This Party is Political Activity

A slightly delayed new month update (from rei-chan)

Band Feature of the who know's how long:
Klack
*I do feel rather badly as I only will use one source for the band info, and at that, there isn't much to offer*

    KLACK
  1. started in 2003 without a name or activities started
  2. April 4th first concert at NAZIS CLUB in Harajuku
  3. July 10th KLACK played second live
  4. Performances recorded on DVD Terrorism of Red Piss
  5. July 21st the Klack took part in TRIBAL ARIVALL Vol.82, Shibuya O-WEST
  6. July 28th first maxi-single INTIFADA 2004 released - CD sold nicely and band got attention
  7. Cure = Klack's greatest friend, even still Cure frequently features them
  8. July 30th KLACK opened Cure's "Japanesque Rock Collectionz Cure" also was in "act unlawfully Vol.7" on CLUB HOLIDAY
  9. November 7th first DVD Terrorism of Red Piss released - includes videos including an anime-styled version of Bush and Osama (and et cetera), a view on the hostage situation in Iraq and footage from North-Korea - Klack gained attention The interview is even subtitled in English, so the possible audience listening on their thoughts is pretty large!
  10. November 27th Klack again at CLUB HOLIDAY
  11. December 14th - TRIBAL ARIVALL: vol 87.
  12. December 26th 2004 - KLACK listed in the Beauti-fool's Fest '04 - Without any permission, 'they showed select images of a video originally including a real death on the large screen on their turn to perform. The tape in question was from the situation locating in Iraq, where a Japanese tourist was held hostage and then beheaded. The clips of him and the executioners were soon released on the Internet by a group linked to al-Qaeda, with their demands. Japan didn't withdraw their troops as requested ... The concert was being recorded for TBS channel and quite naturally the pictures caused shock to many attendees, which included young boys and girls who arrived to see their favorite bands. Both the channel and the rock magazine behind the yearly festival, Fool's Mate, apologized deeply and refused to include KLACK in any further reports/articles about the show. The news ran across the world and were published for example in the Washington Times.' *note, the one year anniversary of this tourist's death was this past Sunday, the 30th of October*
  13. Klack's site went down with the suspicion that the group was no longer - the site reopened a few months as just a single page sighting gigs and appearances in Cure
  14. Klack plays small lives at HOLIDAY SHINJUKU.
  15. July KLACK announces release of first album 'No Feeling Phimosis'
  16. July 17th Klack starts 3 concerts together with ANTIFEMINISM - lives 'advertised with a wild west style "wanted ad", in which the little Italian language print after the actual concert info promised a reward to anyone giving out information about a searched for environmentalist, who is accused of saving several rare animal species and their living places, and for creating a European scale model of ecological development in Italy. You could recognize this person by his WWF Panda pin that he always wears.'
  17. Klack's site fully reopened but from time to time, it's down for some unknown reason

At that, if i could, I'd get for you the member's translated names... but only the vocalist "U" uses a non-kanji name... and English fansites aren't up and running for Klack. All I found is the kanji for the bassist and the two guitarists. At that, you'll have to go without member information.

