Sorry for disappearing for the past few days. It’s my friend’s fault. I got a new mouse for my computer though since my other one crapped out on me. I got a wireless one made for righties AND lefties. Spifftastic.
So yes, my friends dragged me out the past couple nights. My friend, Gavin got a new house that he’s renting with two other friends so we went up there to take a look and have some drinks and such. It’s such a nice house too and the rent is really reasonable. Monthly rent for the entire house is $1,100 so split 3 ways is really good. I need to inform people that my itty bitty apartment in NYC cost me $1,175 a month. So yeah, they get an entire HOUSE for less then what I was paying.
Last night, we went to my friend Phil’s house and we played Lord of the Rings DVD Trivia Pursuit. I have yet to ever be beaten in this game. It was all their idea to play it too and they all got SERVED! I even amaze myself by all the random factual crap I know about that movie/book.

After I kicked all their asses at that game…twice…since they thought they could beat me in a second round which they failed at miserably, we watched this horrible 1989 horror movie entitled, The Suckling. Yes, that’s the name of it. It was hilarious at how bad it was. Let me see if I can summarize it: A girl is pregnant and her boyfriend wants her to have an abortion so he takes her to an abortion clinic/whore house in which she is drugged and they abort her baby. They flush the fetus down the toilet in which time it mixes up with toxic waste and comes back to life and wants to seek revenge on everyone who is in that house….yes, it’s a winner. One of the best parts is that the 4 “macho” male characters talk with a really homosexual lisp so it’s impossible to take them seriously. So yes, if you happen to see that movie in a video rental store, RENT IT and watch it with a group of friends.

Haha! Seems like a lot of you don’t like coffee. I used to HATE it…until college. Coffee really is an acquired taste and in college, I slowly started adding a little bit of coffee into my hot chocolate because I needed something to keep me awake. Before I knew it, I was drinking almost all coffee with very little chocolate and now I can drink coffee on its own. It’s yummy now.

I think I need a new mouse for my computer. It’s been doing this thing where the mouse itself will be still, but the cursor would be jerking around the screen. It wasn’t too bad at first but tonight, as I was browsing the sites, it was spazzing out so much that I couldn’t open correct links and was closing ones I didn’t want to. Very frustrating. I’m using an old one for the time being and it works well but the cord is too short and I had to change the setting on my computer to make it for right-handed people. Aye, since I’m a lefty, I have my mouse set up as such. I love seeing my right-handed friends attempt to use it. They just can’t understand that it’s simply backwards.
Today, I spent ALL day working on my 52 pages of paperwork for the casino I was hired at. It’s so annoying because it asks for so much crap, like asking me where my siblings live and their #’s and their occupations and then I had to get all my IRS paperwork to fill out all that junk and it even asks how much my furniture and clothing is worth and how much cash I have in hand. WTF?! Why do they need to know that?!

Oh, the voting system is going to be changed soon for the fanart section! That’s the first step in improving that section to make it so more people would be willing to post their work.
Question of the Day: Do you tend to multi-task when you’re browsing the internet?
My Answer: Yep, I usually am watching a movie or have some form of background noise while cruising the internet. Except when I’m reading people’s myO posts and leaving comments. I have it quiet then so I can focus better. Hee!

Wow, such positive comments for my last drawing…which was nothing but a sketch! Lol! And for those who asked, no, I don’t plan on coloring it since I like the feel to it on that paper in sketchy form. Also, the Earthbound paper is paper you can get in certain art stores. I actually bought a whole sketchbook filled with that kind of paper since it’s so coolio. If you care to see it and haven’t yet, here the drawing:

I went to an old friend of mine’s house today. I like him and all but he’s sorta annoying because he’s had a mad crush on me since 8th grade and so he likes to…touch me…a LOT. He’s not like, grabbing my boobers or anything but he just can’t keep his paws off me. But, I will say, he was better tonight so it wasn’t too bad. He is a really nice guy though and good-looking but…meh. He’s only home for today before he’s off to finish his last semester in college. His family has an exchange student living there from Holland and she was so nice. Her English is just about perfect too. She gave me some Dutch candies. They were yummy.
On my way home, I was listening to the radio and they gave some really cool facts about coffee. Coffee is full of antioxidants and can reduce your chances of getting diabetes and certain kinds of cancer in half! In the long run, you’re less likely to have Alzheimer’s too. It also stated that coffee helps you loose weight because it’s an appetite suppressant and you tend to burn food and calories better because it’s good for your metabolism. Nifty, aye? The say though to stay away from decaffeinated coffee because it can cause all sorts of health problems including heart disease! Funny, since you’d think the caffeinated would do that. Good thing I drink lots of coffee! Yumm.

