   some news ( not as much nowadays )

"TBS already has in their domain a soon-to-be site dedicated for XXXHOLiC, there's still nothing on it apart from the logo image and opening date, the URL is simple as such:

I was simply trying that URL, hopeless I must confess, because I never thought it would work, but yey it did !
also Tsubaki Nekois birthday was on the 21st!
Some news to break the silence
It's quite quiet these days, huh? So as we wait for CLAMP's update on the 1st, I've got some tiny pieces of news and a couple of other things.

CLAMP on the ranking !

CLAMP is still on track on animate's ranking, though it lost a bit of steam as XXXHOLiC DVD fell to the 6th position while Tsubasa's one is off the list. It still a deserves a "way to go!" for the fact that it's just the pre-sale.

This information is a bit old in time but smells new for us. Reading through the old topics from Ohkawa-sensei's private board at CLAMP-PLA.NET, I discovered that Ohkawa had a surgical operation on her back around the end of November of the last year o.o
No panic, she's all good already. I can't say the gravity of the problem she had but I don't think it was something too much serious, and it's kinda of predictable that she would unfortunately suffer from that problem since she and all the other CLAMP members spend most (if not ALL) of their working time sitting, leaning their bodies in sometimes bad positions.
But we didn't have many breaks beyond the ordinary around November/December, did we? Well, read that: Ohkawa asked for the doctor if she could work while in the hospital because they (CLAMP) had put their mangas on hold for health reasons before and they didn't want this to happen again o.o" She bought her notebook to the hospital and fought against the medicines and treatments, all for CLAMP. My goodness, for one thing she's great because that shows how serious with her work she is, but from another point, woman, give it a rest ! You're overdoing yourself !

Anyway, as I said, she's already good (thank gosh), back to CLAMP's studio ever since the end of November, I think she stayed at the hospital just for a couple of days."

   xXxHolic

"There's an american book called "Masters of Manga" where the writer got to review and interview various famous mangakas, including, of course, our favorite ones.

The material is VERY good indeed. There's a very nice interview where we get to know more about the process of creation of the CLAMP mangas, how they make certain decisions, how they present their work to the publishers, how is their routine, stuff like that.
The guy who writes the review is excellent ! He talks about CLAMP in such a nice way, he really valuates CLAMP's work and if someday I was to write a review on CLAMP, I would write very similar to him
And last but not least, we get to see some pics of CLAMP working on Tsubasa and XXXHOLiC

   clamp!!!

"2005 Retrospective.
2005 was indeed a CLAMPy year, many things happened through all the year and I did a retrospective with the biggest events. They were based on my posts so forgive me if I forgot anything.

January:
- Kobato started to be serialized, although the 1st chapter came on December, it was mostly noticed in January.
- CLAMP members started to live separated, working at the same studio but living each one of them in their own house, for the first time.
- The exposition CLAMPŽl�iSu�j started it's first season by the end of January, a huge event celebrating their 15th anniversary in a japanese museum. There were original goodies, events, new pics, movie exhibition, sign sessions, talk shows etc.

February:
- On February a CLAMP member injured her hand during the move and that made Tsubasa and XXXHOLiC serialization very slow during the first part of this month, with lots of sequential breaks.
- Also on this month, the manga for CCS (new version) had it's last volume published. The new version was bigger in size than the usual one and it had the original color pages.
- Tsubasa Vol. 9 was released.

March:
- CLAMP passed for some bad times during this month, their health was a bit shaken during a time due to a cold winter in Japan.
- The fandom also shook with a Preview of Tsubasa anime due to next month. The expectations were high.
- X "celebrated" it's 2 years of hiatus and on a CLAMP Su Talk Show about the X movie, Ohkawa-sensei told the X fans that "We'll definitely carry X on to the end, so please wait a bit longer."
- Album+DVD set CLAMPAZAR, celebrating CLAMP's 15th anniversary was released.

April:
- CLAMP completed 16 years as professional manga writers.
- The 1st season of Card Captor Sakura anime (re-broadcast) ended at NHK to give place to Tsubasa's anime. The second season is coming back in February, 2006.
- The anime of Tsubasa started in April. The 1st episode made the big majority of the fandom very satisfied with it, but the series lost a bit of good reviews as the series went on, due mainly because of staff matters. However, halfway through the end, the series regained the interest of it's followers at the same time as the quality of the anime improved greatly.
- The second season for the CLAMP Su exposition has decided to start on July on a different museum, as the first season ended.
- Announcement of a Tsubasa Movie in the works.
- The first teaser for the movie of XXXHOLiC has been released.
May:
- Tsubasa Vol. 10 and XXXHOLiC Vol. 6 were released.
- The Awful Truth behind X's hiatus has surfaced the occidental fandom: Kadokawa doesn't accept X's newest chapters because of it's strong/violent content.
- A new artbook for X as well as a new version for the already released X Zero was, surprisingly, announced.

