The Japanese Bicentennial
I recently read a brief history book on the 200 years of Japan's "awakening" (It just happened to take 200 years). I suppose that's why I asked your opinions on the Iraq war. There's no explicit parallel to the awakening of Japan, but the possibility of a Dictator rule would have been imminent had American Troops been withdrawn from Iraq as it had been in Japan (Even though the leadership was determined to be an empire (think StarWars)). The pattern in history shows that following a change for the better, a change for the worse will follow. Only a country with humility and self-control will properly recover from its downfall. Japan was merely violent about it and the radical young officers in Japan's military were the source of the problem. It was one of our countries greatest mistakes, but we gave them the ultimate sedative... the atomic bomb. Luckily, Japan has been able to forgive us over the years since, and they have begun to create staggering jumps in commerce and education since the War. The one thing that I really hope that America is doing in Iraq is that kind of preventative measures. I pray that Iraq one day has a booming commerce as well as a prevailing air of peace.

New Job

Well, I'm here at my new job now and there isn't too much going on. I suppose that's alright, but there is a slight feeling of anxiety around my desk. The lack of stacks of old papers is comforting, although that had been entirely my fault...

I'm no longer in a box (a "closet" - if you will) and my boss is in the same room as me now. I'm sure that I'll be getting work done 0_0;

There's really no downsides aside from that. I really have to comment on the free sodas in the break room XD. It's really wonderful when I'm not working... which, is all I've done so far.

A-kon (not the "musician")

This past weekend was a blast! My friend (Caesar1280), flew down from Tennesee for the con and spent all his money (I kinda envy his ability to do that -_-;;;). He bought an authentic Japanese Kimono (I want one... but I'll just have to wait until my globetrotting days arrive...).

Shwiggity shwag:
-NERV satchel bag
-Appleseed #1 - Japanese version
-Slight ego boost (I am THE guitar hero n1nj4)
-Rum in my system (more on that in a moment... maybe)
-Picture of Kenshin
-Decal of GIR
-A new love of sleeping on the ground
-Negima vol. 14
-A need to make an Engrish to English translation dictionary
-Something else... can't remember... GAH!

Well, I slept on the floor which wasn't cold... but the A/C blew cold air that landed directly on me during the night, so I woke up shivering. I decided that if I wasn't going to spend too much money, I'd at least buy a bag to put the stuff I did have into... too bad packing light means using smaller bags for me (Dang boyscout brainwashing! ...at least I can be packed in under an hour).
I had never been drunk before, and according to Caesar... and how much I saw he was drunk... I was barely tipsy... He asked me not to go into the advanced physics of his drunken state.

No questions today, and I've got a task to do now... hopefully I'll see you tomorrow!

Itterashaimasu! Ganbatte! and whatever!
(please correct me if any of these are incorrect)

The last day at my EASY job...
That's right... I decided I'm gonna need a decent sized weekend to cram a whole convention into, so I'm turning in my last time-sheet today. Sadly, that means I'll have to say this is my last post for the week, unless some really nice person lets me spend a couple of hours on their laptop at the con... *thinks: probably not*.

Stabbed through the heart of the cards

I'm also giving up on "Magic: The Gathering" (the trading card game I play) I'm just gonna sell my cards to some other schlup and get on with my life... It's not that I don't enjoy it, because lately... no, it is because I don't enjoy it anymore. I think I'll be happy with the other, more cost effective games I've been playing (D&D RPG and Minis). That and I think there's alot of money I can get out of the cards I have now. Just gotta organize them and... no, I must not organize them alone. They will draw me back in with their addictive p0w3r. I shall leave them under my bed for a while until I am mentally prepared to extract them.

Questions:

There's not much to my half-way to completely unreliable suggestion of giving up an addiction I've had for about four years now, so here's some questions:

1) Have you ever been to a Convention (anime or otherwise)?

2) What's your position on the Iraq war?

3) Why does your position make sense to you?

4) Have you ever read a history book because you wanted to (for reasons other than school)?

Just some controversial questions to stir the pot... I like to know this kind of stuff, and I'm currently reading about the Bicentennial of Japan.

