Image hosted by Photobucket.com

and here, as promised, is "Smooth" by Santana.

Man it s a hot one
Like seven inches from the midday sun
I hear you whisperin words that will melt everyone
But you stay so cool
My munequita, my spanish harlem mona lisa
You re my reason for reason
But step in my groove

And if you said
This life ain t good enough
I would give my world to lift you up
I could change my life to better suit your mood
Because you're so smooth

An it s just like the ocean
Under the moon
Well that's the same as the emotion
That I get from you
You got the kind of lovin
That can be so smooth
Give me your heart, make it real
Or else forget about it

I ll tell you one thing
If you would leave it d be a cryin shame
In every breath and every word
I hear your name callin me out
Out from the barrio
You hear my rhythm on your radio
You feel the turning of the world
So soft and slow turning you round and round

And if you said
This life ain t good enough
I would give my world to lift you up
I could change my life to better suit your mood
Because you're so smooth

An it s just like the ocean
Under the moon
Well that's the same as the emotion
That I get from you
You got the kind of lovin
That can be so smooth
Give me your heart, make it real
Or else forget about it

EDIT: have you ever just randomly out of the blue felt like you want to be somewhere? I just have. I wanna be in New York City. I like the feeling I get when im in NYC. I wanna be there. oh well, ill mkae do with Devon. -_-;;

ciao!

*walks out into sun, puts on shades and goes to find Luna*

FURTHER EDIT: 5H17, i cant seem to get away from here. ne hoo, the reason i came back is I want you guys to try this thing I found. It made me laugh.

ALL YOUR BASE ARE BELONG TO US!!!
good morning everyone. well, sorta. its pissing down with rain here. (d'oh!) oh well. welcome to England, where you can recieve rain snow and sun all within a month of each other. order our special package and well throw in a hurricane for free!

its still pretty warm though, so I guess I can't complain.

I got my exam timetable yesterday. I got a clash again this year. My music exam and one of my comms exams are on the same date at the same time. Luckily this year I have the afternoon free so I can do one of the exams then, but i'll have to be in isolation between exams. but its better than last year. Last year I had three exams on the same day. I had to do two of them back to back, then the third in the afternoon. I was knackered.

ne hoo, enuff about me. instead of a comic today (which i didnt have time to do yesterday) I've got a anime review instead.

DARKE SECRET TECHNIQUE: ANIME REVIEW!!!

MOBILE SUIT GUNDAM 0080: WAR IN THE POCKET

At 6 episodes long, this is the shortest Gundam series. (other than one-off movies like GUNDAM F91) However, the creators manage to weave a powerful and intense story into those 6 episodes about the tradgedy of war.
Young Al is a resident of Side 6 colony Libot. He and his friends long to be a part of the One Year War that is raging on. He dreams of Mobile Suits and his hobby is collecting war memrobilia. His life is turned upside down when a Zeon pilot gets shot down within the colony. Bernie Wiseman is the pilot, and he is assigned to a special team called the Cyclops Force. Their mission: Locate and capture or destroy the Newtype Gundam being built within Side 6.
Al some how manages to get involved with Bernie and the Zeon team. Little do they know that the pilot of the new Gundam, Code-named the ALEX, is Al's good-looking red head neighbour, Christina McKenzie. Bernie, Al and Christina become good friends without ever realising their plight.
The Cyclops force attempt to capture the ALEX with their new MS: Kampfer. However, the attempt fails and soon Bernie is the only one left alive. Zeon are desperate, so unless the Gundam is destroyed by christmas, they will blow up the colony with nuclear weapons. The three friends are heading for tradgedy. How will it be resolved? Watch and find out.