July:
- The 2nd and 3rd seasons of the Tsubasa anime was announced.
- The Official Trailer for the Tsubasa and XXXHOLiC movies were released.
- The fandom was shaken again by CLAMP's appearance on japanese TV talk show Top Runner, for the first time in history.

August:
- The last chapter of Kobato was published on Sunday GX. Since then the series remains on hold and it has yet to be converted into tankohon.
- CLAMP auctioned signed drawings of XXXHOLiC and Tsubasa on the japanese site Yahoo Auctions, the final amount of money gained on the auction was around 21 thousand dollars. The money was destined for charity.
- Last edition of magazine CLAMP No Kiseki was published, honoring CLAMP's 15th anniversary.
- The XXXHOLiC and Tsubasa movies were released on japanese theaters.

September:
- CLAMP-NET has been redesigned.

October:
- CLAMP rarities surfed on the net, among them an old CLAMP one-shot, Koi wa Tenka no Mawarimono, and the very rare Tokyo Babylon Live Action.
- XXXHOLiC TV Series was announced.
- CLAMP-PLA.NET site opens, but it's restricted for CLAMP@MOBILE users. CLAMP stops posting at their ALBUM section of their official site to post on this new site.
- Tsubasa Vol. 10 and XXXHOLiC Vol. 7 were released.

November:
- Kobato has been put out of the HEADLINE NEWS Section on CLAMP's official site.
- The X artbooks were released. Surprisingly there was no new Tarot card on Infinity.
- Tsubasa and XXXHOLiC movies DVDs were announced to be on sale on February 25th, 2006.

December:
- Tsubasa chapter 100 is published, being the second biggest series of CLAMP, only behind X... today.
- Ohkawa-sensei will be doing the series composition of XXXHOLiC anime. The series is due to start on April at TBS japanese channel.
- The rarest of all CLAMP videos, CLOVER, became available to the occidental fandom (although it had originally appeared by the end of November on the site of the original video owner).
- CLAMP appeared as guests on Tsubasa webradio show Puri Sute.
- The 1st Tsubasa CD Drama was released."

   clamp news!!!!

"A small change has been made in CLAMP's site, the more-than-a-month abandoned ALBUM section has changed it name to "FROM CLAMP". It's basically what it's being from the last months. there they will write some messages for us, but knowing them, I don't put much faith on it. I don't think it's going to be constantly updated as before, for that they are using CLAMP-PLA.NET's Album. Too bad, I never thought I'd say that but I'll miss Kakyou pics *sigh*

Anyway, off to the news:

Here's the cover for the Premium version of the DVD
Some news about the anime version of XXXHOLiC: The broadcast will be on TBS channel (the same for Chobits) and it'll start on April, but on May it'll start to be broadcasted on Kids Station. I am assuming that it'll be broadcasted simultaneously, as I think it's a cable/paid TV because that same channel airs Pokemon, which is a TV Tokyo anime.
So basically it'll be airing on the two channels at the same time, with one month of advance for TBS's version. This is what I think, or would be crazy enough to air one month on TBS and the rest on Kids Station?

Nothing much on these last days, due to the holidays the news are lacking a lot, but here's one tiny just to break the silence:

On Animate's ranking CLAMP made an, unexpected I should say, appearance.

I thought the Tsubasa CD Drama was supposed to be there in some place, but it wasn't. Instead, the DVDs for XXXHOLiC and Tsubasa showed up:

4th place: XXXHOLiC Movie Premium Edition.
5th place: Tsubasa Movie Premium Edition.

These are really really good numbers. The DVDs have just been announced and they are already in the rank, they are pre-orders, of course. And they are both the Premium edition (making those special editions really is worthy). I'm happy and surprised to see XXXHOLiC in first place too, who is always under Tsubasa.

I guess we can expect both of them to reach higher numbers when they actually are released.
Tsubasa #13 and XXXHOLiC #8 are scheduled to be released on February 17th, 2006."

   xXxHolic/tsubasa/CLOVER!!

"YES !!! Ohkawa is in the Staff for the XXXHOLiC Anime under the charge of "Series composition" (same as CCS and MKR). We can surely expect a VERY faithful anime adaptation, since everything will be approved by her ^_~ Not to mention that the chances of her writting scripts (and maybe songs too) are large.    December news!!!!

"Not much happening, as expected for the end of the year's slow pacing.

Tsubasa:
Next chapters scheduled ** means new

11/30 - Shonen Magazine #53 - Chapter 99 (Last chapter of tank 13).
12/07 - Shonen Magazine #01 - Chapter 100 - 3 color pages (beginning of tank 14).
12/14 - Shonen Magazine #02 & 03 - No Tsubasa scheduled.
**12/28 - Shonen Magazine #04 & 05 - Chapter 101.

