   Gotta Get Outta Here!

Vaaarooom!

I had a very fun conversation last night with a dear friend of mine and it appears that I might be abducted for a while in September. This abduction-in-the-works would, of course, include lots of traveling. I am very much looking forward to this and really hope ::crosses fingers:: that it all works out so I can go. I need to get out of my one horse town. Oh, did I mention I will be traveling in the company of some very handsome men? Am I a lucky girl or what! ~_^

All this thought of travel reminded me of a song that I really like. It's by Mark McGuinn and it's called "That's a Plan". It pretty much sums up how I felt, and at time still feel, about my hometown. Anyone who lives in a tiny rural town probably feels this way!

This small town ain't such a bad little place
It's home but I could sure use some place
City limit signs are closing in on me
There's times I swear I can hardly breathe

I'm gonna pack my bags, say my good-byes
Get a map and close my eyes
Point my finger, let fate decide
Where I'm gonna land
I'm gonna hitch my wagon to a wandering star
A guy like me can sure get far
With a little gas and a credit card
Now that's a plan
Yeah that's a plan

These dirt roads all look the same
I wanna see the world from a faster lane
And I know for a while I'm gonna be big news
But life will get back like it was real soon

I'm gonna pack my bags, say my good-byes
Get a map and close my eyes
Point my finger, let fate decide
Where I'm gonna land
I'm gonna hitch my wagon to a wandering star
A guy like me can sure get far
With a little gas and a credit card
Now that's a plan
Yeah that's a plan

Well I'm sure I'll come back here once again
When I finally settle down but till then

I'm gonna pack my bags, say my good-byes
Get a map and close my eyes
Point my finger, let fate decide
Where I'm gonna land
I'm gonna hitch my wagon to a wandering star
A guy like me can sure get far
With a little gas and a credit card
Now that's a plan
Yeah that's a plan

Now that's a plan

Since I am in such a travel mood I should have an appropriate bishie break to go with the theme of today's post!

I'll go on a road trip with these boys any day!

Now for my question of the day. When you were little, heck, even now- do/did you ever think of running away from home? Just packing up and leaving all the stress and craziness of your life behind and starting new someplace where no one knows you? Have you ever attempted or succeeded at running away from home?

I'm gonna pack my bags, say my good-byes...

Now I have to admit when I was little I did run away from home. I made it to the end of my family farm and hung out for the day by the canal. I pretty much got tired, hungry and a bit freaked out by the thought of trying to make it on my own. So, I walked back to the house.

As an adult the thought of running away was always very tempting. I remember in college being stressed about money, work, studies, relationships...it was very tempting to just run away and start over. Never did. I stuck it out and made it through. I have pretty much outgrown the idea of running away from home...but a vacation would be nice. Needless to say, this semi-scheduled abduction in September better happen or I am going to be really disappointed! I hate it when plans to get together with friends fall though.

Well, at least between now and then I have Sakura-con coming up in April which I will be hanging out with some of you guys from theO. Oh, and my dear Japan, I will be bringing Kare Kano vol 13 and 14 for you to read. ^_^ I expect all of you near Seattle in April to be at Sakura-con ready to hang out with me!! You know you want to be in my Panda Posse to roam the convention halls being the Otaku-ites we are! We can all dodge the HOBO's together! (HOBO stands for Horrible Otaku Body Odor...many times at conventions there are people who forget to bathe and end up stinking...bad...REALLY bad. Take the paint off your car bad. No joke.) Safety in good smelling numbers! As long as we are together the HOBO should hopefully stay away!

Ok, enough of this madness. I am off to finish up my new wallpapers and greetings. Hope the week is going great for you and I will be chatting with you guys later. Love you lots...you Panda-philes. ~_^

You know what's better than chocolate?

A Chocolate Panda!

So I am feeling much better today. My joints still ache but I am feeling better today than I have in the past few days. Why is that? I think it is from the large quantity of chocolate candy I consumed today. If a little bit is good a whole lot has got to be better right?! I know Mimmi will agree with me on that. ~_^ ::sets out candy dish of chocolates:: Please help yourself!