Question of the Day: Is there a kind of food that you love but you rarely ever get to eat?
My Answer: Yes. It’s pizza. My mom is allergic to tomatoes and cheese so we never get to eat pizza and I love it so!!

I did a sketchy drawing today of my character, Estel Elendil. I uploaded it even though it’s not a hard-core colored piece like my others but I did it on cool earthbound paper and it’s a sketch that I think stands on its own. So, if you want to take a look, I’d be happy but if you don’t want to then…meh. It took me about 45mins to do, so not too shabby. You can click the thumbnail below to see the full-sizer:

Anyway, judging by the responses from my last post in changing the fanart section it seems really positive. Having just a “yes” vote and getting rid of the ‘no’ prevents people from being malicious and simply voting ‘no’ on the art without giving a reason why but with the new method, if a person doesn’t like the piece, then they can simply leave a comment to the reason why they don’t like it.
Adam and I discussed on AIM the size-restrictions and it looks like he’s going to be changing that so people can download the full-version of the piece, much like how you full-size a wallpaper. Also, I mentioned that it would be better to allow more room for the descriptions artists leave along the bottom of their drawing. Sound good, people?

On Sci-fi today, they had a string of horror movies and one of them was called, Boo. You know, that title pretty much describes my thoughts on the movie. It was so lame. MST3K would have a field day with that one.
I was supposed to go out with my friends tomorrow but then I found out I have a dentist appointment smack-dab in the middle of the day. *sniff* Oh look! Kadaj…I feel better now. ^_^ *pets him like a kitty*

Heh, lots thought it was funny how many anime/game character I noticed to be left-handed. Well, when you live in a right-handed dominated world, you can’t help but notice it. Plus, usually in anime/mangas/games, when a character is left-handed, there’s a significant reason why they are. It’s usually a demonic reason though. Lol! Many were shocked Link from Legend of Zelda is a lefty. Yep, he is. Just watch any game he’s in, he wields his sword, shoots arrows, and uses the slingshot with his left-hand.^_^
Question of the Day: What’s the last manga you read and did you like it?
My Answer: I read this manga called Café Kichijouji De and oh my gawd…SO hilarious. It’s got the totally crazy story that mixes the humor of Ouran High School Host Club with the personalities of Fruits Basket, meets the total unrealistic moments of Looney Tunes. It’s great and wonderful artwork too.^_^

Okay, I was chatting with Adam(the owner of this site…and if you don’t know who Adam is by now, for shame^_~) on AIM and we were trying to figure out ways to make the art section of Otaku better. I recommended the size restrictions and such but the main point of our concern was the voting and ranking system of artwork. We pretty much decided, that people take full blown advantage of voting for artworks negatively for their own personal reasons, whether it be jealousy or they personally don’t like the subject matter. So, we figured it may be a good idea to get rid of that “Yes” “No” voting system and have it so if a person likes the drawing, they simply cast a vote letting the artist know they like the drawing. For example, you’re cruising the artwork and you see a drawing you really like, you click a button that says you like the artwork and that’s all you do. The comments, of course, would still be on there so people can still leave actual feedback on the piece. Artists would receive rankings much like for wallpapers and greetings that allows them to see how many votes they have gotten.
We would like to know what you guys think of this idea because if it seems people would like this system, that feature may get changed. So just let me know if you like the idea or not.^_^

Oh, and I was watching America’s Funniest Videos tonight and I’ve come to the conclusion, that if you see a clip starting with a person on a trampoline, you know it’s not going to end well.
Vincent Valentine!!

