I got this poem from our English project. This was composed by Fernan Ibasco.

Because
I cannot touch your heart, I look at your face
Your brows arch like rainbows
The socket of your eyes tender like your mouth

Because
I cannot cuddle your hair, I savor its sight
Drizzling tendrils of black silk
Highlighted with gold and bronze

Because
I cannot kiss your lips, I hug your smiles
They lilt like a candle flame’s glow
Touch like a summer breeze

Because
I cannot put you in my arms, I catch your shadow
In make-believe I find relief
In the dark of night surges my delight

Alas, I can never own you
Caress then, Beloved, my sweet sorrow
Weave the verses of my poems, hum the melody of my songs
Again, tonight, I shall dream of you
