   Panda Update -- Lazy Version.

Good News

- Mom's doctor's appointment had the best possible results. The bone marrow biopsy came back looking good so she doesn't have to go back to for a re-check for 6 months! Woo Hoo!

- My RA story has been printed in the August 2005 issue of "Arthritis Today". It's on page 64. Laugh, cry, read about my sappy life dealing with RA. It's kinda weird to think that my story is in a magazine...wacky.

- My parents went to Seattle today and brought sushi back for me!!

- Next week I will be at AX!! Making plans to meet up: Birthday boy TheMouse, Mamma Vash and her friend, Shinmaru and Otakusennen. If there is anyone else who is going to be at AX drop me an email or PM so we can make plans to meet up!

Bad News

- Major RA flare up in my right elbow. Finger joints so flared up I can't wear my wedding ring. I am a sickly sore bear.

That's about it in a nutshell. Hope you are all doing well and you are all happy. I love you all and will make the rounds to sites when I am feeling better. Later! ::huggles::

   I'm still alive!!

I am sorry I haven't been too active on myO as of late. Things have been very...medical. I have been taking my mom to lots LOTS of doctor appointments. Today I took her to an appointment and tomorrow we have to go see her cancer specialist doc to find out about her bone marrow biopsy. Needless to say my mom has been on pins and needles about this appointment. Hopefully ::crosses fingers:: we will get some good news.

I promise to get to all my guestbook entries and visit your site soon. My mom's health has been the number one priority in my life right now. Please send your happy thoughts and prayers to us tomorrow as we go find out the test results.

I love you all and appreciate all your support. ::giant panda bear hug::

   Happy Father's Day!

Happy Father's Day!

My internet server went down yesterday afternoon and came back up just this evening. I swear, I have so much trouble with my internet...either it is the city digging up the cable or the server crashing...bah! Oh well, I am back now! I really don't have too much to chat about so I want to know what you guys are doing for Father's Day? Anything? Nothing?

My family is coming over to my house and we are having a BBQ. I'm making potato salad, John is cooking steaks (no not Brynner Burgers or Heston Hocks), my mom is making some sushi and my brother Hiroshi is bringing dessert. I am not sure what else we should make since it is just the 5 of us tomorrow. Maybe I'll run down to the market and pick up some corn on the cob to throw on the grill. No matter what it should be fun since we will be together. ^_^

Now your question of the day. What do you admire the most about your dad?

What I admire the most about my dad is how he takes care of everyone. He does things for people without them asking and with no thanks required. For example, there is little old lady who lives by herself and my dad would pass her house on his way to work. In the winter he would stop and shovel her driveway so she wouldn't have too. It's things like that which I really admire in my dad. ^_^

No matter what you are doing I hope you have a good time doing it. I love you all and wish you all the happiness and health in the world. ::huggles::

   Bun Bun to the Rescue!!

Or not.

I was chatting with Shawn (TheMouse) this afternoon and I told him I would post a picture he would get a kick out of. Brynner, as you can clearly see, is not a rescue dog. We were spending the day at the lake. The dogs went swimming, fetching sticks, chasing ducks...John rode around on the jet ski...I took pictures. When John fell off the jet ski (it's one of those stand up ones) Brynner didn't even look up. I guess you all know why I didn't name him Lassie. :P

We also chatted quite a bit about Anime Expo. My question to everyone here is: Are you going to AX this year and if you are, do you want to plan to meet each other? I am thinking if there is a bunch of us that want to get together we could have lunch or even make a run through the dealer's room together in one big mob. John and I will be there for sure and we love meeting other anime fans. Let me know if you are planning on attending. I would love to meet ya!

Now to close out my short post I am using a survey thingy I plundered from Solo.

