What a day!
Today was the first day of school. And it was crazy. Half of it was spent in an assembly learning "spirit" things and other whatnot. Then we had our classes, even though we only spent five minutes in each. It was one long, chaotic, bustling mass of people and information. I can tell this is going to be an interesting year.

it's late now...
Ever since yesterday it has been non stop. It's very tiring.

Orientation was very nice. They didn't have student based tours (to my relief) and just let one roam around the school. It was a little overwhelming with all the students there. It made me even more anxious than I already am. Mind as well get use to it, right?

My schedule is a tough one, so now I'm wondering how often I'll be able to get on here in between studying. Ah, I'll make time. I always do. It's not a very good habit though.

nothing of interest, really ...
Just to let all who are interested that I've posted another picture. It's old but I felt I needed to update. Feel free to go see that.

Two more days and then I go in to get my pictures done for school. And pay those fees too ... On Friday there's the open house with a tour by the students. Aiya. I hope they do a better job then the last time when the students went on tour there. I've been there once prior and could have done a better job then they did.

Three weeks til school starts and I'm already having pre-school anxiety ... How about the rest of you?

I felt a change of layout was in order. Something cool in this nasty heat.

Two new pictures are up (or should be up soon). Browse if you so desire to.

birthday
So my birthday was yesterday. I had some friends come over and we made pizza and watched movies. I haven't had a birthday party for five years now...wow that's a while.

In other news, I was going to do an artical, but then when I started to write it down, I forgot the whole idea. I do that a lot. Not taking advantage of an opportunity, that's my weakness (among other things of course).

Anyway, I hope you all enjoy the weekend.

home sweet home
Yesterday I got back from my aunt's house. I was down there for my uncle's funeral. Despite the reason for being there, I had a nice time. All my relatives were there and I haven't seen any of them for five or so years.

14 hours in the car in hot weather doesn't help my mood on the drive though.

A couple of days ago most of us learned about the bombings in London. My heart to those people. I hope you are safe.

Year of "Lasts"
Well, this school year has officially come to a close. A bittersweet sort of experience. It's nice to be out but I'll miss it. Everything changes next year.

After school ended some friends and I were taken out to lunch and we just got back from dropping them off. I'm so drained right now. But I've got to focus on the things I've to do for the summer.

The first day of summer and we had a storm. Well now I KNOW it's summer!

   Congratulations!
My cousin graduated last night. The graduating class was big, by my standards at least. 500 or something like that. It was a pretty nice ceremony. I probably could have enjoyed it more if we were sitting in different seats. The people around us were pretty rude. And I should have enjoyed it more but I was stressed out and was grumpy most of the time. That aside, congrats to the grads!

   Coincidence?
This is pretty random and out of the blue, but I wanted to share anyway. So I've been reading Musashi by Eiji Yoshikawa (a very good book. Highly recomended by me). It's strange but I noticed that there are a lot of "famous" anime/manga names in here. To name the ones I can remember: Kurama (sweet potato), Hiei (mountain), Kenshin (writer), Koroku (bandit. Not as popular though), and Sanosuke (Musashi's second pupil but in the book, it's spelled "Sannosuke"). I wonder if any of the writers got the names from this book? It is fairly popular in Japan after all.

Another thing about this book is how it is amazingly like an anime/manga. It has that sort of indirect way of showing you things. Or the way that it portrays things. Like a sword cut will become an arc of light and then dismembered bits of men fall to the ground. Very interesting, that it is.

   I'm exhausted...
These past two days have been crazy! Yesterday was the first half of my math exam. Everyone was at least a little stressed about it. They even gave us those professional looking answer sheets. The next half is on Monday...Aiya! I should study!

We also had a dance yesterday. It wasn't the funnest of dances and the music wasn't great...I lasted longer this time, which kind of surprised me. Being the introvert that I am, I usually can dance (what I do is not dancing, just random movements) for about a half hour before I'm tired. This time I lasted for an hour and a half. Go me!

Today I had to get up early so we could go to a cancer walk. It's like a family tradition now, I suppose. So we walked 5k then went to my aunt's house and did yard work and walked to lunch and now we're home. Can I get off my feet now?
