Greetings all! I hope you have all been having a great Mother’s Day! So, to any of you mothers who might read my site, happy Mother’s Day!

This past week for me has been rather hectic, like I had thought it would be. I last left you with the statement that I would be going down to visit my friends after their finals. That went really well. We hung out and just talked for the most part. I did see a movie though. I went and saw Poseidon with them. It was a really good movie. I liked it. It keeps you on the edge of your seat. I like movies like that. And, to jump forward a few days, since I’m on the topic of movies, I saw M.I.:III last night. Much better than Poseidon was. I’m not saying Poseidon was bad, I’m just saying M.I.:III was extremely good. I strongly suggest you all see both of those movies, but if you have to choose one, choose M.I.:III.

Now that the past week is taken care of as far as it’s goings on, let me enlighten you as to the way that this wonderful Mother’s Day has unfolded. Wow, has it been a long day! Heh heh. It didn’t start that way though. It started to be a rather boring day. I woke up at about 11:00 when my Mom left the house with my sister to go hang out with my aunt and cousin. They went to lunch and then saw Just My Luck (the new movie starring Lindsay Lohan). So, suffice it to say I didn’t really have much of a desire to join them. I went out back and mowed our backyard at about 11:30 after searching high and low for the keys to the shed in which we keep the lawnmower. I never found the keys I was looking for, instead I figured out that my dad had made a new set of keys for the shed. After I finished mowing the lawn at about 11:45 I decided I’d go ahead and go running. It is a nice day out, I was already in the appropriate clothes for it, and I need to start exercising anyway. So, I went running. I get back at about 12:20 and immediately go upstairs to the shower since I am all stinky and dripping with sweat. It only seemed like a nice day until I was out running in it. It really is quite hot outside. Anyway, after my cold shower I got dressed and came downstairs to take the dogs out to do their business in the freshly shorn grass. This is where my day becomes very interesting. When I get into the kitchen I find that our water filter had busted and was spraying water all over. At the point I got in there there was probably about half an inch of water already accumulated on the floor. Panic. Water. Gotta turn it off. Ignorant. Run next door. Gone. Run to the other next door. “Help!” We run back to my place and the water is turned off. Now is the wonderful task of mopping up and controlling half an inch of spreading water. Thankfully my neighbor had a large wet/dry vacuum which we used to get up most of it. I controlled the water’s spread through strategically placed bath towels. They worked sufficiently. For the most part there is no damage. But, the wooden cabinets did soak up a good amount of water and one area of the adjacent carpeting was thoroughly waterlogged. I think it’ll be all right though. But, this is not where the day ends. My mom had misread my dad’s flight itinerary. He has been gone to east Asia for the past three weeks and was returning today. She read the itinerary to say that he was landing tonight at around 6:00 PM, but that’s the time he left Tokyo. He actually landed today at around 3:00 PM. So, I get a call from him at around 3:15 asking where my mom is. So, I run to the airport and pick him up. That’s pretty much the extent of today so far. Talk about hectic.

Now, I want to follow up on a post from a few months ago. Some of you might recall my “Women of Sound” post in which I went in to detail about three female music artists that I like. In Imogen Heap’s biography I mentioned that her partner from the band Frou Frou, Guy Sigsworth, had gone on in a solo career but I had not seen anything he had done. Well, last night at around 1:00 I found what he’s been working on since the breakup of Frou Frou! He is currently the producer and songwriter for a phenomenal new female vocalist named Kate Havnevik (pictured at right). Kate hails from Oslo, Norway and sings in a style very similar to that of Imogen. I can see why Guy was attracted to her. But, she is still quite distinct from Imogen in her voice. She is quite clearly Norwegian. When I listen close to her voice, I can most closely equate it to that of Björk. I realize some of you might be thinking, "But Björk is from Iceland, not Norway." I know. But, despite that fact, the two women have similar vocal styles. Kate's first album, Melankton is currently in stores and has been showcased as an iTunes featured album. I strongly suggest you all go and listen to the clips of her songs on iTunes. Oh, how summer has come