Thank you all for your great comments on my latest drawing! I’m glad you all like it. And yes, that’s pretty accurate to what I look like in real-life…obviously, I’m not *that* cartooney.XD But my dad saw it and he even recognized it as me. I think it was mostly the hair, clothes, and shoes that make it most obvious to people who know me in real life. Anywho, you can click the thumbnail below if you haven’t seen it yet:

Oh, and I’m glad to hear Estel is already growing a fan base. Lol! I’m not sure if it’s JUST him who ate my Ramen though…I think there’s more elves who have been eating it…>_>

Question of the Day: Are you left-handed or right-handed?
My Answer: I’m a lefty, baby! I get to share that honor with Kadaj, Yazoo, Loz, Reno, Sephiroth, Link from Legend of Zelda, Train from Black Cat…although he’s ambidextrous but he was born a lefty. Heh…notice most of those people are evil? >_>

Anyway, last night, I had an interview with Adam, the owner of this site. He’s compiling an art book type guide…more-so on getting your work published and such but we chatted on AIM and it seems like it will be a helpful guide. I wont talk too much about it since I don’t know how much he wants shared.^^Oh, and I mentioned to him about the Popularity Ranking feature being down and how many of you have been asking when it was going to be back up. So...yeah, he put it back up now! And don't thank me, thank Adam who does an amazing job keeping this site going! *pats his back*
Other then that, today, I watched Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children again. I’ve seen it dozens of times already but I felt like seeing some eye-candy. Kadaj and Cloud…oh man, best eye-candy EVER! I took a bunch of screen shots and here’s an uber smexy shot of Yazoo I took:

I finished the drawing! And I just reached over 19,000 hits too. What a coinkidink, thank you! Anyway, just click the thumbnail below to see the full-sizer:

Like I said before, I did this drawing for my Deviant Art I.D. but thought I’d upload it here as well. That’s me in it, the one peeved at the Elf. How dare he eat my ramen! Feh! But that elf is my original character named Estel so I thought it would be good to draw me and him together. My scanner browned the skin a bit too much but meh, I’ll live. As always, comments and votes are very much appreciated.^_^

I even gave up going out with my friends to finish that drawing. I’m such a dweeb. But hey, I was all into it and it’s hard to pull away. I’m sure others understand that feeling.
The other night, I had gone to my friend, Howard’s house and Tyler, Gavin, and Cara were there too and we watched the Roast of William Shatner on Comedy Central. The best part of the night though was when I walked in and I was swarmed with animals. A doggy and some kitties. SCWEE! I was in heaven. One of the kitties jumped on my lap and I was petting it and Howard’s mom said that that cat isn’t usually friendly so he must like me. Heh, damn straight! I love animals. *pets my doggy, Freddie*

*I know, I’ve used this quote before but I love this part.^_^*
Quote of the Day comes from the Fruits Basket, manga, volume 16:
Ayame: “Yuki, this is horrible!!! Is that blood running down your face?!”
Yuki: “I’m fine, it’s just a little scratch.”
Ayame: “That’s right, it hurts, doesn’t it?! But, there is nothing to worry about, for I, with the power of a hundred million horses, am here by your side!!”
Hatori: “Just hurry up and bring him over.”
Ayame: “Roger that, Tori-san!!!!” *lifts Yuki into his arms* “YOU CAN’T DIE, YUKI!!! The evening sun we saw as we swore that we would die together even now still shines within my heart!!”
Yuki: “I didn’t swear anything and I didn’t see anything! You can’t just make up stuff like that! PUT ME DOWN!!!”
Ayame: “HOLD ON, YUKI!!!”

Wow, a lot of you remembered my original character, Estel! *wipes tear* I’m so proud. Most recall him as “the hot elf guy, right?” lol! Yes, that would be him. I’ll have the drawing done later today.
Question of the Day: What’s one of your favorite hobbies?
My Answer: Drawing…duh.^_~ But I do read ALL the time as well.

