try to update more ^^;

Monthly post time...what? Sorry seriously I've been meaning to post more often. I'll try not to make this too long of a post but in all honestly it'll probably be mostly about music.

So let's talk briefly about the end of the year.

Went up to San Antonio with Bunny and Saffron to see Toadies, ended up getting VERY lost and making it just in time to secure a decent spot ended up in the second row midway through the thrid song. Took lots of pics as usual and had the attention of Clark *guitarist* most of the show WOOT! Saffron jokes that one day he'll be all like "hey tits how y'all doing tonight?" Snagged a pic with Doni *bassist* and Rez *drummer* shook hands with VTL *singer* I was a bit sad I didn't get to get a pic with Clark.....but

New Year's Eve went up alone to Ft. Worth to catch their NYE show with Lions, Boom Boom Revolution and Tendril. Ended up VERY VERY VERY lost in the last ten minutes or so of travel. That was kinda cool though since the little area I kept passing started doing fireworks around 9....it shook my car, I freaked out when they first started doing them. Ended up missing BBR and Tendril TT__TT made it just in time to see the second half of the Lions set. Toadies rocked the house. Right around midnight Toadies stopped playing all the bands came out and we all rang in the New Year. Highlights of that part were getting a blower/noise maker that bounced from one side of the crowd right into my tits *LOLWOOT*, getting sprayed with silly string, beer and champagne, and getting a hug from a drunk Clark *spaz*

Started up the year with a quick trip to Austin since Saffron needed a table and IKEA was her dealer of choice.

Had another bonfire this time with Christmas trees....one of which was painted pink. It was kinda awesome...were so making this a tradition....Christmas tree bonfires that is.

Lions came down to Corpus and while the crowd was small they rocked the House. Actually we used this concert also to celebrate Bunny's birthday. We got him wasted mostly on my bill....I also was going drink for drink with him until I ran out of drinking money. Took tons of pics of Lions which you may already have seen if you've seen my DA recently.

Hung out off and on with some old friends from high school.

Started up classes again at A&M. This semester I'm taking Printmaking I, Ceramics I and Intermediate Photography. I'm really excited for this semester but I'll end up living there if I'm not smart about time management this semester.

Played lots of pool.....

Saturday went up to Austin again this time for another Lions concert. Found two new bands that are really cool. One called PJ and the Bear. Ended up taking a pic with the drummer who was wearing a bear suit that night and picked up their CD...which they just released WOOT. Don't really know how to explain their music....old school rock N' roll with a bit of punk rock...maybe. One of their songs "Back to Me" I swear the melody is that of "Earth Angel" anyways they're really fun. Scorpion Child was up next. My friend Joel said they reminded him of Led Zepplin....I could totally see them covering Zep. Inbetween sets we ended up talking to different members of Lions. Talked to Mikey *new member/bassist =p* it was cute he was all like "where's your jacket aren't you cold" to which I pointed out we were at a concert. I ran around in a summer top and jeans I wanted to be comfortable and I didn't get cold or at least didn't realize it until we had long left the concert. Anyways later we ran into Austin *guitarist* and talked a bit about the new stuff/recording and since the Corpus show was mentioned I asked if he'd seen the pictures I posted on teh myspace and what he thought of them. He told me that he actually saved a few to his computer and that I needed to send my info to them so they could put them on their page. I blushed...I never got a reaction like that to my pictures. Told him Happy Birthday before we headed back home to Corpus and that next time they're in town that we should do a bonfire...I would have told him in the first conversation but I didn't know until the set. Ended up being up against the stage during the Lions set...literally close enough for Matt *singer/guitarist* to sweat on me....and during their song "All Hail" be close enough to me that you could hear me on the mic....which he rubbed/patted my head after that LOL. Before we left we also talked a bit with Matt and he said how happy he was that I finally got to see them in Austin and gave me a poster from the show, which Saffron said I was a bad fangirl for not getting it signed....I was so happy just to get it since they were selling them...even though I jokingly told Joel earlier in the night when we'd first seen the posters that I could probably get one from Matt. It was kinda funny for as many times as I've talked with Lions this is the first time where it wasn't like meeting them for the first time all over again...this seemed to be the first time that they remembered me...probably because I wasn't as shy this time around as with the other shows, and their last show was in my town...although I know Austin remembers me from Possum Kingdom =3

Ok I think I've covered everything that's happened in the past month.

On a personal/love life note I was talking to Saffron earlier and we were talking about music and stuff I mentioned how I'm still obsessed/in love with my ex and she was saying how if either of us would open our eyes that I'm perfectly matched with another one of our friends....to which I said even if he asked me out now I'd have to reject him just because if we were to go out as something more than friends our dynamic would be totally different...I don't keep lovers but I'll be damned to lose a friend.