Greetings all! I apologize greatly for not posting in a while. Summer has really hit me hard and fast. But let's not start with that. First, I just thought I'd let you all know how my finals turned out. After all, they are one of the main reasons I haven't been on TheO in a while. They went very well for the most part. I was pretty sure I aced my Biology final and I did fairly well on two other of my finals. One of them, my New Testament Survey class, pretty much ate my lunch and threw it back up on me. That was an extremely hard test. I don't know how well I did. I just prayed I got a C in the course. And, as a matter of fact I did. I got a C. My grades came out to 2 A's, 2 B's, and a C with still one course yet to post. So, i did phenomenally average this semester. Not too bad, but for me, not good enough. I want better, but it means I've got to try harder. That's the hard part. Heh heh.

Now, Just to update you all on how things have fared since my last post. My last post was a little depressing, or at least I thought it was. Well, I have worked myself out of that miniature depression. I'm doing better. Turns out all I needed was to get out and do something. And, I did. This is where summer comes into play. After my finals, I was relieved to be going home, but I didn't end up staying there very long. I was there a whole day before I went off camping with a group of my friends from my previous university. It was a blast. We camped out on Saturday night and then on Sunday we went to a renaissance festival. How fun is that?! Heh heh. I had a blast. I had never been to a renaissance festival before and so it was a new experience for me. I'd like to continue going though. It was really quite fun. But, next time I think i want to come up with some renaissance-style clothing to wear for it. Most of the people I went with dressed up for it. I felt a little out of place. So, next time things shall be different. I think if i do dress up somehow, I want to go as a scribe. I think that would be fun.

Anyway, after that wonderful weekend, I was thrown into a long day of sitting. I spent all day yesterday at a community college in my area getting admitted and registered for my summer school. I had sent in an application for admission over a month ago and had thought I'd been admitted, but in all my attempts to move on with the registration process I was hindered by their lack of response. I sent in a request for a pin number, and never got a response, I attempted to call them and try and straighten things out, but they never answered the phone. Turns out, that I had in fact not been admitted. So, I had to go through the entire process yesterday in basically one sitting. I was there for six whole hours! GAH! The system is seriously flawed, that much I know.

Well, again, I'm only home for a little bit. Tomorrow I'm going back down to my previous university to hang out with my friends down there after their finals. It should be fun. I start work and summer school next week, so I'm trying to live it up right now while I can. And, I personally think I'm doing a pretty good job of it. So, on that note, I bid you adieu. Here and Now

Greetings all. Today is Saturday. As usual, that means that I am officially bored out of my mind. Unfortunately, most of my friends here on campus sleep until 5pm on Saturdays. That doesn't help things. I had hoped to go hiking on the trail I told you about in the previous post. But, since it's raining I can't get anybody to go with me and the guys I know would come with me are still sleeping. I don't really want to go all by myself though. I'll probably end up going anyway, but I don't think it'll be nearly as fun this way. I just don't get it. I really don't. Why is it that everybody looks forward to Saturday so much? I mean, we work all week at class and stuff. We have lives during the week, and yet we all look forward to Saturday. But, what do we do on Saturdays? We all complain about how incredibly bored we are. We all sit around on our butts and fuss about not having anything interesting to do. I just don't get it.

Anyway, now that I got that off my chest, I can type about something interesting. I had my last day of class yesterday! Yay! This is both a good and bad thing for me. Good things are that the semester is almost over and I'm close to going home. The bad things are numerous and include the fact that finals are next week, I have to pack all my stuff into boxes that don't yet exist, and once I get home i'm going to be even more swamped than I am now. I get home and I have summer school and a 9 - 5 job. On top of that, the job I have is more boring than even Saturdays. I get to stand in front of a copy machine all day and run copies. YAY! I wish to God that I didn't have to work at a job so dull and boring, but it pays so well ($10 an hour) and I need the money. So, that's the look of my summer. There are a few bright points in it though. Well, two to be exact. One is the ever enjoyable A-Kon! I can't wait! My costume is not nearly done, mainly because I haven't been working on it. It's going to be very fun this year. And, the second is my family's trip to Italy in July for my sister's senior trip. I chose to go to England on mine, and she chose Italy. It should be fun! We're going to tour quite a bit of it. So, as you can see, my summer isn't all frorescent lights and copies.