Wow, this weekend was ???
Friday's lunch plans with my new boss were canceled when he remembered about his friend's daughter's graduation, I stopped by before he left and I think I got another employee in trouble with the plans he had lent me to "take notes on" (It involves the boy's bathroom at a high school building site... 'nuff said). I really think that impressed him.

Friday night, I helped my friend throw his going away party (he's off to join the Army) and I finally got paid back the money he owed me (it's nothing compared to the money another friend owes me... at least that was money already spent). Apparently, as I heard that someone said to someone else that I'm something like the greatest Guitar Hero player ever (I have to disagree), because I played through more than half of the game on expert level without a memory card in a matter of an hour (I was the entertainment). I really think this A-kon will be that much more awesome because of my skillz in that game (and being in my ninja costume... while playing it).

Saturday was there... it just was and I enjoyed my sleep. That night I stayed up for a midnight showing of Evil Dead 2 in a theater near downtown. I hadn't seen it before even though I've seen Army of Darkness (part 3 of the trilogy) five times. It was wonderful that the gore was in the three primary colors of light (RGB) - just something I had noticed by the end of the movie.

Sunday was once again there... just like Saturday... I had dinner with my college group friends (as per usual), and I went home to sleep...

Monday was there... It might have been a day off for everyone (including myself this time!), but it was still a Monday. I had dinner with my parents and brother and his wife and her parents. My nephew actually behaved himself mostly (amazing), and I drew a picture of Elmo for him and tore it off the newspaper (I was doing a Sudoku puzzle). He wanted more than that, so he took half the puzzle when he tore off a chunk... ::twitch:: that was a hard puzzle...

Here I am again today - daily grind - no paid holiday... last three days of work. I'm excited and bored at the same time. All I have for you is a new bit of 'Ninja Kai':

Chapter 3: Part 4

The best way to describe Konsetsuo's house was literally to not call it a house. A compound would be more accurate, yet still not good enough. A huge courtyard surrounded by walls more than twice as tall as Kai butted up against a gate that rivaled the design of the one at the front of the village. In the center, a large building rose two floors above the ground and weakened everything with it's regal stature.

"Hello," someone said as Kai stood gawking at the grand architecture.

"Oh, hi. I need to see Konsetsuo's parents."

The older man eyed Kai sternly. "What business do you have with them?" His eyes showed pity towards Kai.

"I was told to return something to them."

"They are busy right now. I would be happy to deliver... What is it, now?" The large man was now blatantly suspicious of Kai.

"Um, nothing. I'm more than willing to come back when either one has returned," Kai offered

"Nonsense!" the man bellowed, "What could someone who could at most be an apprentice ninja have to deliver that's so important? Why can't I hold it for my brother?"

"Please sir," Kai tried to say calmly, "May I wait for one of them to show up?"

"It could be hours, or maybe even a day before they return."

"I can return after my training to see if they are back."

Konsetsuo's uncle now fixed his dark eyes on the bundle on Kai's back. Kai barely noticed how swiftly he had grabbed it, but the bundle was now in his hands. He unwrapped the bundle and the broken blade fell to the ground.

"NO! The sword of Miho!" he cried aloud. He turned his gaze to Kai as he gripped the hilt tightly. "YOU! YOU did this! DIDN'T you?"

As Kai backed away slowly, his gaze followed. "You have brought dishonor not only on myself and my brother's son, but the entire Miho clan! If you wish to live, leave our land now!"

Kai turned and ran at top speed from the Miho compound. He didn't look over his shoulder, but he ran until he was at the steps of the Karada building in the center of town. His breathing was heavy when he turned to listen and see if someone had been following him.

"What business do you have here, Kai?" came a voice from behind.

Kai had forgotten the voice, he guarded himself as he turned to see Gaijinkage's pleasantly unaware face.

"What's the matter, Kai?"

"Konsetsuo's *gasp* uncle *gasp*," Kai said, still out of breath.

"Oh, don't worry about him... Aren't you supposed to be at the academy?"

"I was given permission to *gasp* return Konsetsuo's *gasp* sword to his parents. *gasp* I broke it when *gasp* Konsetsuo attacked me yesterday. *gasp*"

"He attacked you? That boy has to get his head on straight before someone knocks it off. And now it seems Kensei has sworn another blood oath. Damn, if it weren't already too hard to keep this village running..."