ANGER
1. Who did you last get angry with?
Myself. When my RA flares up I get pretty down on myself and angry that my own body is doing this to itself.
2. What is your weapon of choice?
My sharp tongue. I tend to say very hurtful things to people who hurt me.
3. Would you hit a member of the opposite sex?
Yes.
4. How about of the same sex?
Yes.
5. Who was the last person who got really angry at you?
::thinks:: I don't know.
6. What is your pet peeve?
I really hate people who yell at another person for something beyond their control. For instance, when I worked at the one and only movie theater in town there was a power outage in all of the downtown area. We refunded money and gave free passes for their next visit. One guy stood in the lobby and yelled at the manager telling her it was her fault this happened. The power in the entire downtown area was down and somehow it was the fault of the manager of a movie theater...what an a**. I just wanted to punch that guy in the face for being such a jerk!
7. Do you keep grudges, or can you let them go easily?
Yes, I hold grudges. I am very bad about that. When someone hurts me I never let it go. I may move on but deep down inside I can never trust that person again.

SLOTH
1. What is one thing you're supposed to do daily that you haven't done in a long time?
Exercise.
2. What is the latest you've ever woken up?
Afternoon. I believe around 12:30.
3. Name a person you've been meaning to contact, but haven't.
Mike and Aya to congratulate them on their new baby daughter Saya Bean!
4. What is the last lame excuse you made?
I am terrible for making up excuses...so much to the point that I just tell the truth, which in many cases, is much lamer than a lie.
5. Have you ever watched an infomercial all the way through (one of the long ones...)?
Nope. When they show those infomercials I turn the tv off.
6. When was the last time you got a good workout in?
End of April. I only made a mile in 20 minutes and thought I was going to die!
7. How many times did you hit the snooze button on your alarm clock today?
There is absolutely no way I can sleep in. At 5am every morning...you can set your watch to them...the dogs get up and need to go for walkies. You don't ignore 2 very large dogs when they need to go walkies!

GLUTTONY
1. What is your overpriced yuppie beverage of choice?
I would have to say a Grande Iced Carmel Macchiato.
2. Meat eaters: white meat or dark meat?
Dark.
3. What is the greatest amount of alcohol you've had in one sitting/outing/event?
2 mudslides, 1gin and tonic, 1 blue margarita, 1 martini. John and I stayed in one night and had a few drinks and did a Cowboy Bebop marathon. He even drank a "Prairie Oyster" when we got to the "Heavy Metal Queen" episode. For those of you who don't know that was the drink Spike had at the beginning.
4. Have you ever used a professional diet company?
Nope. They would just tell me I am beyond help. lol
5. Do you have an issue with your weight?
Yes. I know I am too plump and I try to exercise and eat right but I just don't seem to make much progress.
6. Do you prefer sweets, salty foods, or spicy foods?
Salty foods. Potato chips, french fries....salty goodness.
7. Have you ever looked at a small housepet or child and thought, "LUNCH!"?
Yes. This is actually very common in vet med. When we would prep an animal for surgery and put the betadine (the brown surgical soap) on them it looks just like BBQ sauce. Tasty...anywho, for my own pets:

Brynner: Excellent sourse for steaks and burgers. Brynner on a Bun. Bun on a Bun. Brynner Burgers...
Heston: Definitely slow cooker or stew meat. Heston Hocks.
Harrison: With his short little legs he looks like a turkey. All he needs are the little white caps for this legs and be set into a turkey pan. Thanksgiving dinner!
Ana Ng: She's evil...rotten to the core...she wouldn't be good eattin'.

Is it bad I have put this much thought into eating my pets?

