Would you rather...
Have a smaller relaunch sooner or wait for a bigger relaunch 1-2 months later?

MyOtaku Version Vibrant might be the greatest challenge/obstacle I've ever faced...

Giant Enemy Crabs
I was at SomeGuy's blog...noticed the 'Massive Damage' reference. How could we have forgotten??? I smell two new error messages for our new version:

(1) You've hit this page's weak point for Massive damage
(2) This page you have requested retails for $599, are you sure you still want it?

Metroid Prime 3 is grand so far. I normally dislike FPS games, but the control scheme + Metroid nostalgia factor is aces

Question of the day: If you had 1 minute to talk about/sing/dance/present/show and tell/etc. something in video format to theOtaku's community, what would it be about?

I'd most likely just give a long-winded speech hyping the next version or what-not.

Thanks, everyone, for the feedback.

Here were the top 5 requests, in no order:

(1) Block members
(2) Edit Comments + Hotlinking
(3) Upload PNG Images with JPG images
(4) Who's Online back
(5) More Titles

Nothing game changing, but then again, when you ask people directly what they want, most present incremental fixes (important marketing principle).

I'll think about it ;-)

Clever Anime/RPG/Video Game Quotes
Rather than give a generic 'page not found' error for Version Vibrant, I want to do something special:

Can you please comment here with quotes/text/ideas/etc. related to being lost/not found from anime/video games?

Hacking MyOtaku
How am I supposed to upgrade our MyOtaku platform if people have hacked it to death :-)?

When I created MyOtaku I purposefully built in safeguards to limit extreme make-overs to let us upgrade easier, but, ala Jurassic Park, "life always finds a way" and a large % of sites are CSS hacked to a crazy degree. Now any small changes we make will probably break someone's custom job

I basically have two options at this point: To leave everything alone and let MyOtaku stagnate or go ahead cautiously with confidence that people will adapt their customizations and, by giving them new options to make even more creative pages

In the long run I think most of you would agree that the latter approach is better

On Dentists
I've always distrusted dentists, always...I've seen them string people along about braces and, about 6 years ago, my dentist told me I had to get my wisdom teeth removed urgently (I ignored the advice) only to tell me 2 years later that they had grown in fine

Needless to say I haven't seen a dentist in probably 4 years now...which is why I'm terrified. I have an appointment for tomorrow morning for a cleaning and to check something out...I hope it's OK...

Wish me luck, ugh @_@

UPDATE: Back from the dentist, all went well. Despite having to do a little extra work because I hadn't been in so long, it really wasn't a big deal. I'm definitely going to go every 6 months now, moving forward.

Going to make a bigger announcement later about what theOtaku.com will be doing at the NYAF, but I'm happy to say that Lindsey (ElvesAteMyRamen) will be a formal artist guest at the New York Anime Festival. She will be hosting an art coloring workshop and will simultaneously be representing theOtaku.com's art community

Lindsey was a natural choice for this: She's one of our most popular artists, contributed to the upcoming Art Of Otaku (I know...it could be a while), lives in New York, has been a role-model of good behavior in the community, and I've met her in person

Anyway, I hope she puts on a good event and will help promote theOtaku to other artists at the convention.