"Sir, why does the Miho family seem to hate me?"

"Don't make hasty judgments, Kai. You've only met Konsetsuo and his uncle. The two of them wouldn't think twice about hating you for giving a compliment. I don't intend to give you a history lesson, but the Miho clan holds honor in high regard, and sometimes someone will define honor in a more radical way... Did you say you broke the Miho sword? ...You defeated Konsetsuo in sword combat?"

"Sword combat is incorrect, because I didn't have one, but yeah I managed to break the sword before he could kill me. And when Konsetsuo's Uncle took the sword from me, he did call it the Miho sword."

"Konsetsuo was the heir and he lost in combat? Kai, you must walk with me to the training grounds! Kensei may not have any mercy left for you since he let you run from their house. I can't risk your assassination! Least of all because of acting in self-defense!"

yep, "danger will robinson" ::flails arms around::
This part had a ton of revising compared to the normal amount... Gah! I've got to check my email!

Questions:

1) What's one thing you would change about the American educational system?
2) What's your favorite kind of uniform?
3) I'm hungry, what should I eat?

Have a great day, and thank you for the comments!

Guaranteed new position!
Starting Monday after A-kon, I'll be returning downtown for my "training" if you will in this new career kick-off type job. Hopefully I can kick this jobs ass and get my momentum going on this.

Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End

If you've not seen it, don't worry because this post contains no spoilers! Maybe just trans-fat...

It was wonderfully done, and I can almost be entirely sure there wont be a fourth movie... It's hard to tell if you leave before the credits are over... Keith Richards played Jack's brother wonderfully and Johnny Depp was indeed even more crazy in this movie than the other two. The story has an unbeatable climax, and the plot twists are everywhere. It's a very good screenplay - I don't have a book to compare it to to decide if the tale was butchered or not, so I have absolutely nothing to complain about aside from the obvious "cheating of the system" Disney did to outshine Spiderman 3 and Shrek 3 in the box office takings. Opening your movie at 8:00pm the day before is nice, but the fact is that it cheats the system. Release date is today, not yesterday at 8:00!

I don't think I'll be wearing my ninja costume to anymore theaters though. Someone (who shall be called uppity and known to have the proverbial stick up one's ass) called the police on me and I ended up missing the first five minutes of the movie. Can't a guy who is obviously in costume carry a wooden sword around? I didn't swing it at anybody either, yet the sword was confiscated (the douche-bag said I was swinging apparently). I find out later that the people doing their "civic duty" (give me a break Batman!) had two other people's swords confiscated. Luckily, the cops found me in a less than insane mood last night and they allowed me to have my sword back at the end of the movie. [Lame ass over-protective parents too afraid of psycho-killers in one of the safest areas of north Dallas!!!]. Good thing I played down my insanity so well though, because they could have convicted me of a felony OMG (I'm not really insane either...you can check my third-most recent quiz result).

Questions:

1) If I were you and you were me, would saying something to me count as talking to yourself?
2) Look! A volcano that's erupting Chocolate sauce!

Here's another look at my wallpaper for those unfortunate few who can't see images from photobucket:

Story Time!!!

Chapter 3: Part 3

“I really need to find a better way up here,” Kai said to himself as he struggled up the rope he made of vines only two days ago.
“I have to agree with you,” a sweet sounding voice said to Kai. When Kai pulled himself up to the porch, he saw a raven-haired girl sitting on his windowsill. As she smiled, Kai caught himself losing his grip.
“Most of us use tool-kits to get up the trees,” she said as Kai continued to struggle at the ledge.
“A little help, please?”
The girl hopped off of the windowsill and offered him her hand.
“So, what’s your business here?” Kai asked when he finally stood on the platform.
“Well, it isn’t holding your hand, Kai.”
“Oh, sorry! My bad,” Kai said when he realized he hadn’t let go.
“Yes, so I was sent to give you this.” She handed Kai a bag about the shape of a deflated football. The black bag weighed heavily in his hand when she dropped it.
“This is your tool-kit. Before you use it, remember how it is packed.”
“Wait,” Kai stopped her when she turned away. “What’s your name?”
“Yuna,” she replied before she stepped off the platform.
Alarmed, Kai looked over the ledge just in time to see Yuna land safely 100 feet below.
“There’s just too much going on today,” Kai muttered.

