Love is....
Time: 11:05 PM

Song: None at the moment.

By: The sound of silence.

Mood: Distraught/Thoughtful/Tired/Awake

I hate how night time seems to ruin my overall thought process on everything around me. It seems as if the uncomfortable thoughts that bore themselves into my mind go away by night and suddenly emerge by day. Then again as I peer into Seth's journals day by day his own thoughts and questions seem to remain constant in the processing gears of my mind.

For instance, what is love? How is love defined as an emotion and not just a word?

A deep, tender, ineffable feeling of affection and solicitude toward a person, such as that arising from kinship, recognition of attractive qualities, or a sense of underlying oneness.
A feeling of intense desire and attraction toward a person with whom one is disposed to make a pair; the emotion of sex and romance.

Sexual passion.
Sexual intercourse.
A love affair.
An intense emotional attachment, as for a pet or treasured object.
A person who is the object of deep or intense affection or attraction; beloved. Often used as a term of endearment.
An expression of one's affection: Send him my love.

How is it that just one word can easily sum up what one can feel for another? Surely just actions would have to do other than just those simple three words that seem to cause such great happiness.

"I love you." A sentence so strong and is said to have been filled to the brim with undying passions. Yet the world today spouts the three words day to day like a never-ending lullaby... it begins to lose it's overall sincerity.

How can someone have the right to go on and say that all anyone ever really needs is love? In all reality, love can make your heart fly up to the skies and rejoice with a song (I'm such a fucking poet it's disgusting me) or can seize your heart in its vice-like grip and rip it to shreds in an instant.

Seth: I believe love is something meant to share with another that you can feel truly open with. If you feel an intense desire to constantly be near that person then of course you find yourself admitting that you love them, right?

But can't the term desire be directly related to the word lust? There's a thin line between desire to be with someone and the lust one feels for another Seth. How can love be defined as all of these different things if it is only one word?

Seth: Not just a word... but an emotion that is stronger than that of pain. Love is hatred, blindness, lust, completion, comfort and pain all in one.

But if you love someone... why hurt them so much?

Seth: Pain is just a messenger to ignite your senses with life. Without pain... you would feel nothing and would not even know if you were alive.

So complex. e.e;

Seth: If you love someone... let them hurt you and share their pain and guilt...

Deep...