I got a bunch of screen caps from .hack//Legends of the Twilight and made some cards and wallpapers. Be sure to check them out. My personal favorite is the "Pan-da" card, when you see it you'll know which one I am talking about. My next project is to work on some .hack//Sign wallpapers and cards. I am in a bit of a .hack mood today if you couldn't tell. Hmm, that reminds me...

I think we need to take a .hack bishie break!

Balmung of the Azure Sky.

He's got what every bishie lovin' fan girl wants: the anime hair, cool attitude, feathery cape and not to mention that oh so long...sword. Umm, yeah, sword. I think we better move on to the question of the day!

Would you rather.....

Live in a beautiful mansion that is filled with clowns (real ones, pictures, dolls...anything clown related.)

OR
Live a nomadic life in a yurt with a herd of yak?

I would love to live in a mansion..but the threat of clown interaction scares me. Can you imagine...open up your sock draw and a bunch of those silly snakes pop out at you? Or having to share your room with an evil looking clown doll. Creepy. Plus, imagine if you went someplace like grocery shopping. You and your clown posse would all pile into a car the size of a mini Copper...silly music would always be playing. The horror...the horror....

Now living on the land, in a nice little yurt. Just you and the yak. That would be nice and peaceful now wouldn't it. Definitely not fancy. No plumbing or electricity...but you would have all the yak company you could ever wish for! For that reason I choose to shack..er..yurt up with the herd of yak. Feel free to stop by anytime. My yurt is always open for friends...and your yaks too!

Well, I am off to try to make the rounds to sites before my fingers fall off. I love you all and hope you are all having a great week. Take care! ::huggles::

   But I know one thing...

...and that's I love you.

Just a short update. Today was meh. Still not feeling so hot. Thanks for all the well wishes. I love you guys. You really do give me lots of support and I appreciate it very much. Since I don't have much to share with you guys today I will leave you with a song by XTC. Many of their songs are really heavy so I decided to go with something a bit more lighthearted.

The Mayor of Simpleton

Never been near a university,
Never took a paper or a learned degree,
And some of your friends think that’s stupid of me,
But it’s nothing that I care about.

Well I don’t know how to tell the weight of the sun,
And of mathematics well I want none,
And I may be the mayor of simpleton,
But I know one thing,
And that’s I love you.
When their logic grows cold and all thinking gets done,
You’ll be warm in the arms of the mayor of simpleton.

I can’t have been there when brains were handed round
(please be upstanding for the mayor of simpleton),
Or get past the cover of your books profound,
(please be upstanding for the mayor of simpleton),
And some of your friends thinks it’s really unsound,
That you’re ever seen talking to me.

Well I don’t know how to write a big hit song,
And all crossword puzzles well I just shun,
And I may be the mayor of simpleton,
But I know one thing,
And that’s I love you.

I’m not proud of the fact that I never learned much,
Just feel I should say,
What you get is all real,
I can’t put on an act,
It takes brains to do that anyway. (and anyway...)

And I can’t unravel riddles, problems and puns,
How the home computer has me on the run,
And I may be the mayor of simpleton,
But I know one thing,
And that’s I love you (I love you).

If depth of feeling is a currency,
(please be upstanding for the mayor of simpleton),
Then I’m the man who grew the money tree,
(no chain of office and no hope of getting one).
Some of your friends are too brainy to see,
That they’re paupers and that’s how they’ll stay.

Well I don’t know how many pounds make up a ton,
Of all the nobel prizes that I’ve never won,
And I may be the mayor of simpleton,
But I know one thing,
And that’s I love you.

When all logic grows cold and all thinking gets done,
You’ll be warm in the arms of the mayor of simpleton.
You’ll be warm in the arms of the mayor of simpleton.
You’ll be warm in the arms of the mayor.
(please be upstanding for the mayor of simpleton.)

   Short Update.

Bah.