Kai secured the sword by bundling it in some t-shirts he had in his car. “I knew I should have packed more shirts,” he said as the blade sliced through his ‘Body by Nintendo’ shirt.

‘I wonder why she was sent to give me my tool-kit. I’ll ask Booshi later at training. Right now is the scary part… If Konsetsuo is so messed up, I don’t want to imagine how his parents are.’

...HOORAY! This is my first stab at an "awkward situation" in my writing, I liked it. Yuna is going to be a major character in my story, so watch out for her.

"What a dork!" - my sister after reading this

Yeah, she loves the story and threatens to punch me when I don't write for awhile. I'm not so wary of her threats, because well... she's always punching me anyways and it doesn't really hurt. Just a good reason to keep writing and avoid more of her "punishment". I've had excuses, and they always tend to make me feel like less of a writer... blah blah blah. Ah well, I intend to make this a comic someday, and the story has to be there first...

Questions:

Well, this doesn't mean the end of the post this time:

It actually kinda feels awkward to answer these... Back to Writing...

I'm actually going to be writing ahead now, so I can have something new every week (even if I have writer's block). I'm gonna be tempted to post more and more often the story, because I don't want to hide anything about it from my number one audience (yeah, that's you guys!). I've got most of part 4 written now, and it isn't nearly as short as this most recent part (sorry about that! ^-^). I'll post it next Wednesday unless I have about four part written ahead, then I'll post it earlier...

New Job

I'll have to probably make some adjustments to my posting schedule and everything, so I'll be happy to post as much as I can when I can. (I really need a computer at home if I'm gonna post anything worthwhile to read & my hand is starting to cramp when I write the story by hand).

I'll have more details next week since I'm going to have lunch with my new boss on Friday. I'll be really glad to work downtown (so much good food!).

New Wallpaper Project

This'll take awhile, because only the covers of the MT books have color on them (as well as my lack of daily time on the computer), I'll have to search my 'paper' site to see if there are any MT Scans or scan my own in there (which will need color). The MT fans have spoken and it seems the wall goes to 1337 M4573R L4RG0! I'd also have jumped at the chance to make a Junpei Wallpaper... That is definitely the next one I get to (if ever...).

Thanks for all of your comments! I don't know what I'd do if I was still here and was never getting any input on my ideas. I thank you all for your opinions and reassuring my lack of insanity. You're all good friends!

I'm NOT Procrastinating!!!!
No, seriously, I'm not putting it off for another day this time because I'm unable to will myself to do so. I left my jump drive at home after writing down my story in Word for everyone. I had it ready and I even introduced a new character... one even I didn't expect to see while I wrote it, but the awkward moment I realized that I was writing allowed the perfect opportunity... Ah, well you'll have to wait for tomorrow then. So sorry.

New Job!!1

(yeah, the 1 was on purpose)
My last couple of weeks here at the old Richland Campus facilities is coming to a close. The final week of work is now here and I have only to look forward to going downtown everyday (I love the city). I may just have a working computer at home by the end of the summer (I just hope it's not another eMachine - or almost as bad - a Compaq). I'm really not gonna be happy if I can't post a daily blog anymore, I'll at least have to write one up the night before at home... but then all those pictures that I'd not be finding on DevArt... I'll miss my scanner too, although it will be at home and yet unplugged from any known PC...

...Look at me ranting about all that I could miss. I should be happy about the job I landed! Good thing my new boss likes comics and has respect for junior college students, too. I really hope this new occurrence doesn't mess up all that I've found on MyO, even if it does make my future much brighter.

Hmm, drawings

speaking of drawings, I drew a picture of the character I'm introducing in tomorrow's episode of Ninja Kai. I'm really proud of how this picture came out:

Cute, huh? I haven't been able to match the same emotion I felt out of this sketch, and I must have drawn her face about ten times now. Anyway, I'll be sitting here doing projects I'll never see the end of and maybe playing a little Emerald/Pearl action if I can get around to it.

