   Day 5 and counting
So I've been without a voice for five days now. Yea, no fun. Life is a lot more difficult now that I'm unable to communicate verbally. Bleh, not to mention that I feel crappy. All I want to do is curl up in bed and sleep all day. But instead I force myself to go to class and work because I need the paycheck. Though, the good news is that I don't have to work Phonathon tonight. There's no way anyone would be able to decipher what I say over the phone. Not to mention I'd have to stop every 2 seconds to hack up another lung.

Ugh, being sick is no fun. Especially for me since I can't seem to stop and rest. Like, right now I should be taking a nap before lunch, but instead I'm writing this and then figuring out exactly how I'm going to do the interview I have at 3 pm. *sigh* I just hope this clears up before Cos-con...either way, I'm still going...

   Test Run
So, Avenly and I decided that we would do a test run on Matsumoto and Renji at a costume party tonight. It was fun and I think we looked great! (Even though I had to do the private Christian university friendly version of Matsumoto.) Anywho, we ended up not staying too long because I'm still sick and I wasn't feeling all too swell. Mr. Warner thinks I have laringitis. Mom thinks I have bronchitis. I think I seriously need to learn sign language...

In other news, I tried on my completed Misa, and didn't really want to take it off. I felt so cute...in a naughty schoolgirl sort of way. I think I need to invest in a pair of hot pants or something because the shirt is definitely a little on the short side. Oh well. Here are the latest pictures. They are also in my galleries.

   What a trip....
So, I'm back from St. Louis! The trip was amazing! Our hotel was about a five minute walk from the World Series and right across the street from the Arch. I spent most of the day on Thursday and Friday going to workshops for the conference, but we got to play around at night.

Thursday night we ended up going to this blues club and listened to this band. It was pretty sweet. And we had a lot of fun. Friday night, however, was absolutely amazing. It was game five in the series and everyone was in a festive mood. We watched the game while we were at dinner, then decided to walk down to the stadium since it was the top of the ninth with one out left for the Cards to win. Right when we got there, the crowd in the stadium erupted in cheers and everyone in the streets broke out in a sprint to the stadium. We all started cheering and high-fiving each other, and jumping up and down and hugging. Wow. Then we somehow managed to get into the stadium. Yes, that's right, WE GOT IN THE STADIUM AT THE WORLD SERIES! We were taking pictures like crazy.

After all that excitement, we decided it was too early to go to bed, so we hung out in the hotel bar celebrating some more with fans and people from the conference. I got hit on by a drunk fan who went to the games, which was kind of amusing since his pick up lines sucked. "Hey, so do you have a dude?" "No." "Do you want one?" "No." Oh, baby, how could I resist? *please sense the sarcasm* Anywho, one of the guys with our group (who unfortunately happened to be my ex) decided that the situation looked "threatening" and took it upon himself to "rescue" me. Which was a nice thought and all, but seriously, did he have to go brag about it to the guys afterwards? My friend Dustin said that he made it out like the guy had me slung over his shoulder and was about to whisk me off to his room to do bad things to me. Which was not the case. They were just saying stupid pick up lines and I was laughingly declining and about to walk away. Oh gees...some guys and their ego trips...And of course it doesn't help that I'm fiercely independent. It's not the first time I've been hit on by drunk guys, and it probably won't be the last....

Anywho, so I had a really fun trip, but now I must get caught up on the classes that I missed. Oh, and decide what costume I want to wear around on Tuesday...I'm thinking Elena...

   I'm gone....
So, at exactly 2 p.m. I'm heading out to St. Louis. Hooray! I'm off to a journalism conference with the newspaper staff and we're going to be gone for about four days. It'll be crazy when we get back, trying to put the paper together in 2 days, but I don't think any of us are thinking about that right now. I'm just happy to get off campus for a bit. Plus, it'll have some good networking opportunities, and be a good chance just to meet some new people.

The conference is in downtown St. Louis. In fact, we're staying a couple blocks from where the Cardinals are going to be playing in the World Series. Too bad we can't go to a game. But I think I'm going to surprise my little brother and get him something Cardinals/ World Series. He loves the Cards, so I know he'll like it. He told me back in May that the Cards would go to the World Series. Imagine that, my 10 year old brother predicted the World Series...

Anywho, in other news, I officially applied for my first job. It's a communications team leader for the LUKE program in Great Britain. It's a 2 to 3 year assignment through OM (Operation Mobilization). I'm really excited about it, though I don't know if I'll get it. It would be absolutely amazing to work in Great Britain, but we'll see. It'll be rough on my family for a little bit, but I think they'll be happy for me.

Well, I suppose that's it. Nothing to report cosplaywise, other than it's about 10 days until Cos-con and I can't wait! Toodles!

   Done!!!
So, all of my cosplays for Cos-con are completely finished. Hooray! Pictures are up in my galleries. They are totally ghetto, but I love them! I went over to Avenly's room and we watched 13 episodes of Princess Tutu (which is pure and simple crack) while painting props and putting together wigs. I got my Death Note, badge and shikai done. Plus, we worked on our skit for the Masqerade. Such fun! It involves lots of fun jokes about popping out of shirts and the size of bankais...

Anywho, the funniest part of the night was probably my latest emmaism which involved me being unable to say the word "caulk" correctly. Yea, highly embarrassing especially since a guy friend of ours was sitting in the room with us...Oh, and for those of you who don't know, an emmaism is when one says or does something without first thinking, normally ending with humorous and/or embarrassing results. I do this so often that my friends created the term "emmaism" just for me...I love my friends.

Well, I guess that's all from me! Toodles!