Having a bad flare up today so this will be a short update. Another one of my wallpapers got deleted today due to "improper formatting"...what the heck does that mean?! Since day one I have used a template in Photoshop to make the sure the size is correct and what's wacky is it was the Sanzo wallpaper I made the other day. You know, the one of four similar Saiyuki wallpapers I made featuring each of the guys. Why if that one was wrong were the others ok? Doesn't make sense. I am in the top 3 of the most prolific wallpaper artists. I am pretty sure I have formatting down. Oh well. I think someone has something against me. ::feels paranoid::

Sorry that I haven't been visiting sites lately. This flare up has really done a number on me. I really hate being sick. For those of you who are new to my site I suffer from Rheumatoid Arthritis which is an autoimmune disease that causes the immune system to attack joints and disfigure them. There is no cure for the disease, only drugs to slow the progression. Oh well, better me than someone else. This is something I wouldn't wish upon anyone.

Well, I am going to take a little break from the computer and read Kare Kano vol 14. John bought it for me ::waits for everyone to "aww" over the sweetness:: But wait! The reason he bought it for me is so he can play Grand Turismo 4 without feeling guilty for ignoring me. For some reason I feel that he will be playing that game loooong after I am done reading one manga! LOL

I love you all and I will chat with you all later. I am not sure how much time I will be spending on line because of my health. So don't forget about me while I am away. Keep on keepin' on til I return! ::huggles::

   I don’t know what’s worth fighting for...

Do you ever feel like giving up on your dreams?

Edit: No worries okay you guys. I am just wondering. The subject title is just lyrics to a Linkin Park song...I was listening to the album.

The only dream I have given up on is my long and sucessful career in vet med. I am just not feeling so hot today...weather is all rainy which flares up my RA and it just puts me in one of those melancholy moods.

   Baba Ganoush!

Bizarre eggplant related subject title and a shark riding on the back of an elephant. What more could you ask for from my site?! Wait, don't answer that. >_<;; I have pretty much had a very uneventful day of taking screen caps from anime and making wallpapers. Those wallpapers are now posted to theO under the Saiyuki and Ghost in the Shell sections. So check them out and download them to your heart's content.

For my bishie for today I decided to go with...

Gravitation Boys!

Your question of the day. Do you like to wear hats? Do you think you look good in hats or not? What is your favorite hat?

Very stylish head gear.

I like to wear hats. I don't wear them very often but I will throw a baseball cap on if I feel like it. John has a large collection of hats. He shaves his head so if he goes out in the sun without a hat he could burn the top of his head. Ouch! I think I look ok in hats but it really isn't my thing. My favorite hat has to be this floppy tan hat that I have. I wear it when I go (use to go) rock climbing.

A bit of a short update today since I am feeling a bit icky. No worries, I'm just a little sore today. Overall I am ok. Well, I'm off to check out the OB. I love you all and hope you are all having a wonderful weekend. Hugs and Kisses all!

   Good Morning to Me!

Mmm, arsenic.

The above picture is one of a billboard in Ephrata, Washington. Ephrata is about 25 miles away from Moses Lake. John had to drive over there today for some business and took this picture for me. It just struck him (and me) as being really funny. Talk about product placement. On the left you have a McDonald's add for breakfast...next to that is an anti-smoking add. "Good Morning to me...mmmm, arsenic." Nice.

I did have a very nice phone call today with Japan. She is going to meet up with me and John at Sakura-con! Woo Hoo!! We are probably going to go to Uwajimaya too. I need to buy more soy sauce and other tasty Japanese food. I think the time we took TheMouse to Uwajimaya I think we freaked him out by buying a bag of rice. Well, it was 50 lbs. of rice but still.

For my bishie break today I decided to go with someone with an impressive family line...

Major Armstrong!

Now for your question of the day: What are you afraid of? Heights? Water? Snakes? Spiders? Creepy Dolls? What makes your skin crawl?

I'll eat your brain and steal your soul.

I have a small fear of guinea pigs. I hate those things. I hate they way they freak out when you try to pick them up. I also don't care much for water. I almost drowned when I was little so I never really got over that fear of water. I can swim now, but there is no way you will see me doing something like swimming out in the middle of the ocean.

Well, not much else to report but I did make some new wallpapers up for GTO and Trigun. Updated myO with the new Easter theme layout and put my new banner and avi on my account for the OB. Be sure to check it all out. I am not feeling so hot, my finger's hurt so that is going to be it for my update today. I love you all and hope you are all having a groovy day. Laters!