LUST
1. How many people have you seen naked (not counting movies/family)?
Dozens. I use to travel with a drum and bugle corps and many of the school locker rooms we stayed at had open shower rooms (no individual stalls) so it was pretty difficult to have much privacy.
2. How many people have seen YOU naked (not counting physicians/family)?
Dozens. Same reason as above. Darn locker rooms don't give much privacy.
3. Have you ever caught yourself staring at the chest/crotch of a member of your gender of choice during a normal conversation?
Yes. I caught myself staring at one of the clients at the vet clinic. He, and his dog, are cryptorchid. That means that one of the testicles has not dropped down into the scrotum. I know what dogs look like when they are cryptorchid and I started to wonder what human males look like...just then I realized I was staring at the owner's "area". ::blushes::
4. Have you "done it"?
Yes. I have been married for almost 10 years and if I was still holding out I am sure John would wonder. lol
5. What is your favorite body part on a person of your gender of choice?
I love eyes. They are the window to the soul after all!
6. Have you ever been propositioned by a prostitute?
Nope.
7. Have you ever had to get tested for an STD or pregnancy?
I have taken 2 pregnancy tests. Both after missing my "monthly visitor" two months in a row.

GREED
1. How many credit cards do you own?
At least 10.
2. What's your guilty pleasure store?
Miller's Fine Jewelry. Local jewelry shop that I know I have spent hundreds of dollars at.
3. If you had 1 million, what would you do with it?
Pay off my bills and then invest and save the rest.
4. Would you rather be rich, or famous?
Rich. No doubt...rich over famous. Famous people never get a real life.
5. Would you accept a boring job if it meant you would make megabucks?
Yes. I would work until I earned enough money to live comfortably and then quit.
6. Have you ever stolen anything?
Yes. Office supplies (pens, paperclips).
7. How many MP3s are on your hard drive?
111 on my laptop.

PRIDE
1. What one thing have you done that you're most proud of?
Not giving up on myself.
2. What one thing have you done that your parents are most proud of?
Getting married to John. They totally love him.
3. What thing would you like to accomplish in your life?
Earn a living from my writing.
4. Do you get annoyed by coming in second place?
Nope, even when I am second place in a two person race.
5. Have you ever entered a contest of skill, knowing you were of much higher skill than all the other competitors?
Nope.
6. Have you ever cheated on something to get a higher score?
Yes. A spelling test in 1st grade. I wrote the answers on my desk. I forgot to study for the test and I was so worried about failing I cheated.
7. What did you do today that you're proud of?
I drove 2 senior citizens around town to run errands, get to the doctor, pay bills and do grocery shopping.

ENVY
1. What item (or person) of your friends would you most want to have for your own?
I can't think of anything that one of my friends has that I would want...I guess I would have to say my brother's music collection. It's quite impressive.
2. Who would you want to go on "Trading Spaces" with?
My brother! He would totally make my house look great! I would give his bachelor pad a bit more of a female touch. (He has no plants or art on the wall...unless you count the bikini-clad girl posters from the auto shop hanging in his garage. :P )
3. If you could be anyone else in the world, who would you be?
I don't want to be anyone else...except a younger, thinner, healthier version of me. Like I was back in high school. That would be groovy.
4. Have you ever been cheated on?
Nope.
5. Have you ever wished you had a physical feature different from your own?
Yes. I wish I had a small waist. Abs of steel instead of abs of pudding.
6. What inborn trait do you see in others that you wish you had for yourself?
Self-confidence. I wish I could be happy in my own skin...be more outgoing.
7. Do you wish you'd come up with this survey?
No, not really. It was fun though. ^_^
8. Finally, what is your favorite deadly sin?
On FMA I would say Envy. In the movie Seven I would say Gluttony since it totally made me gag...that means it was a great movie visual. Otherwise I would have to say that I don't have a favorite deadly sin. After all they all have terrible eternal punishments in Hell for these sins...I would go with what I think is the lesser of the punishments and go with Envy. That is being placed in freezing water. No boiling oils, pits of snakes, or force fed rats for me!

   Why Does Brynner Have Gas?

As many of you know Brynner is my dog. He is a very cute dog, but at times, a very gassy dog. Today's blog entry is to uncover the mystery behind the behind of Bun Bun. Could it be his diet? Let's examine these photos for some insight...

