FUCK.
So I just got back from my early morning run to the liberal arts building to make an appointment for scheduling classes next semester...and perhaps some of you can relate to this crap.

A liberal arts major literally needs to battle with hundreds of other students to get into certain classes. This is often compounded by the fact that there are plenty of people taking liberal arts classes just for the hell of it, for no reason (such as the people in my writing classes who hate writing, engineers and tech people who somehow got into classes required for my major when I'm pretty sure I had to weasel my way in, etc.) or who seem to be "majoring" in about three different areas and can therefore take any class they want, somehow.

This makes it hard enough to take the classes you need to graduate, but my problems seem to be even worse this upcoming semester.

Everyone in college has an advisor they go to for scheduling. That is to say, you figure out your schedule, tell them it, and hope to god they don't fuck it up. This job does not require much effort, although by the way they act, you would think counselors feel they are busy ALL THE FUCKING TIME since they rarely wish to do anything outside of the two times they work during a year. (High schoolers can also relate, I am sure.)

My counselor has always been slightly annoying since she always had a lot of upperclassmen to schedule. This means, no matter how early I get myself there on the day to start making appointments for my year, I still end up scheduling after a bunch of random shitty seniors and even people who are my same year, but have a counselor who isn't so backed up.

BUT this year, I get there early as usual, and I am told she only has stuff open after the first week and a half for juniors has already begun. I am slightly puzzled, even with all the seniors she has to schedule, they should all fit in a week and a half, putting me only at a slight disadvantage to my peers in the end. But here I need to wait an additional week to even begin scheduling. By that time, juniors are almost done and sophomores can start scheduling! I bust my ass to get there early and people will be coming in at the end of today and getting better spots than me because they have different counselors.

"Lordy," I remark to the receptionist, "she's got that many people already?"
"Well actually she's going to be out of town for a week, so it's gotten a little backed up."

...

YOU LEAVE TOWN DURING THE ONE TIME YOUR FUCKING STUDENTS NEED YOU? ROT IN HELL, YOU FUCKING BITCH.