Questions:

1) Should I do a MegaTokyo BG? (I'll use a scan)
2) If so, what character?
3) Does this website make me look fat?

Fist Full of Fingers
Yep, five of 'em. That is five volumes of MegaTokyo. I was visited by my grandmother and great-aunt on Saturday. I got a $50 from my Aunt Mary and almost immediately went to Barnes & Nobel to get volumes 3&5. I can almost no longer wait for volume six... Too bad the story for it (chapter 9) isn't even finished yet. I won't mob him, but if Fred Gallagher is at A-kon, I'll have to get the series signed.

Drawing

Friday night was pretty cool, I play 'Magic: The Gathering' and I wasn't doing too well. I dropped out of the tournament and forced people to give me ideas of things to draw (requests, if you will). One guy mentioned Ninja Penguins, I happily obliged:

Another guy said Spiderman, good thing I had a reference image or twelve right in my face at this comic book store, or the costume would have been terribly wrong:

I think this is the first time I've ever drawn a known superhero. Another one I'd have to dig out is Apathy Guy. There's not much story to go with him... Goth superheroes that aren't Batman are so lame. Then again, Batman in the early days was not Goth at all... Ah well, there's not enough time to reveal all that I know and don't know about the world of comic book superheroes, and there's not enough creativity in me right now to do anything else in this post. You can definitely look forward to reading my next part of Ninja Kai this week (now I just have to write it...).

Questions:

1) Do you speak any languages other than English?
2) Have you been to any countries where that is the language spoken?
3) What type of computer do you use?

Answers from me:

1) I can speak Spanish, and I'm currently teaching myself Leet. I've got a Japanese text book that I taught myself from awhile back, and I have some basic knowledge of it.

2) Sadly, I've never been to a country that has a specific spoken language (USA hasn't chosen one, and I've never left... I sure hope they go with English or leet if they do choose a language), and the people who speak Leet haven't been forced to live in a penal colony yet, therefore, no countries that sp33k 1337 317h3r.

3) I use a DELL. The one provided to me by the school I work at. I had an eMachine at home, but it committed suicide... I posted a picture of my EmoMachine before...

Fare well compatriots and have yourself a wonderful day!

Job Interview
I just got off of the train at about an 12 o'clock, and I might have had one of the best interviews ever! I keep forgetting to ask questions about the work they show me. No worries, though! I may be there to draw 3D models more than other things. I'd be happy remaining stupid for awhile and just making models. Then again, I'd be more useful if I actually learned the stuff I'm working on... Job interviews always leave me with mixed emotions, I'm fairly sure I've got the job, but I'm not going to get my hopes up...

If indeed I do get this job, I'll have less time to spend on MyO and a much greater need of a working computer at home in order to bring you the best of the otaku news story that appears to be of my life...

Short Post

Questions:

1) Does anything scare you more than public speaking (other than dying)?

2) Are you a cat person or a dog person (or neither - if that, elaborate)?

3) Have you read/watched Genshiken? read MegaTokyo? If both, which do you think is better?

4) What's your favorite thing to draw? If you "can't" draw (I believe everyone can, it just takes practice), what would you most like to draw?"

5) Are you willing to have conversations with complete strangers on a train or bus or other public transportation?

Answers to my Questions:

1) Mystery meat... or Cher (sorry if you're a fan)
2) Definitely a dog person, I don't like cats too much. There's no interaction (or hardly any thats not centered on the cat).
3) Yes, and yes. I like MegaTokyo better, because it deals more with stuff I care about in my books like ninjas and 1337 5K1LLZ. Genshiken, on the other hand deals with strange and less funny topics (maybe its the translation).
4) I like drawing ninjas. I can't really say anything to surprise you can I?
5) As long as they don't start asking what street I live on, or where I work exactly. Today was awkward on the train, so while this guy was talking to me I started to draw a face. I got some compliments after the blue lines were done. I did alright considering the bumps in the rail.

Thank you all for your comments and support! See you next Monday if I can't get online this weekend!