Ok, that was just a bit of fun. Really his gas is caused by eating foods that are not a part of his regular diet. Except for one time...

One evening John and I woke up to a horrible, unearthly smell. To quote Osaka from Azumanga Daioh..."a fart that was not my own wafted into my nose." It was so bad that John crawled under the house to make sure we didn't have a broken sewer pipe! We then discovered it was escaping from Brynner. Ewwww!

Because of his size, being a large breed dog, I took him to work with me the next day to make sure he wasn't in the early stages of bloat. We did a bunch of tests and stuff and he was in the very early stages of bloat. Before I left that day I was up at the front desk with Brynner chatting with my co-workers about what to do if he took a turn for the worse in the night...bloat can be life threatening. Just as someone started to walk in the front door, Brynner unleashed his fury in the lobby. Everybody ran away except for my best friend Jen. I even left. Jen had to stay up front to help the client coming in.

This is a wonderful visual. Jen, standing up front all by herself with this terrible, horrible stink. She tells the client that it was a dog who just left. Keep in mind that I took off though the employee back entrance and this client didn't see me or Bun at all. I am sure he thought she made the stink! LOL Jen really is a great friend. Even though my dog made her look...er...smell bad, she is still my friend.

Well, I really didn't have much to talk about so I decided to go with dog gas. I think I really have hit rock bottom with things to talk about in my blog. LOL Oh well, at least it's an update. I hope everyone is doing well and is having a wonderfully gas free day. Love you all! ::huggles::

   Phew!!

I am exausted!

I have been dealing with a flare up of my RA today so I haven't been able to do too much today. I did get stuck out of my new swing bench. I couldn't get off of it since my toes, knee and ankle joints...along with my elbows, hands, wrists and fingers...are all swollen and sore. So I spent a few hours sitting out there just waiting for John to come home and help me up. LOL

Part of me is a bit depressed about that since today was one of those days that made me realized that I am not healthy. That I need help. It's very tough on the ego to be so helpless. On the other hand, the other part of my personality found it to be quite hilarious! I was trapped on a swing!! Who in the world gets stuck on a swing? I guess the answer to that is me!! LOL :P

Well, I am hurting so I am going to get some more meds and relax. I think today will be a great day for watching anime.

I love you all and hope you are all having a wonderful day. Oh, I know, how about a parting question! Have you ever been stuck in/on something? Locked in a room? Stuck in an elevator? Trapped in a bathroom stall? Tell me what you have been trapped by.

I'm off, later everyone!

   Q & A

SomeGuy: Madam, would you consider yourself to be an Elvis girl or a Beatles girl?

Elvis or Beatles eh. I would have to say that "I am he as you are he as you are me and we are all together..." Beatles baby. With lyrics like these how can you not love the Beatles?! "I am the eggman, They are the eggmen, I am the walrus, Goo goo g' joob, Goo goo g' joob, Goo goo g' goo, goo goo g' joob goo, juba juba juba, juba juba juba, juba juba juba juba, juba juba"

SunfallE: How long have you had Rheumotoid Arthritis? And what helps you the most in dealing with it?

I was officially diagnosed in 2003 but I have been dealing with RA in my life for as long as I can remember. My mom, her twin sister and their father (my grandpa) all had/have RA. I have never known them to not have RA, it's kinda weird to think about. I have never seen them healthy. I am very lucky that I didn't have to deal with JRA but no matter when in life you get something like an autoimmune disease it's never a good time. I am luckier than many since I grew up seeing what the disease does to people, both emotionally and physically, so I was a bit more prepared to deal with the diagnosis.

What helps me the most in dealing with it...definitely would have to be the support of my friends and family. Without their support and understanding I know I would be completely lost. They all know that there are days that I can't get out and about and do stuff with them. Support from friends and family have done more for me than any medication ever has.

Extraordinary pilot, smuggler, and soldier in the Rebel Alliance Han Solo: If you had something you wanted/needed to say to someone, but you knew it was something they wouldn't want to hear, would you tell them?