   La la la
So, we threw my friend Bre a surprise party for her 21st birthday last night. So much fun! And she was really surprised and had no idea that we were planning anything. God, I can't believe we're getting so old. Bre's 21, Dual and Avenly will be 21 this summer. Sher's 22 and I'll be 22 in December...ugh, no, I can't think about getting old...because then I have to think about graduating and job hunting...

Avenly and I decided that we're having a little cosplay party tomorrow night. Meaning we're locking ourselves in her room until we get all or most of our cosplay stuff for Cos-con done. I'm not worried because all I have to make is Misa's Death Note and Matsumoto's shikai and badge. Avenly, on the other hand, must make her Aerith cosplay (wig included) and Renji's shikai along with styling his wig. We're planning an Aerith/Elena photoshoot in the park on Sunday if she gets it done tomorrow. She's convinced she can get all of Aerith done in one day, so we'll see. I'm just ready to have it all done with. Plus, it never hurts to have even more pictures of my Elena cosplay...though I should seriously think about doing a shoot with Matsumoto now that I've got her cleavage taken care of...

Speaking of Cos-con, we've got a little more than 2 weeks until the con. I reserved the rooms and whatnot, so that's out of the way. I'm getting really excited about it! Though, probably only about as half as excited as I was when I went to Otakon. Now that is exciting. I'm already getting excited about the next Otakon and it's not until July. I've got a list of 7 cosplays that I'm taking, so there will be lots of running to the room to change.

I think more than anything, I'm excited about the Trinity Blood private shoot that we're planning and my Major cosplay from Ghost in the Shell. I had so much fun last year at the Advent Children private shoot and I'm so happy that the same group is getting back together for another shoot. And Trinity Blood is such a pretty anime to cosplay...Yay, I get to be a nun who is the captain of a really pretty ship!

And what can I say about cosplaying the Major? I've wanted to do that ever since I very first started cosplaying nearly 2 years ago. Heh, I think I brought out the inner fanboy from a friend the other day at lunch when I was talking about it. Poor guy, he got all excited because he thought I was making the thong outfit from the first season...Anywho, the Major will rock. Now all I need is someone to be my Batou...

Well, I suppose that's all from me. Gramma and Papa came in town for a visit and they're taking me out to dinner tonight. Hooray! Ciao!

The insanity of my housemates and wigs...
So, I had a fun moment today. My RA discovered my collection of wigs and decided that we all had to try them on and take pictures. It was quite fun and I posted some of them up on my Myspace, if anyone is interested. Just click the website link to the left...

Anywho, it reminded me that I seriously need to brush and work on styling Matsumoto a bit and completely washing Elena before Cos-con. Elena is a bit icky from all the hairspray I used to style it and then being stuck in a plastic bag. Misa is okay because I set it up on my bed post after styling the pig tails to keep it from getting messy. Hmm, maybe I should write my next article for MyOtaku on wigs...I'm not proficient at styling them yet, but I've bought enough that I could certainly give advice on purchasing wigs. And it might be a nice little follow up to my "Cosplay for Beginners" article that I wrote ages ago...

Anywho, it's late, I'm tired, and I need to get up a little earlier tomorrow to do my Spanish homework before chapel. I've misplaced my book and I'm too lazy to look for it tonight...Goodnight and sweet dreams!

   I'm in Love!
Oh my God, I've just spent the better part of today watching Ouran Host Club and the new Death Note anime...*squeals* I'm totally in love with both! Ouran is just, wow, it's love! Just as wonderful as the manga. And Death Note, oh my, *faints* It's amazing! The artwork is wonderfully, dark and oh so much more spiffy than the manga. It makes me giddy because I'm cosplaying Misa from Death Note at Cos-con, and then Avenly and I are going to cosplay the Hiitachin twins from Ouran at Otakon 2007. I love the twins and they are quite easily my favorite characters. Though, now we just need to decide who is going to be which twin...It's going to be so much fun! Haha, we'll have to flirt with each other and really ham it up for pictures. Wow that's going to be fun...Anywho, I had to vent my fangirl moment. Sorry if I shocked anyone, I think I was a little out of character for this post, but whatever. I've spent the better part of the weekend depressed and sad about the funeral, so I think I was due for some fun fangirling. Anywho, I'm away!

   Wal-Mart Raid
So, I raided Wal-Mart the other night. Well, not actually raided, but you get my drift. I got a lot of stuff to finish off my latest round of cosplays. Black notebook for Misa, gun for Elena, cleavage for Matsumoto, food for Roxey's tummy. Stuff like that. So, all I need is a red ribbon for Misa. I meant to get it, but we got to Wal-mart too late and the fabric people had already gone home. Oh, well. I think we're going to go to a fabric store sometime, so I'll pick it up then along with a chain for Matsumoto's necklace. Oh, and I need to order Matsumoto's badge...along with a plane ticket home for Christmas...AH! So much to do and so little time...And I need to decide if I want to wear Elena around campus on Halloween or throw together a makeshift Tonks costume...oh the decisions...

   Misa and Otakon Update
So, I've got Misa so close to being done! All I need is the red bow and the Death Note, and it's done. Pictures are up in my cosplay gallery, so you should totally go check it out...

Ok, so I've decided that I'm adding on another cosplay to Otakon. I've always wanted to cosplay the Major from Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex, so I'm just going to go for it. I'm going to do one of her outfits from 2nd Gig, but I haven't decided which one yet. Either the black and white one or the trench coat one...The black and white might be easier, but the trench coat outfit just looks hot. So, we'll see, but yea, I'm totally doing it. I'm so giddy now!

Anywho, that's all from me. I'm heading to bed. Toodles.
