Don't let the date fool ya. It's still Tuesday according to where I live... I just haven't been posting a lot now, eh? Gotta stop this habit!

Well, today's the last day before I go to school. Wednesday's the day I go back to school. DAMMIT! There's so many things I need to buy before I return! (Like a junk drive, for example.)

Ah...so here I am to explain the day.

Saturday/New Year's Eve

Well...you do since my relatives came on Thursday, I had to sleep with my sister on her floor, right? Well, yeah. I wanted to get ready, but most of the time, my uncle and aunt were still changing in my room...

So I finally did get ready, with my scarf on (it's not cold here!!! Why do I keep wearing it?) and my uncle sitting kinda on my aunt's lap right next to me (eight people, seven seats), all of us in the back being crammed...

Church was nice. Umm...I went to go say "Happy New Year!" to Andy, and then he started asking me for li xi. (The Chinese envelopes you get money in for Chinese New Year!) I told him I had no money, and he pulled off my scarf and said that it was made of 100% silk. (I think it's cotton and polyester...) Diana YANKED the scarf off while it was around Andy's neck, and we went home.

We all came home to eat the leftovers from the party... After lunch, my uncle and aunt had to go home. (They took a charter bus here, and my dad had to drive them to their stop.)

So it was quiet for the rest of the day...until...

I wanted to go on the computer since my brother was doing nothing. I kept yelling at him to get off, but he was so unresponsive! So guess what I did? I went to the kitchen and got a knife and sharpened it... (Yes, I was that angry.) So my mom saw it, told me to put it down...

My mom yelled at my brother to get off the computer so I could do my homework. (Yes, never did it!)

But he only went out and locked the computer room.

Now...my brother had stolen my mom's keys for a while, right? Well...I went to his room to ask for them. My brother pretended to be asleep, so I told him that I would start looking around his room if he wouldn't give it to me. I started opening his closet, and what did he do?

He grabbed me, PUSHED ME out of the room, started strangling me, and punched me on my cheek, and I started screaming for help.

My mom came down to break up the fight, and she yelled at him, but she YELLED AT ME TOO! (For picking on him! WHAT THE HECK?! When did that happen?!)

I don't know, I started breaking down, screaming and crying at the same time. This wasn't the first time that's happened. First time it happened, he beat up my sister until she had black bruises everywhere. My mom sent her to a doctor, but my mom said that if the doctor asked what happened, just tell him that she slammed into a door. (Uhh...doors can't slam you on the side, I'm afraid.)

There was a time he tried to attack me with some cooking scissors... And another time where he tried to choke me by grabbing my neck.

And then there was another time where my mom was in the shower, so he PUNCHED through the door (mind you, my front door is part glass) JUST so he could get in!!! I mean, WHAT THE HECK?!

He is SO VIOLENT PRONE! Whenever he doesn't get what he wants, he'll violate a person by choking, taking something sharp, breaking, etc.

He tried to beat up my mom once. (Thank goodness he didn't.)

He needs anger management. But every time he does this, my mom says, "Next time you do this, we're sending you to boot camp!" (Boot camp isn't the correct word, but that's the closest translation I can think of.)

Ugh. Things cooled down later...

And by night, it was okay, ya know? I started hearing people shooting fireworks outside (around 9 PM?), and I thought, "It must be coming from Josué's house." So I put on my shoes and go outside, and yup, it's Josué shooting fireworks with his cousin.

I started watching him, and we did some together. We first did the...M-5000s??? I don't know, but you light them, throw them in the air, and make a loud noise. No pretty sparks or whatever. Then we used sparklers to light up something like a rocket. (Shoot, I need to know more fireworks names!)

Anyways, one was colorful, the other one was small.

Ah, he threw a still-burning incense (or was it a sparkler?) stick and it was still burning, and it got caught on my glasses, and it left a small burn mark there... Aghh...

We played basketball after that, the three of us. Ah, so many times I hit the ball on his dad's truck! (Gah!!!)

Oh yeah. I also spoke Spanish with him and his cousin. He's really one of few people here I'm comfortable speaking Spanish with. And now I don't even see him anymore because of different schools. And Melissa, I don't even see her anymore. Melissa was a Mexican girl in my 8th grade Art class. We were good friends, but now I don't see her...

Soon after, Josué's dad came outside, and saw us hitting the basketball on his truck. So we went to go sit on the back of his truck while he parked it out of the driveway.

Then he played basketball with us! Ahh, that was fun. But I got tired so easily. (I'm out of shape! WAHH!!!)

Oh yeah. Earlier I asked them what was the Spanish word for "fireworks". They didn't know. So I asked his dad this:

"Cual es la parabara en español por 'fireworks'?"

But he didn't understand me (maybe I was speaking too softly...), so I repeated it in English.

"Cuerdas", he said. (I asked him to spell it out though, because I heard "cuertas"...)

I have this problem with Ds and Ts...

And eñes hurt my tongue because of my braces.

Anyways, his dad went in, and I went home (just two houses down!) because I thought I had to go home. (My mom called my cell phone and told me to wake her up at 11:30 PM.) So I found out I could still play!

I went outside and played basketball with his two sisters and his cousin, again. But one of his sisters was wearing high heels, so yeah... *sweats*

Oh yeah! Josué's next door neighbor came to shoot fireworks with us! His family just watched: he was the only one shooting.

