Yugioh Tournament
Today I went to a yugioh card tournament with Zakku, Darth Callahan, Pharoh Yami, and Swift. It was cool, we traded, bought some cards, and played a whole bunch of matches.

We all did pretty well. Pharoh Yami came in 5th, or 6th, I came in 4th, and Zakku came in 3rd. I only lost one Duel, to Zakku. Now, I am not normally not one to complain, but had it not been for the stupid forbidden list, I feel that i could have beaten zakku, made it to the final match, and possibly won the whole thing. The Forbidden list, as one might assume, is a list of cards that are not allowed to be used in yugioh tournament play. It's a very stupid idea, because most of the cards on the list are cards in every duelist's deck, and in no way pose an unfair advantage. The list hurts all duelists, but I feel that it works against me much more than the average duelist. My deck revolves around a lot of cards on the list, and using them for combinations to beat my opponent. Without these cards, my deck is not nearly as effective as when the cards are a part of my strategy. So sorry Zakku, but i feel if the forbidden list was not part of this tournament, i would have finished ahead of you in the standings. I know that you too are crippled by it, but it nearly kills my deck.

Imperial Order

Harpie's Feather Duster

Monster Reborn

Cards Nearly Every Duelist has in their deck, and they are all on the forbidden list ><

Overall, it was a good tournament, and we should go again next week, so i should post again next week.

2005 NBA Champions
Ever since the Spurs got knocked out of the playoffs last year, I have been waiting to say these words: The Spurs are the NBA chamions. Oh God that feels good! It was Tim Duncan who lead them to victory, in the process becoming the 4th NBA player to win 3 finals MVP awards.

It was in the 3rd quarter, when things were looking worst that Duncan came through. The Spurs were down 9, and I was getting ready to call it a night, head to bed, and wake up to see what happenned. But the Spurs fan in me came out, and I decided to stay up and finish the game, and support my team. It was just minutes later that Rasheed Wallace and Antonio McDyess (not spelled right) both got into foul trouble, and had to sit out. With only one true post player on the floor for the pistons, the Spurs capitolized, and fed Duncan the ball. Due to a series of easy baskets and great passes from Duncan, the Spurs came back from the 9 point deficit, and were able to take the lead going into the 4th.

With Detroit's big men back in the game, San Antoinio would have no easy time winning the game, but with Duncan and the rest of the Spurs in a rhythm, the spurs were in good shape to win the game. Great dunks from Manu Ginobli, key defensive plays from Bruce Bowen, and huge 3 pointers from both of those players sealed the deal for San Antonio, and made them the 2005 NBA champions.

Now, for my second, and final piece of NBA trivia. As before, the winner who gets it right will get a trip to a special website, and earn a place in my mind as a very knowledgable basketball fan (even if they only know the answer because they just read about it in the newspaper). Here's the question: Who is one of the three other players to win a finals MVP 3 times?

That's all for basketball posts.

Spurs take game 5!!!
_____Although i have not made it known, I am a huge basketball fan. I play basketball, it's my favorite sport to watch, and to play, and my favorite team is the
San Antonio Spurs. Right now, they are playing in the NBA finals against the Detroit Pistons, and going for their 3rd NBA Championship in 7 years. Last night's game was critical. With the series tied up 2-2 in detroit, whoever won this game would be in very good shape to take the trophy. Saddly, I was forced to go to sleep before the end of the game because I had finals to take today. Luckilly, I awoke to find out that, in a thrilling overtime victory, the Spurs had won game five. The Hero: who else but "Big Shot" Bob Horry, all time NBA leader in finals three pointers, 5 time NBA champion, and one of the great clutch players in NBA history.

2 time MVP Tim Duncan, my favorite player.

_____With the clock winding down, the spurs needed points, and they needed them quick. Only 10 seconds to go, and down, the spurs inbounded it to rising NBA star Manu Ginobli. Ginobli was double teamed, but was able to make a gret pass to "Big Shot". Horry lived up to his reputation, and drained the game winning 3ball.

_____With the spurs up a game, and the series shifting back to San Antonio, it looks good for the spurs, but don't count the pistons out yet. Detroit was in this same position last series, and was able to take down the mighty Miami Heat to advance for to the finals. Can they do it again? Hopefully not, but we shall see. Tune in next time for my exiting summery of game 6, and I will have another trivia question like this one:

How many NBA championships has "Big Shot" Robert Horry won?

If you know the answer, include it in your comment, and I will give you a link to a funny website.

Mewsic
I hope that you all have noticed my new site music (it should be playing right now). The song is called Date Rape by, probibly one of my favorite bands, Sublime. This is a great song, because if you don't like the accual song, atlest everyone can enjoy the funny, and somewhat disturbing lyrics. Sublime has quite a few songs like this, such as Wrong Way, Smoke Two Joints, and, topping them all, Caress Me Down.