   Happy St. Panda's Day!

Or is it St. Patrick's Day?

Happy St. Patrick's Day everyone! Hope you are all getting your fill of Corned Beef and Cabbage and Green Beer (for you of age of course.). I am sorry I didn't update yesterday, it was my chemo day and it makes me feel all icky. I am feel a bit better now so here's your special St. Paddy's Day update! Woo Hoo!

I don't know about you guys but back when I was in school there were these "rules" about St. Patrick's Day. You know, you have to wear green or else. If you wore a color other than green you got some sort of "punishment". Blue got kicked, Red got kissed, Pink got pinched and so on and so forth. Of course if you wore green you were safe. So...are you wearing green today?!

Back off, I'm in green!!

Well today is the last day for my St. Paddy's Day green theme on my site. As of tomorrow I will post my Easter theme. I know I asked you guys for what theme to do next, but I just didn't feel right doing a "Devil Panda" theme at Easter. So after Easter, the Devil Panda will be coming to take your souls. >:D

Time for a bishie break!

It's a fan girl's lucky day!

Time for your question of the day! Seeing how I need to go with my green theme for today, the topic is tossed green salads. I want to know what your favorite salad dressing is!

Don't forget to eat your greens!

My favorite dressing is French. For those who don't know French dressing is pretty much a mix of Paprika, salt, sugar, mustard powder, onion powder, vegetable oil and vinegar. My next favorite would be Ranch dressing which is a mayonnaise based dressing. Now I feel like eating a really fresh green salad.

Well, that is about it for today. I have submitted more wallpapers to the site for the Last Exile and Full Metal Alchemist sections, be sure to check them out, download them, tell me how wonderful I am...you know the routine. ~_^ I love you all and hope you are all having a very happy St. Patrick's Day. Laters!

   Scavenger Hunt Completed!!

Well, this is going to be very image heavy, sorry to all of you on dial up. >_<;; Well, without further ado, the scavenger hunt results. Hope I remembered to close all my tags. If not, sorry!!

Steptoussai: A frosted cookie.

I did not have a frosted cookie in the house, but I did have this. My friend Tamara gave me a Panda Cookie kit and on the side of the box has suggestions on decorating the cookies with frosting and sprinkles. So on the side of the box are pictures of frosted cookies!

white fang: pic of ur fav cd.

My favorite cd right now is the They Might Be Giants compilation cd. Ana Ng is, after all, one of my all time favorite songs.

Yami Loni: I want you to find a pair of mix-matched socks (striped if you dare) with a No. 2 pencil laying on top of them.

I didn't have any striped socks! So I opted for the next best thing: Panda socks! Two different socks and a number 2 pencil laying on top of them. The tough part of this was finding the number 2 pencil! But I prevailed after digging around in John's desk! Woo Hoo!

Shinmaru: A newt. Extra points for being inventive with it, and finding a loophole to get out of it.

I don't need no stinkin' loophole to get out of finding a newt! Back when my best friend Jen got married we all went out to play mini-golf. It was at this place that has batting cages, arcade games and that sort of thing. I played a bunch of Skee-ball and got all these tickets to trade in for "prizes". I ended up getting that little green lizard thingy, 2 snakes, a little plastic man with a parachute and 4 pieces of candy. I was packing that lizard in my purse ever since I got it. The boat, that was just for style points. John ended up bringing that home from Vegas. The business trip seminar thingy had the theme of "Charting the Course" so it went with their theme. Yo ho ho me ship is being attacked by a newt!

Summoner Rekka: A clock. Any clock with the time 3:57 P.M. or A.M. if you are up that late.

As you can see, the clock is at 3:57. Not only is it at the correct time for this mission, it also has pandas. Woo hoo!

ParnoidPerson: find a pair of sock that is really i mean really dirty with a panda on it.

I will have you know that I took care of zel's request before this one. The other way around would just be plain icky. So, all my panda socks were clean so I had to wear this pair all day. I then rubbed it on my dog so it would get all hairy. I think I will go wash it right now.

anatema: Acondom.

I knew my dear anatema would think of something that would make me blush. I am not really sure what to say about this but...safety first!

zels hoseki: an oven... with a sock in it.