Sorry for depressing you all with this post, but I've been a little depressed myself as of late. I guess it's because of the summer I have ahead of me. There's more to it though, i'm just not tuned enough into my emotions to figure out what the rest of it is. I think I'll get over it though. The people at my work are nice people and I managed to find things in it that I liked. Thursdays were response card day! We'd get responses in from potential clients throughout the US and it was my job to go through them and sort them by state, county, and type of client. Yeah, that was the highlight of my week each week. Depressing eh? Welcome to my life. Hope y'all have a great day, or at least a better one than mine. Sayonara!

Addendum On Yesterday

All right, yesterday I told you about my "still hunt" assignment for my biology lab. I left you as I was getting ready to leave to go do it. Well, I thought I would enlighten you as to what actually happened on my little adventure. To begin with , it was very fun and very cool. I enjoyed this activity thoroughly. I went out of town about 45 minutes to the Ozark National Forest and found a parking lot on the side of the highway where there was a trailhead. I, along with my towel and my notebook, took off down the trail. It was very very nice. I was the only person on the trail, it was overcast and misting that day so the colors in the forest were more pronounced. I walked about a half a mile into the forest before I found a place to sit down. It was far enough from the road that the cars just had this sort of rumbling sound in the distance. I sat down next to a large log on a slight incline looking down into a small valley with a miniscule little creekling running through it. It wasn't as hard to just sit for an hour as I had thought it would be. I mean, even in the solitude of the forest, there is a lot going on! As the slight breeze blew through the forest, it knocked off the water droplets which had accumulated due to the rain the day before and the mist that was still falling. It was so cool. I could hear the breeze coming through the forest towards me. I saw no signs of animal life whatsoever, but I did hear birds calling. There were two of them who chatted to each other the entire time I was there. I eventually decided to lay down on my back since the log had a knot in it which was digging it's new home right into the small of my back. I would have moved earlier, but for the first ten minutes of being out there we were required to sit completely and totally motionless. It started to get quite painful. I stuck with it through the pain though. The colors of the trees really are beautiful against the backdrop of the grey clouds. There is so much more color in them than just one shade of green. There are all sorts of greens and browns. To sum the experience up in a single sentance, it is the most serene I have been the entire year. I've got to do that kind of thing more often. I'm thinking about possibly going out there and camping this weekend. The only problem is that I don't have a tent or a sleeping bag here with me. I could probably scrounge those up though. It was really cool. I'd have stayed out there longer and gone on a little further into the forest or hiked the entire trail, but I was a little constrained for time. I had to come back. You all should really try it if you can. Just go away from civilization and sit in nature. I know some of you might not be able to. I'm quite blessed that I am so close to it all. And yet, even though I am so close, I haven't gone out there all year. That was the first time I had ever visited the forest since the beginning of the school year. How horrible am I. Gah! Summer Movie Preview!

Greetings all! Today is a good day, because I got my favorite "Entertainment Weekly" issue in the mail! Well, actually I got it in the mail yesterday, so really yesterday was the good day, but today is just as good! I got the annual EW Summer Movie Preview Edition! YAHOO! It is in this wonderful magazine that all of the movies for the summer season are layed out in order of when they are released. They tell you about the movie, it's genre, who's in it, what it's about, who directed it, and how big of a hit they expect it to be. It's the most informative issue of the year and it's finally here! I'm very happy.

So, for all of you unfortunate enough to not have the privilege of acquiring this god of all magazines, I shall take this time to review for you the movies I personally am looking forward to.

