Hello. Yes, I am a HS senior. Gilgamesh is a demi-god and the basis of the oldest known written story on earth. Yes, much older than any Biblical text. The story originates from Mesopotamia: Which was, as you know, the center of the world at the time. Gilgamesh is also a character from FF5 that was a boss fought multiple times and turned against his master at the end, only to be banished to the "Cleft Of Dimension", sometimes translated in games as "The X-Zone". He has an ongoing story in FF8. Oh, and he has 5 arms. Gilgamesh is also the name of an anime, but I have not yet seen it. No, I am not yet in a Wolf's Rain fan club.