I really liked Gundam 0080. Its probably the only Gundam series where you hope the Gundam will be destroyed so that the colony will be saved. The Zeon, normally the bad guys, are shown in a different light. The Cyclops Team are the guys you end up rooting for, almost. When they get killed, you can't help but feel sad. Bernie and Chris are really likable characters, and Al is okay too, but annoying sometimes. The final fight between Chris and Bernie is really intense, it had me on the edge of my seat. The real tragedy is that they don't even know that they are fighting each other.
The mech designs are interesting, although we don't see enough of the Kampfer. The ALEX gets limited action too, only in the last three episodes, on the second disc, do we see it do anything. I dont mind though, ALEX is one of my favourite Gundams. (the Master Grade model is standing on my desk as I type) The opening action scene between the Cyclops Force and the Feds Cold Climate GMs is brilliant and gives you a taster of what the series will be like.
The battle between the Cyclops Force and the ALEX is particularly brutal and bloody. no censors here people, this is as close to reality you will get (apart from the slightly dated animation).
The real force behind the series is its story line, and its message about war. War is not a game, it is not fun. It is serious and tradgic, for both sides of the conflict. It also effects civilians as well. Whether through terroist attacks that are followed by war, or by certain actions within the war, everyone is effected. Words cannot describe how I felt whilst watching the series, it really made me think, and I really enjoyed it.

The music is dated, as this was created late 1980s and the animation shows this as well, it being one of the older styles of anime. Its still endearing though, and was fun to watch.

The DVDs come with tonnes of extras, so that should keep you busy.

FINAL ANALYSIS: When it comes to the mini-series, (War in the Pocket, Stardust Memories and 08TH MS team) I have to say that 08th MS Team is my fav, with War in the Pocket a close second. 08th MS team is newer and better animated, and i enjoy the story line. However, this review is about War in the Pocket, so I would totally recommend seeing this series at least once if you are a die-hard Gundam fan (like me). If you're into mech battles and high action content, then this series is probably not for you. However, if you like your anime thought-provocative and meaningful, then I suggest you give this a go, even if you're not a Gundam fan. You wont be dissapointed.

FINAL THOUGHTS: This series is so detailed and descriptive, alot of thought has been put into it. As MAHQ.net says: "In Gundam Wing, hundreds of people could die in one episode, and it's meaningless. In this series, one person dies, and it means everything"

END REVIEW

hope you enjoyed the review. If you didn't, well. *sticks tongue out*

see if i care...

ciao.

EDIT: ooh, Azumanga Daioh mp3s... *download*

My hands are tied, the billions shift from side to side and the war goes on with a brainwashed pride...
"Civil War" Guns N Roses

Hiya everyone. how was your weekends? mine was awesome! w00t.

First off though, a small problem. On friday, two packages came for me. One was the one I was expecting, my 1/144 scale Red Frame, 08th Ms Team vol 1 DVD and "Gundam 0080: War in the Pocket" vol 2. which is good. HOWEVER!

in the other package was a copy of "Gundam 0080, War in the Pocket" Vol 2.

so now I have two copies of "War in the Pocket" Vol 2. what had happened was I had asked Amazon to look for a copy for me cuz no one seemed to have one. and I forgot it was looking for me, so when i saw a copy of the DVD on GundamMad, i ordered it. Now it seems that Amazon found a copy of it as well for me. -_-;

so. anyone want a brand new mint condition copy of "Gundam 0080: War in the Pocket" vol. 2? I really recommend it. its a very good story. i might review it tomorrow.

the weekend was good too. The Intro Day for Operation Raleigh was fun. I put my name down for Malaysia next year. It will be ten weeks slogging it out in the jungle doing community and environmental work. i cant wait. I just have to raise £3000 in funds plus about another £2000 for stuff thats not included in the first £3000. *sigh*

I didnt go to the party in the end. i was too tired. Besides, I had also stopped off in Forbidden Planet on the way home from the Intro Day (i can't help it, im addicted to anime!) and bought Love Hina DVD vol 4 and Patlabor manga vol.1 ^^ so yeah, I spent saturday evening watching that and putting together my new model. ^^

yesterday was okay I guess. I was really tired. (still am -_-; ) but i got thru work and spent the afternoon doing some drawing. whcih was fun. ^^

I did have a little crisis last night though. I forgot when my mums birthday was. (oops) I couldn't remember if it was the 21st (i.e TODAY!) or the 29th. I had to text my brother in NY to find out. Luckily it was the 29th. i have to go buy her a pressie. I think she's 41 this year.

here's todays strip. Im not taking my clothes off, despite the fact that the weather is awesome here, todays strip is kinda about clothes.

have a good week y'all.

oh, one more thing. On wednesday I break up for Easter break, so I wont be on for about two weeks. Gomen.

ciao.

