Alvin Ailey
Yesterday, I saw the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater perform at the Detroit Opera House. It was absolutely amazing. Beyond words. As a dancer, it was very inspiring and it really pumped me up to get back to work practicing the choreography for my studio's spring concert. For some reason, ALL of our numbers are insane. But now I'm ready to go for Monday, which is tap and ballet. I'm so excited for our jazz number (even though it's freaking crazy fast), and our modern number (we're pretty much nowhere on it), but those aren't until Thursday.
Just and FYI about Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, it's one of, if not THE best modern/contemporary dance companies out there, and it was an honor and a pleasure to be able to see them from TENTH ROW CENTER tickets. Despite the lady with the hat sitting two rows in front of me.