Not only did I get you a sock in an oven, I gave you a pair of socks in the oven! What is it with you guys and the sock fetish? I am surprised no one has asked me to take a picture of my sock drawer yet!

Mimmi: A foot! And then we can guess who the foot belongs to :o

Thank goodness we got away from the socks...now we have moved on to feet! I gave you a foot, now you have to tell me who it belongs to.

Techno Cat: How about any Sakura-con memorabilia.

I have my badge, pin, shirt...but opted to go with the program instead. Notice, it is from 2003 and in perfect condition. I am such a pack rat.

the fizz: A bottle of Romulan Ale!

I prefer my Romulan Ale in a glass verses the bottle. I also like it prepared exactly like a blue margarita. Mmmmm, tasty.

Chocobo Gene: a statue of some kind of animal.

Betcha you guys were expecting to see a panda huh. Nope, I decided to give you a picture of a chicken. A wooden chicken from Japan. Yup, wooden chicken.

YueMoon: A saiyuki statue of goku with your initials on it?

It's a little Goku with my initials on it! I also have a golden colored Goku and one of him in a swanky suit too. But I decided to go with the traditional Saiyuki Goku look for this challenge.

TheMouse: My first inclination is a picture of you and a myO member who is NOT John! But if you don't want to do that one then how about finding a badge from a previous Anime Expo con. Heck, do both!

At first I was so determined to get a picture of you that I forgot it was suppose to be with me in it! The top picture is John (Novapup) and Shawn (TheMouse) from rock climbing and the bottom one is of us (Mouse and Me) from vacation at Disneyworld. The badge is in the upper left corner.

Faroe: a pic of a panda bear (a doll) in your house if you have one.

IF I have one?! Now that is silly to say. I have dozens of pandas in my house. That is why I decided to take a picture of a Tare Panda wearing a blue and white wig. Just because I had to make this panda different from all the others.

Arcadia: Something old, Something new, Something borrowed, Something blue.

The picture of John on the Manhattan Express is something new. The metal thing is my dad's tripod that we borrowed, which also has blue on it. Now, the rest of my dear Arcadia's stuff...

Something (like a title, phrase, or motto) that contains the words "ninja", "yellow", and "delicious". They don't all have to be in the same sentence but you get extra points if you can put them together.

Ok, so I cheated a bit. It's written on a white board. :P

Something that is made in the US (as in not in Tawaiin, China, Indonesia, etc) with the label clearly visible

This is the back of the book "How to Screw with Peoples Minds". It's printed in the USA. All the labels on stuff that were made in the US were so flippin' small the pictures wouldn't turn out. I guess we here in the States are just not proud of our work. :P

A duck

It is a picture of a duck in one of my veterinary books.

Something to do with squirrels

Not just squirrels...flying squirrels. Yet another picture from the same vet book.

Something you own that has nothing to do with theOtaku or OB but still reminds you of the community or somebody in it.

My anime collection. When I think of anime I think of theOtaku.com. Certain animes make me think of certain people. For example. Trigun=Mamma Vash. Robotech=BankofKev. GTO=SomeGuy. You get the idea.

MiasmaMoon: An old stuffed animal that you still have since you were little...named Carl. (You can take off the Carl part if you want. XP)

Well, his name isn't Carl, but it does start with the letter C. This is Charlie. I have had him since I was 3 years old. He has been with me ever since. He even went to my engagement parties as a keepsake. He has been with me and will always be with me. I love Charlie.

yuukichan: 1) a video game 2) a walk-man 3) a stuffed animal 4) a REALLY SHARP KNIFE 5) and an eraser.

I got everything but number 2. I have one but I think it is in storage. I can't find it. Sorry! Hey, I haven't used a walkman in over a decade! I know what box it is in, but I don't know where the box is. Bah.

marz: 1) a book, thats not a manga 2) shirt w/ a panda on it 3) an anime magizine 4) a figurine of Sanzo^^

I got it all. The book that is not a manga is the Merck Veterinary Manual. The Sanzo figurine is on top of the shirt next to the Merck Manual. Woo Hoo!

Ye Olde BankofKev: 1. John playing Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas in your basement.

