*walks in wearing a dunce hat*

Yep, that'd be me. It's not intentional of course, but building IKEA furniture can make one feel a little inferior. See, me and my mom spent about three days trying to build this bed 'cause my old one broke (which we had only gotten a couple months before to replace an even older one). It was a loft bed, so we knew it would be a little more complicated than the other stuff that we had built, but little could prepare us for the true doozy that we were in for.

We started by doing the normal thing, assessing the pieces and hardware that came with it, and examining the building instructions to get some idea of what we were doing beforehand. Of course, I really had very little clue, but as usual I went with it. After hauling the pieces upstairs, we started putting the sides of the bed together. That went well, so we began putting the side support beams in. After I accidentally dropped one of the screws into a pole and had to up-end the entire thing to get it out, we were on our way. We got most of the hard stuff done, only to find out that the screws wouldn't fit into the poles in order to put the front rail on.

At first (which actually was for a whole day) we thought it was 'cause the poles were screwed up or something. So, we start to make the arrangments to bring the poles back and get replacements, and we go to take the bed apart, and we find out that the poles actually have letters on them that indicate where they should go, and we found out that they were mixed up, and therefore backwards. After that we were able to put it together, but that isn't the point. Hence, the "dunce" hat.

Well, see, I've had an adventurous weekend, eh? My mom and I also went out to look at these apartments in Frederick, Maryland (which is, like, some ways northeast of where I live in Woodbridge, Virginia). They were nice, and we applied to get in, 'cause my mom's office is moving to Bethesda, which is a two hour commute from here, so we have to move. I'm hoping we'll get in. I'll find out tomorrow whether or not we did or not. *crosses fingers*

On the writing front, I am stuck on just about everything. I'm thinking about starting a new story just to see if it would break the writer's block, but I don't know if it will. This sucks. I can't even make wallpapers! Bah. Life bites.

What Was Never Meant to Be Seen...

Well, I've officially decided that whoever got my wallpaper when I submitted it, didn't like it and probably deleted it. Though not very encouraging for my first YGO wallpaper, I'll live. *sigh*

Anyway, I guess I can still post the wallpaper here, so people can still see it. It's better than nothing, right?

I think from now on I'll just go look at what other people have posted. *another dramatic sigh*