There was a gigantic spider in our swimming pool today. I mean…HUGE! My mom thought it was a tarantula but I just laughed at her because it wasn’t THAT big. It was the biggest I’ve ever seen around here though. I scooped it out of our pool with the skimmer and tossed it into our backyard. Later though, I was helping my doggy, Freddie, up the steps and I saw a spider just as big in our house. AH! It darted behind the washer though…let’s hope it doesn’t end up in my bed tonight. *shudder*
Other then the monster spider, today, I began coloring my new drawing and I took a break to play the Final Fantasy VII game, Dirge of Cerberus. Somehow, they made Vincent Valentine hotter for this game…I didn’t think it was possible to make him more scrumptious then in Advent Children.^_~ The game is fun but Wolf was right, the controls are pretty tough. It’s not a RP game like the other Final Fantasies, rather an action shooting game. I got the hang of it after awhile. The movie scenes in it…oh man, like any FF game, are amazing.

Bah, can’t think of a quote…so here’s a rockin’ picture of Kenshin instead!

For those who asked, I got my Naruto necklace from China Town when I was living in NYC. And the pictures I put on the bottom of my posts come from various pictures around the web and some are ones I scan myself.
Question of the Day: What kind of video game console do you own or, if you have more then one, which is your fave?
My Answer: I have a PS2 and Gamecube but prefer the PS2. Gamecube is good for when you’re doing multi-player, party games though like Super Smash Bros. Melee.

I started a new drawing today. It’s nothing fancy but I’m actually doing it for my Deviant Art I.D. It’s just me drawn with my original character, Estel. Some may remember him since I’ve shown sketches of him and there is a completed drawing of him in my gallery. Even though I’m drawing it for DA, I still upload it here when it’s done since it is still anime.^_^
Anywho, I was driving down the road and a squirrel jetted out in front of me. Don’t worry, I didn’t hit it but I noticed something amusing that squirrels always do when you drive near them…which is, they stick their tails straight up into the air like an arrow. It made me laugh this time because for some reason, it reminded me of the dwarf, Gimli from Lord of the Rings. Remember in the first one, when Gimli started falling off the cliff and Legolas runs up to save him and the first thing he grabs is his beard and Gimli just yells, “NOT THE BEARD!!!” Haha! It seems like that’s what squirrels think when their tails are about to get run over by a car. “Not the tail!!” I know, strange comparison…forgive me.XD

Quote of the Day(because I just had to) comes from Lord of the Rings:
Gimli: *looking at groups of Orcs across bridge* “Oh, c’mon, we can take ‘em!”
Aragorn: “It’s a long way.”
Gimli: *looks over* “……..toss me.”
Aragorn: “What?”
Gimli: “I can not jump the distance. You’re going to have to toss me.”
*Aragorn nods and begins to grab him*
Gimli: “Oh….don’t tell the Elf.”
Aragorn: “Not a word.”

I was watching the People’s Court…yeah, I watch that show, so what?! Anyway, there was this one guy on it who was shaped like the yellow peanut M&M. It amused me.
Question of the Day: What’s your favorite clothes accessory?
My Answer: I have a silver necklace that has the symbol of the leaf village from Naruto that I wear all the time. I get so many compliments about it too…especially from those who don’t even know what it’s from.^^

Today was my parent’s 35th anniversary so I drove to the mall and bought them both Cinnabons. They love Cinnabons and they were pleased when I brought it home to them. While at the mall, I picked up the 9th volume of Kare First Love and the cashier got all excited because she’s into mangas too so we chatted for awhile. ‘Twas pleasant. And then, I went to Electronics Boutique and bought Naruto Ultimate Ninja and the new FF7 game with Vincent Valentine called Dirge of Cerebus. I have yet to play the Vincent game but played the Naruto one and it’s fun. Although, I visibly cringed every time they spoke. Their English voices are down-right painful…except Sasuke’s. His voice is good. Just playing the game already has made me realize why hearing Naruto say, ‘Believe it,’ is so annoying. Gah, why the hell did they make him say that? I know in Japanese, he says ‘Dattebayo’ which is literally gibberish and he doesn’t even say it that much! Feh!

Quote of the Day comes from Animaniacs:
Picasso: “I’m very busy trying to discover a new style so please, go away!”
Yakko: “So, we should go?”
Picasso: “Oui, oui.” (pronounced like ‘wee wee’)
Yakko: “Pardon?”
Picasso: “Oui, oui!”
Yakko: *sigh* “The stuff they’re getting away with on kid’s shows these days.”