Some other bands I like are Nirvana, Grateful Dead, and Led Zepplin. I like a bunch of different rock music, but i'm not a big fan of Rap.

Anyway, the point of this post is to try and show all of you some new bands that hopefully some of you can enjoy. Also, I would really like to know if you are not into this type of music, what artists/bands do you all like?

More Manga!!!
_____Anyone who read my post yesterday knows that i recently finished the first version of Fullmetal Alcemist, and loved it. After finishing it, i felt incomplete, because after waiting two weeks for the graphic novel, i had only waited for forty five minutes of bliss. It went by too quickly. So, I asked my mom if we could make a trip to barns and noble, where i would purchase more graphic novels to fill th void left by the completion of FMA, being the dollface that she is, she said she would willingly take me, as long as i spent my own money. Lucky for me, friday was allowance day, and i had 15 spare dollars, enough for two graphic novels.
_____When we got there, it was great, they had an entire wall dedicated to manga, and I could have any two I wanted. I was looking to buy the first rurouni kenshin and the first inuyasha, because everyone seems to like them so much. However, they did not have either of them. So, I was forced to browse. A few things tickled my fancy, like the second YuYu Hakusho, the first Escaflowne, a few different versions of Gundam, and I was even tempted to grab an Inuyasha animanga, or skip the first rurouni kenshin, and go to the second. In the end, I decided to go with Escaflowne (which I hear is a great anime) and Gundam The Last Outpost.
_____First I read Escaflowne, because I had heard such great things about it. I liked it a lot, but it was defineatly not what i had expected it to be. Before I speak of my encounter with a Gundam, I must pose one question to my good friend Zakku:
Why the hell do you like Van so much? He's a stupid, short, short tempered lame prince. I just can't see how you can possibly say that he is in any way cooler than Mr. Callahan. Mabye I'll find out in later volumes.

_____After that, I moved onto Gundam The Last Outpost. This spinoff of the popular Gundam Wing series takes place at the same time as the original Gundam. I had never seen or read Gundam before, but I liked it. The only thing that disapointed me was that it was hard to keep up with the Gundam fights. I had a very difficult time keeping up with what was blowing up what, and which Gundam was slashing who. Other than the confusion of the fight, I liked it.

_____Gundam Outpost is only 3 volumes, so I will buy the other two when i have cash. As for Escaflowne, I am planning on buying the Anime, and Probibly finsh the manga as well. I liked both of these books, and I find it funny that Before this, I had never read anything about giant ro bots, but after reading both of them, two of my new favorite mangas revolve around the fighting of giant robots. That's all.

FullMetal Alchemist
_____I just finished reading the first volume of Fullmetal Alchemist. FMA is mostly known for being a popular anime on cartoon network. Well, as it turns out, it's also a pretty good manga.
_____It all started a week ago when i was brosing through my most recent issue of EGM (electronic gaming monthly). I saw an advertisement for the new FMA videogame which, from the screenshots, looked pretty cool. So, I went on the internet, and checked out the game. Well, it turned out that the game was not out yet so, in search of a new manga (because the manga is almost always better than the anime) I checked it out. After reading about it for half an hour, i knew i would love it. Due to this fact, i bought the graphic novel. Saddly, the shipping took nearly two weeks, but fortounatly, it came today. It took me 45 min. to read (including bathroom breaks and food stops). Now, after finishing it, I am increadibly happy and dissapointed at the same time. Happy because FMA lived up to my high expectations, but terribly sad because not only must I wait a month for the second volume to come out, but i need to wait until December for the third volume to come out >_<

_____FMA is a great manga. Edward Elric and his brother Alphonse are awsome. They are alchemists, which means that they can change the being of physical objects, as long as it is the same size and made of the same substance. Although Edward is the more talented alchemist, Alphonse is physicly stronger because his soul is trapped into an empty suit of armor. For me to explain the whole thing now would be very confusing, and take a long time, but that is the basics of the manga. FMA is great, and i might even watch the show sometime. I hope all of you get a chance to read it.

Episode III
I am a starwars fan. Not huge, but i know a decent bit about the galaxy far far away. for weeks, i anticipated the release of the final installment (mabye) of the legendary series. I had tickets reserved for opening day, and me, zakku, darth callahan, and pharoh yami were all going to see it (although darth and I are the only true star wars fans). However, the day before the movie, my plans were ruined, and my world was shattered when my (upcoming inside joke) dear sweet mother looked at me like a cow looks at an oncoming train, and said YOU CAN'T GO TO STARWARS TOMARROW, YOU HAVE A BASEBALL GAME. Noooooooooooooo, the day that I had built my entire month around was ruined, and my friends had to go on without me, and see the movie by themselves.