May
May is a big month for movies. It is always one of the biggest ones too. And, this year it is especially exciting. There are a lot of really really good movies being released which include Mission Impossible III, X-Men: The Last Stand, Over the Hedge, Poseidon, The DaVinci Code, and The Promise. Each of these movies look extraordinary. I mean, for one month to have that many movies coming out that look so good poses a real challenge for me. I don't know how I'm going to find the time or money to see them all! What a pickle, I know. So, I'm forced to pick those out of the bunch which interest me the most and see those first before I see any other ones. The one I am looking forward to the most is undoubtedly The DaVinci Code. Many people would look down upon this due to the nature of the movie and it's corresponding New York Times Bestseller by Dan Brown. But, I don't go into it with the idea that what is being shown to me is fact. I look at it as pure fiction with the likes of movies such as National Treasure and the fist and third Indiana Jones movies. Do we really believe that there is a treasure map on the back of the Declaration of Independence? No! And we shouldn't believe that Jesus Christ schtooked Mary Magdalene and lived a long and happy life with her either. It's simply fiction. It makes for a good story, but don't believe it. I'm also looking with great anticipation to the one movie on the above list that you have probably not heard of, The Promise. It's another Chinese movie in the family of Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon and House of Flying Daggers. It's a fantasy romance. I love that kind of movie and personally don't think there are enough of them. So, this should be a fun watch.

June
Not nearly as packed a month as May is. I don't really have to pick and choose what I want to see. Which means I'll probably be using portions of this month to see any May releases that I didn't get to see back when they were released. There are some good movies though. Some that look rather interesting but none that I am super ultra excited about. These movies include Nacho Libre, Click, The Break-Up, Cars, and The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift. Not much else really excites me. Kind of a boring month.

July
A slightly more interesting month than June is. There are a few big summer hits coming out this month. Definitely some stuff to be excited about, but also some stuff to really ignore. The better movies of the month include Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest, Miami Vice, My Super Ex-Girlfriend, and A Scanner Darkly. Definitely go and see Pirates of the Caribbean and A Scanner Darkly. They are the big movies you want to see. You all know about Pirates but Scanner is an interesting looking movie based on a short story by the incredible science-fiction author Philip K. Dick. It's done in a unique style and is the type of movie that will make your head spin. A definite gem for the month of July.

August
Last but certainly not least we have August. Well, actually, yeah, August is least. Not much coming out that even remotely looks interesting. But, despite that, there are some that I might go see. These include Talladega Nights:The Ballad of Ricky Bobby, World Trade Center, The Ant Bully, Snakes On a Plane, and Clerks II. you might not have heard of it, but Snakes On a Plane is already the cult hit of the summer. Buzz about this movie has been going around on the net since the movie was announced. It really doesn't look all that interesting, but it's a movie staring Samuel L. Jackson about snakes on a passenger liner. How bad could it really be. It'll be funny to watch at least.

Now for some news that directly pertains to my life. Today I have to do this thing called a "still hunt" for my biology lab. I have to go out as far from civilization as I can with nothing but the paper that has our assignment on it, a pen, and myself. I have to sit there for an hour in complete silence. Sounds fun eh? Well, it sounds incredibly boring to me. I think I'll enjoy it though. I've never done anyting like this. Who knows, I might actually really really like it. But, if i'm going to get it done before dinner tonight, I have to leave right away. So, I'll go ahead and sign off for this post. I hope you all have a great day!

Well not a whole lot has happened since last I posted a week ago. Yeah, my life goes on as normal. My Easter was a good one. I didn't go home though. That was kind of a bummer. I wish I could have gone. That's the consequence of going to college so far from home. It's just inconvenient.

A few good notes! In one of my classes, my required wellness course (it's a regular health course), I'm not doing so swell. I've gotten lazy with the class and just haven't been doing the work. I've been getting good grades when I put forth the effort to do the assignments. Unfortunately I have been very stupid and very lazy and have not been doing that. Eh, we all make mistakes every so often. Seems like I do it more than others, though. Anyway, I went and talked to that professor today. He says he'll give me free credit on the assignments if I can get them all done by the friday after next. That's sweet! I could actually come out of this class with a low A! Heh heh! Mom, you were right. I know you love hearing that.

