X-Men Comics

NEW X-MEN

Currently, there are three teams of X-Men operating around the world. One group, led by Storm and depicted in X-Treme X-Men, calls no one place home and travels the world on a calling of their own, fighting for Xavier's dream in their own way. A second, depicted in Uncanny X-Men, while based at the Xavier Institute, is a sort of an "away team" for the X-Men and is ready at a moment's notice to travel the globe on a mission.
The third and final team, depicted in New X-Men, has shed their public persona as "outlaw heroes" for a new one: crusaders for Mutant Rights. Tackling the world not on the battlefield, but in the public arena, the New X-Men have become activists, fighting philosophy as opposed to super-villains. While Xavier continues his role as mutant ambassador of good will, the rest of the team instructs the next generation of mutants in the X-Men's classic headquarters, the Xavier Institute of Higher Learning, located near Salem Center.

Current Team Members

Wolverine ("Logan" / James Howlett)

Professor Charles Francis Xavier
Powers: enormous mental strength gives him alpha-level telepathic abilities, allowing him to read minds, project his thoughts at others, release his astral form to travel great distances in reality or enter the psychic plane, stun others into paralysis or unconsciousness, and manipulate perceptions, memories and thought processes

Phoenix IV (Jean Grey-Summers)
Powers: dual psionic potential gives her telepathic abilities to sense, broadcast and detect thought patterns, alter the physical or mental perceptions of others, manipulate the functions of the human body, cast human minds into the astral plane, and telekinetic abilities to levitate herself or other objects, propel or manipulate them however she wishes, stimulate individual molecules to create heat, and generate concussive bursts and protective shields

UNCANNY X-MEN

Currently, there are three teams of X-Men operating around the world. The third team, depicted in Uncanny X-Men, has, for a time, been traveling the globe fighting for mutant causes, but recently has returned home. X-TREME X-MEN

The X-Treme X-Men are an authorized offshoot team of the X-Men, which started out on a specific mission - to find and recover the missing diaries of Destiny. Their quest came to a sudden end with the discovery that the diaries only shape the future if one allows it. Their mission over, the team was left with the option to return home to Xavier's mansion. However, Storm and her teammates decided against it, feeling that with the school accepting over a hundred new mutant students and Xavier outing himself as a mutant, an important part of his dream was about to be neglected – peaceful coexistence. While the other teams of X-Men are more or less crusaders for Mutant Rights, the X-Treme X-Men try to improve human/mutant relations.

NEW MUTANTS

The number of new mutants in the world continues to grow. Feared and hated by humanity, the Xavier Institute for Higher Learning provides a safe haven for these mutants. Here they can develop their powers further, as well as learn basic high school knowledge. Each of them needs Xavier's, partially because of their abilities and partially because teenagers need a place to fit in, powers or otherwise. However the professor also knows that confused teenagers are more willing to open up to someone their own age (or at least closer to it) than to an adult, which is why he has some of his former charges among the New Mutants recruit and train a new class of students. The mantle has been passed on with the former pupils being the teachers of the next generation of mutants.

WEAPON X

For quite some time now, humanity has hated and feared mutants. The Weapon X program has found the perfect solution for this; they see mutants as a resource, waiting to be exploited. The original Weapon X program turned humans and mutants into never-aging, brainwashed assassins that could be triggered whenever they wanted, but the whole program was a failure as they lost control of most, if not all of their subjects. Since then, several other Weapon X programs have been restarted, but each with limited success. Though this time it is all different - the latest Weapon X program offers mutants and other superhumans control or enhancement of their powers and, in return, asks their obedience. Still, in many cases that obedience is forced through brainwashing, mental implants or conditioning. The agents of the Weapon X program have become living weapons, most of them not aware of the project's actual goal being the extermination of every mutant on the planet. Many of the mutants capture by the Weapon X agents are either killed or put in a concentration camp to await further experimentation.

X-STATIX

While Xavier's X-Men fight for the rights of mutants worldwide, the team of mutants known as X-Statix fights for something quite different; media attention, fame and money. The missions the team goes on are less about being heroic, than about advertising for merchandise and their X-Cafes. Initially formed as X-Force (a sly attempt to capitalize on the outlaw team's name recognition), the team has recently adopted their new name to not only avoid paying royalties, but to "reposition" themselves in what they consider their "market". However, even with the change in name, the team has remained basically the same, a divided group of individuals more interested in personal fame and wealth than any common cause. As the team continues to fracture, from within and without, it remains to be seen if X-Statix will survive their own hype.

NYX

The X-Men's dream has always been one of creating hope from despair - in a young mutant's darkest hour Charles Xavier will always be just around the corner, ready with open arms and a helping hand. But Xavier can't be everywhere at once. What becomes of a group of young mutants that have to rely on themselves for everything from food to shelter to love? Wayward angels with dirty faces who, instead of preparing for Magneto's next big assault, must learn to survive in the cold, harsh world of the city that never sleeps.

Nothing is known about this book save for the few interviews conducted by several sources, questioning the writer of this book, Joe Quesada. These snippits of commentary were taken from SilverBullet, which contains qoutes from Quesada.

"I feel it tells a different story. How many times have we seen a young mutant's powers come to fruition, and before you know it there's ol' Charlie waiting for them with the welcome wagon? What happens o the kids he can't get to? What happens if these kids have to learn what it means to be a mutant as well as an adult without adult supervision? Also, as the American economy continues on its downward spiral, there is this ever growing subculture of young Gutterpunks in America. Homeless people who aren't even old enough to vote. I just can't help but be drawn to the subject and I feel that it will give us a different, dirtier side of the mutant experience. I just find it fascinating when a character has to ask him or herself, is it okay for me to use my power to steal a loaf of bread because me and my friends are starving?"

"Yes, this will all be about survival. These kids will learn to be a family without parental figures to guide them. They'll have to learn to rely on each other or they just won't survive on the streets. Oh, and at every turn there will be temptations and dangers. There are so many kids in the city that get caught up in the wrong things. You hear about these stories all the time, I want to try to tap into that but these kids will and have to find a way to become heroes as well. But don't expect the heroics to be fighting Mr. Sinister, the villains will be of a more earthly variety and in some cases that all that black and white. Again, using the loaf of bread example, is the grumpy old grocery store owner who decides to have them arrested for stealing a dollar loaf of bread really wrong?"

"I almost called the book Gutterpunks back in the day but NYX sounded so much cooler. All the characters are native NY. The initial story arc introduces each character in a story that will hopefully give our readers all the insight you need to know to make you either love them or hate them. But be forewarned, the characters you end up disliking the most at first may be the ones you love the most later."

Characters

None known so far, all "gutterpunks" will be brand new characters from the lower Manhattan area of New York.

Gambit in the new unifrom

I love this outfit. He wore the same one through most of the comics you know the Theives Guild one. Then he changed uniforms once or twice but they were stupid. The newest one though is so cool. It is better because he can sneek around in the dark and not be seen.

My Favorite Anime
I like animes with out robots or a lot of machine. I like the more classical style like Kenshin or Bebop. Not the fighter relying on the machine to fight for him like in most of the Gundam show; the machine relying on the fighter like a car or something. G Gundam was the show I hated the most its plot was good and all but Domo just relys oh his gundam to much to me.

   Comic Book Battles
Marvel's Quick Silver vs. D.C.'s Flash
Marvel's Gladiator vs. D.C.'s Superman

I'm asking because their powers are pretty much the same thing
