The Otaku Name and the Teen Titans. . .
Okay, until recently, 'da sikaurai had absolutely no idea what the word "otaku" meant. So she did some googling and located a definition of the word on her beloved Wikipedia.com. . . it came up something like this:

modern Japanese slang, an otaku refers to an overtly obsessive fan of any one particular theme, topic, or hobby. Common uses are anime otaku (one who sometimes enjoys many days of excessive anime watching with no rest) and manga otaku (a fan of Japanese graphic novels), pasokon otaku (personal computer geeks), gçmu otaku (playing video games), and otaku that are extreme fans of idols, heavily promoted singing girls. There are also tetsudô otaku (metrophiles) or gunji otaku (military geeks). . . though it can sometimes refer to any "geek," in general.

Heh. Coo'. 'da sikaurai is a geek.

At any rate, she finally got to catch the new Teen Titans movie, "Trouble In Tokyo", and she was particularly amused by the reference used in the movie. For instance, Beast Boy (Autumn's favorite titan, by the way), comes face to face with a giggling japanese girl, who points at him and goes . . . "OTAKU!", and runs away, laughing.

Beast Boy, a loveable nerd 'til the end, goes, "Suh-weet! I think she likes me!"

Don't count on it, bro. . .

Yeah, that was a pretty random post. But 'da sikaurai just had to mention it. Now, go on. Make fun of her for watching Teen Titans.

You know you wanna.

P.S.: FOR YOU SASCHA FANS, MORE SEXY PICS TO COME SOON!. . .

AHHHHH, RANDOM CRAP TODAY. . .
Wow, you guys. 27 comments yesterday. 'da sikaurai can feel 'da love.

Or SOMETHING.

Yeah, she's glad you enjoyed her comebacks. Probably more than she did, truth be told. Honestly, her favorite one-liners had bordered upon vile--the kind of invectives that only Sascha could ever appreciate. (Well, except the one involving the uterus that 'da sikaurai keeps in a pickle jar. even the sharp-tongued wolfen warrior would have cringed over the one comment that 'da sikaurai doesn't have the courage to post on MyO.)

But of course, 'da sikaurai is normally a loving individual. Mess with the quality time that she dedicates to her music, however, and the gloves. . . ARE. . .OFF!

Okay, Justin (yaoikiss101) has asked 'da sikaurai to tell all her gal-pals to go easy on 'im, next time you visit him. He's not really stalking me! The big loser is an ex-coworker, and sometimes doubles as a good friend.

And, um. . . REZ? If you drop by my site, this is how far I've gotten on my first piece:

THis was done using nothing more than the mouse on a free paint program. I don't have the wacom pad. I tried rendering some of those smoothing techniques that you suggested, but a quarter of the way through it, I kinda gave up. Alas, without photoshop, 'da sikaurai feels that if she stuck with it 'til the end, she wouldn't have finished until the kids graduate from high-school. Hope the shading will come along, though, and thanks for your confidence in my abilities!

'Kay, did anyone see Oban Star-Racers this week? If so, what happened?

OH. . . THE ONLINE HORROR. . .
iMesh can be a wonderful, and yet, frightening lil' music browser. For all you cats out there who dig the obscure tracks, 'da sikaurai would recommend downloading the iMesh for all your music surfing needs.

HOWEVER, she does so with a warning: iMesh is shareware. It also comes with the annoying lil' accessory of a world-wide track-sharing messaging community. At first, 'da sikaurai tried to ignore that fact, and to just chill with her rare tracks. And at first, all was coo' in sikaurai's world.

And then, the attempted cyber-sex barrages at 2 in the morning.

Wow. There are a lot of loooooonely, horny men out there at two in the morning. What inspires the average red-blooded man to plant his ass in front of a pc at an obnoxious hour and pester a rabid music-lover with a bare-bones profile for a coupling in straight text format? Hmmmmm? Is it my charisma? My charming animal magnetism?

Or my complete and utter ire?

Here's some examples of this morning's correspondence:

pathetic male: Do you wanna see my dick?
'da sikaurai: Sure, I could use a good laugh.
*disconnect*

pathetic male #2: I have a long dick.
'da sikaurai: Yeah, me too.
*disconnect*

pathetic male #3: I like so sex so much!
'da sikaurai: Then go get some, you silly twit, and quit bothering me. Why isn't my invisibility mode WORKING????

That's a good question. 'da sikaurai thinks that she is gonna contact L'Spaerow thru their MySpace account and regale them of the trials and tribulations that she must endure in order to appreciate their music. . .

