A Let Down

"- I like iTunes 7." --Adam

That there is what Adam says about iTunes 7. I got it hoping it would give me some of the cooler firmware upgrades for my iPod, like the Search ability available on the 5.2G iPod Video and 2G Nanos. But it didn't. It gave me the Gapless playback and the nifty block in the middle of the screen if scrolling quickly to find something. Those I wanted as well, but the lack of the search feature is a let down on iPod and iTunes.

Anothe letdown with iTunes 7 is that the "CoverFlow" display mode DOESN'T WORK! It shows me an error saying that iTunes can't access my album art, even after I downloaded it through iTunes itself. It should know where it put them! But it says it can't nab them for that nifty mode. MAJOR LET DOWN! That was the whole reason I clicked the "Yes" button on the upgrade query window that appeared today when I started iTunes. I wanted that mode. It was so awesome looking. I'm thinking about trying to send some sort of feedback or support ticket or something to Apple, since it seems there is no support on their site for it thus far.

Well, other than burn an hour watching a previously webcasted Apple Product Introduction with Steve Jobs, update the software on my PC and my iPod, and post this, I haven't done much. But I'm tired. I'm not supposed to be tired at 1:35 AM! That's not normal for me on a weekend/day off.

As you've probably guessed, I have Friday off. Friday is the Homecoming game and dance at my school, but I'm not going to either. Last year just ruined any thoughts of going this year. That and who would I go with? I don't have a girlfriend, and, frankly, don't desire to have another one for a while. And I'm not about to just go alone. What's more, I have no dressy clothes to wear besides what I wear to church on the rare occasion we actually go.

Meh. I'm tired. I'll probably tinker a bit with PHP or just HTML or something, then go to bed, so...

EDIT: I found out why the CoverFlow thing wasn't working based on my own conclusions. Normally, iTunes 6 used Hardware Graphics Acceleration (HGA) to display the album art for the Get Info window. We use PSP9 frequently, and it locks up if the HGA is on at all. It was turned off! iTunes likes to eat at your VPU, so keep the HGA on if you're using CoverFlow in iTunes 7!

I need money...

I need more money for iTunes. I have about $2.00 of it that I've had since the day before my sister's birthday. I haven't had any new additions since I hit $2.00.

I pulled one of my good disappearing acts again. I haven't posted since last month. But I guess there's not much worth posting... I am boring and all.

Well, I bought The Sims: Complete Collection on Saturday. It's awesome. Except that I evicted a few people and they can't afford a new house... I have a few people I play as that the game created, but they're so depressed that they lady barely wants to work, and the guy won't even clean up. Meh.

Well, I just burned some music from iTunes to rip again... to burn again... Whee. I should go take care of that.

Seeya!

GHjhgfkf/

I'm bored and should probably sleep....

So good night in the daytime? I guess...

We made macaroni salad but my eyes started burning from cutting the onion, and I apparently knock the dish soap over in the correct way that it spilled some of it on the macaroni. I ate it anyways...

   :P!

I don't have a lot of post to write, nor a lot of time to write it in, but I have my own PC! A FREE PC!! My school had old computers they were "throwing Away" and they said if we wiped the drives, we could have them. They're HUGE cases though... Meant to be the things at the bottom or side of a server case. In fact, I think It's supposed to be a server. I need to buy more memory for it though... I think it has 32MB and the processor is OK... Intel Celeron @ ~950mhz. formats quicker than \\MAIN. It's for now a nameless and OSless machine just kinda sitting there.

Clicky

I bet that is the life of the LAN party. XD

EDIT: The machine's Temporary Network name is HSRESQ. Who can guess what it means? I think it's pretty simple.

One book to the next.

Well, in English, we went from Of Mice and Men straight into Invisible Man. I'm caught up with my Computer service class. I found out how fun the finals on that is: We disassemble and reassemble our built machines! Whee! I've disassembled machines before. It's fun! Then I get to pay a fee and take the A+ Certificate test at the end of the year? $153 it takes, and I more than likely have to stand the akward feeling of walking through a college. Whee.

Since I Made the point I have an iPod, I finally have it in the computer. My camera sucks, so I used my scanner, which needs cleaning... All my imaging equiptment is weird.

Wheeness!

I got bored... We have to use Macs at school for certain things. I now technically have a style facsimilie for my stylizing on this machine. It even has the super cool "Dock" at the bottom. It works just like the Macs at school, but better, because Windows still sucks. Clicky the pic to enlargeness.

