Let's Remeber, Lest we Forget...
This day, November 11, the eleventh day of the eleventh month on the eleventh hour, lets all take a moment or two, to remember the men who died defending their countries in the wars of this world. Only a moment or two, it’s only a pittance of time. Lets not forget the reason they died.
In Flanders Fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.
We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.
Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields. :: By: Lieutenant Colonel John McCrae : Canadian Army ::

Time After Time: By Me.
It seems time after time, We see them go,
Off to battle.
Brandished in those pressed clean uniforms, Flags held high.
All those years ago, They walked off to battle,
Fit and ready,
To stare death in the face; The courage of lions living in their hearts.
They died for our lives, so that we could have peace.
So lets take a moment or two,
To remember, why they died, all those years ago.
It seems time after time, We see them go,
Off to battle.

A Pittance Of Time: by Terry Kelly
They fought and some died for their homeland
They fought and some died now it's our land
Look at his little child, there's no fear in her eyes
Could he not show respect for other dads who have died?

Take two minutes, would you mind?
It's a pittance of time
For the boys and the girls who went over
In peace may they rest, may we never forget why they died.
It's a pittance of time

God forgive me for wanting to strike him
Give me strength so as not to be like him
My heart pounds in my breast, fingers pressed to my lips
My throat wants to bawl out, my tongue barely resists

But two minutes I will bide
It's a pittance of time
For the boys and the girls who went over
In peace may they rest, may we never forget why they died.
It's a pittance of time

Read the letters and poems of the heroes at home
They have casualties, battles, and fears of their own
There's a price to be paid if you go, if you stay
Peace is fought for and won in numerous ways

Take two minutes would you mind?
It's a pittance of time
For the boys and the girls all over
May we never forget our young become vets
At the end of the line it's a pittance of time

It takes courage to fight in your own war
It takes courage to fight someone else's war
Our peacekeepers tell of their own living hell
They bring hope to foreign lands that the hatemongers can't kill.

Take two minutes, would you mind?
It's a pittance of time
For the boys and the girls who go over
In peacetime our best still don battle dress
And lay their lives on the line.
It's a pittance of time

In Peace may they rest, lest we forget why they died.
Take a pittance of time

Never mind about the whole, "I got my girl" thing. She told me yesterday the only reason she ever went out with me was beacause she was dared! How messed up is that!? "Oh, I don' wonna hurt him, but I'll go out with him because of a stupid dare that'll hurt him." What's that? Honestly.

Death Close To Home
Yesterday, September 14, 2006, around eight O-clock, a careless driver in a semi drove through a red light. He/she hit a woman, who died that night. This woman was the wife of the paster of my church. Another man from my old church was in Iraq. He was disarming a missile, and it blew up. He managed to save one man, but eh other died. He has lost his hearing and has a broken neck. I never thought that death could happen so close to home. So close to home...
