???
Wow, not one response today. Am I being boycotted? I apologize to friends if I have done something to offend them, for I don't want to do that.
I DO want to be clear on my view of critique. Specific comments (ie lines are hard to see, dimensions seem out of proportion) do let me know things some folks have spotted, and help me experiment or learn. But comments that employ profanity, or are generalized intents to hurt (offered under the disguise of being a critic)) like saying "you're sick, that stinks". To those who issue those comments, that is flaming--- and flamers have attitudes that cause them to get roasted not only on the internet, but probably by real life contacts. Flaming ain't critique! So , just cease doing that. The flamers know who they are.

Unexpected Treats
It's a lazy day, with some time off. Wandered to Borders for spiced chai, and found a great I Love Lucy calendar for my sister, who is a real hoot! She's quite a ball of energy, and much fun. While I was at Borders, a mystery club was meeting, and there was a guest speaker who was a forensic scientist. It was fascinating to hear him talk about forensics, and the group will be going to the county forensic labs for a tour! Wow, real live QuincyME, or CSI. And another fun thing to do!

There's been some discussions about comments on fan art. When someone does not like a piece of mine, or sees something they feel could benefit from change, any comments left with specific comments I welcome. No artwork is liked universally, and specific critique helps. Comments like "it stinks" offer nothing concrete--- but if there are specific comments, that does help.

Today I baked pineapple-coconut- macadamia nut biscotti to take to FL for Charlie and my sister. Vacation just doesn't come fast enough. I feel tired tonite, so I will retire a little early.

Love and Peace to my friends, I shall visit sites on the other side of starshine/

Hurry up Vacation !

Another day , another dime! One of my fuzzies at work, when you squeeze the beak, he caws!

Well, Big M is off on another project again. I am real glad for the internet and cell phones. There's much to do in the house, but I think all I will do today is rest. Work has been going at warp speed... and yesterday we were told to do more with less. Good thing I had my knitting (I think I would have otherwise said something I would really regret!) Those needles were flying (making a sock)--- I think these will be finished by the time I go on vacation! When you all are at work or school, how do you keep from blurting out something when stressed? If I don't have my knitting, I start sketching.

Saturday I will take off for Florida-- my sister lives in Tampa-St. Petersburgh area, and so does Charlie (my daddy). We will be going to New Orleans for Thanksgiving! Jazz! Hoot--- I love music !And good food! We have no relatives there, but have been going to exotic places for Thanksgiving past 2 years.

I've posted 2 picture, one for Thanksgiving, and a darker one of feeling trapped (after the business meeting).

For all my special friends here on myO, may your day be a good one. If it isn;t, try to look at the night sky, and spend a moment with Nature-- that always can be a great sense of peace!

Can I Go Out and Play Now?
Ahhhh, finally I can put up my feet , and catch my breath, and hopefully some good anime. The chores are done for the day, and I actually had time to play! I get irritable when it seems that each second of the day is accounted for and committed to some project or other obligation, and I have to leave the drawing pad, and knitting home. Makes me want to dive on the floor and have a good old fashioned tantrum! What about my friends, how do you handle too many obligations! Literally, some times I just sit and let a tear go... seems to happen when I get tired, and then goes.... Ah, a soda, and some hot fresh biscotti!

Vash: Ahhh, you get to have fun, and I'm still doing chores!

Mamma: Work faster, because there's other places for you to go and help out...

Check out Panda's site-- so many neat things, often neat surprises in her posts-- and Ozy J's wallpapers are incredible... go see and enjoy.

No bills today, I won't let anything ruin my playday! I did a sketch of Vash and Wolfwood-- what if they both worked in the complaint department of the IRS... I could not think of a crazier job ever.

The lights have faded from the sky, it is dark azure, street lights and neon signs look like a crazy patchwork from my balcony. I can breath deep, and feel some peace. I want to share this with my friends--- sometimes I wish I could store up peaceful moments, but I guess that's what journals, sketchbooks, and cameras are for! Love and peace!

Alexander the Sort of Okay
The Big M and I enjoy watching history, and I saw an ad for the story of Alexander the Great. I was excited, and squealed-- "Oh, we gotta see this!" the Big M is the straight man in this team, and I fall into his puns and teasing all the time. He said "you know, Alexander the Great was not his real name..."
Mamma:" Really?"::eyes wide like saucers::
Big M: "Yes. Before his big performance in Persia, he was Alexander the Sort of Okay. He goes to Persia, gets a new agent, changes his name, and he's a hit!"

Generally, Big M is quiet, and somewhat serious--- but then the imp comes out. Mamma is the noisy imp, all the time! Big M is passionate about photography, Mamma took a course to learn some basics, and we both spend much time with photography. Don't want a dark room, would rather spend time looking for things to photograph.

While flying around recently housecleaning, I came up with a funny thought. What if Vash dared Millie to a chess game, if he wins-- donuts, if he loses, he does Millies chores.... I posted the sketch, let me know what you think.

It's one of the rare autumn days in So. Cali. A little brisk, time for sweaters/ so what better time to bake biscotti! I smell it baking now--- the first batch is coconut/macadamia nut. The day looks perfect for a photography shoot.... sending all my friends here blue skies and fluffy clouds, and a warm hug to keep everyone warm. Im on blanket #4--- and 2 patches for Warm Up America.

If anyone else knits or crochets, I urge you go to Michael"s craft store and donate a 7 x 9" knitted or crocheted piece to this project. Check the dimensions at the store. It will make you feel good to know you will be contributing to help make blankets for those in need.