I guess it's safe to say I don't hate Macs anymore. At least, not yet. :) If I had money to buy both a Mac and a PC, I probably would.

I didn't do any of my English homework. We're supposed to read Steinbeck's Of Mice and Men, but I find the book very boring, and I'm on the second chapter. I need to get that book read, because we're supposed to read it AND another short story out of the books. GRR!

Well, I don't know what else to post, so :P.

AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!!!!!

Be afeared! I had a "driving lesson" today in the parking lot at my school. We took the dog with. I didn't do very good... I guess I wasn't doing too bad, but it was bad enough to make the dog get sick! That was the end of that!

Remind me to never eat out or eat cake again.... I've felt "bleh" ever since we had the cake tonight from my sister's birthday. I guess I have my body trined to eat healthier and avoid the crap I used to eat every time I was hungry. We had pizza a few weeks ago and we all were saying we shouldn't have gotten the pizza because we ate enough to not be full but still feel "bleh." So now I'm going to have fun when I get to move out on my own because I'll only want to eat the healthier stuff, and that costs more money, which I may never have much of at all. :(

I Bought a couple more songs on iTunes today and synced my iPod for the second time with the NEW library. It lacks Justo... I may have to "import" that cd now because I feel like it. =P

I'm going to bed at a "reasonable hour" tonight, I have to. I start school the day after tomorrow. :( Not looking forward to it at all.

I'm weird!

You obviously know that, but what else could I put?

Well, I got bored when I was working on some other design-ish thing, and I made this thingy. Uses lots of looping and stuff. It's even smart enough to warn you about the REALLY slow ones... How nice of it!

I got a $25 iTunes card today! Whoo! Now I spent $14 of it already! I bought Shakira's "No Creo," and this one part of the song makes me giggle everytime she says it. In the song, she says "país feliz," and I can't help but giggle when she says it just because it rhymes and it sounds cool! Who knew the word country being decribed as happy would sound so cool? Now I just need to learn enough spanish to translate the songs AS I hear them without an internet translator... I approximate that to be about three more years...

Well, we went to buy my sister's birthday presents today, and since we were at Best Buy, I went seeking the Microsoft branded remote thingamajiggy for Media Center PCs... We found one by chance, randomly placed. $70 something. That was set aside. Then I was also looking at a Hauppage WinTV PVR thing. It did more than the remote itself, and had one of it's own. The only bad part is it was $135, which I couldn't afford anyways. So I left with just an iTunes card, which I am enjoying a LOT because of the "país feliz" line!

Well, I think I should start trying again to get into the school schedule. I need to act like tonight is a regular school night and go to bed at a "regular" time. I don't want to go back to school! I don't know where half of my classes are! I spent most of the night searching on Google hoping that by some chance, there was a map of the school, but there wasn't! Maps of the outside of the school were plentiful, but I need one from inside so I know where all the rooms are at! Frustrating.

I got my learner's permit on Wednesday! I had to take the test twice, because I missed six the first time, most of them because I either misread the question or answer, or I second-guessed myself out of it. But I got it the second time. I got a dorky picture on it like with all "important" photos. I discovered the other night that they tag the pictures with a little bit of text that reads "Governor Dave Heineman," or course spelling that all correctly, since I don't think I did...

Now I must go eat breakfast because I haven't eaten since dinner, which was like 12 hours ago...

But that will wait until this song is over. Fefe Dobson's "Take Me Away" just flipped on in iTunes. I must listen!

I'm A NERD!

I got bored today, so I thought of something I was desiring to do a while back. The idea was to make a lightweight javascript radio type thing that simply read files and passed the audio to the client like in a way similar to radio, without an M3U or similar playlist file.

Well, I have finally done it, even included little timers to show you how long the song is compared to how far it's gotten and the percentage. An example is here linking to a Spice Girls song that some loser is hosting around the internet and had the misfortune of it being found, and some Windows sounds on the machine (assuming the your Windows Dir is C:\Windows.). To start it, uncheck the "Radio Off" Checkbox.

And FYI, I don't really like the spice girls.

I don't know what else to post, so :P.

Blicky Blicky Blah.

Well, I've done really nothing much since the last time I posted, which was a long time ago... I suppose I could list the things I really did...
• Went through closet and took out old clothes that don't fit to donate to GoodWill.
• Slept until nearly noon.
• Lost something I didn't know I was looking for.

Beyond that, I gave the bookmark project something of a facelift. The toolbar has fresher buttons and they also now have mouseover AND click effects!