Just remembering for those interested that the 5th DVD of the anime series (episodes 15~18) will be out on December 23rd, the cover has Fye and Kurogane.
The 6th one (episodes 19~22) is planned to go on sale on January 27th.
The 7th and last DVD (episodes 23~26) will be out on February 24th.

There will be a special show of 1:30 hour length in NHK where the seiyuus for Syaoran and Sakura will be giving interviews and talking about the 6 firsts episodes (if I'm not mistaken). The show will be aired on January 2nd (5 pm) and will be rebroadcasted on January 3rd (9 pm).

   CLAMP NEWS!

"CLAMP-NET states that the DVDs for both movies of XXXHOLiC and Tsubasa will come out on February 25th, 2006.

The price is still undecided... and it seems that both movies will be sold separated (I mean, one DVD for XXXHOLiC and another one for Tsubasa, unlike the movies).


Kobato:
Oh my gosh Kobato has been taken away from the HEADLINE NEWS section... we all know what this means------! *cries*
For the newcomers, this means: BREAK, with no return predictions (just like what happened to X and GD).
Why that? I don't get... did CLAMP ripped Kobato's head off and Sunday GX is not accepting? Because the magazine is there, RUNNING, it wasn't canceled or something, I don't get.
It's a curse ! Kobato is CLAMP's 4th (OMG FOURTH!) unfinished work (if you count Shin Shunkaden, 5th).


Tsubasa:

11/16 - Shonen Magazine #51 - No Tsubasa scheduled.
11/22 - Shonen Magazine #52 - Chapter 98.

They hardly will have CLAMP's touch (no original drawings and hardly written by Ohkawa).
My arm is hurting like hell because I've been using too much my PC/Photoshop =_= so it hurts when I type T-T

The cover for Tsubasa & XXXHOLiC's 2006 calendar is finally available, and it follows the same Mokona=Modoki model as the previous ones:

*phew* For those who don't know what Puri Sute is, it's Tsubasa's anime NetRadio show, presented by Mokona and Sakura's seiyuu, which means you can listen to it on the internet

The show is weekly and CLAMP will be guest on the show that will be aired on December 27th. I will remind you all, don't worry. And better, I managed a way to save the audio file (ne, Sakura-chan? ^^) and I'll certainly upload it to server as soon as I get, so that you all don't have to deal with bad streamings

Anyway, since the 1st time I listened to this show, this thought occurred to me "How wonderful would it be if CLAMP was their guest someday *0*" and awww, they heard my prays (It'll be Christmas miracle ).

Syaoran, Kurogane and Fye's seiyuus will be there too, man, what a mess ! I kind of wished CLAMP were alone there, with the 2 hosts and that's it... I want to hear them and that's all"

   Clamp news!

"We can relax now, our prays have been heard ! CLAMP-NET confirmed today that the company responsible for the animation of XXXHOLiC TV Series will be indeed Production IG !

This is way too much good ! Although, I do hope they get some new chara designer.


CLAMP NEWS !!

The most high-lighted news is definitely X Artbook's covers, which we can finally see ! It even got the TOP News at their home page !

Kobato:

Has anybody seen her? She's NOWHERE ! No news at CLAMP-NET and no tank for December either (according to Shogakukan's scheduled comics for December).
Although, I'm still betting on it's return for December on Sunday GX... there's still time.

Tsubasa:

Next chapters scheduled **means new

26/10 - Shonen Magazine #48 - Chapter 95 (on sale).
11/02 - Shonen Magazine #49 - Chapter 96.
11/09 - Shonen Magazine #50 - Chapter 97.
**11/16 - Shonen Magazine #51 - No Tsubasa scheduled.
**11/22 - Shonen Magazine #52 - Chapter 98.
**11/30 - Shonen Magazine #53 - Chapter 99. (This is probably the last chapter of tank 13)

So I think this is what CLAMP is doing, chapter 99 is probably the last one for vol 13, because if you count all the pages we already have for vol 13, that means 100 pages. So, with 96~99 ahead, that means an average of 20 per chapter, which will do exact 180 pages, completing vol 13.
That way, we'll have big chapter 100 opening vol 14. Color pages are expected, surely !

The 5th DVD for the anime series (episodes 15~18) will be out on December 23rd.

XXXHOLiC:

Nothing good for XXXHOLiC

That american exhibition I told in my previous post is already being held and CLAMP is featured on it, have any of you already saw it?

CLAMP is featured on December edition (on sale) of Puff magazine (always our dear puff). The content is the report about CLAMP's lecture on Tokyo University of Art and Design. I previously posted here about it, it has some new comments by CLAMP too.

Now, finally, we get to see some new X art after months, on the artbook covers !

YAAAAY Although, I'd like to see Kamui on the Infinity cover rather than Fuuma but... is okay !

The pic is too small, but I zoom-ed it a lot in windows and they are quite Tsubasa-ish, aren't they?