Well, here is John playing GTA: San Andreas but he is not in a basement. We don't have a basement. He is in our "game room". Basically it is one of the spare bedrooms that we set up with the PS2. You can also see a really big stuffed panda who is wearing a shirt that says "I love you." Awww, isn't that sweet.

2. A guy with a idea.

The picture is altered to protect the identity of the "guy with an idea". This is a very long and twisted story that strikes fear in the hearts of many.

3. A kimono

This is one of my kimonos from when I was little. I now use it as decoration in my living room.

4. Your dog sleeping

Oh what a sweet little puppy. Ok, so he isn't a puppy and hasn't been one in years. He is taking his afternoon nap just in time for me to take this picture. Sleepy, sleepy....doesn't this just make you want to go to bed? ::Yawn::

5. A panda sleeping.

zzzzzz..yup, that is a picture of me peacefully sleeping in my bedroom. All snuggly warm and cozy in bed with the lights turned off and the curtains drawn. Don't I look peaceful....ah...sleepy time Panda. zzzzzz ~_~

RavenSama: a panda calendar

I am not sure why I didn't take a picture of the calendar part of the calendar. I just took the panda picture part. LOL I am just so use to concentrating on the panda I didn't take the calendar part. Every year I buy a panda calendar as soon as the new years calendars come out. I love my panda calendars. They are a great place to get pictures. ^_^

a picture of you in your high school band uniform!

I don't have any pictures of me in my high school band uniform. My parents have them all at their house. But I do have a picture of me in my Drum and Bugle Corps uniform AND I do still have my high school band uniform! I can't fit into it anymore. Oh if only my waistline was still that small. ::cries::

spirit gun2: your computer.

Sorry about the glare. This is what I see online. I use my laptop. It is a Macintosh Titanium G4 Power Book. Now no wise cracks about Macs vs PCs. ::looks at TheMouse:: Yes, we here are Mac users.

Summoner Rekka: Picture of you while your standing in front of a mirror.

Well, it's a picture of me standing in front of a mirror. I can see my wonderful face clear as day. You didn't say to take a picture of a mirror so I took one of me in front of a mirror. Plus, you already asked me to find stuff! :P

Mew Wem: How aobut your tallest high-helled shoes?

I have boots that are taller than this pair of shoes but since you specified shoes...these would be it. The heels are 5 inches. I love these shoes.

Ok, I am done with this hunt. Man, this was time consuming! I am going to watch some anime. You people and your fetishes with my socks/feet/shoes need to go do something constructive...like stop thinking about socks/feet/shoes!

I love you all and I will chat with you all later. Keep on keepin' on all. ^_^

   Oh so busy...

Image hosted by Photobucket.com
Gotta Run!

Today's update is going to be really short. Several reasons. I am not feeling so hot and I have to do some stuff not concerning the computer. I know, hard to believe I have a life offline, but I do...really! ::looks at the disbelieving expressions:: Oh bother.

This idea came to me while I was working on the Q & A session yesterday. I want to do a scavenger hunt in my house with my camera. Here's how it will work...

1.) You will ask me to find something.
2.) I will search for whatever it is in my house. I cannot leave the house to find items.
3.) I will take a picture of it.
4.) I will then post the picture on my site tomorrow.

Things to search for can be anything that someone might have in their house. Try to make them interesting things. Stuff like: A statue of one of the Saiyuki guys. A painting. Cereal box with a panda on it. Autograph from a celebrity. Something with a foreign language printed on it. A non-anime magazine. A picture of me with another myOtaku member who is NOT my husband. You know, stuff like that. Have some fun with this. Send me on an adventure in my own home! Let's see how many of the items I can find. I dare you!!

Make me proud. I know you guys can come up with something silly. If not silly at least SOMETHING. It could be my favorite coffee mug. Box of mac and cheese. My computer. My pets...whatever. Heck, the doorbell to the front door is game! You know you want to have a glimpse into the secret world of the Panda! See what lurks in the odds and ends of my collections. Have fun!

Image hosted by Photobucket.com
I love you guys much.

This should be fun. Well, I need to get going. I love you all and I look forward to what your twisted minds can come up with. You guys rock my socks.