u - vocals

- Guitar1

- Guitar2

(Retsu?) - Bass

Information:
Klack's OHP
Iced Key

Moving on from there... a 'contest' if you will.
I'd love to say there are prizes.. for which, there can be. But I don't know what to award.. It seems rather odd saying you can choose. but to an extent, you can. So some kind of media. or feature of your choice. keep in mind though, if it's media, you are slightly dependent on what all there is at our disposal. I have no problem with transferring mp3s, mpegs, jpeg/gifs, or any other media format. Whatever, that can all be figured out later.
And it's not if you finish it all but how many you get right that'll be taken into consideration. Here goes:
(fill in the blanks, if you please)
Directly before he was the drummer for Sophyr, Kazuya was the drummer for _____(1). In that band _____(2) played the guitar and the guitar synth; he came from the band _____(3) and later played in _____(4) (both bands he played guitar only). Masuo, one of Calorze's guitarists started with the band _____(5) which at one time had _____(6) a former drummer of Due'le quartz. Sakito, former vocalist of _____(7) and current vocalist in [FIGURE;] started out with the band _____(8) along with guitarist Sarull who later went on to ドーリスマリィ. In ドーリスマリィ _____(9) was the drummer and he later spent time with Mask. In the band Mask, Minami was the _____(10) who later spent time recording with Miyabi. Guitarist _____(11) of X-Japan and bassist _____(12) of hide with Spread Beaver also played for Miyabi. _____(13), second guitar of hide with Spread Beaver, started his career with the band _____(14). Lastly, the vocalist for Oblivion Dust, _____(15) is currently vocalist for the band _____(16).
- If the kanji used doesn't show in your browser, let me know and i'll find a way to get it to you. good luck. i hope you at least give it a shot, please?
it'd probably be best to send answers to death by jrock or to zero li enna (rei-chan) seeing as how i have the answer key and such of that nature.

Well, I hope that you all have a good day, week, or whatever denomination of time there will be between this post and the next one. Later, and with love, rei-chan.

Daishi

Tis Rei, once more. And omg! DBJ has been updated three times this month?! Amazing... *bear with me, I'm in a writing mood, I think...*

31/3/05 - Daishi arrested for stimulent use in Tokyo city-wide drug sweep
2/6/05 - Tour dates for Daishi's solo career and PLC are postponed
3/6/05 - Drug identified as speed; Daishi denies charges against him, a urine sample is submitted and it confirms his use; release of USA tour dvd is halted and Nippon Crown apoligizes for Daishi's actions
4/6/05 - Yura-sama writes on Daishi's position
5/6/05 - Rest of members make response/apology as well
10/8/05 - Dropped status with Nippon Crown and Sweet-Heart

13/9/05 - "Daishi Admits to Drug Use
News websites in Japan report of his confession at a recent court date.

Man of Rock Band, Admits to Use of Stimulants at First Trial Hearing

Accused of violation of the Stimulant Control Law (and use), vocalist of the rock group "Psycho le Cemu" defendant Kajinaga Daishi's (29) first trial hearing was held on September 12th at Yokohama District Court (Judge Fukami Reiko).

Completely admitting to prosecution facts, defendant Kajinaga answered questions, "The drugs were bought from a foreigner in TokyoShibuya for 20,000 yen [around $200], and injected at hotel(s) in Shibuya ward."

Explaining his motive, defendant Kajinaga admitted to using the stimulant repeatedly saying that, "I turned to drugs due to troubles and weak feelings within the band." and [also] saying that, "I began to use the drugs around 17 ~ 18 years of age, but stopped when when I was 20, although around a year and a half ago I started using them again."

(Yomiuri Shinbun) - Updated September 12, 9:49 p.m.

"Psycho" Vocal, Admits to Facts by Prosecution.

Accused of violation of the Stimulant Control Law (and use), vocalist of visual kei band "Psycho le Cemu" DAISHI, on the first hearing on the 12th at Yokohama Distric Court (Judge Fukami Reiko), defendant Kajinaga Daishi (29) admits to facts by the prosecution. Defendant Kajinaga, who has had a sudden, intense weight gain, said with a frail voice, "Due to mental anxiety I used drugs to escape. For the sake of my fellow friends and fans that I've troubled, I want to return to singing." Though it has been revealed that in a discussion with his lawyer he said, "I want to commit suicide." According to the indictment in the middle of May, the stimulants were purchased on the streets of Tokyo Shibuya and were used within the metropolitan area as well as Fukuoka prefecture and so on. The next scheduled appearance will conclude the trial hearing.

