   [swim] addict
*Sigh* I'm so tired of the adult swim message board. The worst part about it is I find myself addicted to it. I'm tired of it, yet I can't help but check it constantly. I know nothing has changed, so why do I keep going back? I'm so annoyed with myself for not being able to totally let go.

Sure, I can go a few days w/o signing on, maybe a week. But then I get an e-mail or something because someone left me a prop or a message, and I'm pulled back into the abyss. I like the Fan Collective a lot, but I'm very much over the boards and posting.

Here's hoping that I can either re-direct or balance out my obsession here at theOtaku. :o(

   Expanding Horizons
My facination with anime began only a short while ago, even though it feels like it's been years now. I've always been a huge cartoon fan in general, but discovering this new genre has been the most fun experience for me.

I started out with the shows on adult swim. Inuyasha will always be my first, or, what I consider my "gateway" anime.

I've finally moved from IY, FullMetal Alchemist, Cowboy Bebop (which was my second addiction) and Samurai Champloo, and now I've checked out Hellsing, His and Hers and the very latest, Fruits Basket. I haven't seen all of FB yet, but so far so good. I realize I like those heartfelt, sweet animes a lot. I'm not really into those meathead anime's, like Dragon Ball Z, or anime's with robots. By meathead, I mean anime's where the main characters are overly muscular. I came up with that term while watching Baki the Grappler... which always makes me laugh when I say that name. Who uses the word "grappler" anyway? What does that mean exactly?

   Cosplayers = Cool
When I first saw a cosplayer on TV, I have to admit, I thought to myself, "Hmm, you're a little weird." But now that I've gotten into the anime genre a little deeper, I think it's so cute when people dress up like their favorite characters.

If I were to cosplay, I'd be Mamimi from FLCL. I could pull off that skirt with a red wig, no sweat! Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