Yes. I would be honest with them, even if it is something they don't want to hear. It may be really tough, they may not appreciate hearing things they don't want to hear...but eventually (hopefully) they will see that you did it because you really care and are open and honest with them.

-If it weren't for Pandas, which other animal theme would dominate YourO?

Hippos. Hippos rock. Did you know that the baby hippo eats approximately 80 lbs of food a day?! They also kill more people in Africa yearly than lions...don't mess with hippos!

Winged Youki: If you were traveling in a car at the speed of light...and then...you turned your lights on...would they do anything?

Eegah! I have never really thought about this...I would say that they wouldn't do anything. Hmm, this is something I need to ponder...

-If Jimmy cracked corn and I didn't care...Would you?

Nope. Unless I became a chicken then I would care since it would be my supper.

Mouse: If anime didn't exist, what would dominate your time?

Stalking you. @_@;;

-Do you believe that the hokey pokey really is what it's all about?

You know it! I have that saying on my signature on Robotech.com! I am guessing that there is no totally amazing meaning to life...it's probably something simple like the hokey pokey. :P

hiei teddy bear: If they ever did a live action movie of saiyuki, who do you think would be the best people do to the four bishie?

That is a tough question. I don't have an answer for any of the guys except for one- Gojyo. I swear me saying this makes me sound like some dirty old lady. My former backyard neighbor. He does modeling for Calvin Klein and is just gorgeous! He's totally got the body for Gojyo...you know, the kind of body that makes girls have impure thoughts. ::daydreams::

Summoner Rekka: Feedback on friend's heartache.

I am sorry to hear about your friend. That really sucks. The very best thing is to make sure she knows you are there to support her. That you care and no matter what you will be there. Time is the best cure for a broken heart. If this guy really did love her he wouldn't have treated her with so little respect. Just make sure she knows that you aren't like this guy and that you are a true friend.

Okami Wolf: Why is Genjo so damn fine?

Because Minekura is an amazing artist who knows what every bishie loving girl wants and put those traits into the perfect package -- Genjo Sanzo.

Chabichou: Why do you love pandas so much?

Pandas are so cute! John's nickname for me is Panda and whenever I see one I think about him. It gives me the warm fuzzy feeling inside. So pandas for me = happy thoughts and feelings. Plus, unlike people, pandas are considered cute and cuddly even though they are short and plump. ~_^

Aaryanna: What is your favirote type of dog? Or rather which breed do you think looks the cutest?

That is a really tough question. I think French Bulldogs and Boston Terriers are cute...they have those short noses and bat ears...cute, just plain cute. But then another part of me totally adores English Mastiffs. Yes, I know they are over 200 lbs of dog but they are soooo sweet! I just can't choose. I would have to say each dog, even mixed breeds, can be cute if their personalities are. Brynner (aka Bun Bun, Boo Buns, Bear Buns) the one I posted the picture of the other day is a rescue dog. Mixed breeds can be just as cute, or more cute than purebred dogs.

KitsuneTsuki: How many pandas do you own?

What an evil question! I have hundreds of panda items...I have no idea of an exact number. Plus, the world can never have too many pandas!!

-When did you start your panda obsession?

In 1992 when John gave me the nickname Panda.

-What is your favorite novel?

Oh boy, another tough question. I would have to say it is Katherin Dunn's Geek Love. It is an excellent story of, well, pretty much a traveling freak show family. It just gives you the feeling that the "normal" people are actually the freaks of this world. It is a great book if you can stomach the bizarre story line.

Well, I think that pretty much covers the questions. Thanks for the good ones. I am quite impressed with this round of questions. I knew you guys wouldn't let me down! Well I hope your weekend has been a great one and you are all in great health. Take care and I will chat with you all soon. Thanks again for the great questions. You guys rock my panda socks! ::huggles::
