Hello there! Welcome to the first shrine dedicated to the greatest character in the Rurouni Kenshin series, Misao Makimachi!! Why make a shrine to Misao, you ask? Because she's the greatest anime character ever...DUH!! When this page was first created there were NO Misao Shrines anywhere on the internet, so I decided to make it the first and best one I could! If you don't like Misao, I suggest you buzz off because you shouldn't be looking at this page! It's only for Misao fanatics and psychos! Some of you might wonder why I decided to call the shrine, Misao the Weasel Girl Shrine. Well, I called it that because that's what some of the other characters in the Rurouni Kenshin universe sometimes call her (Saitou started it), and that just makes her really MAD! So if Misao was a real person and saw that the shrine to her was called the "Weasel Girl Shrine", she'd probably kill me (or beat me severely).

Misao VS Aoshi
Shinomori Aoshi was officially given the title of leader of the Oniwabanshus by Okina, who was nominated as leader. Unfortunately, the main members of the Oniwabanshu group, Hanya, Beshimi, Hyottoko, and Shikijou gave their lives to save Aoshi during a grueling battle in Tokyo. The Oniwabanshu respected thier leader and would do anything to protect him. Aoshi watched as one by one, each of the Oniwabanshu died protecting him from the bullets of a gattling gun. Aoshi was devistated. These people were among the strongest fighters in all of Japan, and they died for nothing. This was but the beginning of Aoshi's path down the road of evil.

Makimachi Misao was a member of the Oniwabanshu. However, her and a few other Oniwabanshu members remained in Kyoto, not accompanying Aoshi on his various journeys. Misao was in love with Aoshi and once old enough, searched all of Japan for him. However, she had not heard from Aoshi in an extremely long time. She was unaware of Aoshi's new quest to seek out Himura Kenshin and kill him. Aoshi partially blamed Kenshin for the death of his fellow Oniwabanshus. Aoshi went back to Kyoto to find Kenshin and avenge his fallen comrades. Okina, the one who had passed along the crown of leader to Aoshi, felt that vengeance was uncalled for. Aoshi disagreed, Aoshi would let no one and no thing stand in his way from killing Himura Kenshin. Okina felt that since he gave Aoshi the title of Oniwabanshu leader, it was his job to stop Aoshi from becoming any more evil than he had already become. However, Okina was unprepared for how much stronger Aoshi had become.

Misao had discovered that Aoshi had returned to Kyoto. She also discovered that Aoshi and Okina were going to fight each other. Misao set out to stop the two of them from fighting, for if Aoshi killed Okina... Aoshi would be completely evil. Misao ran as fast as possible to the battleground of Okina and Aoshi. She ran and ran, all the time hoping that she would make it on time... time to stop the fighting, and stop Aoshi's progression into the side of evil. Unfortunately, she failed. She arrived moments too late as Okina was almost beaten to the point of death. Misao just stared at Okina's lifeless body and back at Aoshi, the same Aoshi whom she loved very deeply. He turned from her and told her not to look at him. Aoshi never wanted to see her face again.

Misao was devistated but she still remained strong. It was then that she graduated from Aoshi... graduated from loving him. How could she love a person who was evil? How could she love someone who almost killed Okina, a man who was extremely kind, a man who practically raised her? Misao proclaimed herself leader of the Oniwabanshu. Since Aoshi obviously did not care about his role as leader anymore, and since he had turned down the path of evil, it was the only thing Misao could do to prevent the complete colapse of the Oniwabanshus. Although not taken seriously at first, Misao made sure that everyone knew that SHE was the new leader... and although she was never "officially" named leader of the Oniwabanshu, and Aoshi was never "officially" denounced leader of the Oniwabanshu, to this day, all Oniwabanshu members look to her as leader.

Eventually after a fight with Himura Kenshin, Aoshi saw a new light. Aoshi had seen the errors of his ways, however, the damage had already been done. Aoshi's decisions were somewhat unforgivable in his eyes. Misao still holds the title of leader of the Oniwabanshu... but the question remains... is she REALLY the leader? What do you think? Without any official proclamation, one member of the Oniwabanshu had their title taken away, and another had it bestowed upon them. To this day, the question still remains. Boy... I've never written anything so serious before in my life. I must quickly put humor in here somewhere before my head explodes. Why did Misao cross the road? Give up? To stop Aoshi from killing Okina! HA HA HA HA! Was that funny? Did you laugh? I sure as hell did.