   PH34R MY N33D PHOR B33R!
yeah, okay i went out drinking last night. I didn't have that much though. Just enough to make me sleep in about an hour longer than i should have done. oh well.

today is a boring day, but i dont mind. its actually warm and sunny this side of the pond for once. its like we skipped spring and went straight to summer. ^^

also hopefully some stuff i ordered online should be here soon. I ordered Red Frame Astray (thats the Gundam in my BG pic) as well as some DVDs. they should be here by Monday latest. Gundam Mad are very good at delivering.

Tomorrow I have to get up early. I need to go up to London, cuz I have a taster day for Operation Raleigh. If you dont know what O:R is, check out their website here Im really looking foward to it cuz
1: I get day off work
2: I get to go up to London, which I love going to. It R0X0R5 MY 3V3R LUV1NG BOX0R5!! and if the weather is good, thats a plus.
3: I might get the opportunity to go Forbidden Planet and buy anime/manga. not too much though, easter is not that far away. ^^; gotta save my money to buy people easter eggs.

so yah, hopefully tomorrow will go good. I've also been invited to a freinds party at his house. he lives quite a way away, but he throws awesome parties and his house is huge, so it would be cool if I could go. only problem is that I got work the next day. >.< stupid work. ah well, gotta pay the bills some how.

thats it from me for today. hope you guys have a great weekend and Ill see you all on monday.

here's todays strip.

*takes off his clothes.*

   WARNING! STEREOTYPED GREETING AHEAD
Top o' th' Morning to ye all.

Yes, its St.Patricks day. The patron saint of Ireland. The day where british people forget their british for a day and celebrate being Irish, even if they're not. Seriously, we pay more attention and have a bigger celebration on St.Paddys day then we do on St.Georges day (i.e, Patron saint of England) -_-; not that i really care to be honest. I was gonna go out drinking anyway, so any excuse i guess. ^^

I was however, in the bathroom this morning when my next door neighbour shouted out to somebody in a bad Irish accent...

"top o th morning to ya! its st patricks day..." and some other stuff. I wanted to stick my head out the window and shout at him (in an Irish accent) "oi, do you mind? some of us are trying to sleep!"
of course I wasnt, but still, its very rude to yell out that time of the morning so everybody can hear you. he's probably gonna have a party later knowing him. loud music till the crack of dawn. *sigh* b4574rd.

*looks at previous posts* hmm. so when im bored and have no ideas, lots of people comment, and when i have random and funny ideas, few people comment. tis a strange and weird world we live in. ho hum.

Have a great day whatever you are doing today. see ya tomorrow.

no strip today, i forgot to scan it in last night and didn't have the time this morning. Gomen.

Random Thought: uh...*puts on Irish accent* Top o th morning to ye all. there be a pot o gold at the end o th rainbow, but only if ye kin find me lucky charms. Im gonna go and have a pint o guiness and a po-TAY-toe and hide from all the genuine Irish people who are goin ta beat me for putting on such a lame Irish stereotype. Begorrah.

Mr.P: I am in.

Darke: How dare you enter my site!

Mr.P: that was the only way I could get in!

Darke: Enough! Why can't I see you?

Mr.P: Im hiding in the piano as a piano string.

Darke: Which string are you?

Mr.P: I think im a G-string.

Darke: So thats why I cant see you!

Mr.P: seriously, Im not sure what string I am so you will have to play a scale.

Darke: *presses a key* Doh?

Mr.P: No.

Darke *presses next key* Re?

Mr.P: No.

Darke: *Presses next key* Mi?

Mr.P: Mi, thats ME!

*gets out of piano*

Darke: Good Heavens, youre three feet taller than you used to be. What happened?