It was fun though! Agh, I had been burned twice and deafened at least three times... And after doing all those fireworks, I found burns and scratches I didn't even know I had... *laughs*

I learned his cousin's name... Alfredo! Or Christian. His Spanish's way more fluent than his English, so that's what I spoke most to him. (Even though I didn't know what to say most of the time.) His cousin's elementary, so yah.

We were joking around, and he said that Josué was jota, and he liked me and that we were boyfriends. Josué joked around, and he said, "I love you, baby." I bursted out laughing, and replied to Josué:

Me: ¿Erés tú mi novio?
Josué: Tu madre.

Translation:

Me: Are you my boyfriend?
Josué: Your mom.

Ah...it was midnight, the grand finale! I went into Josué's house, and we watched the countdown from Times Square, New York, on TV! After that, we rushed outside, and started doing more fireworks!

New Year's Day! (This is out of place...)

But before we rushed downstairs, everyone in Josué's family came up to each other and hugged and said, "¡Feliz Año Nuevo!" (I had to say "Año" slowly because my braces were interfering!)

My mom came out to film the fireworks, and I told her to watch Josué's house because we would be shooting them off.

There were a group of black guys and girls walking around the neighborhood throwing fireworks! (Ah, I think I saw Precious! But it was dark...and they were wearing hoods.)

Ah... Later, two Hispanic guys from our neighborhood wanted to race on our bikes, so I ran over to my house...

...said "Chuc Mung Nam Moi!" to my mom, dad, and uncle, and went to get my bike. Then I went to get my garage controller...and then again to get a backpack. (My new jeans were tight, for some reason. Well, little pocket space actually.)

We went racing, but I was SO TIRED halfway there! The second lap, the other two Hispanic guys left us...

Before the second lap though, Josué joked and said that they were all wetbacks, except me. But I was kidding, and I said I was from Ecuador. (Ugh, I mispronounced "Ecuador!") One of the guys there looked white, so I asked if he was Spanish. He said he was Mexican. (Really? You don't look all mestizo...)

We played basketball for a while, then gave up, and went home...around...12:30 AM?

Oh yeah! Josué's family took their pug (breed of dog) to see the fireworks, but it got scared, and started to shake.

I asked, "¿Su perra estoy miedo?" (That didn't sound correct...)

His sisters had asked how much Spanish I knew. (Because Alfie was scaring them, and I asked, "¿Qué estás haciendo?" But they don't understand the word fluido... Well, they don't use it, so yah.

Anyways...back home! At 12:30 AM, we prayed the whole rosary, and after that, my mom, dad, uncle, and I had more leftovers from the party... We stayed up until 2 AM...

I didn't sleep until...2:30 AM? But Diana had locked the door. (Remember? I'm sleeping with her! Even though uncle and auntie left, my mom hadn't cleaned the room yet...)

So sleepy sleepy.

GAH!!! I woke up 30 minutes before church was starting! (I didn't sleep 'til 3 AM?!) So I rushed to get ready, and put on my shoes and rushed, where they were about to leave the street, out of the neighborhood.

So we went to Ngoi Loi Nhap The...

And after that, we went eating at Hong Kong Mall. Kieu Giang. (Uncle and dad saved me and Diana a seat!)

Now, where were Diana and I? We were at Little Surprises! I told the storeowner "Happy New Year!" and she seemed so surprised I said that... (And the TV was playing Disney Channel... When did that happen?!)

So we were eating, but Diana was angry. She didn't want to eat, she wanted to go around and buy stuff! I ordered the wrong thing I wanted to eat that day, but eh.

Diana was pissed... And to make things worse, I was speaking in Spanish with her. I was also trying to teach Ricky Mandarin Chinese at the same time. (He supposedly wanted to learn, but all he learned were four words!!!)

HE COULDN'T EVEN PRONOUNCE "WATER"... *was sad*

Then when I tried talking to Diana, she started signing "Shut up!" over and over, so I started signing angrily at her. (I didn't realize I was making such a scene until I looked around at the group of people waiting in line--the restaurant was crowded.)

Oh yeah! My uncle's lady friend was there! She almost forgot her purse... And my dad and uncle played a trick on her and asked, "Where's your purse?" She panicked and almost ran to the store until I gave it to her... (She left it under the table.)

So my uncle and his lady friend took a taxi (there are taxis here? Vietnamese taxis, I later found out...) to...somewhere... And me and my family went home.

For the rest of the day...we played...computer.

Oh yeah. I was also locked out of Diana's room and didn't sleep until...2:30 AM?

Today/Tuesday

I didn't wake up...until...1:30 in the afternoon.

My sister was playing MapleStory and I wanted to play! But she didn't let me on until 3 PM.

My parents were at Hong Kong Mall, sending money to a relative in Vietnam.

I wanted to go to Wal-Mart.

But when they did get home, we didn't go. I was too addicted to MapleStory. Plus, my mom was angry that my dad couldn't say our names right. He referred to us as Map, Om, and Gai. (Or in English translation: Fatty, Skinny, and Girl.)

How lame is that?

So they got into a fight... And I'm not allowed to say "Da." ("Yes.") to him if he calls me that.

Uhh...so...MapleStory basically.

Around 9-10 PM, I went downstairs to eat.

And...I should get off now, right?

Good night!

School's tomorrow. NOOO!!!!