So here is a sexy pic. . .

Damn. No Dante in this one. . .

Oh well.

. . .Oh, and hey. Assemblage23 did a remix of backandtotheleft's "misstep". Pretty coo', huh? 'da sikaurai didn't know this until this evening.

Everybody have a peaceful day.

MUSIC REVIEW!
'da sikaurai is a music freak, yup yup! Her latest obsession is. . . is. . . can you figure it out? Could it be. . . L'Spaerow?
(?????)
Why, you ask? Or maybe you're not asking. Maybe you don't care. But in a wild fit of reckless enthusiasm, 'da sikaurai will tell you anyway.

Their music is dark and brooding, but not in a goth way, really. Their songs verge upon a syncopantic melody, thoughtful and profound. The lead has a vocal style that echoes against a backdrop of tripping, ethereal riffs, floating on a haze of mournful audio imagery.

The track most overplayed on 'da sikaurai's vast library is their song "the Pharmacist". . . she couldn't locate the lyrics for the entire song, but she did manage to interpret the chorus. . .

The pharmacist will hit on you
When you are seen to fill out your prescription
To deal with your addictions. . .
Wide eyes look at you and say
There’s one I'd like to know
There’s one to keep my children from
There’s one that’s black and blue and tattooed for you.
How beautiful I would have been
If only I had slept in
If only I had stayed thin
How beautiful I would be
If I could just be me.
If I could just know me.

I was recently clued in as to what EMO meant. This music is not EMO. It's just plain beautiful.

By the way, 'da sikaurai is feeling pretty silly. She has decided that she will take on the role of being Pandora.com's little promoting side-kick. For every comment that she leaves, she's gonna leave a signature listing the track and the name of its artist that she's listening to at the time. . .

So, erm. . . Justin recently posted a question on his site that 'da sikaurai would like to dig up once again for an encore. . .what's everybody's fave kind of music? AND WHY? Don't just say "cuz it's cool!" Embellish! Details! Feel 'da love, dammit!

Everybody have a good day!

UH OH!
Woweee, the infamous insomniac actually FELL ASLEEP last night! 'da sikaurai passed out on the floor while working on her new cg experiment!

She woke up around six in the morning. AND OH GOD! She had fallen asleep before her children did! WHat kind of damage do you think that they did to the place?

Oddly enough, after performing an excrutiatingly thorough search of the joint, nothing is amiss. And both of the children are intact and passed out in front of the television.

'da sikaurai feels like a bad mommy. But hey. She guesses that the body can only take so much!

THREE RENDITIONS FOR THE UKYO CONTEST ARE COMPLETE. STILL MORE TO COME! GET CRACKING, PEOPLE!

I LOVE REZ AND HIS CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM!
YES, THAT'S RIGHT--CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM!

'da sikaurai was recently bitching about her inability to render cg art. She's never had the resources or the education. So one day, after reading some notes submitted to her deviantART account by some elitist photoshop prodigies, she gritted her teeth and decided she would try her hand at it.

A silly, freebie paint program that comes as an accessory to windows! That's what she decided to play with! She finished her amateurish piece within two hours, and with deluded pride, she emailed it to her beloved friend REZ. ANd this is how he responded:

Looks good, but it could use some anti-aliasing. It would help the
strong contranst between lighter colors and the pitch black background
look a little less pixelated. I know what you mean about having to
zoom in and take your time, though. Every digital graphic designer
goes though that. What software did you use to edit the background?

Here is an article that explain anti-aliasing.

HE FOLLOWED THAT UP WITH AN ARTICLE WITH ALL KINDS OF HELPFUL INFO. SAD THING IS. . . 'DA SIKAURAI DOES NOT HAVE PAINTSHOP. waaaaah!

But this is why sikaurai loves her friends. Because they are so loverly honest and forthright with her, even though she can be a tad tempermental. I LOVE YOU, AND PIRATE ME A COPY OF PAINTSHOP, OKAY??????

Um, just kidding, yo.

RE: THE PM BOX. . .
'da sikaurai has recently had some some irate PMs regarding her inability to acknowledge some backroom correspondence in a timely fashion. She apologizes, but just because she shows that she's online, she DOESN'T ALWAYS check her PM box! (probably because she's busy writing when you send your loverly and entertaining messages!) As she's told you all before, don't be offended! SHe loves you all, otherwise she wouldn't come visit you!

If you feel that you need an IMMEDIATE response to your hails, you can flag me down on MSN Messengers. 'da sikaurai flys by the name "bowerydweller", and it's always on for her friends back home!

TAKE CARE!