Mr.P: Some swine sent in a piano tuner. Anyway, what do you need me for?

Darke: I seem to be missing humour from my site. I need to to find some for me at the risk of shortchanging yourself.

Mr.P: I'll have you know Sir that I am a Patriotic English Gentleman!

Darke: Which means?

Mr.P: Which means Ill only do it for money.

Darke: Fine, here's a photograph of a ten pound note.

Mr.P: Wait. How do I know this isn't a forgery?

Darke: Heres a life size oil-painting of me holding the tenner up to a light so you can see the watermark.

Mr.P: but this painting shows you clean shaven!

Darke: I was wearing an invisible beard!

Mr.P: Great scott. You chinese think of everything.

Darke: But im not chinese!

Mr.P: then you must have forgotten something. you should be more careful. give me the money.

*ker-ching*

Darke:will you find humour for todays post?

Mr.P: Well personally im not sure if your audience will appreciate british humour.

Darke: I'll take it.

Mr.P: then that will be twenty pounds.

Darke: Here's a recording of a blank cheque.

*white noise*

Darke: fill in the label for any amount you like.

Mr.P: Ta. and here is your code.

Darke: I will post now.

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

Darke: Hang a sec. You sold me a picture I drew.

Mr.P: well we are one and the same person.

Darke: true. you must get out of here now. Photograph this photograph of secret plans, record them on tape, swallow them, raise your right leg and leave the country.

Mr.P: whats that got to do with things?

Darke: I don't know, im being random today. My muse must be back. Quick stop her before she gets away.

*screech of tyres, sound of car moving away.*

Darke: damn she got away on a recording of a car. Mr.P, follow that car!

Mr.P: okay. *walks off*

Darke: I had better follow him.

*sound of footsteps fading away*

Darke: Hmm. Id better follow my feet as well. Hup!

*sound of darke bouncing away*

remember. its all in the mind dear readers. its all in the mind...it says here in small print.

i will do another comic strip tonight. i should have the time.

must be something in the air...
alot of people seem to be recovering from sickness. oh well. I guess recovering is better than suffering.

Today is Red Nose Day, or Comic Relief Day here in England. Basically we are encouraged (by the BBC) to do silly things for money, and then donate that money to the Red Nose appeal which then goes to help people in Africa and stuff. I have my red nose with me today, although Im not wearing it at the mo, my nose is too runny.
Tonight theres gonna be a TV pledge drive with celebrities and stuff, and lots of money being donated. its a bit of a laugh, and its twenty years old this year. ^^

Thats it from me today. Have a great week end y'all.

heres todays strip.

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

I need to figure out how to resize these damn things properly. PSP on my laptop doesnt do it properly.

ciao for now.

Random Thought: If all the world were paper and all the seas were ink, if all the trees were bread and cheese what would we do for drink?

well that took a lil longer than I had hoped...
heh heh ^^;

sorry guys. i've been ill all week. I took time off school and havent been able to get online. Heck, on monday I didn't have the energy to drag myself out of bed. Not even to turn on the tv whcih was all of three feet away. gosh darnit.

so yah. sorry for not updating and stuff. blame my puny immune system. I still feel like 5h17, but at least thats better than feeling like d34th warmed up...to about 103 degrees which was what my temp was on Monday...

I tell you one thing though. You have some interesting dreams when you're feverish...

still, thats over, pretty much...

I went out last friday and bought Getbackers Vol 1 on DVD. its really quite good. ^^

i also got "Hero" on DVD too.

and I also got my scanner!! yay w00t! its was...interesting...getting it home on my scooter. it was bigger than i expected.

so now...

the moment you've all been waiting for...

the return of...

CHIBI DARKE DAYS!!!

^^ now i gotta go and figure out my CDD website...thats if the damn school hasn't blocked me...
I could buy the domain name "www.darkeangel.com" from yahoo for $5 a year, but id still need a program or something to set up the site the way I want it. whatever...

See ya tomorrow! (providing I don't suffer relapse)

Random Thought:
You know a really good way to unite the world in peace and harmony? get everyone in the world to simultaneously do the macarena...