Well, one thing lead to another, and it was a week before i had another chance to see the greatest film made in my liftime (with the exception of the lion king), however, as soon as my exitement boiled too see the film finally, my mom told me that we had to go to a stupid dinner party at our friends' house (my parents friends, not mine) >_<. So again, my dreams were crushed as the film had to be put off another 10 days. Being the busy, busy man that i am, i would not get another chance to see the movie until last night, when my good ol' pal darth callahan invited me to see it. But yet again, my mother was the bearer of bad news, telling me, "sunday night is family night, i don't want you going to some stupid movie, especially not on a school night!" thanks a lot MOM! i had to call darth back five minutes later telling him about the despair that i was in. Seeing how upset i was, and being the great friend that he is, he convinced his mom to go to the movie today!! What a great pal ^_^
After thinking about it all day, the time finally came for me to have the viewing pleasure of a lifetime, but not after one last surprise. The film we were seeing was being shown in IMAX (and i thought it couldn't get any better, how naive). The film did not dissapoint my sky high expectations. This starwars movie was filled with more emotion than any other of the five films before it. The special effects were stunning. It seemed as if in every scene there were computer generated characters, background, or animations.

However, i don't need to get into a full review of it, because i am the last person on the planet earth to see it >_<
I wouldn't say the wait was worthwhile, but atleast the film deserved the huge build up it got. I am soooooooooooooo glad to have finally see it, and i plan to make up for lost time by seeing it twice a week for the next three weeks.

TOP GAMES
_____As you may have guessed from reading my profile, I LOVE videogames. So, due to that fact, and because i need some posts on my site, i am going to list my 5 favorite videogmaes of all time. Feel free to disagree.

#5: Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater
_____Although the gameplay was tough to master, and the controls were frustrating, at best, Snake Eater is my fifth favorite game of all time. The game has great graphics, some of the best i have ever seen on a PS2 game and the story is the best non RPG I have ever been a Part of. Ontop of all of this, the main character, Snake, Is BADASS. The game is only $30 rite now, so if u have some extra cash and a PS2, try to pick it up.

#4: Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic

_____This Xbox RPG takes place way, way before the events of episodes I-VI, but that does not stop it from being my 4th favorite game of all time. The reason i love this game so much is because it gives you choices like no other RPG has before it. The option of being good or evil, choosing to kill somone, or let them live, gives you a sense of complete control over the game, something that RPG's before it have lacked. The story was good, but not comparable with games such as Kingdom Hearts, and bioware's later project, Jade Empire, but it holds up very well. The graphics were not great, but not bad either. My main complaint about this game was that the combat system is very dull, and requires nearly no thought process. Inspite of that, KOTOR is my 4th favorite game of all time.

#3: Kingdom Hearts

_____Although to most people, the idea of disney characters teaming up with Final Fantasy heroes seems just a bit obscure, it seemed to me to be one of the greatest videogames of all time. The story is corny, but in the end I, like so many other people who enjoyed this game, fell for it. The disney characters may be the appeal factor that make you take a chance on this game, but the compelling story and exiting battle style was what makes you stay with it. Kingdom Hears for PS2 is my 3rd favorite game of all time, and my favorite RPG of all time.

#2: Halo 2

_____It is rare in my life that a game (other than an RPG)can be my life for 7months. However, Halo 2 has done just that. With better graphics and improved gameplay over Halo, Halo 2 has been my virtual escape for all of 2005. This game however is not flawless, without the addition of Xbox Live, this game is of the most disapointing sequals of all time. But Halo 2 does have Xbox live, saving it from certain doom. Xbox live combined with Halo 2's simultainesly easy and deep gameplay makes it my second favorate game of all time.

#1: The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time

_____Although I can only remember bits and pieces of this game from when I played it in second grade, I can remember this. Ocarina of Time was the first videogame that I thoroughly enjoyed. I don't remember how the graphics, or gameplay, or any of that other stuff matched up against other games, but I do remember the Fear the Zombies of the marketplace struck into my heart, the happiness i got when i found my first Item (the slingshot), my comlete sense of relief when I beat the horse race with Epona, and how proud of myself I was when I memorized the sun song. That is what videogames really are. Not graphics, gameplay, or difficulty level, but storyline and raw emotion. That is why Ocerana of Time is my favorite video game ever.

Weather you agree with my opinions or not, could you please reply to this post, because I would really like to know if I am the only gamer who feels so strongly about these games, or if I have it all wrong, and other games Reign supreme. Thx for the opinion