Also, today we got a wonderful little treat! Our chapel guest today was Dennis Jernigan! That was sweet! He came and gave us an entire concert today during chapel! It was so cool! He's incredible too. I loved it. If you are wondering who Dennis Jernigan is, he's a Christian musician. He both composes his songs and sings them. So, it was really a treat to have him here. We don't get many musical guests. I was a little surprised to see him though. The man doesn't tour, so I was wondering why he was here at my university. Turns out that all three of his kids go here. I knew of a couple people hear with the last name of Jernigan, but never in my life would I have connected them with him. So, we got a wonderful little treat. Also, we get discounted CD's because we are students. I'm not all that driven to puchase a CD though. But, Mom, if you want one, let me know.

Lastly, but certainly not least of all, we had room draw yesterday. This is the time of the year when returning students get to pick which rooms they want for the following year. Unfortunately I didn't get the priviledge of participating this year. Why you ask? It's because I already have a room for next year. YAY! The guy I am going to be rooming with is "squatting" his room. Basically means that he has chosen to stay in the same room next year rather than moving. And, since I am going to be his roommate, I don't have to go through the whole room draw process. It's also a good thing because the dorm in which he is living now is the most coveted dorm on campus. It's got the largest rooms. Each room has a bathroom for itself that it shares with only the room next to it (rather than an entire hall of rooms). The room is also right next door to the laundromat. I don't have to walk down three flights of stairs to get to the laundry machines anymore! Heh heh. You have no idea how happy this makes me. Anyway, that's the last of the good news.

Now, I am a little disappointed. Nobody responded to my last post with the Shakespeare quote. Well, I did get a response, but he didn't respond to the quote. So, unfortunately, none of you get gold stars! I don't understand how you could have passed it up, but fine. If you were curious what the quote was from, that quote is from Shakespeare's Othello and was spoken by Iago. Thats all for today! I hope you all have a great day!

Yahoo! I have some great news! Heh heh. I'm quite happy. Belldandy accurately conveys my feelings as of right now. ^_^

First bit of good news, I GOT INTO MY WESTERN CIVILATION CLASS! Haha! This is awesome news! Without this class I couldn't easily proceed forward with my educational career. I was hoping to get it taken care of in summer school this... well... summer. But, unfortunately, no community colleges in my area were offering the course. The one that actually was offering it only had it at a time which couldn't work for me with my job. So, I was a little bummed. On top of that, I was put on the waitlist for the class when I tried to sign up for it last Thursday during registration. Well, I got the good news today via email that I had been taken off of the waitlist! Heh heh. Very good thing.

Second bit of good news. MY CABLE IS BACK!... sorta. One of my friends and me took a roll of scotch tape to the cable jack and taught it who was boss. The cable had become disconnected up in the jack somewhere so that when I went and pushed up on the cable, the TV came to life, but when I let go it would go dead. You're probably thinking "why didn't he just use tape in the first place?" Well, there are a couple of reasons for this. First and foremost of those being the simple fact that I didn't think it would work. The stupid cable has to be in the right position to make contact with the wire up in there that it needs to. If it's not in the right position, you either get a staticky connection or no connection at all. I simply didn't think I could get it taped in the right position to where it would stay at full clarity. The second reason is simply that I didn't think it would take almost a month for the stupid maintenance people to get up here and fix it. I mean, come on! I submitted this complaint the week before spring break! Come on! One would assume that there would be a little better service than that. A little irritating. The last reason why I didn't take a roll of tape to the jack earlier is the fact that I am just really really stupid. I've known what the problem with the cable was since it went out last month. Why this wasn't done earlier is beyond me. So, consider me slapped in the face. Heh. Yeah...