Happy Thanksgiving to all my friends

Time for some TV
::looking quickly side to side:: Is it safe to come out? Have things stopped breaking! Yes, it continued thru the week! After the crazy weekend on Night Patrol, more items started breaking! The toilet set had to be replaced early Tues morning! When I came home and openned the refrig door to put away groceries, the bulb fell out on the floor and broke. Then the garbage disposal stopped-- not jammed, just won't work! The trying to get the house done ( a never ending task, esp with my weird work hours.) And then finally, my husband M came home. I was exhausted, tired but so happy he was here. The little parrot jumped on his shoulder and nested in the hood of his sweatshirt! Today he took me to a big art store a long distance from here-- I was too tired to drive. I was surprised when he states that pizza will be fine no need for a fuss. He is a quiet guy (Mamma is the big mouth), and reminds me of Wolfwood with wavy dark hair.... except with a quiet demeanonr. He is always pulling my leg, and I am truly naive and fall for it! The drawback is he is away and for long periods of time due to his work, and my work hours also make it difficult. After a brief nap, some biscotti is in order! Tomorrow is work for me, but he needs some time to just relax. The last time I looked at Animerica, there was an add for a toy which made me laugh-- so here it is:

Well, me, Big M are going to settle down for some pizza and TV, and yes the parrots get some too!

I hope that everyone can grab some comfort time, put their feet up, and have time to enjoy whatever your hearts' desire!

Love and Peace (and ZZZZ)

GYAAAAH

This weekend began with a little apprehension (weekend Night Patrol). After I had posted, the phone rang off the hook--- the trainee couldn't be found! I still had a little fever, so I was at home (trying to fix the garbage disposal-- too complex, definitely busted, and came to a halt of course during Night Patrol) As I was trying to handle the situation, the parrot got in the act.. yelling "hello, I'm Dr. Who--" then starts kissing a storm. Luckilly the people at work were long time friends of mine (I have gotten in trouble due to the bird--which I will relate another time) The rain started, and the house was made a BIG DISASTER as I tore through things to locate manuals, etc (I am NOT organized--- it is my big ongoing project)/ 2 minutes before I got in the car, dreading a long drive, they found the trainee! This happened twice! So, though the oven was fixed, dinner was take out!

Vash: Mamma has been very grumpy! But I did make some soup for everyone! :: looks around nervously:: Did anyone see Jet around here? He's tougher than Wolfwood-- no fun, no fun

Jet: ::deep laughter from another room:: I can still see you .. don't forget that!

Vash: How can I...(walks away grumbling)

My friends here on myO saved the day! Looking at the beautiful pics, and reading some great poetry! Check out "no one" site-- there's a group of folks who write poetry and so an Otaku Poetry Guild exists, and lists several people who are really gifted poets! Ah, the more art forms, the more creativity, and soul soothing!

Wherever you all live, if it is raining, may there be big puddles to splash in , and maybe some ducks! Love and peace!

Thanks So Much for Being so Special
I wish I could just hug you all, and thank you for your good wishes! You all really help to perk up my mood, when I read your comments and posts!
Vash: Mamma looks like she's been sucking lemons all night!
Mamma: No one likes a tattle tale!
Vash:(grins)Oh, but what I know...
Wolfwood:Yeah, and what I know about you, needle noggin! Lets go and sow the grass seeds..

The grass is coming up dark green. We had some bald spots, due to GOPHERS! When life seems serious, at least out in So Cal you can bet something odd will occur and save the day!
The virus is unfortunately still hanging on, a little better so I haven't missed anymore work--but this weekend is... you guessed it -- Night Patrol! So far no calls. Yesterday I had to go to orthopedic clinic for my hand-- a little better, no major changes, but no major loss of ground either. Putting the brace back on for support. Oh, well.
What I like least about the virus is that it steals my creativity-- I feel if I knocked on my head, it would sound like a hollow can!

You all are really special! :: hugs:: I'll be getting to your sites tonite...may you all catch the evening star, make a wish, and it be granted. I got my wish, and that is friends like you all!

Love and peace (biscotti and donuts and yes! the oven has been repaired!)

First the left foot, then ?
My head gets so foggy when I get a cold or fever. But we never get enough time off to really beat the bug. I've been trying to get the house ready for visitors, but this does not work well when you feel so muddled, that you end the day with the place more of a disaster, because of tearing everything apart to find keys, etc I misplaced because I can' t concentrate! To show what stupid things I do with a fever, I was sitting in bed with a soda, because I felt so thirsty and dry. The next thing I knew, I fell asleep, dropped the beverage which went all over. I have since spent several hours with loads of laundry. I did go out briefly to get some coloured pencils for facial tones,, I ended up at a real art store-- no crafts. There was a neat cartridge manga pen, which has wonderfully dark ink, and with a cartridge, I can't spill it in my "muffin head" state.

You all are most kind, wishing me feeling better, and giving me ideas of something to beat this little bug. Definitely will try some of the teas! But despite my foggy head, a few things were accomplished. Check out Caprice's site-- she has a list of 21 important things to remember, and its something worth sharing with friends.

Hoping everyone has placed the garlic in front of the door to keep the viruses out... no , wait, isn-t that to keep the werewolved out? Well, we'll have to rethink that. Stay well everyone! Art will be coming!

Not Another Cold
Real short post today. I went into work, feeling I had conquered a little virus I had, but as the day got longer, the drips, and fatigue, and just feeling fuzzy headed! But, I did go and vote (had circled my choices in the booklet a while back. Not sure how much sense I'm making , so I think its time to head to bed again. Will visit tomorrow.
