More Naruto. . .
I know, I know, my site has too many original pieces. I just recently submitted another "War of the Realms" pic, with my fave creation, the incubus Akiramaru. I need to get some more Naruto on here--I see myself doing a Kimimaro pic, or even the minor antagonist, Aoi. I always love the bad guys. You can do so much more with an evil character. . . also, hmmmmm, I had a request for a Haruko portrait (FLCL), but. . . I'll have to pull some of my old screenshots, first. I tried a Trigun fanart last night, but my Vash didn't come out looking so hot. Hmmmm. . . then again, I AM an ED fan. I wonder why I never tried to draw her? Well, that's my next assignment during my downtime at work tomorrow. I can hardly wait!

BUSTED. . .
I have that proverbial "luck of fools". . . I work third shift in a group home, tending to disabled residents, while waiting for that ol' school loan to come through, heh heh. And every night, I have two hours to myself with nothing to do. So instead of drooling in front of the TV, I bring my sketch pad and some colored pencils. . . gotta exercise that brain, right? I mean, what else is there to do at four in the a.m.--CROSSWORD PUZZLES? Anyway, I'm hard at work on an original piece, and in comes my supervisor (????? WHATHEH***?) At four in the morning??? Anyway, she catches me with my drawing pad and two baby monitors, and an open fridge, and she just laughs. "I like your art," she says. "You're really talented." (JAW DROPS, HEART RACES. . . )
I AM SO LUCKY. . .

$#@%!!!!! GOTTA GET THAT LAST EPISODE. . .
Grrrrr. . . for many hours, late last night, trying so hard to get LAST episode for Samurai7. . . surfed so hard. . . tried everywhere that my tired brain could conceivably ponder. . . no one has ep 26 ?!?!?!?! I don't wanna buy the DVD, cuz I'm poor and I move around so much, I'll inevitably LOSE it (Although that will be my last alternative, I'm sure) Doesn't ANYONE know what site might regale me with the grant of one wistful wish????? I can't wait until IFC releases it. . . I HAVE A LIFE, and I MIGHT NOT BE HOME and I don't have TIVO or DVR or a VCR!!!!!! AAAAAAHHHHHH! I HATE BEING POOR!!!!!!

Finally did it!
Yeah! Oban Star-Racers! I finally did my first fan-art piece on that cute lil' cartoon. I printed it out and framed it for my daughter's room. Also,
one of my best friends advised me about the wacom pad, and he says it's only a couple hundred bucks. . . so as soon as I get a lil' extra in my budget, I'm gonna be frivolous and invest in some technology.

waaaah. . . I want cool Photoshop art!
"Get with the times, they tell me!" I scratch my head, going: gee, how d'they do THAT? I guess I'm "old-school" I'm a complete moron when it comes to modern media techniques, and my very otherwise-talented friends are the same way. But there is a lot of inspiration on Otaku, and a lot of young talent that makes my tired heart proud. I hope that I can soon achieve similar results on the coloring aspect, but I have a limited budget, and some of this technology is beyond my fiscal resources. Sigh. . . but since the duty of spinning out the THE REALMS has been handed down to me by the original creators, I have vowed that I will make a fool of myself by marching into the nearest software kiosk and demand that the customer service rep make a REAL ANIME artist out of me! How does that sound for an adventure? Who says you can't teach an old dog new tricks?

The Origin of the War of the Realms
My original anime actually started out as an elaborate joke devised by four cubicle workers (myself included) who were bored with the insurance industry and had a lot of time on our hands. We collaborated on a manga-style concept that we circulated around the office for giggles--a concept that included an effeminate incubus, a sexually frustrated ninja-wolf-half-alien dude, two biker lesbians, a bunch of pretty guys in flower kimonos, and a little anime girl who basically just got hit on a lot. We were shocked to discover that it really took off, and our fellow co-workers would daily ask us about upcoming episodes and/or art. As the popularity of our sick humor took off, I was inspired and decided to make what was once a sexually explicit running gag into a serious (not-so-sexually-explicit) endeavor. I have five portfolios full of artwork that I will eventually be compiling into work for the novel, and it just goes to show you: anime/manga themed entertainment REALLY IS for all ages.

6:13 a.m. (and still haven't slept . . .)
Since I am a chronic insomniac, and don't really care for TV much, I managed to plug out more for my portfolio . . . gee, the kiddies will be awake in one hour. And that reminds me, has anyone seen the cute new cartoon, OBAN STAR-RACERS? That's my oldest daughter's fave, and I would like to see someone try their hand at a lil' OBAN fan-art . . .