(Nikkan Sports) Updated on September 13, 9:47 a.m"

A tiny little outline on what Speed is:

  • Less pure form of Crystal Methamphttamines
  • Meth created in 1919 by Japanese chemist A. Ogata
  • Became wide-spread in Japan after WWII
  • Is now highly taboo in Japan even though it is a great source of income
  • Shooting meth causes greater highs and severe wear on teeth
  • Smoking meth is also bad for teeth but also damages the LUNGS (which are important for vocalists - but he injected so no worries there :/ )
  • Amphetamines affect the nervous system
  • High euphoria
  • Synapses slow so user feels little to no pain
  • Increases mental alert-ness and concentration
  • Decreased appetite - WEIGHT LOSS
  • Because of slower response to pain - Increased ability to WORK OUT AND THEREFORE LOOSE WEIGHT
  • Physical withdrawl side effects aren't as pronounced
  • More mental than physical
  • Meth and meth-withdrawl CAN lead to DEATH

-as I said, small... just the gist of what really applies to this case

(opinionated from here...)Daishi's had a (personal) problem with his weight since he started PLC. The thing is, no one else seemed to have a problem with his figure. Granted that he could have toned his arms a bit, he was not over-weight; it was all in his head. Meth users don't experience as great of an appetite while on the drug and it allows the user to have greater stamenia. Daishi, who at that point had already lost a considerable amount of weight, could contine to 'perfect' his apperance. Illegal drugs to loose weight is rather low.

He also expressed 'weak feeling within the band.' If that's the case.. Aya, Seek, Lida, and Yura-sama seem rather tight as they stick together after Daishi's arrest.. which would mean the weak feelings were toward or within him, not the group as a whole. Daishi used speed as an escape.. from the stress, the other members, himself, et cetera. If there were that many problems within the band that Daishi needed to run to illegal drugs, then maybe the members (Daishi) need to address some deeper issues. If the stress levels were too great for him, there is NO shame in cutting back activity or dropping the group. The irony there would be PLC AND the solo project that he started just before his arrest. Evidently stress wasn't that great or the stress was to start a solo project. Not everyone has a side thing, he didn't need one either is it was to put him over the edge.

Daishi desiring to commit SUICIDE is not only selfish it's about as low as someone in that position can get. People do look up to him, despite his current situation. He still has fans to whom he's currently putting through hell. Killing himself would be absolutly uncalled for; it's the scapegoat way out of things. While people most likely have a soured opinion of him, he won't earn back any respect by ending his own life.

Personally, I still have a hard time believing that DAISHI was on something as HARD as methampetimes. While I'm fine with low key drugs such as weed, I draw the line around crack-cocane, meth, et cetera...
I believe that one reason as to why there's such a problem with believing Daishi to be on meth would be his personal image within PLC. He's always come off as the cute little boy. That standard is not only stressful at 29 and 30 years of age but it's tiring after a time. By using a harder drug, it's like he wanted to say that he's not all that innocent and that he's more than just some sute smiling face. I mean, Aya's going for more of the tom-boy/girl look within PLC and outside of the group he's evidently not a transvestite. In the Beautiful World photobook and in Boys be Ambitious Daishi drops his PLC guise for more of a 'manly' visage. He dug his own hole by coming off at the KAWAII member of the band; it was his choice and he could have easliy enough ended one way of how people viewed him or he could have cut down on the flashy-ness of his attire.

Although what Daishi did was ABSOLUTELY wrong, I still believe that he deserves support. It's hard.. to go through withdrawl with no-one there as encouragement. If that happens, then Daishi really will hill himself. If he goes back to PLC (which I shall get to in a moment) the music will probably not be the same at all (so if you weren't a fan before, you might want to check them out then). If he decided to simply go solo or join a new group... then yes, new/different sound.
Aya, Lida, Seek, and Yura-sama have expressed no desire to have Daishi back as a vocalish for PLC. On top of that, they all seem rather engrossed and involved in their side projects. Seek's birthday was this past 14 September and on that day he was made an official member of Isabelle. If PLC does regroup it won't be with Seek as it's hard to be an official member of two different groups. Whatever happens to the members of PLC and their careers, I think them all worth listening to. Each member is unique and so their sound would be rather distinct... as in they won't all sound the same. Who knows what'll all happen.

On the note of vocalists... Moi dix Mois is still without one. 'Mois dix Mois itself will continue their avtivity as before,' my erse. No one's heard from them since April.

Sorry about the long post.. No, I'm not sorry. But please, what do you all think about the situation?