The one and only bit of bad news that I have for this post is the fact that the maintenance crew did come and check out my internet. They confirmed for me that the inernet is not to blame. So, it has been proven that it is in fact a computer issue. My internet card has most likely been fried. A real bummer. Thank you mister lightning bolt! >_<

Well! That's all! I'm glad I could finally post a post of happiness. It's been a while. And, as a little bonus for today, if someone can name the play that that Shakespeare line comes from, you will get a pat on the back from me and a big golden star! Ups and Downs, Highs and Lows

Greetings all! This week has had it’s highs and it’s lows. What better way to start a post!? Heh heh. When I can post about both good and bad stuff, it makes the post so much more interesting. All good is really boring but all bad is really depressing. Both good and bad make for a good balance. Heh heh.

Now that I got that out of my system, it has been shown that ending on a high note is much better for a writer’s audience. Therefore, I shall start with the bad news. It’s not too bad, but it’s bad enough to make it bad. I was supposed to be going on a ski trip with my college group from my church back home. I was really looking forward to it. But, unfortunately I was unable to. It just turned out to be a rather bad decision. I would be missing two classes of a course I’m already doing rather poorly in. So, I chose not to go. It really bummed me out too. I could be snowboarding down a mountain RIGHT NOW *cries*.

Also, bad news on the lack of internet. My roommate actually has internet capability. So, Thursday night while he was out making out with his girlfriend, I hooked my laptop up to his cable just to make sure that is was in fact an internet problem and not a laptop hardware problem. My laptop wouldn’t work on that cable. I still couldn’t get on the internet. So, I think what happened is the surge from the lightning bolt fried my Ethernet card. I think I needs to be replaced. I’m still going to have the maintenance guys come out here to check up on it, but I worry it won’t help any. Anyway, that’s the last of the bad news

The good news! YAY! And, there’s a lot of it today. First off, I got my schedule for next semester all laid out. Thursday morning at 7:30 I was sitting in the middle of the hallway on my computer trying to beat everybody else to the classes I wanted. I had mild success. I was literally half a second away from making it into the one and only section of Western Civilization II. I got onto the web page and it said there was one spot open. In the time it took me to move my mouse over the “Add” button and click it, someone else got the last spot. GAH! Thankfully, this means I am the first person on the waitlist, so I’ll probably get in anyway, but that doesn’t make it any less frustrating. If I don’t get in, I’m going to go to the professor and perform a phenomenal display of groveling. I need that class, badly. Another bad thing about the fact that there is only one section of the course is that it exactly falls on top of another class I really wanted to get into this semester, Photography. It’s one of the hardest courses to get into here, so I probably didn’t have much of a chance anyway, but the fact that Western Civ. II fell right on top of it, pretty much cancelled out that class for me. Grr… Everything else went well. I enrolled in 21 hours, but will probably only take 15 – 18 hours of that in the end. I enrolled in the NT class that I’m not doing that well in right now just in case I fail it. If I really start cracking right now and study my butt off I can easily walk out with at least a C. The class I just enrolled in is just a contingency plan. Mom, Dad, if you want to see my schedule, just email me or call me. Just know that what you see is not final.

All right, so the schedule thing was both good and bad news all wrapped up in one. Makes for a good seguay. The next little bit of information is all good. Over the spring break a week ago, I was in a car accident. I originally didn’t post about it because, to tell you the truth, I was embarrassed. It’s humiliating to say that I was in another accident. I know I’m a bad driver, but I hate announcing that to the world, ya know? Well, you’re probably thinking, “How is this good news?” Allow me to clear it up for you. The accident wasn’t my fault! HAHA! I was so worried it was too! Yup! This is actually a gain for me. The passenger side door panel, mirror, and fender all all bend up and need replacing as well as the back passenger side fender and panel. It was going to be a costly repair and I didn’t want to have to pay for it, or have my insurance pay for it. With the fact that it isn’t my fault, it means that the other guy’s insurance will pay for it. So, not only am I getting all of that replaced, I am getting a new paint job because we are going to be purchasing new parts (they aren’t painted). The previous owner of my car was apparently not all that bright and used some kind of odd polish which scratched the paint job all up. It looks like someone took some fine sandpaper to the entire thing. That will be covered up in the new paint job. Yay! I can also choose to paint it a different color if I wish. Not sure if I want to or not though. I kinda like black. I’ll have to think on that one for a bit. Anyway, it’s all good. So, yeah.

Lastly, a little news about what has been going on this week on campus (and the reason why you see a cute soldier woman for the pic of the day). My suite and a women’s suite have been playing two games all week. The one that the entire campus saw played out and witnessed was our week long game of capture the flag. Everybody on both teams wore flags all week and tried to steal the other team’s. At the end of each day points were tallied up. For every flag of your own team’s color, you got one point. For every flag of the opposing teams color, you got two points. The other game was a game of mafia. It wasn’t so apparent to the rest of the campus and was kinda played under the surface. Every morning there was a card placed on our doors. Depending on what card you got, you were a killer, doctor, or bystander. The two killers on either team would get together and talk about who they wanted to kill on the opposing team. If you made a successful kill you got three points. If you killed the opposing team’s doctor, the opposing team got the three points. Then at the end of the day, we would get together and guess who the killers were on the other team. A successful guess got you three points and an unsuccessful guess got you nothing. At the end of the week, the points from these two games were tallied up and whoever got the most points won. The prize was a desert prepared by the other team. I personally didn’t think my team would win, to tell you the truth. We were playing horribly and the women were clearly better strategists. Thus, I was prepared with a recipe for peanut butter chocolate chip cookies. But, lo and behold, we won. We won by only 3 points, but we won. It was a close game.

That’s about the extent of things for the week. It was a rather eventful week for me. I’m glad it’s over though. I can now go and start my wonderful Friday ritual of vegetating in front of the television for an hour of five. Have a great day and a great weekend y’all!

Bummers

Well, not too much has gone really well this past weekend. It's not that it has gone badly, no, it's just that nothing has gone well. The weekend started off like any other, boring. I didn't have much to do and therefore worked on my newest wallpaper which is the Sasuke wallpaper you can see below. The picture you see is nowhere near complete. It has progressed quite a way and is not complete and being shown off on www.animepaper.net. That is the one and only good thing that has gone on this weekend. My wallpaper was finished and accepted. I have gotten some extremely good reviews on it as well. That made me happy! But from that point on nothing has really been going as well as it should. First of all, the sasuke wallpaper is for some reason not being accepted by TheOtaku. I have submitted it twice over the past week and for some reason they are not putting it on the site. Weird, eh? Hmmm... Also, the new wallpaper I want to do is of Kiba. The problem is that the pic of Kiba I chose is of him in a very odd position. I don't know what I could possibly do with it. We'll see how it comes out. The worst part of the weekend has been the lack of cable television and the recent loss of internet capabilities in my room. My cable has been out since before spring break. But, with my boredom this weekend and the use of the "community television" in my suite's common area, it really hit me hard that the television in my room was close to useless. I've gone to my RA who said he had talked with maitenance about it. But after two weeks, you figure maintenance would have shown up to do something about it. I'll have to bother my RA again tomorrow. And, as I said, my internet in my room is out as well. We had a lightning bolt hit ground about 50 feet from my windo and it fried the internet ports in my room. So, not only am I without cable, I am without internet as well. It's just depressing. The quote I chose today is not without significance, though. It was carefully chosen to reflect my attitude on this situation. Although both my internet and my calbe are out, I choose to look upon this with optimism. Perhaps I can use my time more effectively now and if not that, hopefully maintenance will get off their duff's and do something about these two problems in my room. Oh, and if you're wondering how I was able to post this post without having internet, I'm currently sitting in the hallway outside my suite where I can actually pick up a wireless signal. ^_^ Have a great day y'all!
